You are somewhat wrong. To make 1 deldrimor ingot you will need 10 ectos, 20 iron and 1 mithrilium (which is your time gated mat).
To make a deldrimor plated dowel it will require 50 ectos. Which is required for every ascended inscription.
did they change it?
it doesn’t show any ectos at all on the craft window.

How would that be any fun (umn grind)? To do the activity in the game you enjoy and be rewarded for it appropriately.
You know, to play the way you want to play and be rewarded for it? I heard those words before (perhaps in the Manifesto). Maybe Anet should go back and watch it.
That’s what they’re doing, they specifically placed the items needed to make t7 mats in chest of activities people were already doing throughout the game so they wouldn’t have to go out of their way to get them.
Magic find doesn’t affect chest.
A breakdown of mats needed to craft an ascended for any interested.

This is a joke post, right?
The requirements are dangerously close to Legendaries which are supposed to be rare in acquisition. So is an Ascended weapon supposed to be rare? Something only the most “dedicated” players can acquire? Exotics do not have these type of requirements. Also, why can we not obtain any Ascended item using Karma? Why even make that an option at launch for all other gear tiers if you were never going to do it for Ascended? you know the real max stat gear you intended but could not get into the release window. Also, when will you be increasing the mob difficulty to correspond with the increase stats? I mean unless the original mobs took into account the Ascended power level, then open world content will become even easier. Will it not?
Nah, not a joke post, the only thing I’m worried about is how often chest will give these t7 mats, and how many, and how often an exotic will produce dark matter.
10 Dark matter
500 Pile of Bloodstone Dust
500 Empyreal Shard
500 Dragonite Ore
Maybe I’m missing some things, but the rest of the stuff seems to just require you to make daily trips to low to high level zones, and gather all the metal and wood you see, or just gather them as you’re passing, and doing something else, or if you have the gold, buy them on the tp.

Thanks, I came here looking exactly for this.
Depending on how often exotics will give Dark Matter, this seems to be far more time consuming, than actually expensive.
They’re a solid class in open world PvE, but in a lot of content that is designed to be difficult, ranger pets tend to suffer, and ranger damage suffers as a result.
It would be great if they added a separate personal storage for soulbound items.
I don’t think it will be a big issue, unless you run solo in WvW, or are a small man skirmisher, and they don’t really design content around that.
Plus, a lot of things you’ll need to make the ascended weapon will be attainable by doing normal WvW
Compared to some of the gear tier jumps I’ve seen in daoc, which is known for its RvR, this makes me shrug my shoulders.
Heh…not to pick on you per se but how’s DAoC doing with its sub numbers these days? Or how is Warhammer Online (another game with crappy vertical gear grind) doing?
Every time you add a gear tier in a PvP game you make it more difficult for people to get back into the game. This won’t kill off WvW today, but it will get it within a year or so IF they keep going in this direction. They say they won’t, but then again they said they would just have horizontal progression as well so….
Also, for the PvE-ers….they will certainly be adding new content that is aimed for people with Ascended gear in the future b/c people will complain even more about how easy it is to complete the stuff. So gear gating (enforced by programming or by players) will take effect. Always has, always will in these games.
I didn’t mention daoc to say that what happened in that game was fine, I mentioned it to say I’m not bothered by ascended gear, because it’s not near as bad as previous games I’ve played, and I don’t see ascended having a major effect in WvW unless you’re a solo player.
Ascended gear: a slight stat boost, and can be obtained or worked toward through various activities in game. People my obtain the new ascended weapons at different paces, but I think the weapons seem to be pretty accessible to most of the player base.I don’t think it will make a game changing difference in 15 vs 15~ combat scenarios. (note: I don’t even have an ascended back piece, and will probably never have one, I still use a rare, lol)
VS
Pre multi nerf ToA in daoc, which introduced artifacts, ML, and ToA stats, most of which can only be obtained if you purchased the expansion. A lot of these artifacts were pretty much I Win buttons, and while some of them could be obtained solo, or with a small group with lots of luck, camping, and grinding, others required you to have;
1. connections, enough to put in 1-2 hours of their time for an item solely for you
2. lots of in game coin (those scrolls were expensive) This will probably require you to do more farming than ascended weapons would alone, depending on your resources.
