Yeah, I wonder if it will be something like,
“Must have xxxx achievement points, and weapon type master completed in order to obtain insert whatever zenith weapons.
(that would be a pain for shields, and other side weapons though)
2 weeks .
Pics with slightly different dye.
If they want to make it so daily/monthly achievements don’t count toward leader boards, but do count towards achievement rewards, I’d be fine with that.
Except the point of removing from achievement rewards would be to prevent the ‘Achievement Rewards’ system from devolving into the ‘Daily Achievement Reward’ system as dailies become a greater and greater portion of everyone’s count. It should reward what we have achieved, not how fastidious we were in the completion of our dailies.
And I still believe people should allowed to gain achievement points however they want, either way, people are now going to be doing things they normally wouldn’t for the sake of gaining achievement points. Personally, I’ve already started mainly using a longbow, even though I don’t like it, just so I can start getting my weapon master points up.
I don’t care if dailies already reward laurels if someone wishes to gain achievement points that way, and don’t want to go off doing jump puzzles, using weapons they normally don’t use, etc, then let them.
If they want to make it so daily/monthly achievements don’t count toward leader boards, but do count towards achievement rewards, I’d be fine with that.
If people really had a problem with that, I would think they would have started complaining back when leader boards were first released. (Well, I think some did, but it was very few people)
Also, if these points did count then one could conceivably unlock everything with nothing but the dailies and monthlies.
Am I the only person who genuinely doesn’t see a problem with this?
I believe the goal of the new rewards is to give people even more incentive to log back in every day.
While there is a limit on how many AP you can make through dailies and monthlies, you can still do the other achievements for a big fat bonus.
If this would have been implemented from the start, nobody would have a problem with that.
I don’t see anything wrong with it either, if someone wants to get achievement points from simply doing dailies, and playing as they normally do, they should be allowed to do so. They (and I) logged in everyday to finish their dailies and get achievement points, and I don’t think that should be changed just because now all of a sudden some people think they don’t “deserve” it just because they didn’t get their points from jumping puzzles and what not.
I don’t even think dailies are responsible for that many points, I have yet to miss a daily since laurels have been introduced, and I’m currently hovering at 3,800+ points.
Is it me, or have prices on a lot of dropped rares gone up since this thread was made? For a while most of them aside from GS were hanging around 20-23s, now they are all 27s+ at min, lol. Except the ones that may create not so popular precursors/leggys. (like one hand mace)
Nah.
Though, that’s probably because compared to past MMO’s I’ve played, obtaining a legendary in GW2 does involve some skill, and determination.
In past MMO’s I’ve played, in order to get “the big shiny”, you either had to be really lucky, have lots of connections, have tons of in game currency, or kill a single type of mob for months before getting that one super rare weapon drop.
Well, actually, the legendary weapons in GW2 has combined all of those and then some.
I disagree, dailys are where most of my points come from since I mainly play in open world, and I only have 3800.
I think they’re fine.
This is a working model in other non sub games that I know of.
(Constantly releasing temporary events for people to participate in)
And Gw2 may need it even more since they don’t have hardcore level grinding.
Do you have any pictures in your Gw2 screen shot folder you may have taken on the day you created your legendary?
You can view the properties of the picture, and check to see what date it was created.
Get better looking stuff, ascended, make some gold, explorer, WvW, etc.
I have more, but these are the only screens I have for now.

Jalapeno .
Well, I wont say it’s 100% perfect.
If they are able to find a way for evade to cancel out the leap of 1h sword, that would be great, and there is like a half second or so period where you can not dodge after the Ponce skill has been used, and your attack has been completed, unless that is just some strange lag on my end, try it and see. (If I try to dodge right after using pounce, my character will just stand there)
I’d be wondering why I gambled all that gold away when 500g is enough or almost enough to get a precursor. (depending on which one)
looks at crystalline dust ingredient
Not sure if I want to eat it, that stuff is most commonly drop by rotting zombies, and ghost you know, who knows what it will do to you.
When people ask for more form fitting medium armors, I don’t think all of them are asking for skimpy, revealing armors, a lot of peeps just don’t like the bug bulky coat/top designs a lot of medium armors have.
