I don’t call for nerf, but the GM trait that all DH used to get some sustain versus condies should be available for guard. (switch that GM trait into a core line with a core gm trait into the DH line)
Virtues are not balanced, it’s real. But that GM trait is the bread and butter of DH survivability.
It’s what make the difference between the pure medi guard dps and the new DH medi guard dps.
Changing weapon that are common to DH and to Guard will not help because… you know, DH can use them.

Now that those games are out, we see the MOBA scene growing stronger than ever.
It’s still time to keep Gw2 as it is (and not deleting features in it, plz plz plz) and offering a new game based on SPVP (simply cut all pve and wvw out of it, to have a small download, so f2p try it without wasting 60gig of download).
It should be easy enough to make a SPVP only downloadable game with specialization rotation and a means to buy those specialization at high GEM cost.
That way SPVP players could contribute to GEM store like the others with clear incentives.
Both model work, make them work together.
Put that game linkable with Gw2 game buyers optional. So, the Buy 2 Win crowd would still be happy to get their same old model, while the f2p pvp players could cater with mind like players into a fair competitive model.
Without a PVP only offering, Gw2 can’t compete in the sPvP scene like the MOBA do.
And when I say compete, I don’t talk about 10 000 spvp players.
I think about the 100 millions potential customer.
ascended gear was ridiculously cheap and easy to get last season. It was obviously a miscalculation (or maybe deliberate to get people to play) However it completed ruined the “economics” of ascended gear crafting.
I may not fully agree with these current changes but it definitely needed to be made harder to get.
Asking spvp players to grind CRAFTING crap thing, is not going to help us at all.
At least the CRAFTING stuff should be buyable (30g +, i dont care about cost but grinding craft game is so boring and nineties — UO – EQ grind bad stuff that GW should oppose since it’s core is based on that).
Since Academy Gaming stop playing Gw2, since you delete team rank Q, since PRO league is more often offline than online…
… the competitive spvp community is trying the new pvp offering they did missed for 4 years.
Please, come with a solution (auto-tourney, plz plz plz) to help competitive play GROW and not Stagnate (like your pro league format, is kinda stagnating compare to the ESL weekly cups).

I am sorry, 80% of the voters didn’t played more than 100 spvp games.
This was like a PVER thing to kill the small SPVP community that struggle for 4 years… no more, no less.
Guyz, a game wide POLL for a PVP game mode is completely bad for the PVP community.
Anyone with some intelligence can understand that most PVE players don’t play sPvP and so, their vote should be null and void.
Only players with hundreds of spvp games should be able to VOTE for the sPvP game mode.
Anet think that deleting is a FIX to a problem, it shows over the year that deleting more than 50% of the spvp games demonstrate a suicidal tendencies.
No other PVP game offer less Features over time. All game give more or add up new features into their offering.
For Gw2, deleting is better than offering more.
But please, pay more cause they need money to delete it even more.
Please DELETE Anet to fix the removing of features from our game…

So usually when the season ends ranked is unavailable to play, but this time it has been left on. So what is the difference between playing ranked and unranked now out of season?
I came here to get the same answer.
I want to know if the MMR from Ranked Season is used for Off-Season or it’s another MMR.
I think that the rating or MMR from the Season, should be available in unranked and in ranked off-season. Just don’t affect leaderboard or badges for those two.
That way, the system would be more transparent and would help players to take the good decision regarding their rating.

Since you can drop divisions now, it will be better than before. Because the guyz that made that MMR hell are playing in the bronze division and will go back there if they pass to the silver and are not ready to stand their own in it… and so on.
What Evan didn’t tell to the OP is, it’s not just “accurate” MMR but much more about who you win and loose than how much you win and loose.
If you win 10 matches in a row versus low MMR players you will have a MMR lower than a guy that win 5 matches and lose 5 matches versus high MMR players.

Removing it and giving only 8 stats with icon, is not great. I don’t mind a resume of them, but please give me back the advances stats score sheet we had.

I bet Even could do a Ctrl+F on the match making code and not find the random number generator. That’s not how teams are formed. They’re literally the closest 10 players to each other in terms of mmr. Let me repeat that:

Not random. Only in the sense that it only takes into account other people who are queuing at the same time as you, so sure there could be others closer to make a more even match.
If you played chess and ended with 8 pieces and the other 4 but you got checkmated, guess what you still lost. And real chess players use the same exact glicko system, based off wins and losses.

