Most fun/best class for defending

I’d have to say Mesmer.

You’ve got the same access to supply, and inventory, so you can carry all the siege. The thing that sets Mesmer apart, specifically for defending is portal. If your enemies are reallllly carefully watching the gate, you can portal your allies into the tower/keep.

If you’re building siege alone, you can lay a portal at the supply hut and open it to get supply and build faster.

If you’re alone in a tower with a friendly camp nearby its likely that you can lay a portal in the tower, run to the camp and port yourself back up to the tower with your supplies. This trick works with both the northern towers in the borderlands, if you can figure out where to put the portals.

If you’re getting omega rushed, you have Feedback, which is fabulous for damaging stupid golem drivers.

and last but not least, If you fail to defend the tower, you can hide and portal allies in to recap it.

I agree with the others about Air/Fire on GS.

Looking at your build I’d suggest that you switch out all of your knights trinkets, for cavalier trinkets. This will bump you up to 2550 armor. With the Staff, you get fairly high fury uptime from your Illusionary Elasticity, which makes me think you dont need to keep your precision as high as you have it.

I’m surprised you dont take Phantasmal Fury. With your power as high as it is, and the mobility that you’re afforded by taking the staff, i think it’s a waste to not equip this trait for increased range on one utility skill, when you’re missing out on 6.5k criticals from I warlock.

Although If I were you, I would re-consider the seaweed salad. It’s nice to have swiftness, but I dont think it’s optimal for what you have posted. Were you to use sweet chilli curry soup nonsense, you could be sitting at 2500 power 2550 armor without might or stacks, and have an approx 60% chance to critical with fury.

With full guard stacks, you’ll be 24 points short of 2900 power, at 2876. With the 6 stacks of might that you get from mirror blade, you’ll just barely edge over 3k power.

How to deal with celest ele as a shatter mes?

The first and most important thing, is to watch how the eles are attuning. A 4/4/0/0/6 Shatter mesmer can hard counter a might and boon stacking ele. The real trick is to Stay aggressive, and dont let up on your damage pressure.

At all costs, you must avoid the Fire burst, burning speed and firegrab. While the ele is buffing himself and getting through his first F1-4 rotation for his might stacks, you should be focusing on generating clones. Watch for when the elementalist attunes to water, to set up your burst. Immediately after the elementalist comes out of water attunement, you should burst him. If you are fast, and are able to hit him while he’s stacking might, you’ll interrupt his earthquake, and rip all of his boons off. At this point, I would blink as far away as I can get from the elementalist, and start hammering them with the GS.

D/D eles have little range, and you’ll force him to either use a utility skill, or RTL, one of his only reliable escape skills to gap close on you. Try to force a dodge by casting and canceling mirror blade or Izerk, and then complete the cast and shatter + Mind Stab(Gs3) once the phantasm lands its first whirl. (mind wrack, mind stab, and a phantasm all landing hits at once hurt a lot, and strips an additional 2 boons)

If you’ve succesfully done all this, your elementalist enemy is going to be kinda scared, and will want to run away. Pistol 5 (Magic Bullet) to buy time for you to set up a bigger burst, dodge-roll and I-leap and swap, Blurred frenzy F2, F3 (if diversion is available) and you have one (probably) dead elementalist.

Important things to remember:

Watch their attunement.
Some eles will open with Ride the Lightning. Most will open with Burning speed. D O D G E burning speed. If you’re just makin clones, and he does burning speed into them, they’re all dead, so try and shatter them before the ele kills them.

Land bursts when they’re coming OUT of water attunement. They can’t burst heal for another 10 ish seconds, so this is the time for you to be aggressive.

Create a Phantasm, and then move away from it so that the elementalist cant hit both you and your damage with his local AOE skills like burning speed and churning earth.

If you get CCed by Updraft or Earthquake and the elementalist attunes to FIRE, you need to pop F4 or blink away.

Churning earth hits hard, but it’s also super preditcable. 3 1/4 second cast. Count to 3 in your head and dodge. Even if he lightning flashes onto you to land the churning earth, it will miss because you dodged it on time.