Personally, I wish there were more torso pieces that ended at the belt line.
Take the basic white leather set for example.
If the torso didn’t have that huge chunk of material going past the waist, and instead the torso armor ended at the belt line, it would look like a pretty nice set of armor imo.
Yeh, I know about those, not exactly what I was suggesting though.
Think of it as the glass blower/maker of those bottles decided to make/blow them into the shape of a sword/bow/hammer/ etc, and put that same liquid inside of them.
Yeh, that’s why I said it might be a crazy suggestion, but I think it would look cool.
I look at the armor and weapons of others all the time.
There are these bottles at the bar in Salma district, and I’ve always thought they were pretty cool.
So, I was thinking, what if a set of weapons were designed using the same concept as these bottles?
Example: A sword would be in the same shape of a typical sword, but it would have a glassy clear appearance just like these bottles, and on the inside it would have some vibrant colorful liquid, along with a gold eagle emblem stamped somewhere on the weapon.
Yeah, I have crazy suggestions. -_-
This is the most insulting thread in the entire forums.
Here is what you sound like
“So what if if they did massive nerfs to the weakest class in the game and killed all of our builds while only adding tidbits here and there, stop being cry babies and be pro like me and only play PvP/WvWvW with this cookie cutter build that is even more cookie cutter because you no longer have a pet choice’.
Nah, he is saying that in anet’s effort to nerf BM builds, they ended up hurting non BM builds more than they did BM due to the fact that non BM builds generally have very little or no points in Beastmastery, meaning that some of the pets nerfs or more apparent in pets when you have no points in BM.
As far as RNG goes, I prefer the dragon coffer method over any other RNG method. (you can farm or purchase dragon coffers from the tp without worrying about keys, or gems)
But I think it would be great if aether weapons became permanent weapons bought from a vendor with karma. :x (well, one could dream)
I notice it. I see the “out of range” more frequently, and I can no longer maneuver the way I use to during certain activities.
Has anyone played around to see if LB is better for open world PvE than SB now? (as in, just roaming killing mobs, farming, doing events, world bosses, etc.) Or more bluntly, is it faster at killing individual mobs?
If you can stay at max range, yes otherwise no.
Thanks, sb it is. (except for mostly stationary bosses/mobs)
Has anyone played around to see if LB is better for open world PvE than SB now? (as in, just roaming killing mobs, farming, doing events, world bosses, etc.) Or more bluntly, is it faster at killing individual mobs?
- Ranger Pet nerf across the board is what got my attention the most. If it was spvp that brought the nerf on, why did the have to hit PvE and WvW as well?
- Ranger shortbow nerf is pretty annoying, and wasn’t needed imo. It makes me feel as if the purpose of the nerf was to force us to use the meh LB in certain situations, rather than continuing to make adjustments to the LB and make us want to use it, rather than force us.
Rangers are being hysterical and reactionary. The changes are in the right direction. Longbow buffs with more clearly defined roles for each bow type. Shortbow will still be very playable. Pet nerfs aren’t a big deal because pets have always represented too much of a ranger’s power.
How?
Rangers didn’t receive any damage increases(aside from the useless sb increase) to make up the “represented power” lost by the pets, except for some might buffs, which are for pets.
And I personally dislike the SB nerf, it’s like they nerfed a weapon that was just fine, in order to make a mediocre weapon(LB) more appealing.
Personally, I would have rather had the damage of SB 2-5 reduced by 10%, and have SB range remain at 1200. <—- That’s how little I think of the 14% dmg increase.
SB range reduction is annoying.
“so anyone can just grind their way or spend cash”
I think that’s sort of the purpose. These temporary events keep people in game by constantly giving them something to do. If everyone didn’t have a chance to work toward these items, and it was gated to only people who could accomplish a certain difficult task, not as many people would be engaged in the activities of the living story, and may not be as motivated to log in and play.
However, there is something for people who like challenge, the monocle will only be available to the people who complete the new living story dungeon, among other things. (well, kinda, they have a random chance of getting it)
I got mine on my about my 400th coffer , i farm mine, so no gold or money spent
My friend got his on his 10th crate, (kick him in the shins)
I have farmed another 500 since and not got a kitten thing, on the other hand i now have 4000 taffy and wonder what i should do with that?
