No. Unique names are important. When you look at chat you see the character name and not the account name. Imagine going to Lions Arch and seeing 30 people named Dulfy. It’s not going to fly. Having a unique character name is part of my character’s personality. Use some imagination and creativity. You can use accent characters in your name and spaces as well.

I find minis pointless because they are so slow that it isn’t even near your character unless you are standing still. Even then it stands so far away you would think your character had not bathed in months. Then of course every time you change zones you have to activate your mini again. I think they would be a cool way to to show your character’s personality a bit more if it were not for those issues. They don’t really do much for me when I turn around to see it half a map away.
The new items, hair, faces and such are extras. If you want extras you can acquire them in different 2 ways. 1. Buy gems with real money 2. Buy gems with in game gold which cost you no real money.
This is a B2P game. You get to play non-stop 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, all year at no cost past the box price. On top of that you get regular updates. If you want the extra stuff beyond that then use one of the 2 methods I mentioned above.
Best of luck and safe travels. I’ve been in places with no Internet, TV and so forth myself for extended periods of time and may very well be going to one of those places again soon so I know it’s not a real joy ride. Happy holiday’s.
Making us paying for something we should rationally have by default for free? It is not only wrong, it is offensive.
What makes you think you should have more mat storage for free? You got 250 for each mat when you bought the game. If you want extra things you are not entitled to them just for logging in. You can easily have these extra things by buying gems with real money or, wait, wait, converting in game gold to gems. The later you can easily earn by playing the game without spending one dime of real money.
When you bought the game, box price, you got unlimited play time for as long as the game is active. I’m sorry you feel like you are entitled to everything else that comes out after, but hey, you will live.
quaint, my dear. Now please allow the adults to talk.
I agree why don’t you let them.
It’s a B2P game. People have been asking for upgrades to material stacks and been saying they would pay gems for it. Here it is. It is an extra and if you want it you can use gems to get it. The great news is you can do so without spending a penny of real world money. Gold to gems. Call it cash grab all you want but Anet/NcSoft is a business and a general rule of thumb for any business is to make money.
I’m really not opposed to giving Anet money. They’ve had a lot from me :P But their marketing team is pretty terrible at pricing gemstore items meaningfully. I’ve always felt like standard prices are a good 25-50% higher than they ought to be in some cases, when you consider them in terms of how much the full game costs, how many times they can be used, mechanical limitations and general gameplay value.
Feel free to disagree, but just because it’s a luxury item doesn’t mean some thought shouldn’t go into the pricing.
If you consider how much the box price is and how many hours you have played how many other forms of commercial entertainment that also adds constant updates can you get for the same price per hour of entertainment?
And gain those upgrades can be bought via in game gold that is earned from, you guessed it, playing the game.

Could you imagine the nightmare that would follow if these were just added to the options available to making new characters? There would be enough nerd rage to power the city of New York until the end of time that existing mains have to pay to use them while new characters get them for free.
Exactly it is a no win. If the new faces were suddenly available for free for new players or new character creations people would be running around here with their heads exploding. Wait they will do that no matter what anyway.

It is a great QoL upgrade option. Just because you think it is too expensive for your taste doesn’t make it bad. It just means you think it isn’t fair because you want it but don’t want to buy it via real money or gold to gems. Sorry for your luck. I’m going to max my mat slots out.
People have been asking for this in the suggestion forum for some time now. I think it’s great. I’ll max out as soon as I can.
You bought the game and you can play all you want all day long all night long for only the cost of the box price. Things like new hair and new faces are extras and if you want them you buy gems and get them. As a bonus you can even buy gems with in game gold to get them. That’s how it works.

Seriously, Anet why is this seemingly major feature of the forum more or less ignored? If it can’t be fixed just remove it and replace it with a Google search box. I hate to be harsh but the busted search function should be embarrassing to you.