This is what we all wishes for 4 years.
This is not what we have right now in Ranked or Unranked Q.
What we have right now is a system that want you to win or lose a match. It will pair you with people it is sure you will lose with when it decide you lose that match. It will pair you with people it is sure you will win with when it decide you win that match. (Even Evan said it is so because now, its MMR based so they do that to make sure you have the right MMR)
And this is borked because, some people are under evaluated because they play with friends with bad MMR, some people are over evaluated because they only play with recognized top players and many got carried by TS/Discord captain rotations calls.
But, it would be way better if we could get those 10 closest skills level together for a match even if the rating are over/under evaluated. The new season is still new, but with the matches I got, I know it’s still the same old junk that many people are crying about since 4 years. (bad/wasted players or noob or guy that is okay, but didn’t played the thousands of game need to understand the game at veteran skill level paired with Veteran)
And unfortunately, we will get that QQ again and again because the MM is still flaw.

Thank you for unlocking my pvp level.
But… it’s completely useless.
Nobody can look at it.
Just had to log out of this. The first 10 games were fun and I went 7/3. Then once the rating hit it was defeat, defeat, win, defeat, defeat. Just like previous seasons, there’s this “screw you wall” where the game just starts putting you into impossible matches. Absolutely no fun to have such poor quality match’s either.
Should have tanked the first 10 games and probably would have had a much more fun season. Now I’m locked into this for months.
The longer the season runs, the better matches will gets. It hasn’t even been 12 hours yet. There are a lot of people that will be going through placement matches for a while, and they don’t have a fully accurate rating yet. This ‘wall’ could just be players getting home from work and school and playing PvP for the first time today.
Please, don’t try to not say (oh ho!) that your match making don’t do stupid things like:
1- putting people of different skills level in the same team.
2- putting people of differents skills level in the other team.
3- Plug and Pray that the matches will get good.
Actually, from experiences, most matches have 1 guy that is considered the best that need to carry 2 guyz that can’t swing a sword properly.
People will be happy when TEAM A and TEAM B will have people that have similar skill level all together.
And unfortunately, this is not the case at all even in the “new placement” match-making, we could still get paired with people that don’t know what rotations is versus PVP god players (simply player that know rotations and know how to pilot a build in 1v1 without dying).
Nothing of this related to the first match of a guy coming back from school or work.
It’s much more about the fact, that you cannot put people of similar skills together versus another team of the same level. And nobodies know why, except you.

It seems they have logs and numbers.
REV easy burst combo is main reason why meta is bunky. And it is the main reason since season 1. Nerfing all tank because of REV dps opness was not the appropriate answer.
But still, easy REV burst with evade will still work and do what it need.
But now, not every joe would make it happen.
It will get the same with next xpac. The new OP classes of the Power of Sales will look at all others getting specialization nerfes and will have their own after everything got change again.
Enjoy a game where the META is not made by the player decision from their builds, but by the nerf and buff of the dev.
But so far, so good. I like those little balances changes and always find a way to do what I have fun with in this game. I still miss bunker guard, but I did adapt to new meta and many meta died (shoutbow war, bunker guard, decap engi, power necro were my favorite) since then.
For a 4 years game, the spvp scene is still strong.
The next Xpac will bring back many spvp lovers into the scene and perhaps season 5 will do as well.
Let’s hope that Anet can make our beloved game a Phoenix come back and bring back all the serious pvp players we lost over the years.

But… please, make something for TEAMs, so new team form up with goals in mind. The auto-tourney at released was a strong vector of team creations (who doesn’t want to try their best to earn GEMS???).

Basically, not all gyros should be able to interrupt. If you wish to interrupt, you should use the things that are built to do that. They don’t want just any gyro to fill that role.
Please don’t take this as me defending them. I’m just explaining things in case you truly don’t understand.
Gyro nerfed should had been put on DH trap as wells.
DH Traps compare to Scrapper Gyro or Tempest Shouts.
They are instants and do DAZE with a minor trait (not a grand-master one) when they trigger.
I am sorry, I can’t make a condi-scrapper nor a condi-engi working since the dread Engi Killing June 2015 patches.

Unranked is atrocious, I’ve won 4v5 games because other side is so terrible and I’ve lost 5v4 because of the reverse.
It’s not even class stacking, the MMR system in unranked is basically non existent/trash tier.

Since, gyro can’t DAZE while destructed… if I rez 1 versus a cleave of 3, your 3 can’t focus fire or are annoyed by some peelz from my awesome team mate.
Actually, scrapper got nerf engouh that versus 1 good player, I can’t rez 1 anymore with all my gyros tricks…
This means, that I put scrapper off my awesome REZZER support build and I switch to DH mender for when I want to REZ like a God. (plz consider that both where not meta build, fine tune to rez like GOD because this is my favorite play style, where I played Bunker Guard with runes of Mercy.)
Unfortunetaly for me, it’s way harder to be the best rezzer in the game than before, but it’s still possible to get better and be able to do, what others can’t.

