Well known method of achieving perma-swiftness. Get a little boon duration and its even easier as you will keep stacking it.
But of course, its also boring as all kitten to keep popping your heal on every cooldown.
That’s why most of us run Travelers instead.
Cheap mans method is of course running with focus (and preferably some heavy duration bonuses)
It shouldn’t be a surprise, though, when someone asks about top WvW guilds and the response is almost entirely GvG guilds. Anybody can golem-rush an empty map at 3am and earn big PPT. Anybody can sit on an arrow-cart for 4 hours. Anybody can recruit 500 players and blob roaming guilds. What most people are impressed and interested by is being able to take on equal or greater numbers and consistently win. I can’t think of any guilds who are genuinely a threat who don’t participate in GvG.
Considering there are like a billion WvW guilds and only a handful recognizable GvG guilds, of course people are going to name the later.
Personally I think that the best WvW/GvG/whatever guilds have already stopped playing. But I’m feeling a little nostalgic today. I miss the the good old days when Piken pugs could beat the snot out of Red Guard :p
Look at the bright side – at least we get to feel unique on the battlefield. Mesmers are beginning to be such a rarity they’re even being appreciated. Its not uncommon to see that 30 man zerg run inside a keep with 30 people stuck outside going “omg where is portal we need portal wtf no one is a mesmer?!”. That’s when you can become a hero
I for one still love playing my Mesmer. I love the playstyle and I love the in-your-face-butterfly-explosion action even when engaging in combat.
That said, I dont play competitive PvP, I know my limitations and its not hard to see the limits of the Mesmer. For high end competition… its simply a broken class. Alone, a Mesmer is utterly worthless (you’re not like Ranger… You’re like the Rangers pet). With all clones/phantasms out… their AI is worthless. I honestly cant even begin to count the number of times my clones have failed me.
Today for example – 2vs2. Two Mesmers (me and a buddy) vs a Warrior and Guardian. They tried to gank my buddy when I was away, but I managed to return and stealth res him then we turned the tables. They where good throughout the fight (must have lasted 5 minutes or so), but we had the upper hand. When the Guardian was down to 10% HP, I was going in for the kill, I do iLeap and… the clone stop dead 1m from me because the Guardian was a little bit uphill. No way to reach him, blink was on cooldown. Short while later, the Guardian was back at 60%+ HP of course. I could have downed him, but no. The clone didnt work.
And that’s why the Mesmer will never ever be competetive unless Anet perform extensive fixes. Which doesnt seem likely to happen.

just wait for camelot unchained. thats an rvrvr only game, but isnt even in beta yet
Isnt Camelot Unchained supposed to be monthly fee?
Not sure exactly what to make of the ops question. Looking for an online game, maybe with ctf? Uuuuh…
There are hundreds of online games. None of them are like GW2.
If I was to pick a perpetual battle game to be invested in (ie play in a guild and such), I’d probably pick Planetside 2. It offers some really neat things and the battles can be epic.
Other MMOs afaik require you to spend quite alot of time outside PvP. ESO (with monthly fee) is of course the one that come closest and in many aspects exceed GW2 WvW, but it fail on so many levels levels its not even funny. And it still require you to spend a gazillion hours doing other stuff. Like managing your inventory.
-Warring guilds can enter a 20v20 instance for GvG.
-Multiple GvG game modes including deathmatch, ctf, t&h.
So one of the main complaints is that EoTM “killed” WvW by splitting up the populations and emptying the borderlands…
How exactly would splitting it further and encourage guilds to not play WvW help?
Err… While taking a supply camp? You mean killing the NPCs?
Or are we talking about 1 ele killing 8-10 players?
The former is highly likely and common. Even upgraded camps can be soloed with some skill. The latter… not so much likely. In fact, pretty impossible unless they’re all level 1 upscales that are semi-afk.
Its early in the morning, I’m still tired and grumpy. So here’s a wall of text for you.
- Redesign all 3 border to match the desert, jungle/grass and tundra themes that’s already in GW2. They would remain similar as they are. This can be a lengthy process, doesnt has to happen all in one patch.
- Redesign Eternal Battleground to fit into the above concept. IE if the desert border is on the left, EB left side begin to transition to desert.