You can transmute that weapon your Guardian has onto a white weapon and make it account bound to use for your Warrior.
To be honest, you can pass me anyway. There is no catching up, the current method, my suggestion, none. So as far as making it so no one can catch me, that is already achieved. As long as I stick with this, there is no catching me. .
That brings up another point about the leader boards. They are kind of pointless now because there is no catching up. If someone started playing in say Jan 2013 they can never catch up. Perhaps a better way to make leader boards more fun would be to have a reset say every 3 months. Keep the current leader board for those that started at launch. Have a separate leader board that resets every 3 months for people that are into competing in such a thing. Kind of like an achievement point game that allows others that started playing later to play along as well.
My PvE Mesmer runs circles around my PvE Guardian when it comes to damage + multiple target control. I’ll take it.
Does everyone really think this is just about staying on the top of the board? .
Yes..
If you miss out on your dailies, you end up missing out on points you can no longer acquire. From a leader board perspective, you are going to be driven to get every possible point that is made available. .
I’m a super casual player. I usually get my daily achievement chest with normal casual game play. That said, now that there are achievement point reward chest capping the daily is a bad idea. Yes, you are in the leader boards and it is in your best interest to limit the amount of achievement points that can be earned per day to maintain your status.
For me, the casual player I will take every achievement point I can get should I earn them through my daily play. Why? Because I need them for the next reward chest, not for some leader board thing. If I am playing along, get my daily 5 done, but continue to play and happen to do more on the list I deserve those points.
It isn’t my fault that you are competing on a leader board and want some daily cap so you will have to spend less time trying to stay on top. If that is so important to you then you do all the dailies you can. Don’t cap me just to make it less of a burden on you.
Congrats! However I’m not sure what the big deal is? You ground out to L80 in the starter instance? I suppose I don’t see the value in that aside from spending a lot of time in the starter instance.
It seems even if you sneeze funny GW2 gives your character XP. I’m a mega casual player and I have a hard time finding leveling a grind. I play, do stuff that seems fun and I get XP and I level. If I want an extra 7 levels due to being lazy I craft level cooking to 400 for like 8 gold.
It’s actually kind of hard to not earn XP aside from standing in main cities.

I will fly you out and give you a bow, I will put on a set of mail and grab a sword and we will enter a 8X10 room minus the furniture. Who do you think is gonna walk out of that room? I’m sorry my money is on me.
LOL now this thread is getting funny. Wait it was already funny.
This thread officially sponsored by Eggnog – It’s never too early to get your Christmas on!
This thread “Legendaries… A joke?”:
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/Legendaries-A-joke/
Yes Legendaries are a joke:
What did the Legendary say to the Guardian?
Nothing a legendary is an inanimate object. What does a player call the mystic forge when trying to get a precursor for a Legendary dagger?
The IncineratorWhat do you call a player trying to get a precursor for a Legendary shortbow?
The DreamerWhat did they player with The Dreamer tell his guild mates?
"Never play leap frog with a unicorn."What did the new player say when he got his Legendary?
"Thanks Dad!"
Just chiming in once again I suppose.. Sigh. I’m fine with mounts if they are only cosmetic and there is an option to toggle them off so I don’t have to see them. For me it is an aesthetic thing. I find them visually unappealing and unnecessary screen clutter. To be blunt I think they look silly. That is my opinion. I would rather not have to see giant Norns ridding around on giant mounts and so forth. Call me a naysayer if you want but in a game that is based so strongly on visuals I’d like to keep my visual experience as pleasant and possible. Seeing everyone riding around on goofy mounts would tarnish that experience for me. So, sure, ride your mounts, just let me turn them off so it looks like you are just running as normal to me.
I have 2 L80, soon to be 3. The character I’m leveling now is the farthest I’ve gone on the personal story (L30ish story I think). I don’t really care for the personal story because my memory is shot and unless I do story events in a row I forget what the story is and the point of it all. haha
It just seems like a boring task of go here > watch some boring cut scenes that I’ll forget anyway > go there > kill some stuff > go back over there for more cut scenes > go there and kill some more stuff.
It just doesn’t interest me and I only really did any of them for XP but since XP drops from doing just about everything in the game aside from standing in main cities, I don’t feel the need to bother with it. If my memory were better and I actually had an interest in GW2 lore I’d probably finish it once on a character. Heck, I don’t even know the story behind GW2, haha. I just go around exploring and doing what seems fun for me at the time. The personal story rarely fits into that.
About the goggles, I love them but i’d rather see it as some head gear, than being part of an haircut. I don’t think it would be too difficult to put them on the top of the forehead of the character.
There you go. Goggles on head gear.

