Living story was a colossal failure, even in revenue terms.

Presumably you have data to back up this “fact”?

Obviously I don’t but the gem store items available during LS were only available to a limited amount of players, for a limited amount of time.

Those items could/should have been available to any player when they have the time to play that content.

Why?

And still how would that show that Living Story is a failure? …Even in revenue terms…

I have missed alot lot of cool stuff in other MMO’s becouse I don’t play them very much… That’s how MMO’s work, they change and we have to live with it.

GW2 Stealth

If they fix this I hope stealth get’s a nerf on the graphics. With that I mean stealth should not make you invisible but more like Predator invisible. Stand still and you blend in to the background, move and you will have a harder time to blend in. Target will still not be able to be targeted and channelings will loose the target but if the players has a keen eye he/she can se the enemy and track him/her.

Gold seller pm's

First of all, Anet has made something about it but they can not wave around with their magic wand and make them dissupear. But players could stop buying gold, that way there would not be any profit and they would stop.
In the beginning of GW2 there where no means of reporting gold-spammers but there is now.

My theory why there is so much goldsellers now is that ESO was just released and it is overflowing with goldsellers, it is seriusly sick and to top the cookie with some cream there is no easy way to earn money in ESO so I think many players falls into their clutches. They have earned much money on ESO and has that game covered and are using the leftover reasorces to poison GW2 and maby other games.

Anyway saying that the companies does nothing is bull, since they hate gold-sellers more than we do.

Aww, so cute.

There are 99 problems with this game, but the combat ain’t one of them.

The only thing missing from making it to 100 is 1, and that’s they key most people use in this game. Thankfully the trait rework addressed this issue, no wait, that was some other game I was thinking of :P

Don’t get me wrong I did use my other skills but I’d always get to a point and usually early on in this game where I’d just go “Eff it!” and just hit 1 until we’d get to a champ or boss, something I’d never do in the prequel. I think it’s just because at the end of the day the skills in this game are much less fun (for me at least). Look at elites, I couldn’t wait to get them initially but when I finally did I kept waiting for some unlock while I levelled that would make them actually elite. This unlock never happened

As they are, most elite skills could be renamed as Bozo skills. They have been designed with flashiness instead of competence in mind I think. I mean, if they had a sniper profession in this game, it’s elite skill would be a neon disco aoe effect to give away your position, a close range stabby one or a pet.

Non flashy elites but very effective depending what you play:
Polymorph Moa
Mass Invisibility
Glyph of Elementals
Conjure Fiery Greatsword
Summon Flesh Golem
Plague
Lich Form
Basilisk Venom
Thieves Guild
Rampage As One
Spirit of Nature
Entangle
Signet of Rage
Renewed Focus

All these elites can turn the tide pretty massively and are wonderfull skills.
Sometimes it feels like those who just do 1-1-1-1 is pretty bad at this game.

No matter how you change traits or do anything it wont change the fact you are still auto attack killing mobs as warrior (excluding orr) in the 99% of the time. And no trying to perform to do better is not needed…it kind of performs as well as dodging and jumping and healing and kitten….

If you truly want aachange in what yo are dooing yyou need a certaint trit build with certaint gear and stats and food and kitten…without those conditions (that are takes time even after 80 , like farming epic kittens in wow or dunno what they do now, but atleast there you can change to dps from healer without them….but here you cant) you will still do the same 3-4 kitten …..

Somethimes i feel the game more simple then lol.

I dunno how you play, but I have to go 1-3-F1-5-1-7-1-4-F1-§-1-2-4-(8)-§ when I play my Zerker warrior… Sure I can go 1-1-1-1-1 and still survive when fighting one or two regular enemies at a time but at the end i still need the other skills. In dungeons I would be hated if I don’t use my knockdowns, shouts and banner or if I die becouse I didn’t use endure pain.

