In theory it was a way to give guilds some more perks and things to enjoy. In actuality it is a ruinous pile of grinding and walling off benefits guilds previously had access to behind these things, meaning that now smaller guilds simply have almost no chance of getting anything worthwhile.
We must steal that turret and learn its secrets.
With shield, you don’t have to take the Scrapper traitline to use it. Also, the pistol gives ranged ability, though not much, as the above poster said.
The Scrapper traitline is quite good, but two of it’s minor traits feel designed for PvP mainly, and don’t really do anything for you unless you’re in a group. Having alternative minor traits to pick too would be nice.
Also, the Magnetic Shield can be used for knockback, something the hammer’s reflect cannot do. That being said…the hammer’s block and reflect skills overall are superior, at the cost of having one traitline locked for it and less ranged ability.

A Scribe's Lament aka The Optimist Love Story

Thank you for that tale, and that warning.
Someone from ArenaNet ought to read this story, but of course they won’t.

Having seen an upcoming MMO doing this, I think it would be a nice addition to SPvP.
1 v 1. An arena, probably like those guild hall arenas, the two fight until one is down.
It’d be nice for those that prefer dueling to have a way to further their rank/reward track progress, as well as be something different from conquest.
Thoughts on this?
Fun, in WvW? Nonexistent.
No. Thieves deserve no buffs.
Well, some of us have to move around a lot, or prefer the option. A “tower” is probably a pain to move around.
Was it prebuilt or custom built?
Replying to thread title : Give me ascended Jeweler and Chef first.
Otherwise, not even considering Ascended Scribing.
Solo mode for dungeons? Yes please. Even tone down the elites to veterans at least. No one likes elite enemies.
Anything past Windows 7 seems to be garbage from what I’ve seen.
So this “BDO” has a great character creation eh? So did Aion….and I saw how that turned out. It was garbage.
I’ve seen this thread before for ESO, Archeage, Wildstar, and now this. And what became of them? They either messed up early on and had to make massive changes to make themselves playable, or started off good and then devolved into crap.
I’m guessing the next one will be Blade and Soul, eh?…hahahaha.
I agree with this. I need to give away more presents and those orphans are annoying to find sometimes. At least the beggars have enough sense to not be hiding when they want something.
I’m going to guess that no laptop you can get at a store will be sufficient eh?
Responding to the opening post:
On the rare possibility that this isn’t just a troll thread…..No. Not a chance.
While making the game free-to-play wasn’t the best idea (mainly due to the limitations they’d have to put on new accounts), a premium subscription, let alone one on the level you’re suggesting, is a stupid idea that would only regress the game and ensure its downfall.
And…one of the main points of this game is that there are no subscriptions, required or otherwise. You’re suggesting that they betray one of the things that made their game as good as it is now.
So…..no. No. No. No. No. No. No. No.
Hmm…..no.
Considering that most will taxi to maps specifically for the meta event, I don’t see how the hero points distract from that, especially seeing as they are only repeatable once a day.
No. No. No. No. No. Hmmm…..no.
You have an extremely low resolution and ultra low detail it hurts my eyes.
Well, that wasn’t my intent.
Not all of us can afford super gaming computers that run at high settings with over 60 FPS.
“No, let me out of here!”
“Never!”
“You NEED a DIET!”
“Silence! I am just big branched!”
I’ve noticed that the snowflake materials can now be combined without needing to use Dust and Crystals like the new Evergreen/Mordrem materials. Once again, I’m going to point out a good change. Hopefully they do this for the other types of materials that can make Lodestones at the end.
Surprising. I figured out of all the new maps, that one would be the one that stayed somewhat populated.
Kralkatorrik (and possibly minions/champions as well) would impede his progress via the Crystal Desert, and even with Zhaitan dead now, it doesn’t mean the Risen over there are gone. The Deep Sea Dragon may or may not also interfere with aquatic travel, like it’s supposedly doing for Cantha.
And, to me at least, he doesn’t seem interested in anything beyond Elona. He did conquer it way before the Elder Dragons started to rise, right? If he really wanted to go over to Tyria, he’d have done it by now, or perhaps realizes that trying to take Tyria as well is too much to handle.