If it’s not troublesome, a Doom sigil will help. That sigil is super useful against just about every heal-bot class, from warriors to condi-bunker rangers to celestial engineers.

If you read the second post on Fallen’s Resources thread, It contains a list of guilds, and contacts for GvG. Don’t feel like you can’t contact any of those guild leaders for GvGs just because you’re not in their tier, or in their matchup. We are perfectly capable of organizing Eotm GvGs, as long as you’re not all the same color.

GvGs are a place to practice your synergy between your players in a controlled environment against organized, even groups. For me it has absolutely nothing to do with who wins or who looses, but a place to practice your weaknesses and capitalize on your strengths in any way possible.

I know many guilds are willing to help you improve in GvGing, it’s in everyone’s best interest to keep the scene as competitive as possible.

Even in WvW proper, at some point, you need to wipe the enemy zerg. It’s so much more fun, and satisfying to do so with your weapons and skills instead of using sieges.

Most of the time when i’m fighting anyone who knows what a hammer stun is, it doesnt do anything but apply some damage. Stability is rampant and unless you catch someone completely off guard with 3 corruption wells and a static field, your hammerstuns dont do that much.

you dont need to catch them THAT off guard either.

they’re ez to dodge, and more likely its the static field that is messing you up

What about a GvG that includes 3 guilds per team (15 man/guild….so 90 people total). Could have different game modes like attack & defend. Or rush to a point. Or idk any number of possibilities. Obviously this isnt a complete thought but to me it sounds better than your regular GvG. Kind of a bridge between TPvP and GvG.

That could be really fun. King of the Hill kinda thing, with 3 hills

Staff is about positioning and managing boons. In WvW specifically, good positioning will win you more fights than balls to the wall damage.

I’ve played full zerk/assasins shatter builds with Illusionary Elasticity and sword/pistol and found them to be very effective.

The staff will allow you to secure stomps without forcing you to use your Distortion (start stomp, phase retreat out of enemy cleave, blink back to target at the end of stomp animation) much the same way that thieves use shadowstep.

If you bind a key to “look behind” and you’re being chased, you can target an enemy, look behind, and phase retreat to increase the gap between you and the player chasing you.

There are also many, many places throughout the world that you can use phase retreat to move up switchbacks, ramps, two story structures and other fun things. There are videos that show all the Phase Retreat locations in PvP that are available.

I often use staff to completely evade warriors and make them waste their adrenaline (Thank god for the adrenaline nerf) Causing them to miss their earthshaker or eviscerate is a valuable tool to have in your belt.

Should probably lock the borderlands and contain everyone in EB. Just throwin that out there. I dont really think it’s a good idea, cause i <3 borderlands, but unless the tales of emptiness are highly exaggerated, i think borderlands would spread a low server’s resources too thin for them to be effective anywhere..

Most servers have enough people to cover 2 maps. The problem is: Each server stay on its own borderland and on EBG… So you have 3 maps without action (because there are no enemies) and EBG.

that’s exactly what i’m saying about being spread too thin! only recently has my server gotten to a point where we are able to field guilds on enemy borderlands, while having a full staffed defensive squad on our own borderlands. We’re edging our way up to T3 now, and we just got to the point where we have decently rounded coverage. I’m pretty familiar with the struggle though, having fought to bring my server up in ranking through education and promotion.

like i said, restraining everyone to EBG isnt a very good idea. I’d feel pretty cheated if it happened to me. But if it meant that there was EPIC BATTLE on the 1 map, then it would possibly be a worthwhile tradeoff

for starters, For each +40% food, there is a -40% food, so the foods are not the issue. They’re expensive, so people don’t just waste this food.

  1. I’ve never seen this issue on the forum before.
  2. +40% doesn’t make sense because everybody HAS to run -40% to counter it. That’s why every guild is running mostly -40% condition duration. Do you have an interest in the Lemongrass Poultry Soup industry, perchance? Come on, full disclosure please!

