Let’s see what it’s like in guild wars. You’re meleeing Lupi and mesmer doesn’t put up feedback. GG.
Or you could learn to dodge.
You run in after the bomb explodes in CoF p1 and mesmer doesn’t focus pull the two mobs so you can’t cleave. One of them starts running around, you kill one and then the group wipes because they couldn’t kill the second mob and turret fast enough.
If your group wipes on a pair of silver mobs and two turrets, you have a bad group. The best mesmer in the world couldn’t save them.
You jump down the platforms to the evolved destroyer in COE, a dragon’s tooth AOE appears and guardian doesn’t drop aegis in time. Massive damage, probably pushed in to the lava, GG.
Again, you could always dodge.
Pre-fight, elementalist doesn’t put up fire field. No might.
Elementalist puts up fire field but no blasts, no might. Stroll in to the battle, do pitiful DPS, get wiped.
Slightly less DPS does not equal a wipe. I’ve never had to stack might before a fight to prevent a wipe of any kind.
Nothing you have stated is as crucial as tanking and healing in other MMO titles. Every encounter in GW2 can be completed using any combination of classes, with any combination of weapons and utilities.
TL:DR…L2dodge
-BnooMaGoo.5690
Immobilize doesn’t prevent you from dodge rolling.
PffffFFFfhHhHAAAHAAAHAAAAHAAAA….
Oh wait, are you being serious??
I don’t suppose you know what an evasion frame is, or that you get them every time you press the dodge roll key.
-BnooMaGoo.5690
Bannish to wall —>Immob --> Charge.
Ele’s get immobs too.I’d call it a programming oversight… it doesn’t matter what the Cooldowns are or how difficult it might be to reproduce. …infact the more difficult something is to consistently reproduce, the more obvious it should be that it’s no intended, lol
Immobilize doesn’t prevent you from dodge rolling. You will roll in place, and you will get the exact same evasion frames regardless of whether or not you are immobilized. Fiery rush is so short, that one dodge roll -even while immobilized- will negate almost all of it.
Will it get fixed? I hove no doubt that it will.
Will anyone get banned for using it? Absolutely not.
-BnooMaGoo.5690
actually fiery rush works anywhere for the exact same damage you just have to use that ele blink skill
And who isn’t going to reflexively dodge roll when that ele teleports right on top of them with an FGS in hand?
-BnooMaGoo.5690
Exploit? nah.
The bear form has such a long cooldown that using it specifically for that one skill isn’t going to increase your DPS all that much. The FGS is slightly more worrisome, but the skills only work in this fashion when your target in pinned to a wall or packed into a corner.
It’s not always a feasible tactic in PvE to drive your target into a wall and facetank them. And in PvP, this tactic is almost impossible to pull off, as few people are going to stand still and eat an entire rush like that.
-BnooMaGoo.5690
I don’t get it. Is this just another one of those shameless “HAY GUYZ LOOK AT ME” threads?

