Queue Outside the Heart of the Mists

Players can now queue from maps other than Heart of the Mists.

Changing maps will remove players from the queue to prevent them from acquiring dishonor during loading screens.

Accepting PvP invites will no longer redirect players to the Heart of the Mists.

The PvP panel no longer shows the game state while in Custom Arenas and activities to allow access to Unranked and Ranked Arena queues.

We only need something to care when we lost the game. The no lost or pip gained when you lost at 400 in season 1 was awesome for this. From my experiences, it do the same on your MMR. But since no one see MMR, nobody try to have the BEST lose they can get.

Solution: Give a way to player to see their MMR. Learn from the most Casual PVP game ever —→ Overwatch.

Well many premade lose to soloq team.

Most premade have a MMR biased for them.

So, usually, good soloqer get to play versus team.

With a good friend to care for a second point, I can hold my group on the first point to win matches.

2 solid can rekt premade. 3 is easier.

When you see a premade, you are MMR worthy of it.

If you kill it, you will get MMR cookies from it.

If you lose it, that’s fine… at least you tried. Try to make the lost at 400pts + for more cookies.

If you can only play 2 hours a week, you did not marry the right girl.

I have 2 children and a girl friend. I can play 15 to 25 hours a week. Children goes to bed… and your GF should know to be able to get alone 1 night on 2.

The game is ment to get 10 players of similar mmr and put them together on a 5v5, so … pliz explain me how is that dying in 3 secs or dying to npcs or double capping its having players of equal mmr?

So when a team wins 500 – 30 means equal mmr games ?
I had players saying sorry even before game starts becausr they had only 10 pvp games on them or they are just doing the dailys etc etc…

Its obvious that in theory this MM sounds ok and fairish..
But in practise it doesnt, and the worse is that u get these 2 or 3 very very bad players for the next 4 games or so.

There is a huge skill gap i mean really huge between players in the same game, when i win far 1v2 and trust me i do win way to often 1vs 2 and yet my team loses mid and close, im not lying here or saying im a super player , what im saying is that anet should improve this MM, this is the real problem here.

U can come and say that every one thinks hes a pro and think they should win all the time and such….. but trust me this MM problem is very real, and even tho im not a top player i can see a huge gap in skill between the players, and u want to know what… 99 percent of players that post in here are all average or below average players, when i talk ingame with top players asking them what they think of such treads and such , they reply they not even check the forum.

I wouldnt mind to have a bit longer ques , but have better games.
And yes i do have average 8 minutes or so when the game tells me there is 2-3 minutes que average.

In my two unranked games today (on Thief, then Warrior), I learned the following are apparently true (!?!?):

1. D/P Thief beats Mace/Shield+LB Wanderers Condi Warrior when fighting on point.

2. Mace/Shield+LB Wanderers Condi Warrior beats Staff Thief + Corruptionmancer + Trapper Guardian when fighting on point. In this same game, our Revenant announced that they were going to go for the enemy beast as soon as it spawned (but they seem to have gotten confused and went for our beast instead, as soon as it spawned).

The conclusion for #2, given #1, is that the Staff Thief should have been D/P, and the 3 side would easily win that 3vs1 instead of losing it. Right?

Either those must be true, or I’m getting matched against tremendously bad players, with teammates that are bad enough that the games are a difficult carry. RIP the dream of getting games where players on the opposing team are competent, and players on my team are also competent.

Sorry to burst your bubble but all of the competent solo players have stop playing GW2’s sPvP. All that are left are the sadists premades that enjoy burning ants with magnifying glass or players that have very little cares about getting good, who are used as fodder for the sadists enjoyment.

Come join us on Dragonbrand for some actual unscripted PvP action our server is currently open. (The only rewarding pvp action lefted in GW2 atm).

My soloq brothers are mostly posting on this thread right now. They seems good enough for me.

I rarely see bad matches in 1 night. But I have some.

I can related those bad matches to 1 or 2 Troll that are already block and reported.

sPvP is a niche game and will get many TOP and Mid-tier Hardcore players going on and off. This is the nature of the beast.

Overwatch will get old in a couple of week, I don’t despair about it.

We just need more people like me, to play with our NEXT gen good SPVP players.

Let’s share our knowledge to the Worthy Challenger that will compete in the ESL of tomorrow. (like I did for 4 years)

Improving ESL casting

The issue isn’t the casting. I think they do a pretty good job.