- Introduce the dynamic “weather” system as appropriate in each climate. Dust storms in the desert, fog in the jungle, ice storms in the tundra.
- Constant PPT is toned down to only affect major keeps. SM, border keeps and garrison.
- Additional PPT can be gained by bringing back the orbs. Orbs are captured from minor keeps and put into hills/bay on the border lands. Each hill/bay can hold two orbs in total. For example, bay hold the orbs from the NW and SW keep. If these keeps are lost, the PPT bonus is lost as well.
- When a keep or camp is captured, a fixed amount of points is awarded. The higher the tier, the higher the points. Major keeps get additional fixed points as reward when flipping.
- Doors can no longer be hacked down by hand and have their base HP upped a bit
- Siege supply costs are beefed up considerably
- The above is countered by improved siege methods – rams and catapults are now mobile (but very slow) and there is a new “support golem” that is a poor mans version of hacking down a door by hand. Each camp support two free “support golem” (say 80 supply to build, if the camp is lost they are automatically destroyed). Its power is weaker than the alpha golem.
- Trebuchets have longer range and more power to counter their new “static” deployment compared to mobile siege.
- Arrowcarts are redesign to fire like catapults/trebuchets – 1/3 control rotation, 2 control firing arc. As a tradeoff, they’re also mobile like catapults/rams. Ballistas become mobile as well, but can only firing within a very small angle before needing to be manually rotated.
- Camps can be upgraded in more stages, with roaming guards.
- Removal of the god darn annoying centaurs and skritt which are replaced with two more camps that also resupply the EoTM supply cache (ie citadel supply). Alternativly, these areas would be replaced with two major keeps that hold the above mentioned orbs for hills/bay instead of them being in the minor keeps.
- Commanders have the ability to name their squad, change color, icon and go private (only visible to guild/party members).
- When holding a nearby keep, the amount of friendly NPCs at a flag point increase as its tier is increased.
- Guild challenges added for major keeps and hills/bay. When a guild trigger either an assault or defense challenge, they got a certain amount of time to complete the task. For example, if a guild trigger the defense of Stonemist then they need to hold it for 30 minutes or something. Award tiers depend on how many enemies died in there, whether inner/outer has been breached, whether any enemy came into the inner sanctum, etc. Defending successfully against no one in the middle of the night is of course only eqvivalent to pot metal award, not even bronze. These can be triggered a couple of times per day but not when another guild has triggered it for the keep in question. The challenge is of course publicly noted as a dynamic event on the map, for both friends and enemies (including the guild name)… Enemies that thwart it get a regular event completion with award.
And that’s about it for what I can rant about this morning. Ugh, need a shower.

For Guardian, its the poledancing.
Oh yeah…
Personally I really hope that the iWarden not working 50+% of the time is just an intended part of the skill and there is a minor bug fix to update the tooltip.
I really think it would be cool if when the iWarden doesn’t attack you just don’t summon it at all and instead a little flag with “BANG!” on it pops out of your focus in a burst of purple-y mesmer butterflies.
What do you guys think? Cool bug fix or totally lame?
But if it was intended, we’d see similar changes across the board.
For example:
Warrior axe throw – now has a 50% chance to boomerang back and inflict 3000hp damage on the Warrior
Guardian staff buff – 66% chance to lock in an infinite loop while preventing any movement*
Thief basilisk venom – 33% chance to trigger an effect called “Maybe it needs to be sharpened first?” and turn the Thief into stone instead.
Engineer grenades – 33% chance to fumble.
Etc and so on.
*Asuran Guardians are stuck in an endless spin loop while a disco ball appear over their heads and “You spin me right round, baby” plays.
Be warned that the logical option, making a macro that makes a certain mouse button perform double-taps for dodging, isn’t allowed by ArenaNet’s macro policy.
… what? You just bind dodge to a mouse button in the menu. Why would you ever want to bind double tap to a mouse button? Why would you even want to use double tap period, all it does is ruin your experience. Jump puzzles for example become impossible, you’ll dodge all over the place like a drunk hippo.
Also, you dodge in the direction you’re moving in. If you dodge while standing still you do it backwards. Easy to dodge sideways/front from standing still as well, just use WAD.
