It now takes 7.5 Dailies to get the same as 1 former Daily (all of these do not include events etc done during it). Our new monthly karma reward used to take 1.33 repeating Dailies to get (all of these are unmodified as well). What we used to get for the Monthly used to take 10 Dailies. Now it takes 75 to get that. What we used to get from one monthly now takes 7.5 Monthlies to get. These numbers are not pulled out of a hat. This is overkill nerfing.
Agreed. This is overkill nerfing. The karma armor and items were the only ones affordable for people who have time to play only the dailies.
The further away from personal reach the goals go, the more people will find an incentive to play another game.
To be honest I absolutely LOATHED the stomp mechanic in the scarlet invasions. If it was only on champions, thats fine, but if its on EVERYTHING like the twisted watchwork enemies? I’ll pass.
It is not an all. It is on chanpions and veterans and randomly on other foes. The randomness will also apply to Veterans and Champions too. The nechanic won’t trigger every time. It may be a sort of time based trigger" if a foe is killed under 1 second or if a foe is killed over 3 min.
You need to take consideration of solo players too. Not all the veterans or champions are killed in a zerg so, if a solo player kills a veteran alone in longer time then 3 min then he will certainly trigger a finisher mechanic
IMO they should be where they are, in PvE enemies should die the moment i kill them regardless of it’s rank.
that and i don’t see the reason on having a finisher, i have a finisher on my skill bar, it’s the one i kill the enemies with
It is for the artistic effect more then effectiveness. The foe you down will die after a few seconds even if you use or not the finisher. They won’t rally back if you don’t use it
Besides, adding a bit of randomization on which foes it will trigger at what times will not make be a “must do”

If I want to engage in online dating, I’ll use match.com or eHarmony. I play GW2 to have fun and have absolutely no interest whatsoever in having romantic relationships with other players.
These sites don’t guarantee you will find a gamer while GW2 does
EU’s prime-time is like working day middle for US. It is natural they update it during their working schedule not after hours. In the same time they can test if the update is good.
To boost up the sale of “finishers” they should work in PvE too. In the “Scarlet invasions” we used this mechanic soo I don’t see why not permanently introduce it for PvE too.
It will be a sort of “down state” for enemies, time in which the players can use these finishers.
Lets say these “downed states” and “finishers” will be added to veteran and champion bosses and randomly to various normal foes.
I am not a PvPer so for me these finishers in cash shop are totally non-tempting for buying unless they work in PvE too.
Wonder if devs play wow
wow, aion, jade dynasty and many others, too obvious not to see the similarities.
They’re now just saying: Players, if you want karma, stop failing events on purpose!‘’ they don’t longer reward us for failing events which in my opinion is a good thing.
People failed events due to two reasons.
1) They prefer to farm foes due to certain event failure
2) They are alone and are not able to finish the event.
Punishing people for playing the game as they want is not a good move from ANet
What was in your mind A-net for lowering the karma reward from over 400 to only 600 karma? Do you think you will make the 1h/day player spend more time grinding events?
I guess not. Our time is limited by means independent from us so we can’t change thet so we play your game more.
The karma exotic armor is the one people like me were after not some stupid legendary.
Or the karma weapons.
Now you just kittened it all op.
This day/night more visible in-game has been suggested many times and ignored by the devs in the same amount
Well, yeah. Another item I am not gonna hunt.
Karma / exotics are good enough for me
Hahaha. I did the same thing as OP. I would do anything to get an infinite roll!
Be careful with that “anything”. You never know what they may as from you
Daily and monthly achievement rewards now include Essence of Luck. To offset this, the amount of karma earned from daily and monthly achievements has been reduced.
Event failure no longer rewards karma in order to encourage players to succeed at events.
So you give us less karma for dailes and no karma for failing events? kitten, i am not gonna do any event anymore when I feel I will fail. At least, now I tried to do it. Now why bother? for 1 silver? No ty.
They should give us 1.3 gold /h for the time since the first report and the time they will fix the bug. This would be fair for the majority of players.
it seems it is about EU accounts playing in EU or NA servers
Same problem here too
Can some one list the 13 zones? I am at 11/13 and I even stayed in one day to watch them for 20h and nothing. Still didn’t get the last 2
It is only in here so PvE players are able to use finisher skills similar to PvP. Nothign else. Maybe they will introduce such a feature because the gem store finishers “need” to be bought by PvE players too
So, the super technological asura who can build golems and holograms come to teach their pupils with such an outdated graphics mechanic. I bet many of their kids will rather have a “street fight” lesson then a eye scratching and ear grinding one.
oh, and people complain about asuras being to advanced for the medieval fantasy world of GW2 Ha,
I agree with the OP. This living story is to much into the feminist agenda.
I like the living stories. It gives me things to look forward to every two weeks because I don’t like to level up new character and I don’t like dungeons or PvP. Doing LS is very fun for me no matter if it is smash 300 pinatas or doing invasion events.
If there was no LS, I would feel really bored and would be just hanging around Queensdale and doing the champion run
when they had the Bazaar of the Four Winds people complain there was nothing to fight.