The problem is the marketing group at ANET is quite poor. They need to ramp up more excitement, get people passionate about certain teams. Right now, they just post a bunch of articles the week before a big tournament and then hope people come watch it.

Yeah, it’s run by a guy who were on QA 2 years ago.

Noticed the sale on heart of thorns,
But i myself am a pure competitive pvper,
And will most likely not pve at all ( except for gear )

Unranked Q 1 minute and a half pop, means population is healthy.

A lot of high level players stop playing the game. A lot of the hardcore mid tier players stop playing the game.

But a whole new spvp generations hero are hatching from the F2P craze of summer 2015.

We have the best META ever (more than 9 builds in there) but the build diversity for one class/specialization is still low.

Come to see yourself with Vanilla Condi Signet Necro or Condi Engi or Trap rangers or Bunker Guard to see by yourself.

Since I payd 50$ for it, 25$ is definately a steal to do spvp for the next months of your life.

low hotjoin population ?

nowadays i noticed that the official hotjoin rooms (server 001 server 002 … server 100 etc) seems to have only around 2 or 3 rooms with people.

well at least 2 of them are often full around 10 – 20 people with actual spectators that comment or chat with one another in /map chat.

other official hotjoin rooms seems pretty vacant. sometimes maybe 2 people go in there to farm daily or just practice dueling etc.

what happened to all the hotjoin players ?

Well for avg MMR, unranked queue time is 1 minute and half.

At high level, it’s around 3 min solo and 4 or 5 with trio.

The matches are better, except for AFK/quitters.

I like the PVP, I just have a problem with some players.

First, the ONLY reason why It took me so long to get started with PVP is a minority of players in the community itself, aka toxic players. You know… the kind that goes “OMFG you noobs you suck” not even a minute after the match starts cause your team lost the battle at mid … well yeah, a team usually loses it every match, does that mean there’s a noob team every match? No? Maybe you could just keep playing and give meaningful advices since you seem to win them all?

This doesn’t help making a team win, on the contrary, nobody wants to try harder when there’s a whiner in a team. I’ve been in teams that were doing bad and someone stood up and actually gave meaningful advices, that’s how you win, and that’s how you become better. Being toxic never made anyone win a single match, it just makes the experience (let’s remember, it’s a game) stressful for some and overall not fun.
You also gotta remember, not everyone plays at a “pro” level, nor want to. Like, I understand that some mistakes are not really acceptable in diamond/legendary divisions, but don’t blame people at lower divisions for not being perfect… It’s just stupid, and it’s even more true in unranked. If you want to get more people interested in pvp, it’s just unacceptable to insult them when they’re trying to learn, jeez.
And no, ignoring these people isnt always easy. I shouldnt have to completely turn off the chat whenever one guy in one team out of 5 decides he needs to be (or pretend to be) good at a game to shine in life.
I really, really wish there was a way to report this kind of behavior.

The second thing that is getting annoying is that with some players, whenever they’re losing (we’re talking 200 vs 300) just go afk, and pretend the team can’t win…
Well I don’t know what kind of pvp these people play, but usually you don’t just stop playing because you lose, it’s called fair play. Plus there’s a lot of situations where you can end up winning anyway. It’s actually very fulfilling to win against a team that gave you a hard time.
Again, no way to properly punish players who go AFK in the middle of a match. It shouldnt be hard to detect someone who doesnt move (or stay at the start)…

I’ll say this again, this is a game, a game is made to have fun. I know some of us (me included) only do pvp for the backpack, but that doesn’t mean it has to be an unpleasant experience. Anet has some work to do but the whole experience can be made a LOT better by the community itself.

Season 1 was great to adresse all your points.

MMR first. You could queue versus 1 amber, 1 saphire, 1 ruby, 1 diamond and 1 legendary versus your own team 5 rubies. Since it was MMR based, you have people around your skill level.

So, toxic players were less toxic because they were paired with people of their skill level.

Why? When you play 100 games a week and on those games, you have noobs in 80 of them… it become frustrating. Not your fault, but I understand them.

Since MMR first in season 1. Toxicity was not about Match-Making, but more about bunker meta.

AFK and leaver —→¨the pips system give you pips even if you lost games… when you lost in the 400+ range versus a “better team” or you don’t lost pips versus “average team” at 400+. This keep people going on, because they know they will not get punished by lost.