In other MMO’rpgs with trinity, when I play a dps hunter I stand away and press Macro-Macro-Macro-Macro-Macro-Macro.
When I play healer I watch the UI and goes Full heal(Tank(s)), HoT(Tank(s)), Small heal(Tank(s)), HoT(Tank(s)), Full Heal(Tank(s)), Group heal and move if needed.
When play Tank I mostly stand my ground or pulling boss to specific location and/or agro incomming trash. So… all in all the one who does something realy tough is the Tank.
I as in me I am realy tired of the same old Trinity and I am so pleased with what Anet have done with GW2 battle, I was sceptic at the beginning but now I am pretty happy with it even though I feel there can be more work to it.

I don’t care if you call me a blind fan but I have reasons to disagree.

First of all, I have noticed since I started playing this game (At 3 days head start) that the devs for this game is listening to the community more than any other MMO I have played. I have also noticed that Anet does pretty much everything that the community wants, but I guess your problem is that they don’t do what you want.

I love the idéa that there is no trinity, I like the battle mechanics in this game compared to other MMO-rpgs where most of the battles are pretty stationary.

I can agree that with no Trinity we get the problem with Zerg Meta and rushing/stacking but this is something I am sure Anet is working on as we speek but I am pretty sure it’s not just that easy and I am also sure they wont give in and implement that stupid Trinity system and make this game to another bad clone of other MMO-rpgs.

Until then if you think it is so booring pressing 1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1 try build your classes with other stats and try out some new traits… Try to build your own Build and se how it works.

‘My friends left and I am too’ : Well maby it’s like this; they are your friends, you and your friends share more or less the same interests and pretty much agree with much you say to eachother. Many of my friends have left also but they like a different type of games than I do, Though I still have lots of friend still in this game and they share the same interest that I do.

Also don’t base statistics on what is said on the forums… Most people who likes the game iether don’t bother to comment on posts like this or they rather play the game than spending their time on the forums. On the other hand, people that are displeased but like the game voice their opinions on the forums and with that it sounds like the game is just bad everywhere.

Yes, they have and they will continue to listen. I have seen many wishes for this update, I know many who welcomes this and I am very impressed over how well it has worked since I was expecting more bugs on such a big Feature update.

It’s not all perfect yet but I know that they do listen to us, as long as we give constructive feedback and sorry to say this but this post is not realy sparkling with it… I see two people I see who has given constuctive feedback… I agree with Redenaz and disagree with Lyssan.

Anyway, keep it up Anet and thanks for a wonderfull game.

I havent read all posts here but a few… It sounds to me that MegaServers isn’t to blame but the Event’s… MegaServers makes more players to get to gather and do events and succeding that and that is what players want but by compleating the defending events results to never or rarely other events to start. So what Anet needs to do (atleast for these events in Orr) is so that these defend event’s automaticly fails or rather after 2 or 3 succesfull defends 3 or 4th time there wont be an event only Undead attacks and takes it all over and you can’t do anything about it.

Autorun toggle irritation

Agree with OP, if I understand it correct. Autorun should activate as soon as you press that button and everytime you push is.

But why in the world do you auto-run from a battle? In this game it is good to have an irregular movement to avoid some attacks. … We all have our seperate playstyle, but I must admit I think it is pretty uniqe, no?

I never use normal running, only in special occasions. Why on earth would you want to press “w” all the time while you could be pressing more important buttons in a fight? And yes, you understand me correctly. It should ALWAYS activate, it would be like a break that doesn’t work as it should in a car.

As I said before we all have our different playstyles so I won’t argue to why you use Auto-run instead of W but as you asked the question ‘Why would I use W all the time while I could be pressing more important buttons’. Well, W is probably the most used button on my keyboard but I (Notice I say I) wouldn’t be able to move how I desired with Auto-run enabled like that since I don’t run strait forward when I fight, I strafe, I back up, I run farward+strafe, I run in circles and stuff… So I would be totaly disoriented by using Auto-run as a feature in battle. I use auto-run when I am safe running from point A to B and feel like chatting or have to go turn the lights on or quick stuff like that

It says ’ to everyone who logs in between the launch of the Feature Pack and 11:59 p.m. PT Wednesday, April 16 ’.

