Fun?
If you don’t want anything from there and don’t enjoy them either, there is really no reason to be there.
I’ve put that set over my Phoenix armor. They better get me my old armor back if the new skin is that bad.
You get a gem refund, as confirmed by the post.
I know that I get a gem refund, but will my old armor be refunded as well? That costed 800 gems for me too. And according to the posts here they reskinned their t3 with this flamekissed armor set. So what if they wont refund old armor, those people will have to pay 119 again for t3?
1. Get refund.
2. Buy Splitters.
3. ?
4. Profit!
Yes, it was just fixed and I’m thankful.
Thanks, ANET.
I was there, and it was indeed problematic.
It is quite disappointing that this was so easily overlooked.
1-10
11-20
21-30
31-40
41-50
Did Cliffside yday, the exploit with stacking is still there.
^This is true, though it happens sometimes and some other it doesn’t.
A true Asura would never say “Swag”.
Why not just keep moving?
Did a lv 29 daily got bonus chest at jade maw, but then I did a lv 30 no bonus chest at all. I thought tiers are 10-19, 20-29,30-39…
It’s actually 1-10, 11-20, 21-30, 31-40, etc.
(I think!)
it will be broken 101% wis 10000 exploits in new fractals so im dont care.
…?
Would you prefer another back piece?
I’ve always liked backpieces and have a horde of Ascended materials in my bank, so yeah. By much.
They could make it so that a backpiece gives you the misty effect fractal weapons have or something.
You people really want to complain about everything, huh?
Maybe there are not-yet-fixed bugs, and I’d rather wait than play a corrupted version of the game.
My first skin was a GS and I was playing a warrior. Talk about luck.
I loved the live stream. Funniest thing I’ve seen so far. Lets get a sneak peak of the new fractals, shall we?
4. No enthusiasm
I’ve never seen anybody in any gaming company that’s that bored. If you want us to like the new instance and get us all excited then this wasn’t the way to go.Summon: What did we learn? Nothing. If that’s how they determinate if there are bugs in the instance no wonder most of the things ain’t working right. Thanks for the sneak peak
You clearly don’t know what a concentrated gamer looks like when he/she’s playing and enjoying a game.
As i said, Arena Net wanted Kiel to win
You do realize that data mining revealed that originally, Kiel was going to fund the Aetherblade fractal and Evon the Molten fractal? In which case it would have been a landslide win for Evon Gnashblade?
Do you really think they tried to set up a candidate, and then halfway through changed their minds?
Did you know that Kiel was originally going to be a man? Did you know that datamining means nothing at all, as nothing is official until it’s released?
Give it up, your candidate lost, your fractal was scrapped and nothing will change that.
(Also, I don’t like RNG, so that was another vote for Kiel).
It’s funny how everyone cries about could have beens and other possibilities that didn’t come to occur.
If Evon had won, and his content failed to meet players’ expectations, there would also be a wave of Kiel supporters spamming ‘I told you so’ threads.Arguing about could and might have beens is not productive, because there’s no way to prove anything. It’s like watching atheists arguing with creatonists all over again.
Nop, there wouldnt be a wave of kield supporters spamming i told you so, because they don’t care about fractal, they voted for Kield because of WP costs, Every one of us who actually cared about fractal voted for Evon. if abbandon didnt meet peoples expectation, then reactor will simply not either.
This is a perfect example of what I just said.
I can’t prove you wrong on this one because it didn’t happen. I can tell you how much I preferred the Thaumanova fractal over Abaddon’s, but that’s all I can do.
Since my vote won over yours, I can’t really tell what I or other Kiel supporters would’ve done if they had lost, nor can I tell how better (or worse) the Abaddon fractal would have been over Thaumanova. This is pointless.
It’s funny how everyone cries about could have beens and other possibilities that didn’t come to occur.
If Evon had won, and his content failed to meet players’ expectations, there would also be a wave of Kiel supporters spamming ‘I told you so’ threads.