3. tons of grinding to level the artifact
etc
good lord, that twitch chat is terrible, can’t even read anything.

It’s cool, SAB weapons are items created using Asuran technology.
Will we have an option to automatically remove these runes from our equipment without destroying the equipment itself?
8 events out of how many? On an unrelated note, I don’t know why people in map chat start to blame farmers in map chat whenever we seem to be “behind schedule”. Map chat could be compley peaceful and all of a sudden some will come out of nowhere saying things like, “stop zerging, we are going to fail because of farmers, etc etc.” Then we go on to finish the event with 5 min to spare.
Anet has tools to measure the actual amount of gold being put into the game, if it were a problem, I’m sure they’ll handle it. But until then, a lot of things on the to are cheaper than they were before these new additions. (even if it’s because an increase in supply)
The increase in gem prices just acts as a gold sink, while people who purchase gems now get more gold if they decide to convert.
There is also new smaller gold sinks in the form of sovereign skins.
Farmers and Completers aren’t necessarily 100% exclusive groups. If that were the case the events would probably have a much higher failure rate.
it’s a bit much to say, “farmers did nothing”, because that would be assuming they don’t help with minions or any of the other non champ events at all, and that they don’t help kill Scarlet when she pops.
The one point in the invasion where farmers actually may cause harm is when aetherblades spawns are still up, when when their event bar has been completed. If they despawned a bit faster, I don’t think any of this would be an issue.
Nah.
You will be assimilated.
I don’t see the problem.
Most mmorpg expansions include the following.
- new zones including new bosses, monster types, quest, dungeons, items, etc.
- new races
- new classes
- sometimes a graphics or UI update
- etc
^ All of this can be delivered in story format through the living story, and regular patches in small o r large doses.
I enjoy most farms.
Activity wise, I prefer Invasion, but I am not able to get the champ boxes I want from them, and there is a timer in between invasions that will increase after the event is over, soo.
- Invasion
- FGS
-gauntlet bottom floor
-
Sidenote: Technically, I don’t view invasions as farming even though it’s an activity I do partly to get loot, for the same reason I wouldn’t view doing a dungeon over and over for a specific weapon set/armor set as farming. (but I did view cof 1 as farming) Well, it’s all semantics I guess. /shrug.
I do it for both the activity and loot. If the activity was lost, and loot magically appeared in my inven, I wouldn’t enjoy it as much, vice versa as well. If the activity remained, and there was no loot, I would no longer enjoy it.
We will basically be getting an expansion that we don’t have to pay direct money for, it’s cool.
I still think people were exaggerating about that, “everyone goes to pirates and makes the invasion fail.”
I have only been in one invasion that has failed, and it wasn’t because of pirates. There is also no way for me to know what the majority of people are doing on the map, as I can’t see how many people are concentrated in one area, and I’m too busy trying to complete the events.
The majority of people I’m with in the area leave after pirates are completed, (both before and after the nerf)
I enjoy most farms.

B and C
I will sell the skin if it’s not one of he ones I’m after. (those are usually really cheap though, like less than one gold, so it’s not like I make much from them)
And I may use the gold I earn to buy the skins that I’m after if I don’t get them to drop.
Like I said in an earlier post, I don’t see a problem, the invasion is usually stopped, and scarlet defeated, whether I’m in the main server, or overflow. Last night I was even in an overflow where we completed the thing with 9-10min to spare. (and this was after the patch that made scarlet was made more sturdy)
They could just make it so aetherblades/molten despawn once their bar is completed.
I don’t really see an issue as I’m doing the invasions. Every now and then there have been a small group of people that will specifically seek out champs to ports to, but most seem to realize it’s not worth it and focus on completing the event. But so far out of all the invasions I’ve done, there has only been one that has failed, and that was in FG, which probably failed because all the portal events kept bugging out.
Yeah, I used it and I just got thrown to the ground, and didn’t go anywhere.
Edit: Mine was used in LA, so I guess if you use it in a city it doesn’t port?
Not all of these price increases are a direct result of inflation.
The increases in rare prices may also be a result of fewer people running boss events that gave a guaranteed rare.
