People don’t understand that as soon as anet will announce precursor crafting, the price of all mats involved to craft a legendary will explode. Meaning mostly T5, T6, ecto, cores and lodes.
A lot of things will be more expensive and your legendary won’t be any cheaper.
Except that there are other ways to get most of those things easily (world bosses give you tons of ecto, just about everything drops t5 mats and a good bit of t6 as well, plus you can buy fine mats with laurels.). Only lodestones would really be an issue, and Anet is way overdue to give us reliable sources of those anyway.
I wish they would have made class specific armor sets like in Guild Wars 1 honestly, there were very few impractical armor sets for rangers, most seemed very adventurer/nature ish themed especially the druid set. There were very few of the ridiculous coats we see now if any aside from the Krytan set but even that seems practical for the most part. I just wish we had more sets like the ones in the first one for just about every class.
The entire coat thing is derived from GW1 ranger armor, actually (assasins were more “spikes everywhere” and dervish armor was all basically medium Whispers armor), the major difference was that it was mostly restricted to male armor.
Also, why did you even roll a norn if you’re bothered by their height? “Giant viking” is, like, their thing.
I really feel like the golems (and all summon skills, really) should stick around indefinitely until they’re killed or you go underwater, like flesh golems do.
I like the scavenger hunt aspects but the gold sink aspects of these things are getting a little out of hand (especially compared to the spinal blades, which were relatively cheap to craft).
I saved Phlunt first, I believe, entirely by chance.
I saved Knut last, but he basically saved himself since he’d killed all but one enemy by that time.
He did try to kill us, for the record. And that was after causing basically everything that went wrong on crab island.
All of the dragon bosses use the same basic model, for the record.
enemies in the living story season 2 instances don’t give experience or loot, which for some reason seems to be tied to counting as a “kill” for sigil/trait purposes.
As someone who uses bloodlust sigils on all my characters, it’s really annoying and I wish they’d do something about it.
I’m having the same problem. I created the back item a little under a week ago and left the seed in my bank and now it’s a pet seed. I haven’t done any of the current episode yet (other than unlocking and activating it).
3. Remove the auto-targeting and pet aggro from ranger warhorn 5. It’s our run faster skill, not our “please go attack that and slow me down” skill.
It’s because it’s a blast finisher. Warrior warhorn 5 is the same way, and both should be fixed (they don’t do damage, so they shouldn’t aggro yellow monsters and put you in combat).
herpa kitten !
Just because they can’t be sold doesn’t mean they don’t affect the existing market…buyers focus change to crafting, all the g they were saving now goes into crafting matts for precursor, demand drops on existing precursors theyre price now scales in line with the matts required for the crafting ones..
So the robber barons suffer and regular players win? I’m not seeing a downside.
Dry Top has a unique background on the character select screen, too.
Also if you use the recall command, your pet won’t start attacking again unless you order it to.
Bria’s event chain is one of those that bug out over time. They’ll work fine after a server reset, then eventually stop working.
What bothers me most is how ridiculously alt-unfriendly the system is. There’s no reason you shouldn’t be able to get the achievements while doing it for the first time with a second character, but you can’t.
I gave my elementalist a lot of bright colors, and I really like the results.
My mesmer is pretty bright too, light blue with pastel TA armor, and my warrior is white with golden armor. My thief is more subdued, with dark green skin and brown/green armor, but even she started out bright red.