Arguing about could and might have beens is not productive, because there’s no way to prove anything. It’s like watching atheists arguing with creatonists all over again.
Maybe they don’t expect anyone to reach 50?
I remember they said something like they expected 5% of the playerbase to beat Liadri, but the actual number was closer to like 60%.
If anything, Anet has shown a discouraging incompetence in gauging how “difficult” the player base finds content.
Now this doesn’t mean it can’t happen. They could totally be difficult content which takes groups weeks to figure out. But given their track record, I doubt it.
However, if they release something difficult enough to take weeks to be completed, they’ll have to endure an incessant, indomitable wave of whining from bad players.
-snip-
actually Kiel voters were claiming they expected it to do with Dragons, not Inquest.
Some Kiel voters = all Kiel voters.
More news at eleven.
The tower is not even meant to be solo’ed. So why exactly are you trying to do that?
I joined a PUG and we started to slowly aim for the top, cleaning everything along the way. We were wiped twice by a group formed by 1 elite, 2 veterans, some trash and plants respawn.
In my opinion when you can’t clean some content if you don’t meet some criteria (dps check, number of ppl, access to X boon/skill and so on) it means that it’s poorly designed.
And that opinion is yours. If there is no zerg in your server, the mobs won’t scale as hard, so you should be able to run past them if you bring a stunbreaker or two and a condition cleanser.
Logically speaking, OP is right.
Until they make it so that the dungeon doesn’t kick everyone when the host leaves the party, making the host unkickable would be a decent workaround.
lol, personally thanks to Meta-trains, I have almost twice as many Dragonite as Empyreal. Sadly they have decided that we can’t trade worthless things for worthwhile things (TOO MUCH BLOODSTONE BRICKS) so they just fill up our bank space…
Too much Bloodstone Dust… Too much.
I’m not really sure. I’ve guested to other servers to play with some friends and I’ve noticed the progress bar is ahead of behind the one we have in SF.
It’s interesting that the development of villians has been so poor in GW2 that are allies have to double up as enemies in the nightmare chambers.
It’s interesting that you don’t realise that fighting/killing off a friend is a widely used trope in vidya.
She kind of reminds me of Jinx from League Of Legends, who seems to act evil purely out of boredom.
It’s the other way around. Scarlet appeared first.
You know, you can kill everything in the tower with full zerker too. You just need to ‘’learn to dodge’‘. Would be fun when they would release a dungeon with boss timers so you actually need to run dps specced.
Until they do that, I don’t think I’ll enjoy PvE in this game a lot…Ugh… a dps race type of boss would be horrible for this game. It would only reinforce the fallacy that dps trumps all in GW2. I like that they’re working to break that bad habit that lesser MMOs have cursed upon so many.
Why?
The whole game is already based around ’’dps’’, especially PvE.
The real ‘’pve pro’s’’ only run in full zerker to finish everything as quickly as possible. Wouldn’t blame them tbh, getting rewards the fastest way is pretty much the only thing that keeps pve interesting in this game, the combat itself is just horribly motivated to make a macro to spam 1, move with 1 hand and kitten with the other one. That’s about the skill you need to play PvE in GW2.
The only way to fix that is to put a time limit on bosses so people actually start figuring out what else there is besides #1 spam and troll defensive builds. So yeah, I don’t really see your point.
The whole game? No, no it isn’t. As a matter of fact, berserker groups are the largest suppliers of income in WvW. Bags galore and they shatter like phantasms on a sunny winters day. Now, perhaps a lot of the simpler areas in PvE are fine with the disillusioned zerker crowd, but it’s time they took off the training wheels and learned to actually use the rest of the skill bar, gear options and trait options that are in the game for a reason.
‘’berseker groups’’, as in raids or blobs is probably as popular as the roaming section in this game is. And well, i can tell you, the majority of the roamers runs quite dps based specs.
And for the $96,000.00 question… So?