Unfortunately, PvP reward tracks, which were already arguably more efficient for getting tokens, are now the only good way to get them now unless they fix the dungeons to give more or be easier to clear.
I’ve noticed that keys seem to have stopped coming from map completion for me… Granted, I haven’t done it as much nowadays, but…
Read the thread title you bookah!
It’s a small thing, but I appreciate it. Now building up Exotic Essences of Luck is no longer something to dread.
…well, repair’s done, but the return to sender function is still grayed out. I haven’t tested it with a friend yet, but this makes me think it isn’t fixed.
(15 minutes after this post….no, still not working. -.-)
(edited by Nilkemia.8507)
Thank you, that seems to work.
Apparently I’m out of good luck, the repair instructions are either invalid or my computer is being stupid. It won’t allow me to change the shortcut properties to the name they listed, stating it to be invalid….any other ideas?
I cannot change the shortcut to Repair in the Properties menu. I typed the “-repair” in as it was shown in the instructions and then tried including it between the parentheses. Each time my computer just says it isn’t valid and will not allow me to change it.
I’m not sure once you’ve reported a mail you can still return it to the sender. That may be why the option is greyed out.
Well, the mail is gone, but now the option is just greyed out for all other mails I receive. Something’s broken. And, I was not warned that it would stop the return to sender function from working, which means that shouldn’t have happened, unless they changed that without changing the notification, or it’s a bug. Of course, that assumes that this was the cause, which I’m still uncertain of, but I can’t think of anything else.
I couldn’t delete it without taking the item within (a packet of salt from a scumbag thief). I’ve already done that, but the return to sender function is now just grayed out and I have no idea how to fix it, whether this is intentional or another bug they’ve somehow let slip through.
Why couldn’t we have gotten the useless thief killed instead of him? Sigh.
No, not really.
It may have had to do with a mail I sent back, and then reported when it was sent to me again. But now, the option is either grayed out or doesn’t work, claiming “mail is not available at this time”, even when that’s clearly not the case.
PvP is only good for reward tracks and dailies.
Agreed. Plus one.
How can they spoil something that isn’t out yet?
This thread’s opening post is nice. While I don’t even want to go for that skin at all, I can certainly understand the frustrations of those that do.
It’s not that people don’t want to give effort, it’s that the means of getting it are not friendly to those with little time or those who cannot deal with gimmicky jump puzzles, and that it probably isn’t fun for most involved.
I don’t mind giving effort for something I want in-game, as long as it’s reasonable. Unfortunately, it seems that more and more content so far is starting to demand unreasonable amounts of effort for some of the rewards.
And, spare me that exclusivity/prestige crap. Any argument in favor of that basically says “forget you, got mine, I got it, now I don’t want you to have a chance at it”.
It can salvage the sigils(and usually does), but it won’t always get all of them. Again, better to use only on weapons you know you won’t use.
A bit hard? Failing over and over after a hour or so of preparation each time because of a slip up or bug was not “a bit hard”. It was ridiculous.
And, unless they removed all the mechanics involved in that meta aside from the gerent itself, saying it’s now “press 1 to win” is just wrong, period.
It either needs to inflict extra conditions on the opponent or just reduce the recharge of corruption skills. In it’s current state (and the state of corruption skills in general), there’s no way to use it better than the other two options we get for that slot. It actually gets us killed faster. What’s even the point?
And for those that like challenges that require groups larger than 10 players?
Triple Trouble Wurm is in Bloodtide Coast waiting for them. Or WvW…overcoming the sheer horridness of that mode is a challenge in and of itself, haha.
Oh, it’s weaker now? Okay. Still don’t really care.
It’s been a while since I’ve played the Dragon Stand or Auric Basin meta, but I’m sure you have to do a lot more than press 1 to win.
Maybe it’s the low graphics settings for me, but they seem kinda blurry in some parts. And, well…they do kinda look like ornaments. Not as bad as the Ascended skins, but it’s there.
I support this thread idea.
Ideally, it’d also be cool if changing to Death Shroud still allowed the use of utilities, and maybe even powered them up when used, with costing Life Force as well. But even just being able to see the recharges would be great.
Foot in the Grave is already obscenely powerful, giving us an excellent stunbreak up to once every 7 seconds without having to spend a Utility skill on it. While I would like better access to Stability outside of Reaper, I don’t see buffing Foot in the Grave as a good way to do that.
No, no it isn’t. It’s a joke compared to the other two Grandmaster traits we’ve access to in that line. Also, it’s only once every seven seconds if you traited for the reduced recharge first, which isn’t worth taking over the one for staff marks, unless you don’t use staff…
And, if you think buffing it isn’t a good way, then do you have a better suggestion then?
For more stability, especially in Spvp where they love to just CC the crap out of you when you go into shroud mode. Infusing Terror just doesn’t quite cut it on it’s own, plus there’s the AoE fear that it’s (barely) used for.
Suggestion : Have it pulse stability every few seconds in shroud mode as well in addition to the initial stun break.