I think the OP has put forward some very convincing arguments that should be acted upon (though I’m not holding my breath).

No, i dont have any invested interests in the poultry soup industry. But i do buy into it. -36% food works just fine, and is much more affordable.

This has been discussed many, many times on these forums. It’s normally referred to as the “Power creep” or in this case “condition creep” from the cumulative effect of guard stacks, foods, and mixed-stats.

He hasnt made a convincing argument, what he’s suggested would literally be the end of anything really competitive and diverse about WvW. Every build has weaknesses. Even those kitten annoying +40 condition duration engineers. Try CC on those condi kittens. They normally dont’ have many stunbreaks.

Why should players who meticulously craft builds for WvW be nerfed? They spend a good deal of time and effort creating a build, like this, non celestial D/D ele that will rip your face off.

Put some actual time and effort into your build. Look at the stats, check the numbers, play with trinkets, and duel people with different play styles to find the gaping holes in your build.

If he goes and captures a camp, good for him, don’t get me started on how pointless PPT is again.

- Points are the name of the game in this mode. I don’t know why would anyone enter WvW if they don’t care about concepts like attacking and defending towers, running supplies, securing routes and siege. “PPT is pointless” is like playing chess and saying cornering the king is overrated.

you probably gave more points to the other team getting stomped than they’ll get from the camp being flipped.

It only matters if the tick timer is less than 4:00, during the other 11 minutes of the tick, it’s 100% irrelevant that the camp got flipped, especially if it was an un-upgraded camp. I need to get stacks eventually.

edit: and who doesn’t re-flip their camps for the tick?

You need to set a standard for starters, because different guilds are good at different things. Some guilds go battle 20v50, and that’s their thing. Some guilds bunker down in the borderlands and siege everything to hell, and they’re much, much better at doing that than the guilds who fight 20v50, so which guild is “better” in a ranking?

i dont see this being a very good idea, but I’m open to see what other people think

but when you see someone standing around and not dying while enemies are present, you need to stop and ask yourself “whats going on here?”

- A match that is even doesn’t often happen. I’d wait for reinforcements too.

10 times out of 10, those duelists will not poop on your game mode if you dont kitten with them and they are in fact nice people if youre lookin for new friends. cuz disrespectful kittenheads dont get duels, they get stomped.

- They poop on the gamemode that is WvW by breaking the expectation that you can trust your teammate to not betray you on the time of need. This is why sPvP is the game mode for them. There you can duel all you like without other people coming to interfere with your duels. I’m sure it’s not too hard to understand for you if you tried.

There shouldnt be any expectation that someone on your team is going to help you When you’re interrupting something that they’re doing.

There are dueling spots on EVERY map, and while the windmills are the most commonly known, one can’t just sit around at the windmill waiting for duelers to show up. You’ll be waiting a very long time. YOU MUST go out into the battlegrounds and find them, because no one wants to sit on a ded map at a windmill and wait for people who might never come at all, cause they went to a different borderland! DOH!

In Eternal, the most common dueling spot is along the eastern side of Stonemist Castle.

Also, in S/TPvP you RARELY get a 1v1, and the dynamic of the fight is completely different because it’s focal point isnt actually on the fight, it’s about controlling the point. This is why Hambow warriors are strong in Spvp and awful in WvW.

In Spvp i need to stay on point, standing in the warrior’s ungodly huge fire field. In WvW, I can just go around that kitten, there’s no reason for me to stand in their kitten.

You also seem to have ignored the commentary on stat mixing which makes WvW combat so unpredictable and dynamic, especially in a 1v1 situation, and that you are even still suggesting that PvP is a better space for duels shows your lack of knowledge in this case. WvW has build diversity, afforded by the fact that you CAN have 3 pieces of soldier armor and 3 pieces of zerker, with whatever kind of trinkets you desire on the side!