Being possible to Rez someone with 3 cleaving players , and resign someone before the invuln frames were completed was total bs and should not have been a thing to begin with. This was one of the best decisions Anet could have implemented in Pvp, and there is counteplay to Guardian rezzes in the form of stability and Aoe cleave since the Guardian can’t put Rez cleavers as effectively as Engie pre patch.
That game gave you different choices and build to make something working.
To be the best rezzer of the game meant you can’t kill anyone even in 2v1 if your other mate was a bad dps or something.
That time is gone. We don’t have choices anymore because people think they are the only “right” around while other are not. It’s so OP to not being able to kill anyone with a bunker build, right? (that crowd…)

The changes to Retribution only made Condi Rev and other non-meta rev builds unplayable.

Actually they got nerfed by the number of Defensives boons they can stack from 9 to 5. So power REV surv, is nerfed. Probably bad power rev will need Paladin amulet now.
Off-seasons are great to find new pvp friends.
It’s a good time to try none-meta thing, try the new changes from balanced patches and find new ways to get better.
Great to work your ranked and unranked MMR.
Not sure the off-season ranked MMR follow the league ranked Q.
But at least, the Match-Making is way better in off-season (when you have work your MMR on those Q).
DH need the same treatment that Scrapper got for Gyro.
Cast time + Daze removal.
And… they need to set the CD when the trap triggered, not when the trap is put. Like gyro, the CD goes when they Gyro exploded.
As long they don’t do it, DH will still get that OP stigma for good reasons.

But there is a pretty big chunk of players who don’t pvp because of the softwall put by premade teams. Those might outweight the number of people that quit
But most people who vote for the poll don’t play PVP.
If the pool had been restricted to the 1000+ ranked games players, it would had been a totally different results.
So, yeah… the hardcore player base (20%) of spvp have more incentives to find other games than continue the masochist feels of seing his beloved game options DELETE over and over.
On the other way, it will be way easier for high mmr players to get a high rank because we had been constantly put versus premade while soloq, because no other soloq team was good enough for us.
But, our hardcore spvp team players are most likely to have average MMR because they most likely play with BAD MMR players in their “pug” premade from time to time.
I didn’t care, because my win ratio as soloq guy versus average team is more than 60%.
I struggle versus super pug premade (people from The Mist Initiative, PZ or NL) when they Q together. That’s about it… and… well, they don’t RANK Q much these dayz. They scrim or play other game.

All classes and builds need peels when focus fire.
But the guyz that was peeling for you had seen their build (support) nerf over and over again.

Until then, find some friends that are “godly supportive” and you will be good to go.
I usually do -1 fights with Ele/druids when I am on my scrapper or dh mender for minutes. Peelz shine, but need the best skill and reflex to make them GREAT.
People think that support is boring and faceroll easy. But the reality, it’s the most demanding role because you need to look at your team mate conditions/hp/positions and your opponent “burst/cc” to time the peelz correctly.
Since scrapper got Daze nerfed, the best peelz are now on the DH mender builds (with various weapon that are not meta… so bad support players will say you play bad build — to spectral backstabbing dagger inc — ) from my experiences so far (10 games on new meta, but thousands of games on ele, scrapper and DH support).

This change removed the balanced between stomp or cleave.
Now, just cleave.
The game with HoT and Powercreep was already better to cleave than stomp.
But now, it’s clearly better.
Removing choices is not helping to have a more skillful play.
Actually, each patch since HoT is destroying “support” type of builds in giving more incentive to play bruisers/damage builds.
The Rock, Paper, Scissor balanced between bruisers, dps and support is again changed to favor damage and make it harder for support.
That’s kinda sad really, because the skill gap between 2 supports guy is already more important than the skill gap between bruisers.
Whatever… versus “bad players” I still REZ without much remorse. Versus the “decent” one, I don’t care to try “alone” anymore.
DELETE THIS OR THAT don’t fix the problems.

I suppose it depends on how high you want to go. Want to be top 100? You’re probably going to need to put more effort in.
Actually, I play more hour per week than 75% of our Top 100. (yes, they are not really online actually)
I have 5k more games than half of them.
So I guess, over time, I did practice and learn enough to be on par with some.
The thing is… grinding PIPS or grinding GAMES don’t make SKILL based ranking.
But well, with your new intents revealed about TEAM play, not sure Gw2 was made for me. I guess 10k games down the drain is more likely to happen than continuing to steadily play that “kindergarden” pve competitive game that will cater to solo/duo q.