Edit: I forgot to say… So I guess the update should come around 12.00 p.m. PT Today.

They are giving until midnight the next day to log in.

Yea I know but for example, two updates ago some parts of europe got our update when we where sound asleep So it would be unfair if this happened again since that would mean that we don’t get ~24h to log in to get our stuff :P So what I mean is that they probably is planing to release the patch around 12.00 p.m. PT Today so that there will be as near 24h as possible. That’s only a theory but I beleave it

At the moment I think scarfs and capes wont be an option becouse of clipping and stuff

I would realy like scarfs like ‘Shinobi’ for my thief… I hope some day
Anyhow, there are always comming new armors now and then… Backpacks are lots but I guess they are easier to make so thats why there is loads of them

Edit: O btw, to get a hood for your thief. Create a new thief… On the first “story” choises choose the one that will give your thief a hood. As the new system is going live today I am not going to explain how to give it to your other characters.

aren´t charges dropping from various rewards like stones used to? And anyway, playing many alts, don´t you have an abundance of those just from map completions right now?

You get and will get transmugation from map compleations yes… I think you can get them from daily (Not sure). Some personal quests grants you these too.
You can buy gems for gold and I think you can get charges from BLT Chests too.

PvP will start to reward these too now.

New Transmute Costs Bad for Leveling Players

Ok, I have played since the 3-day headstart but anyway I have always used transmugation stones on all my 8 chars while leveling them to level 80.
Even though I have used around 30 stones per character while leveling them I still have over 180 stones left. (I have never bought a Transmugation stone)

I guess it depends on how you play the game too but if you don’t explore the maps but instead you just powerlevel in dungeons or champ farming or whatever… I dunno, imo you have to work a little to deserve some flavor ^^

Oh I remeber I didn’t bother to use Transmugation stones until much later … since I didn’t know how easy it was to get Transmugation stones.

Dunno… I googled 11.59 p.m. PT and compaired it to my timezone before I posted before and well… With my bad calculations I ended up around 21.00 at my time and as Morrigan says, we have always (eccept for one time) had the updates around 19.00 and 21.00 here…

Auto Loot Needs to be Reworked

I don’t agree with OP.

This mechanic was introduced in lotro when RoR expansion went live I think it was and I don’t like that at all.
It will be good for farmers and it will make players just rush the game even more.
In lotro when I play my Rune-Keeper (OP Ranged class) I run through an area killing everything I see without stopping and get loot all the time. When I run through newbie zones I kill whatever is in my line of sight and gets loot and sometimes I get neat special keys. In PvP I tag as many enemies as possible with AoE’s and then I can go back to safety, sit back and rest and gain Millions of loot.

Also this overflow back Lotro has is stupid, I can go farm for an hour without having to go and sell… I just fill overflow bag and when I am done I sell, refill my bags from over flow, sell some more and over and over again. Overflow bag is in my opinion an extra super big bag and with this … why do we need more bags?

Megaservers: Give us a choice.

This system is made so that instead of having a bunch of near dead versions of the same map that can’t complete anything due to low population it instead puts all those players into a single full map then starts another version when needed.

Explain how this fixes population.
Dead map is still dead when merged with 20 other dead versions. It does not in any way fix the inherent problem that there is still no reason to be on those maps. They are dead for a reason. So instead of 1 person on the map, you might have 8 or 9. Yeah, that doesnt sound like a fix, but rather a quick-patch that looks like its doing something its not.

I think I play on a medium server (Gunnars Hold) and I am usually doing exploring while doing my daily or playing with friends and I do play on low pop maps alot and almost every time I see 2-4 players during 10 min playtime there. If I where to play with numbers … In EU servers there are 14? English speaking servers and multiply them with 2-5 (= 28-70 players on one map) and that is quite a good amount of players on one low-pop map compaired to now.