But they change the system because some top TEAMS (PZ and sPvP) didn’t like to get paired with other team of their MMR. (yeah pro-leaguer that want easy win) So, they where smurfing with one or two bad MMR but skillful players.

So, to adress smurfing they put PIP range first, then MMR without considering PIP range of the lowest of the team, but the highest.

This is where it goes badly…. Easy wins for TOP 20% MMR (kinda boring waiting queue 8 minutes for easy stomping noob) and MMR hell for bottom 20% MMR.

PIP range should not count. Season 1 was great. Solution to smurfing should have not given PIPS to highest divisions players. So, they would stop smurfing.

The old ranked leaderboard system was better, because you could play with who ever you like and the system tried to give your MMR team a challenge, so you could raise your MMR. No pips ranges means, it was able to find teams at your skill level.

The ranked means something. 1 was the best player, 1000 was the 1000th. It was awesome to work on your rank at that time.

The best duelist bruiser class / player

Greetings,

I want to know what would be the best bruiser duelist class and build for the META right now.

Why bruiser? I want the build be able to sustain 1v2 on juking a point (yeah I know thief can do that, like my team mate immpossible) and be able to kill in 1v1 the common stuff pushing far.

Yeah, looking for that home point holder build.

My thoughts about it, would be Mesmer. Just because portal play is so OP in many maps and can carry games a lot.

But, I really think that scrapper, mesmer, necro, warrior and druids can all do the job.

SO, It’s why I need you to say which would be best for that position. In this regard, if you are available to play 2 or 3 nights a week, it would be nice to learn from you and share games or even AG tourney.

Long term committed players need 2 more to get a great dedicated AG team.

We have 2 nights a week for training (depends on our RL scheduled) + AG Wednesday.

We prefer PVP exclusive guy or someone who will put pvp before the rest if one or more team member is online to develop chemistry and syncing rotations.

Try out period end when all members agree with 1 taker.

We run Scrapper, Thief and Tempest but will adapt with META changes. We can all run 2 to 3 classes and all have great spvp experiences.

So, Revenant + Druids/Mesmer would be our best fit… but META changes anyway. (a good reaper could be an asset but the mobility making that not our first choice)

We are able to win versus top players (screenshot to share if you want to see for yourself, can’t put that on public for “privacy forum rules” and a positive / saine competitive spirit).

(we are looking for sub that are already into strong team, so we could learn from the best)

We would love to get sponsored by a pro league team to coach us from time to time.

We play on TS for training night and our casual nights is free for all you like to do (but we like to win and don’t really like to lose for random reasons…).

With META changes (nerfed patches), you should know more than 1 class.

I would work on META dps roamer, META support and META conditions builds… so you know what they are about and understand how to counter them better.

After that, if your team need a dps roamer, you could “specialized” that… if they need support… and so on.

It’s not about DH.

Guardian class had been nerfed each balanced patch since released.

Retaliation nerfed is not good anymore and it’s like 25% of guardian traits.

The after cast of hammer, mace are terrible.

The output damage of the cleric amulet is lower than all other classes wearing cleric.

The DH high burst from traps, is a joke. Guardian aoe burst damage was good, adding traps is the cake of the crap. People call for OP BS because of that.

Actually, the more supportives weapons (staff, hammer, mace) need a better damage scaling or to hit faster.

Guardian need more HP to be able to be bruiser like or bunker like.

Guardian need 1 or 2 weapon that can do condition damage to get a viable condition build.

DPS guards or DH are good but they lack REV or Thief mobility making them subpar for dps roamer. (it’s why I play them with Traveller rune but that removing a lot of options)

The smite conditions buff + traits was really need. Now we can sustain versus condies without shouts.

But guardian need much more work to get balanced for all roles into pvp.

Coming from a 5k games played by guardian guy.

I can say that bunker mesmer (season 1) > Warrior Shoutbow (2014-2015) > Tempest Ele support > Scrapper gyro support > Warrior Bunker Banner > Bunker guard tie with Cleric Necro Transfusion.

For conditions it’s a lot worse than that.

So, all in all… Anet want guardian to be a squishie AOE bursting class that run slower than all others.

General:
• Chills skill cooldown reduction changed from 66% to 33% to match alacrity, movement reduction changed to 25% to make it less then cripple

Then what does they point of chill would be? It is slightly better than cripple, they why even bother? Just remove chill altogether.