(edited by Dawdler.8521)
Didnt see it but might have missed it, is the stealth visual glitch unique to Mesmer or apply to everyone (well, everyone being Thief and Mesmer)? I mean when you got the stealth indicator, but no visual stealth on your character. I dont play my Thief anymore so I cant remember
To illusionary leap you should also add that even within range (often when popping it right after seeing the range indicator go away), the clone fails to spawn, let alone run to the target. Happens to me at least a third of time trying to use iLeap.
They should add a line-of-sight check on the arrow cart and be done with it.
They should have made the arrowcarts fire like the catapults and the trebuchets – aim by manually rotating the cart, fire in an arc by charging – and be done with it. No more line of sight issues, no more instant response, no more 2-3 AoE circles from one cart, no more FoV hacks.
That’s pretty neat.
Unfortunetly this Glovepie is essentially a macro application for rebinding the Wii movements to keyboard/mouse controls. I’ve been infracted numerous times previously for mentioning far, far simpler keybind changes than that.
So good luck with this. Still very neat. If only I had a Wii controller, lol
I already have an asura/charr mesmers and had a hard time justifying the norn.
You can always justify a Norn.
There is nothing to fix as It’s not “broken” as is evidenced by many players that actually have them.
Now if you want to request that they change the method (or add another), that is a valid discussion.
TBH, if casual “poor” players (which includes me) could get a Legendary easily, they would not be very “Legendary”.
There is nothing legendary about legendary weapons except the legendary amount of gold required to obtain one. And as we all know that only requires a legendary swipe of a credit card.
They are skins..
Not entirely true after they changed them to account bound ascended with the choice of stat swapping…
But otherwise, yes they are far too expensive for their worth. Anet should have bumped up loot (especially T6 materials) a long, long time ago. We cried and yelled and cried some more but they havent done anything about it. Now, all T6 is pretty much up to 50+ silvers. I remember the good old days when you could get them under 20. With the amounts needed, the prices are insane. Anet could fix it by injecting the economy with some much needed stimulation but… nope. They arent doing it. Why? Because it make people do that legendary swipe of the credit card you’re talking about.
But you know what? That is what is keeping GW2 alive. If you have played for over a year gathering loot and materials and want to get a legendary – including the most expensive ones – then the possible additional cost is minor if you where to compare say a subscription game. Seriously, it is. Anets gemstore philosophy is based on the fact that many people does this. Sure there are some people that spend way, way too much (far more than what a subscription would have cost them) but the majority dont. They either work hard for that legendary or they dont get it. Maybe some decide to spend $40 to get the gold needed, maybe some decide to spend $140. Its still nothing compared to 9 years of WoW subscriptions that isnt going to get a you a bow that shoot unicorns. At least I dont think they’ve made one yet?
TL;DR
Anet isnt going to fix it and the game will go on just like normal.
To give some perspective, by buying ESO (hey I had high hopes for it) and paying for just a few months extras, I’ve probably spent the eqvivalent of 700 gold on it (!!!).
I did some fancy calculation once that your average sized guild raid of 30 Mesmers that stack to heal could recover 20 people from 0 to 20,000 HP in a second or two… And they can do it again within a couple more seconds.
So yeah… beat that yelling Warriors!
I have a Warrior I have played alot longer than my Guardian (but both maxed of course, ignoring ascended) but the strange this is… I have always felt like I performed better on the Guardian regardless of role in WvW (dont play either in PvE) and find it much more fun overall to play.
Not the Warrior isnt fun to play, its just not the same kind of fun.
Or maybe I am just enjoying my poledancing Asura way too much.
Has anyone thought about how nice it would be if Anet actually acknowledged the megaserver problem…
…And at least gave Divinitys Reach back to us?
Instanced per server, make it the new “HQ” and add all the stuff from Lions Arch (just abandon the city already, its dead jim). Of course that would include a grand mystic toilet, fractals gate, WvW staging area, etc. Remodel some areas to be more culturally influenced (ie lots of Charr/Norn/Asura/etc come to live there, place a raisin faced asuran kid by the DR bank or something) and place the lion statue in the central plaza, to remind us of poor LA.
Guesting to another servers DR would of course still work.