On the other hand, you can now buy a lot of t5 mats for cheaper than you could before, and just craft rares.
I solo’d the Champion of the Gladiators in the Fields of Gold and got nothing. Often the legendaries in the Queen’s event don’t drop and sometimes the tower and keep lords don’t drop and I know I have made enough damage to qualify.
Yeah, I did this champ with a small group of people the first day of the patch, and none of us got anything. I sent in a bug report, and moved on.
Would setting animation to low when you’re using it work?
I know that tones down the effects of other weapons when I do it.
You guys know how there are some DE’s that allow access to special items upon completion?
Like http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Healing_Seed_Pod
and http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Ogre_pet_whistle
I actually think it would be pretty cool if they expand on that. Not saying they all have to be combat related, some could be silly/cool looking animation items.
“Using this item will summon a ghostly lantern that will follow you for 30min”
Isn’t the only thing you got that factors in inflation is the 14 gold coins you got in pure coin?
The rest of that coin you got came from other players, and items are starting to drop in price on the tp due to the increase in supply.
Here’s the problem with farming like this and being public trolls and nuisances about it: ANet will just do what they did with Jormag. They will make it so these champs drop NO loot, and instead of doing things as intended and winning overall, players will get nothing rewarding at all for running this event.
This behavior is self defeating and shows little-to-no foresight on the part of the players. Everyone loses eventually, including the trolls/farmers.
Will people get banned? Probably not. This does fall clearly outside of the blanket “unintended behavior” rules, but they’ll probably just patch it and move on. On a personal note I wish they DID ban people for it because the verbal abuse and bad behavior coming out of these people deserves nothing less. Unfortunately ANet doesn’t take “verbal abuse” claims seriously with the reporting system.
Yes they do, people get banned for verbal abuse all the time. (by looking at the people coming on the boards complaining about being banned for language)
And I’m not 100% certain, but I pretty sure this guy from my server ate a suspension during FG champ runs, he was dropping f bombs at people everywhere in map chat, wouldn’t be surprised if he did, or maybe he is now in CS farming.
What were you doing in game when you started dropping f bombs?
I don’t have many of them, so I just keep it on Combat Healer.
Absolutely hate farming and the philosophy behind it. I don’t think a lot of players like farming they just like loot. To be honest a lot of MMO Players, particularly Progression Type players often have Self Esteem Issues and other Psychological Problems. Progression and obtaining rare gear or equipment gives them something to be proud of and allows them for once in their lives to be successful at something and rise above their peers. No longer are they that weird rejected kid with poor social skills, they are now powerful and 1337 and they believe that other players look at them enviously. Once this wears off they move to another game and rinse and repeat. It’s a sad reality really.
progression type players have self-esteem and psychological problems? the kitten?
Maybe they like dedicating time and effort into a game and be rewarded with trinkets and trophies that they and others can appreciate? Isn’t that the whole point of an MMO?
It’s a sad situation that you actually believe your notion.
[bold]What’s more sad actually is that my notion is 100% true.[/bold] And no the whole point of an MMO is to generate revenue. You know, real world stuff?
All that aside it seems the reason you play an MMO is to be rewarded with trinkets and trophies to be proud of and show off in-game believing that other players will appreciate them? Go ahead and read my paragraphs again and take a look in the mirror. Don’t forget to tally up the number of hours and money spent playing this MMO and any other MMO in your past. Speaking of those past MMOs how are the virtual goodies you earned in those games working out for you now? All of it is just a temporary patch to fill the space from whatever is truly missing from your life. It’s a decent patch but it won’t fill the void.
No it’s not.
More specifically, the reason I would no longer play is because one of my main in game activities is collecting weapons. If I suddenly obtained it all, I wound no longer play because I would have everything.
My account name actually comes from my passion of weapons with particle effects in daoc.
Gw2 has created an environment where I can freely come on and play, and pretty much jump in anything while still working toward my goals, without have to go on 6-8 hour long raids where a weapon I’m looking for might not drop at all, and if it does, I’d have to out roll 70+ other people to get it.
Just recently I have obtained all the materials(well, mb I need a little more ori) needed to make a Vision of the Mist, and I did that my simply going to world events with guaranteed chest, and by consistently venturing through Orr looking for ori nodes.