Edit: @Morrigan; I have been active since 3-days headstart and I have seen topics asking to fix the overflows and the low-pop maps. Also I have complained about this, not on forums though but on map-chat and in the guild.

Said it before many times on related threads and will again. Try it first, THEN give feedback. The whole point of feedback is to do it AFTER something, not pre emptive. If indeed the system has its flaws then they will be shown and they can be improved. They will be only implemented in PvP and a few select zones first to test it anyway.

Relax.

While that is normally good advice can you honestly say they ever reversed some of the things that in retrospect might not have been such a good idea?

For a change of this magnitude they should really have put up a feedback thread before- so people could voice their concerns- not say oh btw come patch this will happen.

@Nage – I play on Gunnar’s Hold

There is a reason to why they released information about the feture update in chunks instead of all at once and my guess is that was to be able to get feedback for one chunk at a time. And due to our feedback they have changed their approach on Megaservers already.

I also play on GH and it realy needs MegaServers and I bet that we will not be affected by this at all since we are quite low pop server. Most all players from our server will be put on the same maps anyhow, the difference is that there will be more players on the maps from other servers.

The only negative playerbase I support about megaservers atm is WvW players since their reqruitments and Strategyplans can get difficult.

We have adept to what we have now and overflows, as Nage says this sounds to be better for servers and it may be a good sulution we just has to adapt and find new ways of reqruiting and plan our strategies. I though hope and have suggested about a global chat.

Score doesn’t mean a thing…
You can be a very good player and be unlucky and Zerged during the whole match. This will result for you to have a low score and a rookie player could run around the map capping or something and get quite lots of score.

Actually rank usually shows how much PvP you have played atleast. But as for me I have rank 30 and I have only done Hot-joins, I don’t think I would be good at all at teamQ.

But @ OP’s post, that realy is some nasty matchup.

I haven’t blocked anyone accept for goldspammers but they have never whispered me or something else since I block them.

So I dunno what you mean realy. Dosen’t The block/Ingore work? Or how does it work in GW2 compared to other games Ignore? I just wanna know since if I block someone in the future I would want that one blocked and Ignored.

Wait, the looks in PvP are going to be set back to default? Where did it say that?

It does’t say that… That I know of.

That is exactly what I mean with what I said in the end of my second post here…
I dunno where it says that but they (a few players, mostly PvP players) are complaining about this. I have looked around abit but havent found anything about it, but logicly the PvP armor will transfer into the Wardrobe and loose the cosmetic as soon as you enter Heart of the Mist but we can hope that there will be a choice to convert your PvP cosmetic to your real armor for free. Or some other sulution I havent thought about.

Anyway, I havent seen any information about this but I could aswell have missed it.

A little late maby but…
I have read some posts about PvP players don’t like that they will have to Transmute their gear on patch day.

What if we could have the option to keep PvE cosmetic or keep PvP cosmetic for that character you log in with.

Why I am not suggesting that we would get 6 transmugation charges for free for every char is that not everyone will use them and save them and that is not the point for it.

I’m all for the choice, but for my own part it wouldn’t matter as my mesmer has both a PvP Phoenix skin and a PvE phoenix skin.. thus I’ll be losing one either way.

I don’t mind iether to be honest but I was thinking about these poor players who got the raw deal.

As far as I know, if you purchased gem store kins twice, you can ask support for a refund for one of them…
Just FYI.

That’s good but still… Even though you can get back the skin you used in PvP since it will be in your wardrobe those who played only PvP will have to use transmugation charges to get their looks back.

Again I am not affected by this and I also gonna add that I dunno actually what is going to happen with the PvP cosmetics you use when the patch goes live but I have seen the complaints so I had an idea for it.