As for being “betrayed” by your teammates, that’s some kittening stupid kitten. If you took, even 5 seconds to type out to your ally, “Hey, you dueling?” you wouldnt have gotten stomped. With very few notable exceptions,

TLDR; People duel to get better at the game. You should try it, instead of kittening that your servermates didnt help you when you tried to gank their dueling friend. You just sound kitten that your allies were more interested in their duel than you.

People like you have no honour for lack of a better word. To you spawn camping would be justified because you are obligated to as a wvw player because they are the enemy.

- Hah! You’re saying it’s honorable to leave your team mate to die. You probably won’t even help your team mate who is getting killed by enemy 1v1 because you think it’s a duel and they “deserve” it for not having 1v1 build on their character. Nobody gives a **** about your ego.

strawmanning the argument does not hep you here. assuming you don’t get ambushed, a 1v1 is an excellent learning opportunity. I might help an ally if they get downed by an enemy and are about to get stomped, but why would i interrupt a duel deprive them of an opportunity to see where they are weak as a player, or finding weaknesses in their build? Considering that I have to fight next to this ally every day, it’s in my best interest to help them improve in this regard.

Also, the way you talk about dying, it’s like you actually care how many counts are in your /deaths record

Stat mixing is what makes WvW interesting. You’re not limited by the PvP amulets and you can get the stats that you’re looking for that perfectly fit how you play.

I’ve seen incredible builds that come out of WvW that simply cannot be done in PvP with the standardized format. Just because a build is strong because of min-maxing, does not mean that it’s indestructible. EVERY build has a weakness, and just because other players have vested more careful thought into their stat spread and they beat you, does not mean that it’s “destroying the possibility of balanced WvW combat”

With standardized builds it would be much more difficult for smaller zergs to stand up to larger zergs, and the Karma train would reign eternal.

There’s nothing wrong with dueling in WvW.

It may not play into your PPT strategy because those 5 guys from your team are not carrying supply for your arrow carts, BUT

I’ve seen imromptu fight nights on the sides of SMC (normally the east side) which completely stop the momentum of the enemy server, because the enemy servers want to duel as well.

i understand the “Red is dead” attitude, but If i dont find duels in open WvW, I dont find them at all.

Obsidian Sanctum is fabulous for duels, but you know what’s gonna happen if i wait in OS for duels to come to me? zipity, didily squat. OS is empty 90% of the time and its simply easier to go out and /bow to an enemy to get a fight.

There’s a whole host of reasons to duel in WvW instead of PvP, but most notably being the min-maxed stats. guard stacks are nice, but you cant fight someone whos got 2400 power and 3k armor in PvP, because the stats are just not possible. I dont expect you guys to all know " oh that’s a duel happening, leave it alone" when you walk up on one. That would by sill. It’s fine that people come n interrupt duels in open world PvP. Either i get to watch a duel or fight a duel, either way i get to watch someone die.

P.S. If you interrupt my duel and can’t beat the guy im dueling, i will let him stomp you if you can’t beat him. I dont have to be nice to you because we’re on the same team.

edit: Second thought – If enemy roamers are all caught up dueling, they’re NOT picking off the tail of your zerg and spawncamping your keeps, flipping your camps, killing your yaks etc. Duels DO have their place in WvW.

Perhaps a better way to buff NPCs would be to give them the same power as the Overgrowth Sentry Turrets from EotM. the main difference between a veteran archer and an average player is that the average player will tell the map that enemies are present.

If you can look at your map and see a big orange cluster of enemy dots, (because they’ve been reported to the map by the NPCs) our small defending teams would be able to do more to intercept other small teams, and would know whether a huge blob is attacking a structure without waiting 2.5 minutes for the first scout to run down there and get EYEBALLS on them.

Also helps to know whether a structure was tapped, or whether there’s a group ramming or cataing.

"The Staff is a Crutch"

I support use of staff in shatter builds. It really just depends on how you play. I like staff more than GS because the GS leaves you incredibly vulnerable to thieves and warriors, and the other classes that rely on closing the gap and getting closer to the target.

Glass cannon shatter builds with the staff are a tad easier to get an enemy to walk into a shatter, because they need to chase you as you kite them around with Phase retreat.