Wall-o-text
Let’s step back and read your original post one more time.
I love challenging content. I have never complained about anything Anet has added to them game content-wise when others have complained about difficulty. Even the Halloween jumping puzzle, I spent all day working on it and LOVED it. I don’t care about achievements, so I am never concerned about ability to do something, just about how much fun it is to actually do.
But this? It’s ridiculous. I don’t understand why World 1 was so much fun and World 2 is so frustrating. Ninjas are knocking me off anywhere and everywhere before I even have a chance. I thought the darts were fun, because I’d forget to slow down and run right into them. THAT was fun and challenging. But the ninja knock-backs were just frustrating especially when there were no shops to upgrade our sticks so we actually stood a chance before getting knocked around.
Then Zone 3? Such poor execution. I thought the slippery ice was fun, but half the time I was randomly jumping around huge structures that barely even protruded from the rocks. Do this for about 10 minutes, then kill a few things, then randomly jump on small protruding cliffs again for another 10 minutes. This is not fun and challenging jumping. It’s just tedious jumping. And half the time I thought there were secret areas and I would risk jumping for a few minutes thinking it was a secret area only to end up at a dead-end and have to turn around in an attempt to get back. Why would you even do this to people? The environment and layout was just boring. Rocks and Ice. Rocks and more ice. The only thing I enjoyed was the Q-bert area.
Then the end boss! The fight was fun but why…WHY would you make the boss reset if everyone in the party happens to die? My BF and I spent more time trying to prevent us from both being dead at the same time than we did actually fighting the boss. We kept looking over at each others screen more than our own. It didn’t help that the lightning sparks were constantly knocking us off. Can you please come up with interesting combat instead of resorting to all enemies having knock-back? It seems lazy.
I think the worst part is that we only have 2 lives now. I feel like I spent more time getting sent to the lava area, then having to click the hub icon, then having to re-enter the world than I did actually playing. Every death was not about learning what I needed to do next, or challenging, or “LOL oops, didn’t see that gap!” but one step closer to having to be sent out of the zone then back in. Decreasing lives seemed like either an easy way to get people to buy the infinite coin or just a cheap way to make the content “appear” more challenging.
I don’t understand how dramatically different World 1 and World 2 are and I’m not sure if I’m going to even waste my time attempting World 3 this weekend.
You start by saying you love challenging content. You then spend the next 4 paragraphs complaining about the difficulty of world 2. You say “frustrating” but what I believe you really mean is, “too hard.”
People don’t generally post giant walls of rage and disappointment unless the content is too difficult for them.
Some parts of world 2 are indeed frustrating, but overcoming frustration was part of the challenge of the 8-bit era.
Edit: As for the storm wizard’s dragon phase…none of the attacks the storm dragon uses have a knockback associated with them. The sparks don’t knock you back, they just take away one heart. The breath doesn’t knock you back either. If you’re standing on a platform when it gets eaten, you won’t get knocked back, but you will die.

world 2 health potions broken or something
That was a potion upgrade. Now every time you use a health potion, it will heal 2 hearts instead of one. But health potions will now cost 25 baubles instead of 5.
If you wanted the “major in advancement” achievement, you needed to buy it anyway.
-BnooMaGoo.5690
When you preface a topic with:
I love challenging content.
…and then spend the rest of your topic complaining about the difficulty of world 2, you lose a lot of credibility. You might look at your complaints as having nothing to do with difficulty, but everything you’re complaining about is part of world 2’s difficulty curve.
Also, there is in fact a shop in W2-2 where you can upgrade your pointy stick. you just didn’t spend enough time looking.

I don’t get all the people who cry nerf at this spirit business. It’s only a nerf if you were able to keep your spirits alive for their full duration, and even then, you’re looking at 13 seconds of downtime when they die. That’s not as bad as people claim.

What’s the deal with the door in W2-3 with all the bouncing goats? Is getting past it just a matter of luck? or is there some pattern to the goats hopping on the switches?
So far, it always takes me at least 5 minutes and 1 life to make it past this one door.

Bomb + Wallet + Candle + Torch???

Had you played SAB the first time it was around, I would expect you to at least have the bombs unlocked. The wallet upgrade I could understand, but if you wanted the “minor in enhancement” achievement from world 1, you would have had the wallet as well.
As for the candle, you get one for free in W1-2.

Even more people are saying their codes they got directly from arena net are not working, they said they are already used even confirmed by support…
Seems like someone got hold of mr sparkles codes before arena net gave them out and is now selling them on ebay. Which is why they are coming up already in use, they have been sold off..
This happens every time a company hands out codes to unlock exclusive in game items. It happened with the mini ceratadons and destroyers in GW1, and it’s been happening with all kinds of CD keys and unlock codes for years.
I accidentally received two certatdon codes, I attempted to use the first one only to find that it had already been redeemed. Luckily, the second one worked.

If your keyboard/mouse isn’t decade old… why not just driver side bind 2 keys to 1?
When I do sab I use one of my generic mouse buttons that’s for call target and set it as alt+space which is dodge and jump. Problem solved.
Also not sure if its needed anywhere I use it when it saves me time/effort.
My keyboard is 13 years old now, and while my mouse is new, it only has two buttons and a scroll wheel. Because I can’t be kitten to spend more than 10 bucks on a mouse.
More to the point, I’ve only had to dodge jump to access some secret areas in W2-2 and 2-3, as well as the shortcut eagle in 2-2.
-BnooMaGoo.5690
I’m not going to bother with any of it. Because time gated stuff is bad, and everyone at Anet should feel bad for implementing it.
-BnooMaGoo.5690
Despite all the so called performance improvements, GW2 has been performing worse today than it did at launch.
The best part? If I try to lower my GFX settings using the “best performance” button -when I’m not completely by myself in the middle of nowhere- my client decides it would rather call it quits and crash to desktop rather than load the new settings.