I would want hotjoin to be random too… Not only the matchups is wonky but I sometimes do hotjoins with my girlfriend and well we don’t care if you end up on different teams but sometimes we don’t and when that happens we sometimes own enemy team … If other players are doing this and aim to come in friend groups or “The best” team… It’s not realy hot-join then is it?

And on other notes… I have only played teamQ once becouse a friend asked me too… I only play in Hot-join since I like to just do some quick PvP when I have a little time over to play. I am pretty sure I wouldn’t go PvP if Hot-join where removed.

Gold Seller Spam

If people stops buying gold from them it wouldn’t be a profit and we all can play the games without seeing gold-spam

But it is wierd though that some gets as many as OP and I have got only a few… Also it feels like it does not matter where you are, I got the last whisper during a match in sPvP. I am though glad that they have fixed a report a gold-spammer option and I thought that blocked out them from every chat for me, including whispers?

But gold-spammers is a problem in every game.

I have played since headstart and I have 8 level 80 chars…

What do I do?

- Living story; every two weeks (It’s on a season break atm) there is a story to follow and new stuff that happens, it usually keeps me entertained for a week and sometimes the whole two weeks.
- Dungeons; I do not do them too often but I rather do them with noobs than with elitists who just skip and stack, it get’s more interesting like that.
- Fractals; They are dungeons, I rarely do these but I know alot who does them as an endgame content and it is realy good rewards and with a good and friendly team it can be realy an awesome experience.
- Map Compleation; I have compleated 100% with my main char and with my alts I help out my friends and guild and at the same time I compleate map as I do that. It is quite rewarding too.
- Jumping Puzzles; I have done all Jumping Puzzles in this game, it took me quite a while but they gave me alot of joy.
- Meta Bosses and events; Like Tequatil, worm and the less-harder world bosses. They are quite nice to do for some extra loot or just for fun.
- Explore maps and find places you have never seen and do the so called Mini-Dungeons and stuff.
- Personal Story; Se the first chapter of the living story has a high veriety in story, create more characters and see how the story is for them all.
- Guild Missions; We do bountys and soon we have unlocked rush and I guess bigger guild has them all and they are quite fun.
- WvW Borders; It’s nice to go there with the guild.
- WvW EoTM; I usually go here when I wanna try my roaming WvW builds but sometimes there are some cool action there.
- sPvP; I mostly go Hot-join but this is what I do when I don’t have to much time to play, when I just wanna play for a little while.

I usually say that this game begins at Level 80, before that it is just tutorial.

We Need Transmutation Charges for sPvP??

To you who say that this is money grabbing from Anet…

- This is my opinion -
When I didn’t have level 80 with all my eight characters I used transmugation stones I got from compleating maps PvE, now all my chars are level 80 and I have more than 180 Transmugation stones and 8 crystals. I Have used store to get crystals but never to get stones… Stones are useless and was a bad deal for Anet so I don’t blame them for implementing a system to sell more Transmugations, BUT on the other hand now you will be able to earn usefull transmugation charges everytime you compleate a map instead of 3 stones that I guess many level 80 players have already thrown away since they where useless to them.

For PvP, not only that you will get 1 charge but I have seen a Transmugation Crystal picture on the rewards screenshot for PvP too so I am sure there will be enough Charges for PvP and PvE players without having to use Store that much. If you happen to like to change outfit every now and then you have to use the “convenience store” and by it for Gems… PvP isn’t about changing costumes all the time, it’s about being able to fight fair so claiming PvP should be albe to change outfit for free compaired to PvE players is bull imo.

Edit: Yea ofc I only mean it’s fair that changing Cosmetics in PvP costs charges. Not that it would cost to change stats and it doesn’t.