The weapon stats isnt exactly going to bring down your entire build, you can easily pick something “close enough”.
What’s actually missing from Legendaries is the ability to choose sigils just like you choose stats.
Spell effects are perfectly fine.
If you look close enough, you can clearly see Dwaynas private parts ^ ^
There is no “best” armor. Different builds, different playstyles demand different armor. You like berserker? Go with it then. I know I wouldnt because zerker sucks if you want even the slightest survivability when running outmanned in WvW.
Go back to the Charr forum.
But my Mesmer is a Norn
That’s not a good thing really, just a thing. Mods are mods, not devs. They don’t have any relation.
True, but when a kitten just want to be scratched, it doesnt matter if its from a hand or rubbing against a stool.
You didnt hide your bump well enough, lol.
Infractions… Ah I remember the good old matchup forums. Lost count of how many silly infractions I got. I am particularly fond of the infraction where I used a couple of capital words when quouting someone that used all caps… And got an infraction for breaching the forum posting rules. When I asked why, they refered to the all caps rule.
Unfortunetly for both me and the OP, posting about posts/threads that’s been moderated is also covered by the code of conduct and subject to infraction. So there you go, another one is most likely on the way. But dont worry about it. Its just tough love from Anet.
And look at the bright side – if you do get an infraction of moderator notice about this post, that means moderators are looking at the Mesmer forums!
(edited by Dawdler.8521)
Shatter or PU will do nicely, with shatter being the strongest oomph build the Mesmer has (excellent in havoc squads). Gear depend on what you want to do. Staff is a very defensive weapon and used best as an in your face initiatior role (get in, pop chaos storm, preferably proc inside it by leaping away, etc). If your squad doesnt have a Thief you need the GS to slow down runners instead.
Veil shouldnt really be needed, but its always nice to have available. I prefer using mass invisibility, barely even see anyone use timewarp anymore. Again, it really depend on your squad. Skilled players bring their own methods to stomp and wont need timewarp.
How do I beat a thief in sPvP?
If its organized (TS/premade) I ask a buddy to come and kill him with me. I’m there to win the game, not boost my ego by trying to solo kill the most evasive class in the game.
If its random, I hope he is a worse player than I am.
Yep, that simple.
Oh why do all mesmer’s want to go PU as a long time mesmer i hate PU builds its one reason i find it hard to get a fight one on one in WvW and if i do and win i get messages like oh a PU mesmer how original well i never have or will run PU far better builds out there.
“Far better builds”? For roaming? Like what? Shatter is very good but if you want to survive when a guild/zerg comes rolling over you the evasion of PU is better. Phantasm? HA! Dont make me laugh. A Phantasm build get crushed if the enemy roamers arent complete idiots and is worthless against a zerg. Lockdown? Yeah… Most roamers are designed with high mobility to counter that.
Of course its a cheezy build. All roaming builds are made to win a fight and if they meet a roamer that’s better (or a group/zerg), they’re also designed to survive. PU builds are appreciated because they balance this perfectly, even if other builds are better at certain situations. Pick any class and you’ll find that cheeze build. Theives, Warriors, Necros, everyone got them.
Well except Ranger.
Ranger got nothing but a kittened pet.

Hey everyone, I just wanted to let you know that we are aware of the lag issue and that people are working on it. It’s possible that one of the sandstorms got a few geodes lodged in the servers
, but they will find out and fix it as soon as possible. Hang in there with us, and thanks for being patient!
If geodes lodged in the servers can affect their functionality, then the servers must have moving parts. It cannot be fan related, because if they stopped and the server overheated it would shut down rather than start having hiccups. This can only mean one thing.
Hamster wheels confirmed.
A little bit of everything to achieve as close to 2K/2K/2K power/prec/tough and 200% crit as I can. Why? Because zerker bores me just as much as soldier and condition damage does. Granted condition gear can achieve decent hybrid builds but I find it too random to use on my mesmer. Puts too specific demand on sigils, runes and weaponry. Zerker limit your role in WvW to a one trick pony and Mesmers are already in a bad situation there. Soldier is just… ugh… unless you want to command or run as a serious tank, you cant kill crap with it.