Just once I’d like one of these threads to not get swarmed by internet Libertarians worshiping the free market, using “entitled” as a pejorative, and telling people to pull themselves up by their virtual bootstraps.
Once.
The reactor from Thaumanova (or part of it, at least) was apparently recovered and is now a skill point housed in an Inquest base directly north of it (in southwest Brisban), and the swamp between the two has the same teleporting creatures (though mostly ambient ones in this case).
has anyone done it as a bird?
Buy them with laurels.
Dear Dev’s Please please put a exit instance icon in the LS story items just like the normal story instances, that way we have an escape hatch to exit the instance back to the start if we wind up being bug stuck.
logging out will exit the instance as well.
it’s still sort of annoying, since the nearest usable waypoint is the one in that canyon like a quarter of the way across the zone.
Please make it a reward skin and not a gemstore item -_-
It won’t be even if only because not every class ckittene GS and therefore offering it as the reward would be useless to those who only play classes that don’t use the GS. There has never been a class exclusive in game reward before, don’t think we’ll see one now.
Half the professions in the game ckittene greatswords, and I doubt there’s many people who don’t have at least one.
the aspects in dry top really don’t last long enough, though.
The tools were originally soul bound on equip. Anet made a compromise by making them account bound thus taking a loss in tools sold. Those who had multiple of the same tool got gem refunds. I think the current system is fair. If you want the connivence of having tools on alts without going to the bank then buy multiple tools. There has to be a line drawn some place. Anet is not a not for profit organization.
They’d probably sell a lot more infinite tools if all your characters could use them, because the number of people who’d buy one set of them is probably a lot higher than the number of whales who’d obsessively buy one set for every character.
This could have been the case. If not for the fact that we have had creatures corrupted by multiple dragons in-game since release.
Not naturally, though.
buy them with laurels.
The problem with the aspects in dry top is that they last all of about 30 seconds, which gives you little margin of error to figure out where you’re actually trying to go.
it should be possible to get them on your first try as long as another character on your account has already completed the chapter.
Didn’t Guild Wars 1 have Katana swords (1 handed)?
It was the generic weaponsmith sword in Cantha.
At least one of the longbow traits needs to be dropped down to a minor trait because the whole tree is way too backloaded.
I nominate Eagle Eye, since its warrior equivalent (Stronger Bowstrings) is also a minor trait.
Yeah, the whole “prices will increase!!!1” thing just feels like hand-wringing concern trolling from the robber barons.
You can get most of the components for legendary gifts without spending a cent if you’re patient enough. Ore and wood can be gathered, t6 mats can be bought with laurels, killing world bosses gets you plenty of ecto, etc. If Anet added a reliable way to obtain lodestones (dungeon tokens, maybe?) and silver dubloons (because everything about those has always been a mess), you’d be set.
Why is everyone concerned about plummeting precursor prices? The whole point is that they’re too expensive. Let them fall. Hard.
Yeah, the precursor market is beyond toxic. The process of making a legendary should be “So I’ve got this precursor, what do I need to collect to make it a legendary”, not “I’ve collected everything else, now I need to flush the toilet/grind an obscene amount of gold”.
Kasmeer can also blink across gaps, yet another thing we can’t do for no real reason.
Now, I know a skin isn’t always important, but did you noticed how the internet exploded when everyone saw this weapon skin for the first time? I looked up guides for some achievments and all I could see in the comments was how people loved this sword.
And that’s exactly why Anet will sell it on the gem store: because people want it and will buy it.
Also getting all the armor weights not to clip horrendously with each other would be a nightmare.
no, the sheath disappears when the sword is drawn (at least in the preview window).
You mean to tell me 99% of the playerbase will never even bother trying it and if they do try and fail, they just give up and never try again and would consider it dead content?
This is literally what happened to Taquito on my server within maybe a week of it getting revamped, everyone gave up and the people who cared guested to bigger servers. Triwurm didn’t even last the week.
Swapping the leaps on the sword and fixing the autoattack chain to not be an awkward mess would at least bring ranger sword in line with everyone else’s sword skills.
And it would render them very common, and worth little…desire- or monetary-wise.
You say that like it’s a bad thing.
I unironically think a precursor should be the reward for completing the story. Makes way more sense lore-wise (“we found these weapons in Arah’s armory, I’m sure a hero like you can unlock their full potential, etc etc”).
Hell, make them accountbound if Anet wants to pretend to care about the economy. People who want to make legendaries get their precursor, the robber barons who run the precursor market can still sell theirs, everyone wins.

You also forgot the Dredge Commissar in southwest Dredgehaunt (which admittedly never really deserved world boss status). I think the boss at the end of the minidungeon in Diessa Plateau also counts as a world boss, but no one ever cared about that place or the meta-event that opens it.
It’s still there, it’s just not visible any more.
Some sort of API or easy way to figure the schedule out would be great, especially since it’s now different with this new patch.
They broke this with the wardrobe release. It was a crap move. They don’t care.
Moving on.
They didn’t “break” anything, transferring runes off of unsalvageable gear was a side-effect of how the old transmutation system worked. It wasn’t strictly intended, but it wasn’t really an exploit so Anet left it be (much like the similar process that let you transfer soulbound skins between characters).
Can we get a response from Anet on this issue? I’d really like to understand the reasoning behind making some items un-salvageable especially without telling people beforehand. Although they probably don’t want to respond and players will easily provide a solution(if we didn’t already).
wubwub and karma gear were made unsalvageable a long time ago, probably shortly after launch (I’d imagine shortly after, and in response to, some of the big exploits that happened at that time), it’s not a new thing.
I’m not looking forward to much in season 2 either as its going to be just like the pavilion at the moment. 70ish people per map in about 3-4 maps getting to do the event and another 200+ spread out amongst god knows how many other maps clicking “join” to try get into it
…exactly like it’s always been, then? Because what I remember from season 1 was basically “fight to get into Blackgate or you’re not getting this done”.

Calling it “Skynet” isn’t nearly as clever as you seem to think it is.
jesus dont I have like gazilion stacks of this crap
Yeah, this, i’ve been deleting dragonite and dust for months because I just don’t godkitten need any more.
Autoattacking is not botting.
The old system was great because no matter how dead the hour, no matter how long it’s been since a content patch, there were always people who cared enough to do pre-events to get API event trackers moving. And there were always people to respond to them, even if it took guesting.
Maybe that was true on your server, but on mine (Maguuma), pretty much no one killed most of the bigger world bosses after the initial reset zerg had run its course, and even the minor ones were a crapshoot.