Elementalist
• Soothing Ice internal cool down changed from 10 seconds to 15 seconds
• Cleansing water now as a 5 second internal cooldown
• Elemental bastion swapped with tempestuous aria
• Elemental bastion now just does the healing on aura application
• Tempestuous aria now reduces shout cooldowns by 20% and grants 250 bonus ferocity when you have an aura applied

Engineer

• Shield of absorption now grants a small heal for every projectile it absorbs. Base heal 50
• Signet of resolve changed the condition remove to condition boon convert
• Signet of mercy changed the active to grant 5 seconds of resistance to the revived ally and reduced its cooldown to 120 seconds and cast time to 2 ¾ seconds
• Bow of truth now shoots enemies damaging and striping a boon from them every 5 seconds. The command effects duration as been reduced to 6 seconds and healing increased by 20%. The bow now benefits from the spirit weapon trait to cause burning

This practically deals nothing for the class. Bottom dwelling guardians may get some plays, only because you suggest to nerf all other classes way more than guardian.

Mesmer
• Chronophantasma now summons the phantasms with only 25% of their health
• Tides of time as had its cool down reduction removed and now 30 seconds base and does not return to user
• Continuum Split has had its function changed, for every second the rift is open your health increases by 10% of max health, your endurance goes up by 10 and your skills recharge reduces by 10%. Split duration per clone is now 2 seconds for a total of 6 seconds. The rift is now 50% bigger and easier to see
• Evasive mirror now grants the mirror at the end of a dodge roll lasts for 2 seconds
• Mimic skill cool down reduced to 72 seconds
• Arcane thievery cool down reduced to 15 seconds now transfers only 1 boon and condition
• Prismic understanding, replaced might with 1 second of resistance
• Portal CD reduced to 40 seconds. Now a ground target skill with 1500 range (creates entry at your feet when exit is created, 1 second cast time, 5 second duration. Gives 1 second distortion on exit

Wow. You failed do address any actual issues and just went straight to nerfing random things while buffing other random things.

Necromancer
• Reverted the sceptre auto attack boon corrupt
• Minions now degenerate health slowly
• Minions don’t count towards nearby deaths because they are already dead
• Death nova no longer leaves a poison field behind but instead the minions do aoe explosion damage. When you are downed you cast Corrosive Poison Cloud at your location
• Life blast now life steals on hit

Yes, MM necro is a real problem… Why just don’t remove all minions from necro altogether? Minions already are in pathetic state and you suggest to nerfing them even more?
I will not call you troll, even if you are one, but i will suggest you to try to play MM necro in pvp. Especially against warriors, mesmers, druids, thieves and pretty much everyone except DH. They will wipe the floor with you before you even summon all your minions. Why you should play mm necro and engage with no minions? Because you suggest to make minions only effective when you just summoned them.

• Pulsating Pestilence changed to give a 5 sec buff that increases damage and condition damage by 2% when a condition is applied to you. Stacks 5 times for a total of 10%
• Bolstered anguish changed to increase condition durations by 10%
• Replenishing despair base healing applied increased by 100%
• Rejuvenating assault now sends out a healing aoe pulse instead of creating orbs
• Tranquil benediction changed to speed of the Centaur. While wielding a staff your movement speed is increased 25% when you have swiftness or super speed you take 10% less damage
• Grasping shadow now shadow steps through the mist to your foe and pulls them back to their current location 600 distance

Warrior
• Mending changed to Banner of mending. Summons a banner that heals allies in the radius and removes a condition every 5 seconds. Base heal 350 effects up to 5 allies. 120 cooldown 90 duration.
• Cleansing ire given an internal cooldown of 2 seconds on the adrenaline gain
• Adrenaline health duration reduced to 10 seconds
• Distracting strikes and burst precision traits swapped round
• Defy pain changed to take 10% less damage when below 50% health

Meh. Some petty buffs. It would make Discipline into essential trait line just like Defense. Way to go for less build diversity.


Your suggestions will pretty much kill the game or make every ranked game 5 revenants vs 5 revenants. Every other class would be viewed as trolls and that would be true.

Please nerf Mesmer, Necro and Warrior (and all other), so Viable Vanilla build could be something again.

Hey, thank you very much. This patch notes imply that Scrapper now will only auto-attack for more than 50% of the fights because he got nothing else to do.

We don’t have 2 weapons to swap in and out.