You guys are fantastic! It worked perfectly! I’m so glad I won’t have to lose these two back slot items now. I adore them, but man, I was so desperate. This saved the day.
Thanks again!

Well to be rude that armor looks like a junk pile anyway.
Send me a mail ingame. Kain Francois
ummm… okay… I just mailed you 50 black lion chests since you asked and all I guess.
You may need to buy a backpack set that comes with a white back piece. For example (Tiger Charr Backpack Set) Then transmute it onto the leather back strap that comes with it.

Let me be the first to say, Anet please nerf this farming spot. People should not be allowed to mindlessly farm veterans because I like to worry too much about how other people play the game. Additionally I imagine that map chat will suffer from people arguing when a veteran is taken out of order. People might occasionally say something not so nice to each other. Heck! Some people might even have to be blocked by other players. Imagine the horror of it! This will give a horrible impression on any newer player that might venture there and see such a monstrosity going on. If not nerfed immediately, this farming area is certain to be the downfall of GW2.
Trolls End. It has plant nodes at the end and then when I’m done I can announce in /map and throw down a portal to help a few others out.
Regardless of how polarized the community regarding the issue is, people still do appreciate the current T3 upgrade so I’m still hopeful that they will still reintroduce the set eventually. It’ll be a waste not to bring back such a good design (imho).
But it wasn’t a HT3 upgrade or it would have been marketed as such. It was a reskin with flames sold as a armor skin set on the gem store. It wasn’t labeled , “Human T3 Upgarde.”. In turn many HT3 owners asked to have it removed to maintain the integrity of their armor. IMO it wasn’t so much about that but that it was because it was HT3 that looked cooler. I would bet if Anet had said all HT3 owners would get the skin all this, “but it’s only for humans!” crying would have stopped.
You don’t get both. HT3 owners wanted it removed for the “integrity” of their armor. It will be gone and that will be the end if it. I’ve seen several posts across forums with, “Now can we have it?”. Sorry, no.
I have the current Flamekissed on my human as I type and I love it. I’m waiting to see what the revamp looks like and if it will indeed be, " something special" as was claimed. When the change occurs I’ll decide what I want and truly hope I like the new one better. However, you can’t say, “Get rid of it! But wait! It’s cool so give it to me later.”
Once it is gone if it comes back in some other fashion it will start a whole new mess and seriously anger those who bought it in the first place.
The game, and all of it’s contents (I’d like to believe) were designed to be fun, which by extension should have included WvW. The time I spent actually aiding our server was not, in the least fun (for me). You can be the elitist and say that people do WvW just to do it, and that’s fine. My whole point was not “Q.Q don’t wvw cause the rewards suck.” My point is, We were given a Meta-achievement to complete in WvW, which I am to believe was meant to a extension of fun, and a means to gain potentially good loot from this. Seven weeks. Seven kitten weeks, during which I obtained maybe 5g, and a handful of mat’s. During that Seven weeks, I rarely did more than WvW (which as I previously stated, was not in the least bit fun). I had hoped that me aiding my server, and jumping in to help where I could would have been rewarded with fun/loot. I can’t even begin to explain how, had I not spent the time in WvW to better my server, I could have made countless more gold, and had a metric-kitten-ton more fun.
Lessened learned. Don’t beat your head into your monitor doing something that isn’t fun for you and expect to be lavished in gifts. I’ve skipped a bunch of living story events that had rewards I would have liked but it just wasn’t worth it to me to do what wasn’t fun to get them. I refuse to make my game time unpleasant in hope that I’ll get some digital reward. I also hate WvW. The reward could have been guaranteed 2000 gold I still would have passed on the event. If I’m not having fun it isn’t worth my time.

