Another thing is that there is no unique loot. Every area has the same kind of loot. There are no special areas with special skins like Urgoz or Deep in GW1 with Zodiac skins (yeah we got that as gem store CRAP).
There are also no bosses who drop unique named and cool looking weapons with special features. It’s so boring.

- Unique Boss/Item relationship, nonunique skin.
I believe the Claw can drop Jormag’s Needle and whatever that Icy Dragon Sword one is called, as well.
And on top of that, virtually all dungeon bosses and many world bosses have one or more unique accessories.
It’s still stupid, though.
If they would base there whole payment model on expansion there was not even a need for all that stuff in the cash-shop. Now they do not really have a choice.
You know GW1 had a cash shop too, right? A lot worse one than GW2’s, at that.
Using minis in the mystic forge really should unlock them, since that’s how it works with weapon and armor skins.
If they did create some sort of infinite transmutation charge, it would be an obscenely rare black lion chest item like the merchant/bank/tp/hairstyle/etc are.
I hope it gets a whole new layout, maybe even incorporate the Pact and minor races somehow a bit more.
I’d love to see a Skritt section or some Hylek architecture pocketed away.
There’s already a skritt section, a bunch of them took over the northwest cavern right after we liberated the city.
There’s a little graveyard in Hoelbrak too, in the caves behind the bear hall.
the Commissar never broke, and yes, before Megaserver…it was reliable…I would start the pre-events and get the guild kicking up….but nowdays, you can’t even start the events, two days after reset
The chain that leads to the commissar would break periodically too. It wasn’t as bad as Ogre Wars (or the year or so it took for Anet to get the Shadow Behemoth to spawn reliably), but it was one of the buggier world bosses.
Umm there were No gems in GW1 and by this time 2yrs had sveral expansions. Just saying..
The only reason it didn’t have gems was because its cash shop just used plain ol’ dollars instead.
It’s not a “bug”, per se, vendors do that sometimes when events are active.
There’s a heart vendor in Iron Marches that is basically never accessible because of an event going on the Brand, too.
Dry Top is a permanent zone. It’s also apparently a unique region unto itself, at least for the time being. Like I said before, it’s even got a distinct background on the character select screen if you leave a character there.
They keep making them because whales keep buying them.
I’d like to see more weapon skins that alter your skills the way Marjory’s weapons do (rangers throw her axe rather than a generic skin axe, for example).
Also more weapons with different sound effects, like the SAB and Ley Line weapons. Especially warhorns, there’s so many opportunities there.
The fact that our characters never talk any more is by far the dumbest thing about the living story.
From what I’ve read, the “polearm” class of weapon has been there since the beggining, probably a throwback from development when the final classes and weapons hadn’t been set in stone and were trying to other things (maybe something like the spears used by the paragon in GW1).
It probably exists as a weapon category for technical reasons, since a number of NPCs can use spears on land (such as krait, hylek, quaggans, centaurs, and watchknights).
I’d be surprised if they didn’t bring back these skins, if only so the Chinese players have a shot at getting them.
iirc, the halloween weapons were entirely RNG originally, and there’s nothing “prestigious” about being lucky or grinding gold.
Dry Top even has its own little backdrop on the character select screen.
The rest of the legendary process works perfectly as a long-term goal: assemble the gifts bit by bit, one by one, over whatever time frame works for you (even if it’s a year or more), and then you get to the precursor and you have to grind gold, either to pay the Toilet or to pay someone much luckier than you. That’s where the whole thing falls apart.

Yeah, for as much as people complain about bloodstone, I’ve always gotten at least two dragonite for every bloodstone dust
For some reason, Anet doesn’t care as much about creating a sink for that though.
Yeah, as much as people complain about bloodstone dust, I’ve always had more dragonite than anything else. I wish you could feed that to Mawdrey II…
Those seed mortars in TA Up hit stupidly hard and spawned in significant numbers, they needed to be fixed.
Thanks. When I said one armor I was talking about something that didn’t need AP grinding, and complete sets, not just a piece of armor or something. As I do count outfits as armors (even though I despise them), that’s still 3 IG sets vs 14 GS sets…
12 ingame sets, actually: Radiant, Hellfire, Illustrious (ascended) and Glorious all have a version for each armor weight.
It’s actually the chest that obscures the shoulders on t2 light charr cultural (or, rather, the shoulders are also incorporated into the chest design iirc).