Do I have to do this quest stuff on the character that closing ceremony soulbound thing is on? Cause I did it on a character that I rarely use and is underequipped. Or can I just get those pieces and stuff on my main like I had planned?
Achievements are accountbound. You can do the continuation of the story with what ever character you want.
Note: you cant complete invasions on low level characters. I tried with a lvl 17 but I wasn’t getting any exp
Down-state is GW2 unique feature. It won’t go away. And it gives a heroic feeling when you succeed and rally up. It is really innovative feature.
If you don’t want to use it, just let yourself get killed, but let others fight for their survival if they prefer.
They just do not seem like a well thought out idea…. I can’t help but feel like it was added in at the last moment as an after thought.
I am very sure that A-Net knows the percentage of under lvl 20 characters compared to the ones above lvl 20 The statistic is based on all accounts not only the active ones. They saw many players quit before lvl 20 as well as seeing many accounts have less then 5 characters created or lower then 20.
If the number of low level characters plus the free character slots is over 65% of the total number of characters, than the scroll is not useless
Keep your scrolls, dont think they are useless because if they release a new race / profession you will need it if you decide to roll that one too.

It would be nice to have all permanent transformer tonics like the Watchwork to be used in combat. Let us be “all humanoid” foes in the battle.
Of course we cant be a drake or a skale wielding a sword, but we can easily be an ice elemental or stone elemental
[quote=2698958;SoPP.7034:
I have an idea that Dev conversation about birthdays went something like:
“Character birthdays are coming up”
“Sigh really…. geeeeez were gonna have to give them something”
“Don’t look at me, I’m busy with LS stuff”
“Well I’m too busy to flush this out, what about him whose that guy? He doesn’t look busy”
“That’s the janitor”
“Hey you, what do you think these guys would want as birthday presents?”
The very elderly man looks up thoughtfully, pauses for a moment and says
“A beautiful woman to keep them warm at night, something that helps them grow up quickly to be big and strong and even something to help them on the way”
…
“OK, I can work with that”[/quote]
Good one man. Made a laugh a lot
Thank you A-Net for the gifts.
I like the mini Jennah and I used the exp scrolls to my new characters.
The game has been great for the first year.
Sometimes boring, sometimes cheerful, sometimes too hard other times too easy but all-in-all, the year has been fun and worth spending in the game.
:) Happy anniversary Guild Wars 2!
If you have deleted the characters then the 1 year timer was re-seted
-snip-
So – I mean noooooo offense at all when I ask this… but, do you do ANYTHING at all besides play GW2? That’s an obscene amount of altitis. Do you go outside at all? Bathroom? Do you even sleep? The game has been out for a year now and you have leveled FOURTEEN 80’s?
Do you do anything other than level alts? I’m really curious because I’m leveling a 5th 80, and it’s sooo exhausting that I just keep stopping. How on earth do you find the willpower to level sooo many alts?!
.
I think leveling is not an issue in the game. With crafting takes less then 10h. With hearts takes about 65h. With crafting and hearts takes about 40h
So, if a guy has spent money to buy 44 characters he obviously has money to spend on crafting (aka gems for gold). I think he is not leveling all of them tho. He is an alto-holic and he needed all professions
5 races x 8 professions = 40 characters x 2 genre = 80 characters
Probably they will give a 20lvl scroll at 2 year’s brithday
Events fail because the objectives are “not told in your face”. They should have used a similar mechanic like in Spirit Sprint: announce what to do next not just a text in the top corner where it may be accidentally hidden
You dont need to fight all the foes. Just those for Faren rescue and Scarlet many facets. The rest are just avoidable like in a stealth game: hide there run there.
I have beaten Scalet over 5 times. I guess its is server problem
The higher the prices the more time to farm needed so the shortcut to have the desired “shiny” faster is to buy gems with real cash and convert them to gold. A-net has a Win from the inflation not a drop down.
The more gold you need to buy 100 gems, the less people will use the game money instead of real money.
Bump it so devs can see it
It would be nice if A-Net would organize some story writing contest for their future living story. Let’s say for the next year.
They can set up some parameters like we need to have Brham and Rox involved plus introducing 3 new characters, 1 good and 2 bad, etc.
let players write stories and give them some in-game rewards for most of the winners.
You may also combine some ideas into a better one.
Have you asked anyone with over 10.000 AP what have they done to get that much when most of the 1 year casual players are around 6500 or even less?
Is that a serious question? The main factor in being far ahead of most people in AP is how many of the dailies/monthlies/living stories you completed. Any1 can run around and grab explorer, hero, jp’s, dungeon master, etc whenever they want but daily alone is 16 AP/day that you can never get if you missed.
I am very serious.
Are you a hardcore player? If yes, then you should be playing everyday, all sorts of content not only what you like. If not, then you are NOT a hardcore player but just a casual by-passer and you should not complain about not getting APs as fast as others
The same thing happens with farming or buying mats. Farming takes time, buying is instant.