With your changes on hammer, Engi goes on Riot to have “swap weapon”.

Hammer + Rifles would be great power based scrapper.
Hammer + PP would be great for condi based scrapper.
Hammer + PS would be great for CC based scrapper.

Ill be honest im losing alot, not to mention all the goofy builds and i had a match were we had 3 thieves I on Dh and 1 necro.

Idk, ranked has insanely long que times and unranked seems full of just really bad builds and players. Or am i just the only one?

Unranked is great when the not-so-good players go on Ranked queue. (i.e. when Leagues are online, unranked got a super great player pool filled with quality)

Now since, it’s closed. We got toxic jerk, afk or rage quitters and bad players for a majority of queuers.

Please ANET, Like in the Test Season 1, 2 and Season 1… give the possibility to Queue in Rank for “off-season”. So, Unranked could have his majority of good players again.

Vanilla Guard buff:

1) Buff Guardian in putting Purity of Voices or Force of Will in Master (not a GM) positions.

2) Add AOE regen on heals to be on par of scrapper/tempest utility.

3) Reduce after cast on Hammer and Mace, they are the heavier after cast on the game, while guardian should use those easier than other mace/hammer user.

Thief burst:

1) please revised some of the OP meta build damage potential. Those dps roamer are “voiding” a lot of build that could work without them.

I don’t think you understand what the topic is about. We are talking about the inability for f2p players to be competitive in spvp (which is supposed to be all about competitive team based pvp). The point here isn’t that you can’t ‘do well’ on a core build, or that you can’t beat a HoT build on a core build. The point is that the elite specialisation are a straight upgrades of the base classes, and that there is indeed a gap between Hot and nonHot build. Meaning that the HoT owners have an advantage over f2p players, thus ruining the competitive aspect of spvp.

Back on topic, i agree on most of what op said and it’s definitely a good thing for spvp to let f2p players have access to elite spec.

I understand that topic is about QQ about why ppl should pay. First of all Anet model of Buy To Play is the greatest and it aproved it, second sPVP is just a little part of content and i dont see any reason why F2P acc = B2P acc bcs there should be some deference like in every mmo where ppl paying. Remember times when ppl even could play GW2 without buying it and now when ppl can play at F2P acc with some restrictions they want more without paying anything. GW2 isnt a MOBA game and Anet too need to pay solaries\game servers\rent etc. So i dont think that F2P acc should even QQ about smtng

All classes can if they play against bad scrapper. But in fact, good scrapper is king of 1v1s and I can think only about reapers who got solid chance to beat scrapper. It’s obvious that scrapper needs some small nerfs specially in survivability, but that was already said many times in many topics.

It’s wrong and then not obvious.

Any condition build burst will kill a scrapper after the 3 or so burst. (if the scrapper don’t peel or juke properly)

The thing with Scrapper, is the 1v1 is really long and they can always peel fast or juked the point.

But they will rarely kill you, unless you let them stun burst you after being 50% hp or lower.

Druids are not efficient bunker/point holders or even team support honestly. They require much stealthing to survive on point “which inevitably losses nodes” and focus so much on self sustain that they don’t really get the leeway to heal the party in spvp. They also must bail points entirely to survive when 2v1 focused. Druid is a terrible team support bunker spec but a great side node 1v1er.

Problem with the bunker druid meta is Thief and REV kill them. A bunker should be a counter to DPS.

In that case, it’s not. Bunker druid is a counter to Condi burst users.

It’s still “bunker” but not the kind of ROCK we use to find. It’s a Rock made of Paper.

A Way To Balance Bunker Without Destroying It

Bunker needs counters. I don’t agree with getting rid of bunker all together. I just think it needs more counters I.E. Ways to melt it down in a 1v1 or smaller group. The question is why does bunker have so many get out of jail free cards?

I think we need to ask ourselves what a bunker should be. In a 1v1 A glass canon and bunker should have both a good chance to beat each-other. They have opposite strengths and weaknesses.

But if we leave it at that then the bunker would still get melted by two players. And this is the big controversy, all these sustain passives and get out of jail free one click abilities.

1. Make invulnerable removable. I don’t mean easily. I can think of a couple ways to do this. You could give invulnerable stacks. Lets say 2 or 3 stacks. If the invulnerable is hard cc’ed then you lose a stack. That way you either have to spec for more than one cc to help you solo bunkers, or a group has to land either 2 or 3 cc to remove it. As far as coding goes, seems like it would be easy because you could simply use the aegis boon to rework invulnerable. You keep the property of aegis being removed from one hit, give it stacks (perhaps 3 max) and instead of every hit removing invulnerable, only selected hard cc.