Why I like GW2:
- First of all, AreaNet Devs are awesome. Good presence, shows they are only human, kind and funny.
- World of Guild Wars, even though some people think GW2 story fails I think it is still good and a part of the epic Guild Wars story and I just wanna see more of it.
- The Living World concept, I just love how the story continues and doesn’t freeze in time like in all other game. I feel like I am a part of this world and as long as I play I see the world evolve.
- Crafting nodes for everyone, I just hate it in other games when someone is just a second faster than me and harvests my recourses :P
- Combat, I can’t expess how supriced I was over this wonderfull combat in this game. It is alive and aguile, it is never stale.
- None Holy Trinity, there are some flaws to this I agree to not having it but I realy hate The trinity system so with a year or two with more polishing to it I think Anet has it down perfectly.
- Not always but usually updates every two weeks is so awesome that you never have time to get tired of the game (Sadly though these weeks without an update has led to less online time for me).

There is more, but these where from the top of my head.

That I had to make choices in the personal story. Too bad this is totally gone with the LS.

I think it is hard to make possible but hopefully in the future, this is something I would like

I’m not understanding this. You can only get max 10 points or something from the dailies every day. What does Anet mean by putting a cap of 10,000 points?

How do you get that much every day?

It’s capped as maximum ever for dailies, so the real supporters of GW2 will be hit eventually.

Well think about it a a bit more…

MOST of the loot you get, as of right now, is salvage/vender garbage. You get all your crafting mats from just salvaging the greens/blues that no one uses or buy, then sell off your junk to venders. So all the loot right now is boring. Most people only get 1 exotic maybe once a day.

By removing the player driven economy, you can then increase loot drops in the game. Therefore you earn your t6 mats quicker, you get more exotics to get more ecto/matter/sigils through salvaging.

I’m pretty tired of this game being driven by gold. All the items are bought with gold, nothing is earned and its not a better game for it.

If this game was about cosmetic progression instead of vertical progression, there needs to be more ways to earn skins… not just farm for several hours for gold and then just buy it out. This is part of the reason why SAB TM weapons have higher value to them because they are inaccessible via gold, they are earned.

Sticking with the TP system means sticking with boring loot. It’s time to shift up to a loot version 2.0 like D3.

I see many cons to it too.

- When I am crafting I notice I need 1 more crafting mat, without the TP I have to go out and Farm some enemies until I find what I need.

- I have level 9 chars to level 80 and as I level I bought green and blue Armor at TP, whitout the TP I would have to Iether farm to get crafting mats or I would have to hope I get the right gear I want for my build.

- A few has said that GW1 works fine without TP. Well the constatly spaming of WTS/WTB in map chat (Even though there is a trading channel) is working realy good. And also imo the loot drops in GW1 was/is far from intresting and easy to get max tier mats.

- With the RNG in this game, I totaly loathe Scarlets Kiss but I think Scarlets Rainbow is awesome, now I can easely sell Scarlets Kiss and Buy me a Rainbow. Without TP I would have to live with the fact I was “lucky” and got Scarlets Kiss instead of Scarlets Rainbow. If we ware not able to trade them but if we where able to then se above reason.

Doing more dailies is not worthless. You get laurels each time. And there won’t be many people who will actually get to that cap of 10k. I think this change was necessary in order to make the ladderboard more competitive.

But what about the Daily done above five? If I reached the cap and I do more dailies than necessary…?

Sure I will probably do more dailies anyway when that day comes but it will be just like salvaging, like yay I got an achievement again… Eh why did it even tell me I got it, I don’t care… It does’t give me anything at all. If I get 0 points or an achievement I don’t have thats okay by me but why even tell me I get something when I don’t get something? For those who have been playing everyday and done many achievements it will be just a slap in the face everytime they get an achievement above five.

Well if you think about it, it is pretty basic. If you want it for PvE use it as normal but if you want it for PvP then convert it to PvP.

Until the 15 April PvE gear and PvP gear is two different sets, so use it as a PvE gear now.

On the 15 April you will be able to choose that outfit in PvP if you want.

It works the other way around so if you do PvP now, choose to convert it to PvP but then you can’t use it for PvE until the 15 April.

