How is stability relevant in this case? It’s not a knock, launch etc. As to “condi bomb,” it requires setup and skill to deliver. The reaper can deliver similar condi without as much set up.. DH can deliver similar damage with a trap bomb, In fact most classes can create comparable damage in one manner or another.

None of the other classes require 3 live “soap bubble” clones that die almost instantly to damage in order to set up there burst.

I detect a desire to “get” Mesmers here.

It feels like mesmer is the only class you think you are good at, hence why you are defending it so vehemently.

I’m not even someone you can pull the l2p card on – I can play mesmer at a very high level , and I’m more than willing to admit that this class is mega busted. It’s absolutely disgusting that mesmer remains in it’s current state.

Bad players will never reach legendary because once they near the threshold of even diamond they would get kitten back down the toilet by actual diamond players.

I’d much rather the toxic good player. There’s nothing you can do about a bottom feeder, but you can ignore the toxic player and still have him do his job.

Hi, I am one of the people that asked for a video. It’s quite unfortunate that people are abusing you after you made an actual attempt to improve and look for feedback (your video, obviously). Keep in mind these same bads are also stuck in the same division as you, and are merely projecting their kitten onto you.

That being said, with how “well-known” you are throughout the forum community, I wouldn’t be surprised if this happens. Especially after the video.

I’ve also noticed the keyboard turning and skill clicking happens mostly in fights. It feels as though you can’t keep track of too many things at once.

Your rotations could be a little cleaner and more proactive. Your moas could have been more impactful too.

That’s what I gleaned after the first watch on your vid. I feel as though you would’ve lost that match if the enemy team wasn’t 3 DH and a thief. More or less what I expected from sapphire.

On the one hand, anet doesn’t want divisions to be grindable. On the other, they require division crossing to get the wings.

If it is anet’s attitude that players should be stuck in “deserved” divisions, then they must intend that getting the wings will be impossible for a majority of players. This is true because of the division cross requirement. That being the case, there’s no real motivation for the vast majority to play. The system is self evidently created to prevent most from ever getting there.

Completely wrong – every player IS able to achieve the wings. It just depends on the amount of actual effort they want to put in to the game. Grinding games != getting better. Actively trying to improve your play, playing in dueling servers/OS, watching rotations, etc.

I played twice against at least one and probably two members of PZ in Sapphire within the past couple of days. They were on alts. I took screen shots and posted part of them on another thread.

PZ players aren’t robots designed to play GW2 perfectly. They are good, yes, but far from unbeatable.

That being said, why don’t you record your gameplay? I’m sure a lot of us “elitists” here would love to be proven correct about this being a L2P issue.

Well previous system was better if:

1. There would be placement matches before the season
2. MMR reset instead of placement matches
3. Separation of SoloQ TeamQ
4. Scraping of Safe guards
5. Increased number of pips needed for every division
6. Anti smurf/amber shopping measures.

That way the system in s1 would have been complete copy of LoL ranked.

At this point, I’d rather get 2v1’d again to get action on the maps. BG seems dead because there’s no action, which causes people to log out, cause we’d rather do anything else other than karma training (I tag up for fights, fights end, half my group logs off). Groups from YB and JQ are just karma training empty borderlands thinking they’re hot stuff, complaining about us zerging them down with 10-15 man groups calling them “blobs”, all the while bunkering in keep lords rooms with siege.

If you want BG to play again, bring us fights without siege. Most of us won’t even care if we’re vastly outnumbered.

Why don’t you explain to me how PPT works? I’m always open to learning something new. What is my data missing that is so important? Server politics?

PPT isn’t a function (right now) of organisation and skill, but rather, of time and numbers. The more numbers you have on at any given time means that you’ll naturally get more PPT.

If you log in at any time outside of NA prime on BG you’ll notice this. Our small groups are backcapping as fast as they can, but due to lack of numbers, our PPT suffers. We lack numbers because people aren’t willing to put the time into WvW right now due to the lack of incentives to win and the lack of rewards while playing.

But then, I don’t think anyone on BG ever saw you put more hours in-game to help out our weaker time slots.

Maybe if Blackgate didn’t have such a sour attitude towards pugs and pve players they would have MORE people to put in those hours and there would be no grind. But alas, Blackgate is a “skilled fight” server and have chased away all those no skill pvd players.

Your inability to get the coverage speaks volumes about your server culture.

You are entitled to your opinion, or in this case, confusion. Don’t confuse my engagement in a larger argument as bitterness towards BG. I left BG because I didn’t like the culture the old guard created. As a person that is interested in playing the game that Anet created, sitting on BG and listening to the whining about how Anet ruined everything was getting tiring.