Having a balanced setup allow me to roam, raid and PvE on the same gear. Traveler runes of course so you dont want to smash your head in your keyboard every time your Mesmer is sluggishly trying to hobble forward at snail pace.
Its not perfectly optimal for every situation but it works.
(edited by Dawdler.8521)
-Open pvp in a variety of WvW maps, many that utilize EXISTING pve maps
How neat wouldnt it be with a new full size WvW map with parts of the PvE world visible through the mists, connected by a series of portals/platforms. Like, one moment your in Hoelbrak, only to go through a portal and have a grand 50v50 battle inside Fort Trinity, then move through another portal and have to fight a battle against entranched foes in the Frostgorge Dredge tunnels followed by a huge battle on the open fields surrounding Fort Salma… which of course is topped by the next area that is the central part of the Black Citadel.
So yes, there is wasted potential there.
Anet keep saying that making a new map take time but come on…
They could just take entire Divinitys Reach and make a WvW map out of it. A spawn triangle (NW, S, NE) and off you go for WvW battles inside a city. Can you even fathom the awesome?!?!
The thought is good… but its not GvG.
You have to realize that GvG isnt simple PvP. Because that’s what you describe, PvP with a set number peeps on each team, fighting in an instance with a fixed objective in order for the system to determine who won so that they can be rewarded approprietly. In fact, you’re describing tournaments with 20v20.
GvG is so much more.
How exactly would Anet create set of requirements for determining who won a GvG in your implemention? Because last time I checked, GvG was definetly not about total annihalition. Imagine if in a boxing match, the winner beat down the looser and kept beating him until he’s dead. Because that’s what a GvG ingame system would require – a fixed winning condition. The death of your opponents. All of them. You cant have any kind of flexible rules here or it would be unfair to other GvGs.
In real GvG, the winners win whey know they’ve won just as well as the loosers know they lost. You do not dishonor the entire guild by stomping your foes needlessly. This is incredibly flexible with no clear ruleset. The rules are what the guild leaders have decided for that fight, not the same as previous or future fights.
The instance idea is particularly flawed. One of the really big pros with open world GvG in the WvW areas is that they can be very flexible. Bring 20 peeps to battle, maybe you want to swap out 5 of them after a couple of rounds? Maybe you want to swap out everyone. Maybe only 19 has come and you decide to 15v15 if the opponent agree to it. Maybe someone disconnect and need to be replaced. Etc and so on. Having some sort of roll call and then entrance to a instance… it wouldnt work. It would be just like instanced PvP – you never know how many actually join and the odds are always stacked against you (of course). Getting everything going properly is going to take hours and probably fail anyway… People wouldnt want to GvG with such a system, I assure you.
The instance thing would also miss one of the most fun parts of GvG – fighting in public. Having an audience. Sure GvGers might be able to play just fine without an audience, buts its going to be boring as hell for the community. Again, it would be just like PvP. The combat take place hidden in the mists. No one to see, no one to hear.
TL;DR – Your tournament style GvG implementation is impossible to implement.
At best, I can imagine a “Guilds” tab in WvW where guilds may choose to be listed and their capable players count, while guild leaders on other servers have a quick command for communication with these listed guilds so that they can organize a GvG. Just allow guild leaders to set status on their own guild – “fully scheduled”, “open for GvG anytime”, “raiding tonight on EB”, whatever.
This would not only be intended to assist GvG, but more to bring guilds into light for all three servers to see. For some community spirit, give everyone a +1 token per server or something each week they may put on their favorite guild (but you cant put it on your own guilds), increasing its popularity rating. I really miss not being able to give thumbs up every now and then, even to the enemy.
(edited by Dawdler.8521)
We know for a fact that some accounts can get “cursed”. The RNG generator has proven that previously with a very known glitch that bring the issue to the surface – unable to get anything but bronze and silver in events that you solo from beginning to end while other characters get gold by accidentally doing a couple thousand damage to a mob before the event ends. It’s happened to peeps in my guild and was only resolved when Anet did something to their accounts.
You can never have too much chocolate.
I dont get it?
So someone is selling arah. I can quickly join with 2 guys, boot him and then take my friends there?
Simple solution to that:
If the leader of a party leave or disconnect the leader role (and instance ownership) will transfer to next in line.