I didn’t delete the Norn. I just want to transfer everything to the new character. Exp boost, Miniature rytlock, the legacy armor. How do i use the mistfire wolf skin?

You guys said that there will be a wardrobe update so I get the armor again but the one I chose is the one for thief and I don’t think warriors or any other class can equip it.

If you havent “used” the armor, just find a bank en deposit all your stuff that usn’t soulbound.
But as you say… Yes the armor you chose can only be used by medium armor users, so don’t use the armor set and contact support and I think they will be able to help you.

And I couldn’t care less about how many points I have. If they reset them to zero after each achievement chest I earn, as long as I can still work towards the next one in line, I would be perfectly indifferent. Why should I and others like me have to be capped (and make my progress towards the next set of rewards slowed) because some people think it’s a race or worry about losing out forever or those who fret about some leaderboard.

You can currently get chests as far up as 24,500 AP. With the cap on dailies and monthlies you will be able to get 15 000 of those points from doing only dailies and monthlies.
And dailies and monthlies are far from the main source of APs in this game.

The first thing I thought about when I heard about the daily and monthly cap was; Well 15k AP is faraway to get but why would I even strive to get dailies done now? I go for dailies to get my Laurel ofc but also when I have got my five dailies I usually look to do the fun dailies for fun and for the small extra AP. Now I am not going to do the extra dailies becouse I don’t wanna reach the Cap to fast and ruining the daily achievements for the future.
I don’t like the cap, though I do not care that much if it goes but it is imo a bad decission.

I can understand OP… Never thought about that before since I never got that deluxe pack… I have the pre-order and the pre-order stuff I get with every new char I make.
They should be more cleared to what they mean, it says ‘Dress out your character’ though it is not saying ‘Dress out your characters’ it is pretty easy to missunderstand.

Anyway The update the 15th april won’t be ‘just wait until then and tadah you got it with all your chars’ since you must have transmugation charges and to get these you must compleate maps or buy with gems. In my case I wouldn’t worry since I gonna get more than 70 charges but as OP is a new player I guess he wont have many charges and why use them when he already paid for an armor.

As LordByron said, ask support.

The dps meta isn’t a flaw, it is how the game was and still is, what do you await in a game with no dedicated roles?

Then why even have any gear in the game besides zerker? Isn’t it quite mean and confusing for new players to offer them a ton of different stat combos on armor, only to tell them afterwards “lol sorry, all of that is crap, the only right way to play this game is zerker”?

Dungeons never can be fun because that’s how it is, you run something for rewards and use it as a farm, you get used to it and whatever beauty it has becomes meaningless and you are running it everyday.

What a sad, and untrue statement. You can enjoy things you do daily. I’ve immensely enjoyed dungeoneering in certain other MMO’s. I’ve also somewhat enjoyed Ascalon Catacombs before they were changed.

The key to enjoyable dungeons, in my opinion, is:

Interesting mechanics that are tough if you don’t know how to do them, but become easy and fun when you do know them.

In almost all of GW2’s dungeons and boss fights, that isn’t the case. You receive a massive amount of damage either way. Whether you die or not has often little to do with skill, but with 1-shot mechanics and random damage going out. “Dodge as much as you can, on every fight, in the entire game” isn’t a fun mechanic. Dodging is fun, but not as a substitute for actual mechanics.

I personally don’t care too much about dungeons, if they’re no fun to me, I just don’t run them, and still have other things to do in the game. The lack of permanent added content is a major, major buzzkill though, and really not just for me. It makes people leave, and it actually discourages them from coming back to the game.

When the Tower of Madness appeared people started to speculate what was going to happen and after the Tower of madness we can still see that something has happened there. Let’s not forget about Lions Arch, the whole finnish of the first Living Story.

Well, guess how amazing it feels if you weren’t there for the Tower of Madness, and now you come back to the game and you just see that Kessex Hills is ugly and ruined now, there’s nothing you can do about it, and you also don’t know why it happened. Oh, and Lion’s Arch is ruined and ugly now too, but again, I wasn’t there to see it happening, so it’s just kind of depressing, making me feel left out.