Also, how about them 6.5k crits with Iwarlock? such yummy dps.

I still roam in WvW with illusionary elasticity Sword/pistol and Staff, and while each individual strike from a Winds of Chaos does not hit hard, 300-1k damage depending on might stacks, the cumulative effect of the boons that they apply make a big difference in small scale roaming. A careless enemy will focus exclusively on the mesmer, while they accumulate bleeds and vulnerability and the mesmer has perma-might and fury. When you finally land your burst, I’ve seen them edge up to 16k with 3.9k damage on mind wrack.

It’s just different. It’s so much easier to counter a GS mesmer IMO. Just stay on, or behind them and they’re basically fudged.

the tier you are on is just about right IMO. Maybe you just need to switch server. I currently play on Devonas Rest. I like the roaming there. Even tho there is a lack of good guilds and actual roaming guild on DR. I like the tier.

have you played with BOMB? they’re MY favorite DR guild, and they often roam solo or in small parties

someone who suggested that they go to the JP to check there clearly doesnt play much WvW, since Siege has been un-deployable in the JPs for months and months and months, and months.

The Trebuchet in the screenie is on the edge of the map, where it can only be accessed or countered by utilizing exploits of some kind.

I can assure you that the vast majority of us on the server indicated in the image do not condone spawn camping, and that we want to be out of your hair too.

During NA, You have a comparable amount of players to us, however, we have the coverage that stays relatively consistent through the day, while y’all have pretty serious peaks and valleys in your coverage. Sorry. Those guys are super bloodthirsty tho, if you want to keep them engaged and completely out of your hair (for the whole map really) get a bunch of PvPers to challenge them to 1v1 duels. (/bow @) They’ll be delighted.

Power PU builds are safe, even when you roll glassy. As long as you dont get caught by a hammer train, you will be able to avoid getting ganked with ease, unless you’re being focused by multiple people. use your stealth up time to get your phantasms up and prepare bursts with izerker and Mindstab or Mirror blade.

Power Interrupt builds don’t rely as much on stealth and positioning, more on timing. Landing interrupts is crucial , so dont waste your chaos storm, or your MoD charges, or your pistol 5 without just cause. This is an incredibly fun build and play-style. It’s tankier than your traditional glass-cannon power-PU or Shatter, since your using considerably less stealth to break targeting. When you interrupt your enemies, you gain 5 stacks of might and a random boon, in addition to apply immobilize and any one of a few soft CC conditions. Use interrupts to buy time for your phantasms to lay into your enemies.

Your typical, balls to the wall shatter build. Personally, I don’t use a torch, but I know it makes positioning yourself much easier, and the stealth buys time to get up phantasms, or run your heal, so i’ve included it in the build. You’re glassy, but if you have clones up, you can have up to 4 seconds of invulnerability, and you have access to the sword 2 skill, which is also a vital way to avoid damage. The rest is up to your positioning. Check out this video to get a better idea of how to position yourself in a zerg fight as a shatter mesmer.

I’m in the camp that mesmers should be able to have IP as a part of the class mechanic.

As rylock pointed out, distortion is incredibly buggy when you dont have IP, what good is a one second invuln if it goes off one or two seconds too late?

No one has suggested that we give mesmers an additional 6 trait points, that would be effing stupid. We have suggested that IP be a part of the class mechanic. If we do that we might actually see some variations on shatter builds in T and sPvP.

PvE = Power

PvP = Either can be effective

WvW = no clue!

For WvW, you can go Power or Condi, each one is suited to different situations.

The most common image of the mesmer, is the portal and veilbot, and this is a really limited perspective to have on the class, because that’s a utility which teams can take advantage of, but not a role in the zerg per-se.

Condition mesmers are very strong while roaming alone or with small groups of players (up to 10) The main thing that sets condition mesmers apart is that they use their stealth and positioning to allow their conditions time to work on their enemies. while keeping up constant pressure with phantasms. Those Kittens.