Do something about Entangle perma-roots –
Entangle is a bad skill. If you get caught in the roots at all, you need to play better.
- The animation is so painfully obvious, the only way it should hit you, is if you have no dodges/evades left.
- The roots pulse one second of immobilize every second. If you have any condition duration reduction (lemongrass poultry soup/runes of melandru) you can just walk out of the roots between pulses.
- The roots can be destroyed, and have extremely low health. My ranger can destroy them with a single tap of [Maul].
- If your class has any teleport skills (5 out of 8 classes can teleport/shadow step) you can just teleport to safety.
I find it difficult to see the credibility in your argument when you’re complaining about a skill that’s borderline useless in skilled PvP, and just barely useful in PvE.
-BnooMaGoo.5690
Shortcut eagle is your best friend in the pain cliffs. Once you get the glove, you never have to take the long way again, unless you want the achievements…Then you need to take the long way forward, then back again.

that’s not the point, in a cosmetic game the apparence is important, and your skin should be reconognizable by everyone, just think about legendary without those skin… its all about skin, and i think that ascended should have something like that
Ascended does have something like that…and you transmuted over it.
GG.
-BnooMaGoo.5690
I don’t want to sound angry…but why the hell are we required to backtrack through what is arguably the longest level in SAB, then ride the shortcut all the way back from the beginning just to collect the last baubles in the level?
Am I missing something here? Because after backtracking through the entire level at least 6 times, I have failed to succeed at collecting those last baubles.
-BnooMaGoo.5690
This thread seriously exists?
I must say, I’m baffled. I always thought my greatsword was fine…more than fine in fact. The only thing that sets our GS apart from a warrior’s GS isn’t damage, it’s the ability to pin a foe down long enough to get that damage to connect. Warriors have that in bolas/skull crack/bulls charge. If anything, I would argue that guardians need more ways to snare opponents, not more greatsword changes.

-BnooMaGoo.5690
And it’s quite powerful there as well. But rangers put out quite a few more useful combo fields than guardian including a fire field from torch (if you run it) and the game’s longest lasting water field.
It gives the weapon one really powerful (honestly too powerful) way to self-synergize but doesn’t address core problems the weapon faces, which is awkward animations and bad base damage. If they prioritize a blast finisher over fixing the weapon’s main problems, it will still only see major play in PvE because they will be forced to nerf other aspects of the weapon to compensate for the finisher.
Which is why I don’t think that it needs to become a blast finisher. Maul’s old role was as a DPS spike. I feel that is how it what it should become again. The rest of the weapon is pretty balanced, if a bit low on the damage scale.
I would argue that maul needs to hit 5 targets. I wouldn’t mind a damage/attack speed increase on the auto chain either.
-BnooMaGoo.5690
- Reverse the vulnerability change on GS#2, it just doesn’t make sense, and the bleed was nice.
- Give blast finisher to GS#2 so rangers can contribute more in zergs.
The Vulnerability would make more sense given that it’s a power-based weapon; the condition function just needs an improvement on duration, stack strength or both.
Adding a blast finisher won’t solve core problems the weapon faces (clunky animation response, bad base damage, bad trait synergy) but will force a nerf on other weapon functions. If the weapon receives its needed QoL improvements, I’m sure everybody will be singing another tune when it comes to this potential blast finisher.
The problem with the vulnerability change is, there isn’t enough vulnerability to make up for the loss of bleed damage. Unless the target is already capped, the bleeding dealt more damage at +0 condition damage/duration than the new vulnerability adds.
-BnooMaGoo.5690
The whole greatsword skill chain needs to be changed to flow better. Hilt bash>maul is fine, and made better with moment of clarity. But you can’t really do anything with that measly 3 stacks of vulnerability, since all of the weapon’s burst damage is on the skill which applied it.
My suggestions: Add a clause to power stab (3rd hit in the auto chain) that says “deals 25% more damage to vulnerable foes”
Alternatively, change the moment of clarity trait to “you and your pet deal 30% more damage to stunned or dazed foes, increase stun and daze durations by 50%.”
Edit: I just had another thought. Change hilt bash to: “Stun your target (1s). If you strike them from behind, you and your pet gain quickness for 2 seconds. Your pet’s next attack deals +50% damage.”