There is NO incentive for players to return to the game. You think “Oh, I’ve been gone for a year, surely there is tons of new content for me to play now in GW2! New events, new zones, new dungeons, yay!” And then you return, but there is nothing new. So you think “well … I guess I can just leave again, then.”

And the really sad part about this is, it’s not like arena.net has been lazy. As a returning player, you’d think that arena.net has been doing nothing for an entire year, zero has been added … when in fact, lots of stuff has been added, but it’s all already been removed?! They build their game up, then tear it down.

But that is just the charm of it too imo.
The story isn’t gone, you can always look it up and see what has happened, but players that has been present and participated in the events are rewarded and those who find the game boring and choose to not play once every to weeks does not get that reward. As I said, I hope there will be a way for old and new players to re-play the LS like small instance’s just for a recap. So as I said, the true charm is that the world lives on, time isn’t trapped, when things happen things happens and if you are not there you miss it. I like it like it is. It would have been worse if the event just stay for a few days but most of the time it’s there for two whole weeks so most players can participate.

WvW more like AvA

PvP = Player vs. Player WvW = Players Vs. Players Vs. Players with a hint of PvE.

People are complaining already as it is with envolment of NPC’s so I do think it would ruin it… I am not sure though but when I play WvW I do play to fight masses of other players not NPC’s.

Also this is Guild Wars 2 and not ESO, I am sure that a good amount of players like WvW better than AvA and another good amount likes AvA more than WvW so lets not change WvW to AvA… If you wanna play AvA … sorry I have to say it ‘You better play ESO until WvW is more enjoyable than AvA for you’.

This doesn’t mean I support 100% how WvW works atm though.

Let’s say I am one of those programmers from the community with a suggestion you like for example ‘I wanna make GvG in Guild Wars 2!’. Now you are the chief of Anet employes and you notice my post and say ‘Hey you wanna come work for us!?’. You kick sime programmers and you hire me and I make GvG a reality but no sPvP fixes. Then a mounth later or even less on the sPvP forums we can read ‘so basicaly Anet should hire people from the community and kick those crappy Anet employes?Cuz i am not seeing any improvement from Anet in this game’.

Do you see my point?

I think if Anet made the game you want, OP, most of the people playing the game would leave. The very stuff you see as “stuff to do”, I see as a waste of time.

It’s not the the game is bad or good. The game isn’t for everyone. It works for a whole lot of people and doesn’t work for other people.

Pretty much like every other MMO in existence.

You would stop playing if they fixed the PvE meta allowing for roles besides dps? If they made world events and bosses have a meaningful impact on the game word? If dungeons were fun and rewarding? If there was more armor skins to choose from that didn’t come from the gem store? If… give me a break

Everything in OP’s post are things that are really wrong with the game, and yet every post here is kissing anets kitten.

He didn’t ask for things like “oh I wish we had flying mounts” or “oh I wish we had open world PvP” or “oh I wish we could buy instant level 80 scrollls” etc…

I may be cuddling with anets cute little kittens :P But just as you are I am strongly supporting my opinion, this is not something I do becouse I wanna destroy the game I like, it is becouse I want to keep what I like in the game. Many of the points OP had is to make everything more rewarding wich will only lead to higher prices and more farming imo. The build Diversity point OP had is something I can agree with and if I am not mistaken I said something like that before. I do know (looking on Crit-damage change) that Anet is trying their best to fix this without ruining the game too much for zerker or anyone for that matter, but just look at the forums now with the Crit-damage change how much rage there is/was.

Some points OP has allready exist in the game and it just sounds like he/she hasn’t tried them or seen them. I also commented about his new zone where we could fight for resources but there is not much information about it so I would like to know more. I would want OP to make a new post about it and link it here, that way the Suggestion wont be lost in a ‘I will quit again post’.