Their shortcoming is that when the battle scales up(20v20 or higher), your conditions do not stay on your targets long enough to do damage, due to the DoT nature of conditions.

Power mesmers in WvW are very different.
In WvW, mesmers offer very impressive spike damage, either through phantasm or shatter. here’s a video that shows such impressive spike damage!

They are also excellent at forcing enemy players out of position, through immobilizes, and other CC. This means that they quite nicely fit into the role of a ganker, and they are able to fill a crucial role in the zerg, which is pulling enemy casters out of the enemy zerg and bursting them. We’re able to do this extremely well if you work in conjunction with a thief, or axe/shield warrior.

If you’re interested in playing a gank role for your server zergs, pair yourself up with a teef (suggest he run venomshare to get that immobilize venom, cause it’s silly, but not otherwise important) and run a build something like this:

you’re right, I didnt say anything about “losing” stuff either

back on topic:
Roamers have to work to get their kills, and as it stands, they’re rewarded with kitten.
I believe i said that these folks will stand the most to gain from better loot from kills. I’m not suggesting that every player kill should drop a wooden chest, that would be imbalanced, rather that we get a reward which better fits the difficulty of the task.

Imagine a WvW which was fun, and profitable!

If you Kill:
Someone in on average: Masterwork armor – thats not very hard, so you get a spike.

Average: Rare armor – still not that hard, you get a blue with a chance of a green

Average: Exotic armor – Standard Player – Chance to get green, 15-20% chance for rare, 20% chance to get a blue, 2.5% chance exotic

Average: Ascended Armor – 60% chance green, 35% rare 5% exotic

When i say “Average” i mean, for example, if someone has 4/6 pieces of armor are exotic and trinkets, with 2 rare pieces, they are still average using exotic armor.
You would want to round down with this so you dont over-reward people, so someone who’s got 50/50 exotic/rare or exotic/ascended would be rounded down instead of up.

I dont think that table above would really be balanced right, but I DO think that we’re tasked with killing an aware opponent who can actively evade, can have any number of different defensive, offensive and positioning utilities, and we’re rewarded as though it was a moa.

in the video description, there are all three builds that the video creator uses.
Shatter, Phantasm, and condition builds.

Shatter and Phantasm are viable with Power, while condition has a tad bit less build diversity, although the recent patch has made hybrid condi-shatter builds a bit more viable.

Just making player loot better, would only make zergers richer.

for starters, WvW zergs arent rich. The folks who play WvW are loosing money, not gaining it. Also, folks zerg in order to make capturing OBJECTIVES easier. They’re after Embroidered Belt Pouches and Karma, not kills.

Roamers are the people who stand the most to gain from improving PK loot.

Zerglings often give as many bags as they get, the roamers who pick off the tails of zergs and disengage and escape will be the people who benefit the most from improved loot tables on player kills.

How do we make play time in off hours valuable without blowing out the score?
The first and most obvious option is to change how Outnumbered works. Here are some of my suggestions:

Rework Outnumbered – Keep lords gain event scaling, and get buffed to be like EoTM keep lords in that they get a wider variety of attacks and mechanics. Perhaps pull some mechanics from Guild bounties so that there’s an additional challenge to taking keeps.
Double yak movement speed and reduce building costs of upgrades and sieges by 25% Increase camp supply generation rate by 25%
Keeps project Commander’s Presence to the same radius of a guild buff (http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Commander's_Presence)

Snowballing
How do we give worlds a fighting chance throughout the duration of the match?

currently, there are clear winners in many matchups, especially when servers are not eye-to-eye on coverage. These screenshots show how consistently outnumbered servers do:

Barring a solution to population imbalances, it would seem the next best thing would be to offer servers with significantly poorer coverage a structural or terrain defensive advantage. I mean make the keeps harder to take, or design a map to significantly advantage the defending team.

How do I feel continuously challenged when my world is ahead?