So, I guess any casual can get a the current legedaries from his first game day if they spend enough real cash and using exp crafting boosters will be lvl 80 in less then 10h in
For APs you NEED to play the game. You can’t just buy APs.
Having a Special weapon awarded for achievements shows your dedication to the game not your social status irl
(edited by Ronah.2869)
also, AP points are mostly for casual players, because neither dungeon nor wvw give a lot of ap points, it’s mostly doing dailies and living story, so basically not a lot of hardcore people will get these weapons…
Really? I wonder how you describe a “hardcore player” if doing most of the things in the game makes you a “casual”? Have you asked anyone with over 10.000 AP what have they done to get that much when most of the 1 year casual players are around 6500 or even less?
as for ATM
That could actually work… But to unlock the stat you have to craft with a lot of that stat material and make a tokken with it and other stuff and give it to the NPC. And it works the same to unlock a weapon type. And you have to upgrade it through the forge for the 2nd weapon set, once more for the 2 underwater weapon, once more for the armor and 3 other time for all the trinket.
Every upgrade and unlock cost around the price of a legendary in term of material and time. I shall call it “The adaptative technologic morpher” or “the ATM”
Good luck farming that…
(edited by Ronah.2869)
I think WE make more stories in these forums, more complex, more fun or funnier, etc then A-Net would probably do.
I would make it obtainable by the achievement system like the zenith weapon skins. After unlocking all zenith weapon skins, you would be awarded a morphing station which will collect all the skins and transform it into the ancestral weapon skin.
This skin will be applied to any weapon you like and it will transform it.
This system won’t advantage any type of player. It will be obtainable by playing the game and not doing certain things.
You wont need to be the richest man in the game to buy it or you can not have a RNG to your side to obtain it. It will be awarded for all who do something in the game for a sustained amount of time.
Achievement points show your dedication to the game not how many salaries you put in the TP to buy it, or how many hours you have spent farming gold or materials, or how luky you were to get a precursor.
It will be fair for all types of players, PvPers, WvWers or PvEers, hardcore and casuals
When equipping the weapon it will override the current traits with a new set. It will not mess up the ones you already have so when you unequip it, you will return to the previous traits
The new weapon traits will be generic and not specific to a weapon type as the original traits are.
Becasue it is a living weapon, it will “take control” of your character sort of that is why it is randomly morphing, but the more you use it, the more the character “tames” the weapon and can make it not change randomly. Here comes those sigils but, hey, some people are not interested in developing this idea, so why bother.
right, so now you can’t have a sigil in your weapon if you want it static like it should be, making it worse than exotics.
or you can have it change to weapons you’re not traited for and can’t use effectively making it worse than exotics.
so you’re suggesting a weapon with such an absurd farming time that no one would ever have it, but if god forbid they did, they could only use it to flaunt it around in Lion’s Arch or be slightly worse than players who paid three gold for an exotic.
coool.
gotcha.
I like the attitude of nay sayers It is easier to find issues and don’t want to think of how to solve them. I will re-post a quote from above
There are no constraints on the human mind, no walls around the human spirit, no barriers to our progress except those we ourselves erect.
Ronald Reagan
you’re right. your weapon suggestion is bad as farming a legendary, with a gimmick that makes it totally unusable in combat, without sacrificing a sigil placement or jumping through some other hoop.
interesting point.
having a legendary will get you stuck with it forever. My weapon suggestion will give you unlimited sets of weapons for all characters no matter what profession they are because it is not soulbound. Those lock sigils can be sold in gem store for those who want it static
nearly impossible to get, childish gimmick, no competitive value, would never be used in combat.
sounds like the kind of weapon I would not want.
I have the same feeling of the current legendaries. Hmmm.. wonder why?
Begging for newer, more powerful weapons…I’m guessing you aren’t a fan of Guild Wars 1?
I played GW1 for over 5 years and I am a fan of it. This weapon is NOT more powerful, it just has different looking animations for the skills and it is all weapons in one.
The THC is powerful in this one. Seriously? A weapon that morphs at will? Like those warriors that melee stuff on a longbow?
It’s a creative idea but anything short of a shiny cosmetic item it’d be completely useless for absolutely anything since, as your idea states, it keeps morphing, randomly even. People would never pay for something like that even if it were offered on the Gem Store for cheap.
Now, a weapon that you can morph stats and weapon skills on yourself wouldn’t be such a bad idea
The weapon morphs randomly once in every 30 min or so. It is not like it will change every 30 seconds. The random changing gives the feeling of a living weapon, with a mind of its own. The weapon is not controlled by the character, only handled by it.
For the people who don’t like to use multiple weapon sets and change between them, this weapon won’t be a incentive to get, but for those liking to change weapon sets it will be very ok. It is all weapons in one. Besides its is usable for all characters one player has in his account no matter what profession it is.
People are just used to have one set of weapons and they only use that. It feels really boring after a while even if you start to “master” those sets.
It may be possible, who knows, to have a sort of sigil that will lock the weapon in its current form for those who don’t like to change, but this will be an option not a default feature.
Removing the sigil will return the weapon random morphing feature