If the party leader is kicked by another member of the party then the instance automatically end.
Just as harsh as before (I mean there could be a reason for needing to kick the instance owner…) but with the added instance survival if the leader ragequit or try to troll the group at the end (or just plain disconnect).
Just remake the iLeap clone to a special phantasm and change the initial fast-walk to an actuall warrior leap. Much more HP, low damage, when killed with anything but a shatter, he pop a small static field, immobilizing nearby foes. Teleporting to it of course make it go boom and same static field.
Result?
iLeap doesnt even have to be successfull for them to be immobilized and it would still work perfectly fine in zergs. Yes, it would be both weaker and stronger but point is, it doesnt really work in its current implementation. This “bugfix” only break it further.
i think travelers kinda gimps condi pu. Mesmer is too slow to roam without it.. So, not sure what the fix to this is.
… the fix is direct damage PU :p
Warrior may be more selfish when building for it but my god can they tank when they set their mind to it. Seriously, a Guardian you at least try to interrupt. A regen Warrior tank is… ugh…
My PU Mesmers is the type of character that can burn down pretty much anything to half HP in seconds but full regen tank Warriors are impossible. All damage you apply to them is instantly recovered. 100% – 90% – 100% – 90% – 100% – 90% that’s how it goes and about as fast as you can say it. 1K+ regen per second or somewhere around there.
I’ve even been in situations where we where two Mesmers on TS fighting one of these Warriors and still it was like trying to punch through his armor with a wet noodle.
That said, I am still fairly certain that Guardian is the best group tank.
Indeed, it would make for some fun. Rain, storms, fog etc… But lets get real here. Its WvW we’re talking about. I dont think we’ve actually settled on a time-between-suggestions-to-implementions average yet. Its still 2 years and counting.
It has an impact on how the games code understands your character. The game needs to know what choices you have made, it doesn’t matter if it never impacts on the game after that point, the coding still requires that those choices were made.
The “race change” in instances is purely cosmetic, all the game does at those points is change your physical appearance, all of your personal story information and the way NPC’s would respond to you out in the open world would still treat you as your original race.
I get what you’re saying, yes it would be super easy for them to cosmetically change your race, but the game engine needs more than just the cosmetic change. If they left all your personal story past choices intact then there would be a huge discontinuity since your race is no longer what it was, and simply saying that your past is a mystery is incredibly problematic in a game that is very much story and lore based.
It’s not going to happen, there is a reason it hasn’t already happened. It’s nowhere near as simple as you seem to think and I’m not going to argue it anymore. Good luck
I believe you missed my point where the choices have already been made. Race change doesnt change anything. The choices will still have been made.
A Norn that has race changed into a Charr would still be treated as a Norn you say? Yes, that’s exactly my point. He should be. Because that Charr was raised by the Norn and taken in by the Norn as a Norn. He may look like a Charr, but they dont judge. Poor thing was found as a baby in the woods, whatever story you want to make up. That Charr later grew up and played with Norn kids and he was treated as a Norn in everyway except his “wierd” appearance. As an adult, all the Norns basicly see him as a Norn, but he is a Charr. Then of course, he does the personal Norn story, despite being a Charr. And you end up with a level 80 Charr that has done the Norn personal story – your race changed character.
Besides, they wont be treated differently by NPCs. NPCs probably see race as a integer number. Most have no idea what your personal story is – those characters are in the story instances, which you’ll never see again because its impossible. They just see 1 – Charr. So they greet you like a Charr. Changing that 1 to a 2 is no less of a problem than drinking a potion that make you into a chair.
(edited by Dawdler.8521)
No there will never be a race change option. Arenanet have directly stated that their systems don’t have the capabilities to support this.
It is a LOT more complex than people seem to think. Even if you make it so that the character has to have completed the personal story the game still needs to know which paths to assign them to, which it can’t do without letting the player make those choices, which would require replaying the entire storyline, which is akin to creating a new character from scratch.