That’s why I play GW2, and not those other mmo’s.
About this..
I haven’t been on a lot n the past couple days, so I don’t know the current state of the zerg trains, and I have yet to participate in a CS train.
Personally, I’ve always been against abusing people who legitimately want to complete events that peeps are holding up for the sake of farming, if people get too abusive, I’d just log off, because it would leave a bad taste in my mouth.
On the other hand, there are many types of people in zergs, some are the abusive kind, some are just trying to relax, and hopefully get lucky and find a cool looking skin. In FG, none of the champs in the rotation are reliant on holding up events, so I have no experience with that, but occasionally there would be people who would specifically target the champs in the rotation, and kill them out of order on purpose, when normally they would have no interest in said champion. (it was obvious what they were doing, because they would eventually start making snarky remarks in map chat)
Maybe they are just doing it for the lulz, or because some people in the zerg had hurled abuse at them, but to me, and some others in the zerg, they appear to be just as kittenish as those people who fly into a rage all because a passerby killed a champ.
I was kind of thinking the earrings we already have will receive their own skins according to their image.
I wouldn’t be playing, I’d probably finish the personal story, and then never log in again.
Which is how I played the first two Gw1 releases.
at some point?
Looking at the magitech armor helmet makes me think it’s possible.
So….. we complained that champs weren’t rewarding enough. So they changed them to have better loot….
Now….people are only farming the champs…..and they should be nerfed to stop it?
Kittened if they do, kittened if they don’t…..
Yes. Champions should be more rewarding!
I do NOT want ArenaNet to “nerf Champions”.They should just nerf the Choo Choo ChampTrains.
And how precisely do you achieve goal b, without enacting action a?
1. Make non event champions scale up accordingly when mass zergs attack them.
2. nerf the amount of silver given per a box. (something like 3-5s, maybe /shrug)
If #1 is possible to do, then zergs will no longer blast though champions within seconds, and it will slow down the trains. Combined with #2, it will reduce the amount of pure gold one can make from the champ zerg, but it wont hinder those who just want to go around and kill champs.
At least I think those options are better than forcing players to do other things, by increasing the spawn on champions, or putting a DR on box drops.
Some of these people are just some of the cof p1 farmers who were kittens, but they have now moved on to open world champs.
Don’t worry about it, anet can tell whether a person is botting or not, and if they keep making false reports, they will be punished.
I’m saying this same thing in most champ threads, but, T_T
I hope anet just adds scaling to non event champs mobs as needed, and reduce silver reward from bags. It would stop zergs from blasting through champs, which would slow the zerg down, and combined with the reduced coin reward, they would be pumping less gold into the economy.
No need to add messy DR, or once a day to this, if people enjoy killing champs for bags hoping to get a new weapon skin , let them.
Welp, if/when they nerf them I hope they just reduce the amount of silver you get from a box, and make it so non event champs scale up in difficulty when large zergs are attacking them.
Rather than putting all champs on large spawn timers.
Please please, all you sheeple farm the heck out of them so the weapon prices drop and I can get mine cheap and without hours of effort. Woot.
haha, if I do get one of the ones I’m looking for, I don’t plan on selling it, but I do hope the Lord Taeres’s Shadow drops in price.
quaggan is in the same area as broodmother, which people can do if it’s up.
If you game on a laptop, go to the basement. (if you have one, and if you’re able to get good reception down there)
Is it possible to allow us to buy individual pieces of gem store armor at a higher overall cost?
Example: If I just wanted the helmet part of the magitech armor, I could purchase it for 200 gems, instead of buying the whole set for 800.
Give the champ farmers a week and they’ll move on. In about a week, I foresee most of the new skins being worth under 5 gold on the TP, as many are already down to a gold or two and change.
Most are already under 5 gold.
That said, I don’t understand either why people farm Queensdale when there is a much more time-efficient and rewarding “Champion loop” in Frostgorge Sound (Drakkar Spurs).
The two most popular weapons probably have a little before they reach the 5 gold mark, I don’t think some of them will ever reach that mark
If they nerf anything I hope they just adjust the champion scaling for events(even the ones in FG drop like flies), and non event mobs, and they may reduce the max silver reward to 3-4s.