If you are confused, its because you don’t understand that others can enjoy things that you don’t. In this case, I enjoy games when I’m trying to win them. BG’s toxic attitude towards PvD, siege humping “cancerous” game play is evidence that you don’t approve of others that enjoy different things. BG is bitter that Anet has ignored them and not provided them a “skill-based” WvW. which is about as idiotic a request that I could imagine.

Large scale warfare is not about fair fights. Its about coordination, communication, community, resources, alliances, “coverage”, morale, inspiration and RAW NUMBERS. You don’t have to believe me, but I would direct you to a history book. Warfare has always been a numbers game. And as the scope of the conflict grows the possibility of a fair fight dissolves and guerrilla tactics take over.

The servers that make the rational choices within the current game mechanics will push up and those that don’t will fall.

BG and JQ are relatively even. BG has a stronger NA than JQ, JQ is stronger than BG during SEA. Both servers are non-existent during EU prime. I’ve never played oceanic so I can’t speak for that.

He’s right, you know. We were frustrated with the fact that the server wouldn’t call people out for mistakes, and with the fact that there were no noticeable efforts for improvement across the general population. We also didn’t get along with many guilds (pretty much all of them) that didn’t share our mentality, and as a result, we left the server, and shortly after those very same guilds that didn’t agree with us realized that we were right, and as a result left the server, which after a few more hard months in T3/T4, has been monotonically sinking in the rankings ever since.

If you ask me, that’s what ruined WvW for IoJ. They didn’t have the drive to get better.

– Good vs. Condi-Mesmer, Thief, Necro
– Bad vs. unblockable spells, Elementalist, Revenant
– Traps give you an ability to play a unique mind game where you can zone your enemy
– Daze and AoE damage on downed bodies is incredibly high
– Longbow is the only good weapon on Dragonhunter unfortunately, so it’s countered by projectiles

Thief

– It’s not supposed to be a 1v1 class, but it can kill Revenants and Druids solo
– Bad vs. everything that will kill you
– Still the fastest class in the game with Shortbow and Shadowstep/Shadowtrap
– Has easiest access to stealth in the game, you can effectively choose to never take a bad engagement
– Stealth = mind games…or uselessness (you decide)
– Excels at +1-ing a fight mostly a 1v1, and excels at porting up and down Z axis heavy maps such as Khylo and Temple
– Dazes wreck your life which is why Thief counters Druid

Now whats a thief +1 pressure to a mesmer mobility/portals (aka +5 since he can portal all of his teammate)???
Second DH is , according to zoose, Good vs. Condi-Mesmer, Thief, Necro where thieves can only +1.

See where i am going… Educate yourself my friend, learn the classes and how they works. I believe zoose made a mistake on his ranking, clearly his data contradict his ranking of the classes.

Mesmer can portal only so many times. You’re trying to compare thief mobility to guardian point control and dueling matchups when the strength of thief mobility and +1/decap potential far outweigh both of those combined.

Berserkers and Thieves can also beat DH. I don’t see how you can draw a conclusion based on possible scenario.

Here’s some pros of a DD:
- Still the fastest class in the game, and as such, has highest decap potential.
- Still arguably the best +1 class in the game.
- Can deal with reaper chill better than most classes.
- Interrupt on demand.

Notice how I didn’t list any cons of the DD.

Of course I am, I am a socraterian by heart. But even I knows that DH isn’t the 8th worst class. And the rest, there is no need to bother…

Tempest, Druid, Revenant, Scrapper, Reaper, Chrono are all objectively better than DH. There isn’t any room to argue here.

That leaves us with daredevil, berserker, and DH.

Its a toss-up between the skill levels of the DH and daredevil. I would take an average DH over an average daredevil. But i’d take a good DD over a good DH any day. If I had the choice, i’d never take a berserker, but this is my personal opinion due to bad experiences with a certain berserker player.

So yes, DH does hover around the 7th-8th place class.

I got to legendary playing mostly scrapper, so I have a lot of experience in these matchups.

You need to kite a necro around the point if he goes into deathshroud. If that means using sneak gyro, then use it. Use elixir gun to keep out of stealth. Once he runs out, slick shoes for easy damage.

Generally speaking, you won’t ever win a 1v1 a mesmer of equal skill. You can stalemate it, however. Don’t use your dodge on shield 5, you can literally turn the other way and it will miss. Dodge the immob on sword 3. Other than that it should be pretty smooth sailing provided you don’t get moa’d.