The real question is how to implement PVP-like features in PVE, what “forces” players to use all different roles and builds in PVP but in PVE it’s only about damage? Why is Support, Condition Damage and Control so great in PVP but nearly useless in PVE? Answering those questions and finding appropriate “fixes” is what can really change PVE in this game.
Condition damage and control don’t work in PVE because both are balanced for use against other players. Virtually all the control skills have ridiculously short effects on gigantic cooldowns, for example.
There really should be a bank there too. I have no idea why there isn’t one, when some random camp in Mount Maelstrom has one (one of only two non-city, non-crafting station banks in the game, along with the one in Ebonhawke).
GW1 maps was way bigger ..time how long it takes to cross a map in gws 1 vs gws 2….the maps was/ are huge vs the maps of gws 2
It took longer to get from Point A to Point B in GW1 because you had to take ridiculous detours to get pretty much anywhere.
It’s the only one of those letters that has voice acting, for any race. It’s really strange.
The skin item is already basically a charge, since it lets you apply that skin one time for free.
I don’t really care about Tribal armor, but I really want the Stalwart shoulders and Apostle legs, which are also unavailable (and the only pieces of those sets I don’t have).
No other class has a leap and a cripple on auto attack either.
Warrior sword’s autoattack cripples as well.
If you think slippery ice in games is “fun”, you haven’t played enough platformers.
It should never be more profitable to fail an event than complete it, period.
Liadri was annoying because of the way the encounter was designed. The whole wait after each round, was bleh. It was cool to be able to watch others do it, but they could have gone with an observer mode in an instance fight for the same affect.
Also the fight was made needlessly harder for certain classes (shadowfall insta-killing pets and summons, for example.).
Really seems like there should be an ascended weapon achievement as well (requiring one of each weapon type, regardless of color)
SAB world 2 was garbage and if that’s what the rest of the worlds would have been like, good riddance.
Not to mention how ridiculously alt-unfriendly it became (people are running it with multiple characters to get baubles? NOPE. Or the mandatory bauble grind to progress).
There really is no reason to require you to complete all three borderlands when they’re literally identical.
I think they need to shrink the metal part at the base for non-charr, because it’s scaled way too large on humanoid races.
Capes, with its issues, worked almost perfectly in GW1. Good, old times.
Capes were a clipping nightmare in GW1, and that was with only one race and much simpler armor design.
I’d rather they shrink that huge slab of metal at the base. It looks okay on charr, but on everyone else that part takes up your entire back and looks terrible.
The underwater inquest buildings are free of inquest, leaving empty buildings moldering down there like an artifact of fun.
Good! That heart was by far the worst in Metrica.
Stealth used to break combat, but they changed that ages ago so monsters still know where you are and will start attacking you again when it ends.
Along with SAB there used to be Keg Brawl in Norn City that one could participate whenever. It was really popular amongst small group of people like a meta pvp game. I know Kegbrawl doesn’t fit the living story but could you still consider getting it back to the Norn City. It was tons of fun.
Keg Brawl is part of the activity rotation.
It seems to be working inversely from how it should. Minipets seem to appear just fine in cities but not outside them, when the reverse would make more sense.
the item the claw drops seems to unlock a Corrupted weapon collection, according to the wiki.
Maybe the Megadestroyer drops a similar item for a Primordus weapon collection?
I’d like the collectible achievements a lot more if they didn’t randomly throw in super-expensive items into otherwise sensible categories.
Just be aware that causing more precursors to be present/available will increase the number of people working on a legendary.
What do you think that will do to the supply of the other components? What happens when supply changes in that way? Show your work.
Even assuming Anet cares (they don’t), there’s nothing stopping them from increasing the supply of anything they like. And honestly there’s a lot of mats out there that really need a better/guaranteed method of acquisition anyway (lodestones, silver dubloons, giant eyes, etc).
t6 mats, meanwhile, can be bought with laurels (which means both that you can get t6 without paying a cent, and that people will turn laurels into t6 mats to sell them like they did with dyes in the past).
If we can salvage dungeon gear, why not honor and karma gear? Logically, it doesn’t make sense that we can’t salve these gear types. Plus, gold is THE currency of the game. You earn gold in all game modes: sPvP, WvW, and PvE.
iirc, there were a lot of early exploits involving people turning other currencies to gold, and Anet has been real skittish about it ever since.
Capes were clipping nightmares in GW1 (where there was only one race and weapons were absent in cities and permanently wielded in instances), I can only imagine how bad it’d be here.
That’s not a bug, both of Marjory’s weapons affect skill animations.