When a run-a-way victory is at hand, give enemy servers more access to points on player kill. The Bloodlust doesn’t contribute THAT much to world score because it’s based on stomps, If a huge margin is opening up, offer the servers that are behind more ways to gain points, by any and every player kill.

this scoring balance could trigger when you’re behind by 50k+ points, and turn off when you’re at 10k.

How does my world break the hold that other worlds have on me when I’m behind?

This is a very challenging question, because there’s a social factor involved. When you’re running around with the only group of allies in WvW, and your enemies have 3 groups to your 1, It’s quite difficult to hold more than one or two things, because of how map politics play out. It looks like this!

Among the enemies, is 3 enemy guilds, with a fourth snaking its way around a rock somewhere. Enemy server also has a militia zerg. And then there’s the third server in the matchup)

When this happens, people typically get into K-train mode, If they can even manage that. When you’re facing an entrenched enemy who has upgraded your holdings, and does not allow you to K train, THAT is when people get realllllllly frustrated and start to move to other modes of the game.

Thus you’re in a negative feedback loop.

The only thing that I can think of to help this part would be to give better loot from recapturing your lands from an enemy who seriously outnumbers you. If you got Karka Queen, tequatl or Triple Trouble level loot from taking a keep from an entrenched enemy (It’s about the same difficulty as teq and karka) There might be more players willing to tough it out for the increased rewards.

in short, Morale is difficult to manage when you’re getting absolutely squashed. and I dont know how to help that side of WvW. the main problem is that it’s not fun for either server, either to squash or get squashed.

IMO, I think you should swap PU out for Chaotic Interruption, You have enough stealth and condition damage that you could really make use of CI.

I have tried rabid builds, they’re not my cup of tea because enemies can just turn tail and run away from you and have a solid chance of escaping because staff clones and phants and torch clones and phants have such slow projectile speeds.

Running CI instead of PU would mean you can immobilize enemies to buy time for your conditions to take affect.

I’d also consider changing out the sigil of doom on your staff for a sigil of energy. you dont really need that much poison application, since Chaos Storm can do that for you. You would be better served getting the extra dodge-roll and be able to better position yourself while in the staff.

With as much stealth as you have, I think that you shouldnt really need the Mantra of Resolve AND the Harmonious mantra with healing mantra, while you have Mender’s Purity traited as well. If you ran 2 in Domination for Crippling Dissipation (would make your build the clone-death trifecta) then possibly running both mantras would be recommended because you’d have much more limited condition clearing, coming 100% from Mantra of Resolve. If you agree, you could swap out Mantra of Resolve for Mantra of Distraction if you’re up for the interrupts. I found interrupt builds worked fabulously while roaming.

Map Completion

I’m not 100% sure if it’s just me, or a few people, but I’ve been determined to get 100% map completion, and it’s proving darn near impossible with WvW maps being included. I’m on the Isle of Janthir server, and every time I, or a group of friends and I try to roam the map to get these points, we always run into a zerg and die.
I find it unfair to make people who don’t like playing WvW to have to play it for map completion.
Is there any way in the possible future (you think?) that we can keep those maps separate when it comes to completion?
What is your opinion on the 100% map completion containing WvW? Do you like the extra challenge, or is it just incredibly annoying as it is for me?

Over the course of this tournament of which we are at the end of Week 3, We (IoJ) have been both Red, and Blue. This should have afforded you 66% of your Map completion since the beginning of the tournament. The coming week of the tournament should place us as Green, so keep your eye open for that.

As I’m writing this post, we’re ticking 380, so get out there and ask the commander leading the friday K train to take you to your Pois. be like "Hey Commander ************, can we go get “hard-to get objective”

To answer your question, Yes, the swiftness duration will stack with your trait in acrobatics. (I recommend using this food – http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Bowl_of_Orrian_Truffle_and_Meat_Stew) If you’re playing an acro-style teef to make the most of your dodge-rollingness

The crippling strike is a bit tricky to land. I’m pretty sure it doesn’t put you in combat, but i’ll double check tonight.

Edit: They’ve been stealth-patched, but the crippling strike does not occur unless you’re in combat.
