Judging by the proleague streams spamming tends to occur less and less at higher levels of play.

This game has an obnoxious habit of being enormously complex and extremely fast paced to the point that only the high level players seem to know wtf is going on.

yup if you talk to high level players they all agree in 4v4 and sometimes even 5v5 every player knows exactly what’s going on with each member and 80% of the skills used are noticed.

That argument is kind of a cop out. (is that the right phrase?) as you can say that about anything good/OP.

And you can turn that same argument around and say if the necro’s team is rotating/supporting (i.e. ~36sec CD Search and Rescue) his “weakness” will be mitigated.

And even still, 95% of games, up through legendary, are not all that coordinated the majority of the time. You can’t justify something because teamspeak exists.

Not at all. If a team focus you, you can just block/immu/stealth/shadowstep and reset yourself. With necro, you cant. You just rely on your teammates keeping you alive the whole time.

i love teleporting revenants to stupid places with portal my favorite is leave portal to mid run far when it happens ofc that there is revenant xDDD muhahaa let me just teleport revenant from far to mid to my friends and get freecap far xD

potentially wiping your team cos they just received a +1 hard dps and you’re now forced to “run” back after decapping (more time wasted).

better to just 1 v 1 the rev, win, decap and port back to mid to +1.

Main damage comes from shatters, and survivality from weapons. While scepter gives you more condi dmg, the survivality is crap when compared to sword, and so you will likely die a lot more. Also, sword 3 can be used as XYZ gap closer, which is amazing.

What are some suggestions for Legendary Titles?

Dunno If it’s possible, but it would be really cool at the end of s4, having an achievement + title like “Ascension Legend” unlocked only If you reached in every season the legendary division (so you already have all primordial , exalted etc. Titles).

The trait you are referring to is a trait that none of the condition necros run because there are better options in a condition build…

If you have something serious to add to this thread, please come back..

When running Spite, decimate defenses, when running Curses, minor master and grandmaster. Also, DP is quite common when running merc. You’re the ne not being serious here

Well it sounds like you have a problem with excessive visual effects. Adding the signet graphic on top of the animation might actually make things worse for you since it was already considered an easily telegraphed skill for a long time.

It was, but tbh clusterkitten is so huge right now that while before the cast was obvious, now you rly need to focus on what the mesm is doing in order to spot the moa.

Combo Combo Finisher: Whirl
Range: 600

Functionality is same except replaced chill with taunt. Reduced duration from 1.5 to 1. Chill has nothing to do with a sword Rev. Taunt makes more sense. Taunt also synchs with other unused Rev traits like Dismantle Fortifications and Improved Aggression so those can be more viable options.

And taunt would stack up to 3s if theres only one foe, right? Seems legit m8

Problem is, PvP wise staff already has great damage and survivality. Any buff to it would make the stronger ranger weapon even greater, so maybe straight buffs arent the best decision, but some lil reworks here and there.

Just cause everyone chooses Condi Mes or Condi Necros, it doesn’t mean there aren’t Engineers, Eles, Rangers, Revenants that fight as equals.

That’s just perceived balance, whereas before there literally was only Rev/Mes on the top tier.

Condi mes and necro counters everyone else on that list lol not as many revenants anymore probably because of the condi meta but engi and ele yes because they can sustain when they need to against the power builds that many still use and rangers have the search and rescue

You have completely dodged the question!
The question was direct and easy to understand, can you play a no bunker engi/ele/druid against mesmer/necro?…No you can’t
Can you play a non bunker ele/engi/druid vs power mesmer/thief?…No you can’t

Logic dictates that problems arise when a profession achieve godly amount of sustain without a sustain amulet and 0 investment in healing power and that’s the aspect of power/condi mesmers that have ridiculous amount of sustain with a power/condi amulet respect to an ele that would like to try the same route and can’t because ele must actually invest in sustain to have any at all

With you outsustaining other power specs, YOU forced others to search the same level of sustain going the bunker route it has never been the other way around!

Eles would love to have actual sustain if using a marauder amulet, a mercenary amulet but they can’t…as they would be trampled by everybody else as they have far more sustain despite having 0 investment in sustain stats like toughness and healing power

I’ve not dodged your question, but if you want a direct answer, yes, you can play marauder builds capable to beat necros/mesms 1v1 (which doesnt matter that much balance-wise). When teamfighting, independently of your build, the ele will just keep everyone 100% hp while revs pressure the necro. Mesm doesnt do that much when teamfighting except moa. So, you can play marauder and survive as easily as with pally against necros. The problem is that being able to hold/bunk is usally more valuable than doing damage.