YA I’m sure they’ll do good on the revamp, and the lot that lobbied against it originally will go buy the new revamped with those pathetic smiles on their faces. Pride where the sun don’t shine.
At this point I’m not sure what you are on about. I’ll chalk it up to my lack of sleep I suppose.
Well for people that WvW for you know, the reward of, wait for it… wait for it.. FUN, it was just an added bonus. Seriously, you subjected yourself to something you admit you despise doing. Why? The point of a game is to play for fun. I don’t know about you but there isn’t a reward in this game, precursor or whatever, that would entice me to spend hours doing something I don’t enjoy.

If you notice…a lot of people here simple hate the Flamkissed Armor. They don’t want it available whatsoever after this whole fiasco. These people didn’t buy the armor or anything. They just hate it, passionately. How lame a way to exist.
I bought and have it on my human toon. I like it and wish I could keep it. However, if it is being pulled to maintain the integrity of HT3. As that is the case, once revamped the original has no place back in the game.
I wish I could keep the current skin too as a human, but I’m sure they’d find a way to incorporate the upgraded T3 design ingame again eventually and that we’d be able to wear it again XD
Sorry but nope. People argued to have it pulled. It should be gone forever once the change is made. It wouldn’t be fair to take it away from those that bought it off the gem store only to give it to T3 owners later. Once the revamp is done the old Flamekissed should never come back.
People argued over it being accessible to other races… They can always implement a way to upgrade T3 to exotic and incorporate upgraded graphics which by then they could reuse the skin. Of course, other races should get equal treatment if they do so.
Nope. Once removed from the game it should stay that way. You can’t say take it from them but give it to me.

A lot of exaggeration going on in yet another thread about the champ trains in Queensdale. For at least the last month I have not seen an argument get nasty on Tarnished Coast over people hitting champions out of order. From reading thus thread people would think Queensdale is a non-stop argument. For the most part when a champion gets hit out of order the zerg just moves on because they are used to it by now. The only problem causing I have seen was when someone or a small group intentionally messes with the order and they are the ones taunting in chat. Even then most everyone just ignores them and goes to the next event and the antagonists get bored.
As for impressions on new players, I have seen many new players receive more help and attention because Queesndale is populated and people are there to answer their questions, help with skill points and so forth. So hey, let’s nerf the map and make it more vacant right? New players talking to themselves in /map gives a good impression too right? If you are so worried about new players go to starter zones and look for people to help and give them that good first impression.
Please stop with all these exagerations about how new players think the champ train is the game and get bored and quit. Stop making up storys about excessive map chat grieving because as I have seen the map chat does a great job policing itself. You may not like champ farming because you think there are better ways to play the game and that’s fine. Just stop worrying about how others play. You will enjoy the game much more that way.
Oh and if you are on the end/nerf champ side then that should revoke your license to complain ever should some aspect of the game you enjoy get the rewards nerfed. Asking for reward seyestems to get nerfed is a slippery slope. Think about it..

Once this new artwork is completed, we will then update the Flamekissed Armor Skin so that all existing sets that players have purchased get the new art.
Because taking the time to make a video of myself taking some dorky video game oath isn’t worth $50.00.
After seeing all the raging about this, I honestly hope they take the skin back from players who purchased it, and give them 800 gems only, nothing more.
Nice… In other words, you don’t like those that are unhappy with the change so you hope they get hosed. Real nice..
Thank you for your help Just Trogdor i succesfully moved into tarnished coast My character name is Polarfireblade if you want to play together
Glad to help and welcome to Tarnished Coast. I’m a super casual player so I’m not in game as much as most but feel free to add me to your friends list and if you see me online ask any questions you may have and I’ll do my best to help.
tl;dr: A random number generator is how computers handle “random” and “chance”. Anything random, including a “random item generator” (if that were a thing), has a random number generator determining which of the potential random outcomes actually happens.
Yes most people know this. It is that people often simplify it to randomly generated when referring to the final output (the item,coin,etc.). That was what was randomly generated as decided by the random number generator/loot table and so forth. It’s just a simplified way of referring to the process.
No. I have self control.
That’s funny because self control is one reason I can afford to toss money into a goofy game a few times a month.