So, you’re comparing PvE with WvW and you still haven’t replied to my question:
Ugh… a dps race type of boss would be horrible for this game.
Why?
I already answered that. It reinforces the fallacy that the combat system in this game is purely dps based. Newer players to GW2 as a result learn to play poorly and when faced with the more complicated aspects of the game, be it WvW or dungeons and towers with more complicated mechanics, wind up liabilities. They become the inflexible yet loud few that yell on the forums about how something is too hard to complete (hits too hard, too many conditions, etc.) and scream for nerfs to content that is perfectly fine and already quite well balanced around a combat system designed to utilize a combination of damage, control and support skills.
The whole point of going zerkers at bosses that actually require a bit skill is to compensate gears with skill. A timer on a boss would force people to gain that skill. PvE in this game is way too casual.
Oh, no, a DPS timer would only force players to go zerk or go home, and that’s it.
Difficulty should be based on a boss’ mechanics, not on killing it quickly (because let’s face it, most people already run zerk and take most bosses down in less than one minute).
I saw your sig and discovered your problem.
You seem to think it’s about winning and losing.
No I just use that as a reminder that i can always do better and that I should always try harder than I am.
But i will say this, you can only win or lose. there is no almost winning or almost losing.
Your philosophy is flawed, as a person tends to learn more from defeat than from victory.
If you lost, but learned something in the progress, then you’re better than you were before, and that in itself is a gain.
Also, your signature has nothing to do with what you said, it just sounds like the typical CoD generation mentality.
Of course you shouldn’t be able to solo Group Events.
I would not mind having to buy Transmutation Crystals, my issue is about how once they’re soulbound, you can’t remove them from one character and put it on another (especially back items).
This idea REEKS of WoW.
Also, trading is already fulfilled by the TP.
I’m sure some players are better than others, and I’m also sure some classes can deal with it better than others. But there are a LOT of downed and dead players on the map so I am not imagining this.
Maybe a lot of players should pay more attention to their surroundings and less on pressing 1 on their keyboards.
The only mystery to me was what the right portal was, but from the first time I saw them I knew they were portals. Does no one read what Scarlet says as you progress through the chamber?
Am I the only one who thinks it’s extremely easy to decently gear up new characters?
Ascended Weapons do take a while, but if you craft your daily Mithrillium/Glob, you’ll have most of the mats down by the time you need to craft something.
When it comes to trinkets, two can be gotten from any 10+ FotM, and while the rest can take a while, the stat difference between Ascended and Exotic is so ephemeral, that it doesn’t affect you that much to have Exotic trinkets in the meantime.
Besides, a little treadmill doesn’t hurt anybody. If you had everything from the beginning, it would be most boring.
If that were the case, the only reason to ever buy a server transfer would be WvW. Not good for their economy.
I’ve never needed to guest on more than once a day, unless I’m going for world bosses.
Thing I’ve ever seen in a game. It’s actually making me physically ill trying to play it on my pathetically weak Thief. I think I’m about ready to move on.
Can I have your stuff?
A cranium any smaller would certainly fail to meet the spatial requirements to house such intellect.
Technology
Yeah, technology that exists only in a few spots, an anachronism in a fantasy world. Where are their roads? Where’s their infrastructure? Where’s all this industry outside of the Black Citadel? Where, pray tell, is all of this technology? Where, outside of the Black Citadel, are the cars? Where are the trains? Where’s anything that even hints at the charr being advanced. In only a few spots do we even see any hints that they’ve come beyond their tribal stage seen in Guild Wars 1.
The representation of charr technology in the world is a joke. Example? Here’s a piece of concept art by their lead concept artist, Daniel Dociu. That looks amazing! That suggests that the charr will have helicopters, but we only see one of them in a prototype stage before the end of the game. And the in-game model for it is atrocious. It’s just bad art, it’s grotesque in really unappealing ways, it’s like someone really wanted to demean the charr as a species as much as they could.
Why don’t people play charr, ArenaNet? Look to your own art, design, and writing for the answer.