I’m always amazed at the amount of outcry on this forum, based on changes that aren’t even tested yet. A couple of weeks later, someone finds an entire new and effective Ranger build, and this will all be forgotten.
Until it gets nerfed.
Im all out of optimism.
How is this different then any other multiplayer game? You either adapt, or stop playing.
There’s a problem with this way of thinking. If the trend of nerfs continues without providing buffs in other areas, you inevitably reach a point where every viable build has been nerfed so much, it becomes more effective to simply play another class.
-BnooMaGoo.5690
Lore is fine, but only if it’s consistent. So far, the lore of GW2 has been a jumbled mess of retcons and plot holes.

Okay, so I guess what I’m wondering is what functionality does this gaming keyboard, designed specifically for gw2, offer that my $10 keyboard doesn’t? If I’m buying a gw2 gaming keyboard from Steel Series then shouldn’t there be specific features geared toward gw2?
That’s the issue I’m having. How is that unreasonable? I feel like your tone was unwarranted.
This keyboard wasn’t designed specifically for GW2. It’s the SteelSeries base model with a coat of GW2 paint.

It’s a retcon. Ready chapter 6 of the manuscripts, (written out of character) talks about the hall of heroes, The the fate of the dead. It doesn’t work that way anymore. retcon. Look at what it says again about Orr (written out of character):
Orrians looked after the buildings and structures left behind when the gods left Tyria,
caring for them in the hopes that one day, the divine beings who created magic and bestowed it upon the world would return.the gods didn’t CREATE magic (now) .. retcon.
The entire game went one way, then all the sudden, when it was convenient to make room for something else, it went the other way.
Nothing in GW1 or GW2 says the gods didn’t create magic. Perhaps they did. But it was Abaddon who bestowed the gift of magic on the humans. Magic existed before humans came to Tyria. (it is assumed that Glint, and the forgotten were both privy to the magical arts) And of course, the elder dragons.
It’s canon. deal with it.
-BnooMaGoo.5690
And of course “they created the world” as according to some human myth. Only, I don’t remember it saying that in my copy of the Manuscripts.
In fact I just pulled it out . . . and there’s no mention of the world creation . . .
You didn’t read very far.. first page:
Well, you know, I do have to give the nitpickers something to do
Besides, it’s far more entertaining to listen to these things when we had very little of the mythology present in the beginning we had even after Nightfall. They literally were making a lot of it up as they went . . .
Also, we can get up in arms about the nature of magic and the gods, but not about how Mad King Thorn makes absolutely no sense within the history of the game, at all?
Mad King Thorn makes the most sense if you think about it.
-BnooMaGoo.5690
I think you need to brush up on your lore before you start making criticisms.
http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Gods
http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Exodus_of_the_Gods
The gods did not create the world of Tyria. The creation of Tyria by the gods is a human myth. As for the gods no longer being on Tyria, this has been the case since before the events of GW1. The gods left Tyria a very long time ago.
And you do realize that the lore retcon was actually applied to those wiki pages after GW2 came out, right? And, in fact, they were changed with every little retcon in between Prophesies and GW Beyond. Which is what the guy is saying. When it was just Prophesies, the gods were gods who did in fact create the world – and that’s been slowly whittled away until they’re either pretenders, usurpers, or powerful beings from another plane who merely came to play god on Tyria. They even got their domains mixed up. (Grenth was the patron of water – suddenly now it’s Lyssa instead.)
Before you go criticizing someone’s analysis of the retcon, maybe you should brush up on what’s actually been retconned out.
Grenth is the patron god of ice and death. Abaddon was the god of water and secrets. How lyssa came to embody water I have no idea.
Even as far back as prophecies does the in game lore state that the gods brought humans to Tyria. There is nothing that states the gods created Tyria, other than some (human) tales. The Lore also tells us that the dragon Glint was the first creature the gods brought to Tyria, followed by the forgotten. Humans didn’t appear on Tyria until quite some time after the forgotten. And you will find several in-game texts throughout the crystal desert and other parts of prophecies that reference the gods “bringing” (as if from another place) humans/forgotten to Tyria.
I believe there is also in-game reference to the gods themselves first arriving on Tyria some time after its creation.