Dawdler, that doesn’t solve any problems because it makes no sense from a lore perspective to say that they skipped that arc because they were “raised as adoptive race” (and don’t go saying that a gender change makes no sense because it actually doesn’t raise any problems whatsoever.) And that story text is more than just story text because every single path the player chose has been coded into the game and affects a lot more than what text is shown to you in your story panel. Unless you have direct experience coding in a AAA MMO then you don’t really have any clue how much effort it takes for them to put each tiny bit of code in game. Heck, they had to give an NPC in one of the living story cutscenes an identical response over and over again just because to put in the code for her to have a unique response each time would have been ridiculously complex.
Lol what are you even talking about?
When the story is done its done. Finito. Ended. Not coming back. It has zero impact on your character past some words in your character screen and some achievements.
You want an even simpler solution? Fine, that’s been suggested in the past too. When you race change on a character that has completed the personal story, you’re greeted with a big text saying “Your past is a mystery” when clicking your personal story page. That is all.
And no, I dont have to code AAA MMOs to know its very possible if devs just add this functionality. In GW2 you already “race change” at multiple instances of the game. In fractals you turn into a Charr. You can turn into a Quaggan too.
Hell you can even change into a kittening chair. Hows that for lore?
I’m a little surprised you did not argue cultural gear though. Everyone always does that instead, crying over lost gold. Dumped in your inventory, account bound, still race bound, soulbound on equip. That way you can move it to another character of your old race. But you have to accept the loss otherwise and get new gear for the new race.
no sorry dont think so . Each race has its own Living Story / Personal story they go thru that wouldnt work
And as usual:
- Character must have completed main story or race change is not allowed. No resets, no issues with story choices.
- First arc is changed to state that player “was born new race but raised as adoptive race”, which is the reason for them having completed adoptive race story background. Adoptive race never changes even if you keep changing race.
Problems solved and its integrated into the personal story.
But whatever, there will be dozens posting here that its not possible with some flimsy excuse that story text no one ever look at wont match. Oh the horror.
Just go for the easiest part. Get a GTX 780, its about triple the raw performance of the HD6950. Just keep in mind to look for one with custom cooler such as the Asus DirectCU and Gigabyte Windforce solutions etc… They are much, much better than stock.
Then of course, the CPU is absolute crap. AMD hasnt done anything good for gaming in years now. Cheap and efficient yes, but never powerful. You want at least an unlocked i5 with a big fat cooling tower slapped on it (dont go for fancy “water cooling” package such as Corsair, its crap. A good with Noctua 120mm fans – whisper quiet and good OC capabilities).
And lastly, get an SSD. You dont have a gaming computer today without an SSD. Or two. Or three for that matter if you want to get fancy.
That’ll get you running GW2 at minimum acceptable quality at least.
Would be good if they made it so you need to be lvl 30 or 40 to enter queue.
Why such arbitrary levels?
If we assume that any upscale is pretty much only useful as a siege camper, supply carrier, backline zerg cannonfodder or possibly scout (that’s going to be cannonfodder if he engage anything) then why 30 or 40? By that time you may not have all your skills, but you should be more than proficient with the basic class and he will perform all these roles just as well as a level 10.
I could maybe see some point with it at 5/10 to allow players to get their bearings in PvE first, but I fail to see the point of dragging it out to 30/40. So what’s your argument for it? Aside from the fact it “would be good”.
To post a pic I made almost a year ago now the last time we had a long, long discussion about this. The slider is actually the color slider which would change color as you move it, I regret not having a description lol. It was just to illustrate one way of doing it.
Anet ignore everything that has to do with commander however. Its been suggested since release and the response from devs is always “we dont want to give you some shoddy solution to this, we need to have it 100% perfected!” and then proceed to probably not even start prototyping it.
If you play Mesmer you can unsheathe smoothly out of combat without triggering an attack animation by popping shatter (3s cd or something, wont ever sheath it unless you want too)
lots of good guilds left the server and Piken went from 4th place last year to 14th this year…
2nd place, not 4th. Held 3rd place for quite a while, but could never match the coverage of other servers.
Just salvage them all and sell yellows/exotic. Salvage low price yellows only if you are feeling lucky.
If they could just fix sword 3 I would be soooooo happy. Screw stairs, it doesnt even work on flat terrain within range half the time
A server chat per map sounds fine but entire world? It would be so abused we wouldnt even see normal chat anymore. Definetly will not click that +1 for the pleasure of being spammed to oblivion.