I want a full fledge PVE stats system for SPVP.
They should give hard and soft cap to some attributes, changes some skills/weapons scaling, add some diminishing returns and iterate changes over time.
SPVP with amulet is like Kindergarden of Gw2 PVE.

An overwhelming majority of players already play as solo/duo in leagues, but that doesn’t mean we’re not thinking about the groups and the guilds.

The Match-making Min-Maxer all known that your system is best played with 2 players.
Adjust your system to favorise premade and many would take the time to create some. But actually, the flaw of the system… is not enough team compete, so full casual premade are pit versus pro-team party.
Dropping the ball on full team ranked Q because your MM is designed to duo Q for the win, is not a proper solution.
the system favorises premades, the system puts premades againts solo players, the system dont give premades a suficient overweigth in mmr to compensate the suposed superior coordination and practice that have “real premades” to balance whith a competent pug group(whith more individual skill to compensate the “team efect”), the statistic of premades losing 50/50 is only caused by “false premades”(lfg premades, mist premades, “we win last match, repeat” premades, and “we dont play pvp but go pvp for guild misions” premades )

Pug team versus team that practice each night, is what made the actual RANK Q games better be played with 2 or less people.
Cause 3 or 4 queues, will artificially raise your pug MMR to meet “real team”.
No team-based ranked mode seems like a bizarre choice.
I think having both a solo/duo and 5man team queue options, which are eligible for ranking (possibly on separate tracks) could be interesting. Whether that is viable in terms of playerbase though I am not sure.
Push some GEMS each month with special in-game “auto” tourney (bring back Paid Tourney) that are 100% full premade. This will make the Q full of teams like it was at released.
I don’t understand why anet launch PvP League seasons and esport with poor classes and skills balance, meta build , top pvp guild facerolling randam pugs, players exhausted after it , the overall ‘PVP’ population decreased , ’AFK pvp players, PVP troll , Gold seller , USD to legendary rank , cheaters , 5v4 matchup , disconnection , etc.
My guild members and i are burnout after the PvP League seasons and decided to leave the PVP game mode in gw2.
Anet should canel PvP League seasons & e-sport because it just bad as WvW tournament.

What actually happend is that casuals and people who wasnt able handle competition and was happy befor League system because they could tell / lie themselfs they was “good” , since was no way to actually see who was good and who was not , started to hate the League system. No , if you cant go high in League system you are NOT good and you need practise. No sPvP isnt something all should have same rewards and be happy. Yes sPvP is something competitive. And in competition should be a hierarchy no matter if you like it or not. Yes future of sPvP is esporting. Yes esporting need meta builds.No meta builds are not something wrong.Yes refuse play a good build because you think play your self made yolo useless build is better is called stupidity.No esporting dont need a LARGE community , even if a big community always helps. 95% of the League contenders where in that position. After each season, the percentage of none-spvp players did rise compare to the “competer”. The league were made for filthy casual pve players.

But Unranked MMR and Match-making is better than Ranked for high-skill level players (that know what working his MMR is). It’s why the Legendary division take 1hour + q, good players play unranked. It’s more rewarding as a competitive “experiences”.
TL;DR
League season is a place to gather all none-spvp players. So, competitive spvp players could play unranked together and have great matches, while the others are still grinding their pips for a legendary PVE backitem.
It seems to me that some you in these forums LIKE the current state of things. You like the elite specs and all the advantages that they offer. You deny that you have an advantage over other players because, “Hey! I paid for it!”
It’s this type of attitude that’s driving new players away. This is why pvp is the gutter.

Yes, right… people…. this game is F2P. It’s an option. And yes people, to compete in this game you need to Buy (or Pay) HoT. So it’s a B2W or P2W game.

PvP was uniqe, hard (maybe impossible) to get top rank and many beautiful things.. You ruined everything about pvp..

The best thing would be a spvp sub-forum on PVP forums, so pvp players see them each time they click on the forum section.

An overwhelming majority of players already play as solo/duo in leagues, but that doesn’t mean we’re not thinking about the groups and the guilds.

The Match-making Min-Maxer all known that your system is best played with 2 players.
Adjust your system to favorise premade and many would take the time to create some. But actually, the flaw of the system… is not enough team compete, so full casual premade are pit versus pro-team party.
Dropping the ball on full team ranked Q because your MM is designed to duo Q for the win, is not a proper solution.