What bunker you have difficulties with?

All bunker build got counterplay. Either CC or Condi burst do the trick.

I don’t agree that in 1v1 a DPS should kill a Bunker. Bunker can’t do much damage and this is a liability for your team. If you have more than 1 bunker class in your comp, you are making your team fights during for a long time without being able to kill anyone.

This is the risks to play bunkers.

1) For invulnerable, most skills that give it don’t work on Condis. So, it’s the time to apply them.

2) Another counter play to invul is that most of those skills will make you “immune to cap”. So, if your opponent do that, simply stand on point. When the invuln is done, boons strip stab then CC off point to win your CAP on a Bunker.

You don’t like stability?

1) Necro convert them to FEAR. This is a key play from reaper.
2) But thief, revenant and Mesmer can boon rip stability as well.
3) Sigil of nullifications is nice to stack with AOE pulsing field with classes that bring some way to boon strips….

All bunker build got many “counters” that you need to look for and know when to apply them.

The Rock, Paper and Scissor game is actually more fair with meta build than it was never done.

I think everyone should be some type of DPSer. Whether it’s sustained or burst DPS, or relying on conditions. Being tanky goes against the ideal of having no trinity IMO. Just make everyone straight up killers with the ability to sustain themselves

I am sorry you got the Try Hard (or not hard enough) experiences with AFK players.

Report them for Botting was asked by Anet a while ago. (they got big dishonor stack and play together after a while – mean you could have that kind of report on yourself too)

It happen less rarely and usually the guy that do is on my block list and rage quit the game because I did block that verbal abuser.

By the way, the harder your team try even if it’s -1 or -2, the less MMR hit you will get if you can come up with a 300 pts or more.

condi chrono is ok. scrapper is ok. but condi berserker need a lil nerf on how fast they can apply condis. i mean kitten i use reaper against war and i seriously ran out of skill to return all condi when they can hit u 3 times with mace. other than how fast they apply condi they ok.

You are right, Chrono Condi or Scrapper had already been Balanced more than once in the balanced patches.

Some classes can’t be countered with what you play right now, you need to switch or have a friend in your team to counter it. This bring great rotations choices and strats. This is healthy for the game.

Hello ArenaNet Team,
this is not a complaint but more of a constructive criticism of your competitive PvP mode ( sPvP ) and how your marketing plan affects it.

I just came back to the game after seeing stream of competitive play on GW2, playing esport games most of the time ( Moba especially ) i wanted to give it a shot since i heard mostly if not only good about the competitive PvP gameplay, and see for myself.

It has been a few days now and i really enjoy the gameplay, a bit clusterkitten with the AoE but it is really fun and really make me want to play it in a more competitive spirit.
And here is why i posted this message, i think i m the typical customer you were aiming for with your F2P model and the promote of esport competition like you did.

But
I found it a bit sad that any player who want to do sPvP as you would play a moba game for example or any competitive game whatsoever, that people has to buy a 45e xpac for 3 spells to be on an even footing.
Knowing that if they just plan to play sPvP they wont really use/enjoy 95% of what the xpac content add to the game.

So here is my main concern, you promote esport to a mmo game ( which is pretty uncommon, so do it right and it might do wonders ) to bring more player to test the game and enjoy sPvP which the idea was to create competitive PvP directly from the start of the game ( If i m not mistaken ).
But it is not unless you pay 45e. This is a big disappointment ( i don’t say you cant have fun because i do, but you definitively can’t be competitive ).

So instead of making this content ( 3 spells and 3 passives for each classes in sPvP only ) available via IG time ( grinding ) or right from the start , and promote real esport potential game ( via esport competition which costed you money i guess ) you loose a good part of the player base you were aiming for. Which eventually was potentially buying your xpac not because they want to do sPvP but because they would have been welling to support a great competitive mmo game and enjoy the rest of it ( and do not forget about skins, moba games make hudge deal of money just with skin features ).

I really feel that you created frustration instead of enjoyment.
And you probably lost a lot of money from potential esport players by doing so.

From my point of view you did a big marketing mistake, but you can still correct it and make this game more esport oriented as you seem to want to, while still earning a bunch of money in the process.