I’m going to load up on food.
This has been my experience so far. (obviously not exact, as noted)
1st ticket: 1139?(difference no more than 100) coffers
2nd ticket 817th coffer
3rd ticket @ coffer #381 , 625 coffers opened
4th and 5th ticked 530 coffers opened (received during opening of latter 269)
Total coffers opened 3111-3222 Tickets:5
Well, there is still a couple weeks left in the event, and you can place buy orders on regular coffers for 1s 80copper each atm, which is much cheaper than they were initially.
So all is not lost yet for those who haven’t gotten one yet.
no, unless you can make it with crafting.
ascended accessories killed the jewel-crafting trade.
ascended armor will kill armor smith, leather working and tailor trades.
they really should update the crafting skills so that ascended gear can be crafted!
The problem with ascended gear being craftable is that the game would take a significant step towards pay2win. If people with lots of disposable income could buy gems, covert to gold, get crafting mats off the TP and kit themselves out in full ascended gear, I can see a pretty big outcry as a result.
As long as the ascended items remain reasonably attainable throughout other areas of the game, I don’t think it would be pay2win at all. It would mainly give people why enjoy collecting materials and crafting and etertaining way of obtaining ascended gear (play the way you want).
Imo, pay2win is more in the area of, “obtaining these items would be extremely difficult, or impossible to obtain without using real cash.”
Took many people 2k+ to get a ticket, though a lot of people have gotten them within the 1k range. Keep trying, don’t give up yet, there is plenty of time left.
If I get more magic find, yes.
Thank you for making jade tickets available outside the gem store.
I think tickets are getting easier to get now that a large number of people have gotten the ticket(s) they wanted. The prices of boxes on tp are starting to drop below 2s 20c, and I think the event still has a couple weeks to go.
In past MMOs I’ve played with events similar to this, I was always happy when they occurred, I just sold all the event items to higher level players, and got some nice start up money.

I hope these skins are perma additions.
I was saying I would make a thief just so I could use the pistols, if they’re not to difficult to obtain.
The same discussions would go on in the suggestion forum, and if they put a stop to that, players would probably go to some other forum on another site, and talk about how anet doesn’t listen to GW2 players.
Its become harder to gather some t6 mats, which is unfortunate for some people who were gathering them to craft a certain item.
On the other hand, I will simply continue to farm as usual, and wait for prices to raise again. (they’ve already gone up kitten on some items)
(edited by Lambent.6375)
I use the Super Long Bow. That skin is supposed to make a return…later…if it is too expensive now, or even still available on the TP. Not sure what your tastes are, though.
As of now, the super long bow skin is only 4 gold and some silver on the TP.
I say “only” because the box has been done for a while , and yet it’s still low, real nice price for a nice skin I’d say.
It might be just yesturday night that this is more apparent. Sicne you mentioned the bandits I’ll assume you are in Queensdale and yesturdays daily are GRoup event, events, and DAILY kills.
Some maybe specific to kryta, but Queensdale can cover all of these really fast so people come here often to finish their dailies and kill on sight if there is daily kills.Events are finished fast, BUT on the map people will shout out events and people will go there. So you can find out where to go for event OR where to go to avoid. Usually intervals between the 2 fast sapwning group events, the Oak heart and Troll.
Just keep in mind if someone yells troll, there will be more people in that vicinity that might do bandit as well. Hopefully this way you can avoid them. If anything you can try other starters since queensdale is the MOSt popular starter for people to roam anways.
- also its the easiest placce for high lvl to farm holo wing as a rare drop fromm mobs. high lvls can kill starter map mobs easily and with queensdales abundance of mobss and events it is an efficient grind spot*
Hope this helps ~
Yeh, I think yesterdays daily had krytan killer in it, along with group events, plus it was a Sunday. I personally haven’t noticed the starter areas being swarmed during the short times I spend in them, maybe I’ll go tonight to see if there are as many people there as there was last night. Though, I have seen people just standing there camping holos.