So, yes, the ‘technology’ is a joke. I’d rather the race not be technological at all, rather than being a kitten -take of technological advancement. It’s worse than the Goblins in WoW, and I never thought I’d ever have to say that about anything. Nothing should be worse than WoW.
So yes, it’s just bad art, through and through. I’m sick of seeing people being apologists about this. If we’re mindless sycophants, witless yes-men, and we just bend over to take it up the rear without ever raising a complaint, then ArenaNet will never bother fixing anything. So I’m going to continue complaining and advertising Everquest Next as an alternative.
They could fix things. That’s up to them. But as it is now I’m appalled by the state of the charr. People should have more self-respect. If this is a product you paid for with the intent of playing a charr, you should feel disgusted, that’s your right, as it is mine.
I think you doesn’t understand than the helicopters in Orr are Charr’s helicopters .
All the Pact’s zeppelin are Charr’s technology , and what are you doing from all the tanks in Black Citadel ?
Except Orr the charrs do not need to use their technology because they are not at war. Moreover during the PS there are several missions where the Charr’s technology is present .
To be fair, Pact weaponry and vehicles came as a result of the combined effort of Asura, Charr and Human engineers. The designs, however, appear Charr-inspired.
My suggestion is:
Only Vets and higher rank humanoid NPCs
Friendly NPCs get downed and can be brought back on their feet
Hostile and Friendly NPCs alike have the ability to Finish downed enemies and Revive downed allies
(Optional) Make it so that NPC downed health is lower than Player downed health
This is important, ANET.
That song is what gives life to the event. Without it, it’s just bland, and pardon the rudeness, stupid.
Please do fix this.
(Also, when you fall of the Airship in Arah Story Mode, the music stops playing as well, and it also feels anti-climatic, terribly anti-climatic).
Instead of perfect, I would say the closest to perfection possible as of right now.
Finished products are for decadent minds.
Highly impractical, friend. What would a warrior do with, say, a scepter or a focus?
How is this a suggestion?
I’d like to see more about Largos.
I’d also love it if they added a Two-Handed Axe.
I may be wrong, but I think that if you Ctrl+Click somebody, you focus that person and can retarget them by pressing T.
There’s also Shift+Tab, which makes you switch to your last target. You can bind it to something else.
I thought that was the best part of the hallucinations. I have no idea why you’d be hearing cats – it would make more sense to hear terrifying howls or spider clicking or something (they chose to go comical instead of terrifying) but it was a nice touch from the audio department.
The sounds aren’t comical. You hear animals, whispering, laughter and whatnot.
A hallucination isn’t defined by terrifying, grotesque visions or sounds: what makes them fearsome is how unpredictable, bizarre and surreal they can be.
-snip-
Agreed. No one, no matter how tight their schedule is, is busy for 48 hours straight and if they are, they’re probably not the kind of people who play MMORPGs. From the beginning of the event ANET stated when the Mad King would arrive and leave LA.
(I do not defend their other mistakes, though, such as the stupidly grindy method to obtain weapon skins. Reminds me of WoW).
Usualy a month or two, but achievement migh not last as long, some time it does, sometime it doesn’t. So the shortest deadline is two week in every update.
Do you know how to add 14 days ? The easiest way is to look up a calendar, and count 14 days after the launch.Wow thanks for a really unhelpful answer that completely misses my point.
Actually thinking on what he said would’ve taken you less time than it took you to write that poor critic.
“Usually a month” or “Two weeks”, basically.
Finishing those achievements, playing two or three hours a day will take up to one week, if you have a level 80 character already, so the time frame is pretty reasonable.
I believe this thread is an exaggeration of what’s actually happening. It took me about one hour of Queensdale champ train to finish it. I was 8/25 when I joined said Champ train.
(Also, the players that take those champs down really quickly aren’t doing it in an attempt to grief anyone, they just want to move on to the next objective swiftly. Please take off that tin foil hat).