I ll probably play the game a bit more for the fun since i still enjoy getting rekt due to my rock bottom skill at the moment but it wont probably last long since i m not welling to invest that amount of money to potentially play a game at a competitive level.

I hope you will hear my opinion and improve your game in this way, and who knows maybe one day i ll come back with friends and invest time and money in the game.

I wish you good luck for the future, you are still one of the most played mmo and you should keep it that way ( or increase it even more :p )

Many F2P said it was P2W and the mmorpger said it was B2 play.

I don’t agree with that. If we want to compete on the MOBA level, we need to offer MOBA like experiences.

A small download (only for spvp for god sake), a free download and access and a possibility to grind game currency (gold for gem) to buy Hero (or elite spec) with a free weekly rotations.

200 millions moba players versus the 20 millions mmorpg players, we have a possibility to raise sPVP way above PVE “scale” in number of players.

I don’t see anything wrong with them unlocking traits and skills for spvp only. F2p is already pretty limited. Most chat features are turned off and you only get 2 characters.

The problem is that hardcore pvp players have more than 1 or 2 account and pay for the HOT Buy to Win pack to get on equal footing.

SPVP had been made SKILL based (no grind involved), choices should be EQUAL for All, including the expac SPEC.

Opening the Elite spec for free in SPVP, would be like a “DEMO” for F2P PvX players that want to try before they buy. Win-win.

In summer 2015, I did played condi mesmer (“Dal Dal Dal”).

The build was amazing. Everyone could use it and kill with a 98% ratio. The only I could not kill was the bright guyz that stop moving (torment) and attacking (confusions). Nobody could kill me in 1v1.

It was a condi cheese build. Of course, they nerf some traits so the confusions/blinds/torment, so now it’s harder to pull out even with new HoT spec.

The thing is, that build was stronger than it is now, but was considered cheeze. But the nerfed condi mesmer of today is in the META.

So, when I was trying to play that build with Trackful and friends, many did say some comment about the cheeze but love a lot my 1v2 on far… killing over and over players. Even 1v3. It was a great OP need to nerf classes.

But still, I was not able to get “credit” for my kills because of that “cheeze” aura.

Actually, “cheeze condis” are stacked in soloq or in teamq. So, that “old mentality” of cheeze for condis is gone or less prevalent than in the past.

We really need 1 or 2 “more” different classes that AOE cleanses with viable build, to balanced the conditions actually.

So, if scrapper knows what he is doing, he should hold against 2 people and that isn’t a problem? Needing 3 people to kill 1 skilled scrapper, because he can hold 2 people, that is not a reason to nerf this class to the ground?

Yes, now i see. Scrapper ins’t broken, you just need to hope that enemy team will 1 scrapper and no more, because if they have 2, you would need 6 people to bring them down.

I’m sure some of the top players could get a lot of viewers and maybe even charge for access to the server they are on if they did a clinic for the profession they main on.

This is mainly what they do, when they twitch. Go On their channel and ask them questions, they will answer them and give you exemple in play.

There is Guild that help new players to get better, LFG from Trevor is one on NA and Novaoke (spelling) got the MISTBAND on EU.

Many guilds do scrimmage sessions together, so you probably want to be into one.

There is a reddit for pvp team, that could help you find or create a team. With a team, you can find another team (with same skill level) to setup your own scrimmage.

So basically, the community is and was always “active” to improve PVP for their Team. And usually, they don’t wanna have their competitors better, so they keep their own “glitchs, secrets” for themselves.

Sorry, we seen those counter thread too much.

All classes and builds got counter.

Scrapper melt in 1v2 if they don’t juke properly. And Juking is hard versus 2 players that know what they are doing.

Wtf? How is this an valid argument? Someone needs 2 people to be killed and you defend it? Shame on you.

You shame me, but you didn’t learn to read properly.

I said that doing 1v2 is not easy and need skill.

You can do that versus 2 people that don’t know how to play together. But you can’t at high level without a lot of skill.

Sure, the amount of block and evade is high, but Bunker Mesmer got more block and evade and are not Meta.

Scrapper at high level is balanced with other high level player with a meta build.

I can 1v2 all day with a none viable bunker guard spec, with a none viable trap ranger spec, without HOT and more.

1v2 are not supposed to happen if you play versus players that know what they are doing.

So, claiming otherwise actually, just show that you don’t.