And mesm condi has crappy sustain compared to ele, even with 0 healing power.

TBH skilled players are still hundred of times better than a balanced comp. The only time I feel like my team lost cause comp is when they have an ele and we dont. I’ve faced countless times comps that soft-countered my team and we’ve won simply cause we were better, while its really really uncommon that I lose simply because the enemy comp was better.

That’s only true in a scenario when matchmaking sucks and you don’t have even skill on both teams. Unfortunately, that is the state of season 2.

If you did have even skill, then comp is really important.

Well, in a match of even skill (so a theorical draw match) I agree, comp is really important. I dont see the problem there tho.

That doesn’t happen very often, but it is usually tied to the poor (read: packet loss) connection on the player side. Basically, if you went around and tried to cleave his real location you could’ve deal damage to him, but it would still be impossible (unless you teleport to his real location while stomping his “Afterimage”) to stomp him.

This is a bug that even a mesmer is jealous of.

If this is waht happened, you have to use a ranged skill and see where you’re casting it to locate the body

Its frustrating to duel a rev, but you can slowly waste his cds and finally rekt him with a few marks. Revs literally melt with any condi pressure, so your main goal isnt to save your strongest skills, but to use them to force his deffensive cds and then just staff#3/scepter AA until he’s dead.

Made this for a friend, he loves GS, wasn’t sure whether to take staff or axe/focus.

I don’t play necro, but I know he prefers to be tanky and hates condi play, so any insight would be great.

The build is actually quite good (as good as a GS power reaper build can be), but as someone said before I would swap one of the GS sigils for the quickness one. Chill on shouts is actually a good call cause with power builds you dont really stack that much chill and its really good for Chilling victory/Cold shoulder, but Strength rune would be better if you feel like doing more dmg. Imo I would leave Spiteful Spirit, even on a power build I think this trait gives you more than Close to Death due to the deffensive utility of perma retribution and cripple when being focused, and with power reaper unlike core necro you deal damage with high hitting skills. Problem is to land them, but if they hit you bascially kill the enemy no matter what.

EDIT: When facing condi teams I would swap either the heal or one of the shouts for Plague Signet tho.

All maps have some type of asymmetrical construction that favours some actions from one side and not from the other. Anyway, it gives the same advantage for both teams, as you will usually be on close/far equal times.

Need some advice for my condi build

Not gonna say anything special about the build, even if I would change a few things, its pretty decent. Just gonna say that I would change the wells, they arent that great on a condi build, and even less when not traited and easily dodged unless you use them on a place where the enemy is forced to be, which is really situational (PvP/roam).

You’re right when you think that necro has really slow casts, you need to learn to play around this. Talking about staff cast, you need to use the marks guessing where the enemy is going to be, or eventually using them on your location when facing melee enemies, but be aware of not placing them so just a dodge can evade them all. I think practicing is the best way to feel comfortable with cast times and succesful casts. I’m not sure about what do you mean with your last question, but I guess you can consider yourself an acknowledged necro/whatever after ~1k games played with it.

Rotation wise, I would save staff 4/5 most of the times, but I guess you can use it as an opener if you feel like you will not need them anytime soon.

EDIT: Stack sigils (sigil of corruption) are redundant, meaning that if you have it on a weapon the charges will affect the other weapon and so its unnecessary to use two, just make sure to kill (stomp, not just down) the foe with the weapon that has the sigil.

^This, the pros seem to think they can carry a team on there own. So I don’t see how the OP could lose games.

Pros can carry bad teammates as long as enemies are also bad. If they are matched with similar skilled people (legendary) they are not supposed to be able to carry every single match unless you manage to hire multiple Pro League players or players of the same skill level, and gl with that

I don’t think there is anything passive about the scrapper. Not by a long shot. It is a very active playstyle. I am constantly jumping around, using the tool belt skills, and using the utilities. I really don’t understand the OP’s point here.

Lack of comboing skills. With rifle you had a complex and variable way to cc chain an enemy, now you just 5+3. And this applied to everything else
