Believe it or not, actually yes. When they released the SW i thought this would get better. But no, once again they have shown us that underpaid and overworked devs cant do anything right.

Guess people were getting the achievements from last patch too fast. Anything to keep us in the new zone longer . . . I guess.

Yep, their way to artificicaly encance the playtime. Dont add new content, add RNG based drop for achievments. Great idea…..
People like me who are cursed by the RNG god wont see any of these items in years.
Me for example had over 300 Tequatl runs and only got 1 skin recently. With this luck I have to kill those ugly kittens several thousand times until I get the items.
Is this what you highly praised???? More RNG instead of some really good content?

I thought that you were recovering from your failing spree, but I was wrong. The last episode of the LS with the new zone was obviously a pleasant surprise, nothing more. From now on its probably going down really fast again.

She either got corrupted by Modremorth or by the Nightmare Court. And yes we should given more options how to move forward instead of just clicking away the text.
I didnt wanted her on the mission from begin because she clearly acted suspicious. She didnt really help in combat, was sneaking around and at the boss fight she just stood there doing nothing.
Hell, why didnt they gave us an option to put a bullet or a load of pellets into her head before she could escape?

Stacking in Dungeons and how ANET can fix it

Schwarzseher.9873

If you dont like stacking then open a LFG for a “normal” run without it. But if they really make the bosses harder so they have to be played like “intended” you are basically crippling the game more than it already is. You are forcing people to kill the boss in 1 particular way instead of several different ones.
Currently stacking is the fastest way to kill something. Lets be honest, imagine you dont have much time but there is giant pile of wood which needs to be turned into firewood. You have the choice between an ordinary axe and a electric cutter. You would probably pick the electric cutter because its effective and less exhausting.

Well, shucks, you guys, why didn’t we just waypoint out of there? We got these wonderful waypoint things that are so great we don’t mounts — so why would we need choppers? Or ships at sea. Or anything else! It’s silly.

Also: we’ve got super laser beam thingees that can slice chunks off elder dragons — and choppers and submarines. How do they communicate in the field (or at sea)?

How come nobody has invented a radio?

Because its too simply, in their eyes real heros dont need radios in their vehicles. They will organize with colored flags, just like the first french tanks.

Rather food scandal incoming. I already see the unlucky people, who ate of his food lying ,in the streets of LA and vomiting their own internal organs. And then its our task to stop this manic before he contaminates the whole water supply system of Tyria.

Choppers, subs, ray beams, portals, but no...

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Schwarzseher.9873

Design flaws and budget cuts are a bad mix. Portable communication devices are obviously extremly expensive in the world of Tyria (until now, just waiting for Nornkia to kick in with their new mobile devices) and Im pretty sure the pact choppers dont have radio systems on board too. And transporting large amount of cargo is expensive and needs a lot of energy so mostly its cheaper to send a caravan. Also waypointing is not healthy for you since you are exposed to radiation everytime you port.
Also think about this: If you use a waypoint in a enemy territory you are making yourself an easy target, the enemy just needs to aim for the WP to get some kills.

Schwarzseher.9873

Positive ones: GW2 after release and the first months. Wow, such a beautiful world and made with so much love and creativity. The devs really planned the whole thing trough.
The first Halloween, Christmas Event, SAB and the start of the LS. It was just so amazing how much and how good they made them of the things they had.
And the Karka Event was one of the few which made the time you invested into the LS worth by giving you a high chance for a precursor.

Negative ones: After Scarlet popped up things went downhill. LS Season 1, large parts of Season 2, Megaservers in Citys, NPE, Gemgate. These were just a few things which made me say: Wow, what the hell guys. You just managed to rewrite the definition of abysmal.

Schwarzseher.9873

Just take a look at the forums, people are protesting against the changes (many completeley unnecessary and destroying important parts of the game). You just missed the recent attempt of this company to force us to invest RL money for shop items. They took it back but they are certainly planning something new (they initially removed custum amounts of gem conversion and tried to force you to convert in 400er steps, at the same time they sold items for 300,500, 700 gems). Exept from that we have 1 new area….. after several months. Players mostly still gets ignored. Starter areas got dumbed down, and alot of stuff we loved there got removed. Running animations got removed (unfortunaly the good ones), the game still hates everything exept zerk warriors and alot more. If I would list up everything they messed up this year you would still read this when the next patch comes out.
With other words you missed (almost) nothing positive. GW2 is still the game which removed more things than adding after 2 years.

However, since 35k of the 45k population was killed during the attack, all workers will have to be brought in from outside sources(and we know how easy that is).

How about a story line where Kiel’s agents quietly slip over to Southsun and convince the poor settlers there to jump to LA? Then she swoops in with her airship and gives them all a lift, leaving the Consortium hosed and getting LA more of the help it needs.

I dont think that this will happen since LA is way more dangerous than Southsun Cove. At least you know what will kill you in Southsun Cove.

Gnashblade wouldnt have made it better, he is the main supplier for the building materials and would have simply sold way overpriced stuff. And about the money of the bank: Either the Skritt stole it already or the Bank Of Lionsarch (BAL) simply reclaimed whats rightfully theirs.
I would think that people simply dont want to live in LA anymore and thats why rebuilding is going so slow. After all you dont want to live in a place where some maniac vegetable has fired up some WMDs right?

I hope my over 4000k entries gets me the Greatsaw skins. It has been the only skins since the first year that I never got. I was lucky enough to get the shield skin. I am sad though that I did not realize they would patch so early. I still have 400 wrappers I did not get to enter. Guess ill save them for next year and hope you bring it back.

Hm 4000k would be 4000000^^
Also I think that some people have put in over 20k scraps and some of them probably wont win anything. So dont keep your hopes too high, your fate is now in the hands of the cruel and sadictic RNG god.

A big board

7 wide, 20 long
Both sides get 2 rows of 3 golems placed zigzag

Objectives:

Destroy all enemy golems
[OR]
Get 2 golems to the enemy’s edge

Any golem can take 3 steps or 1 step + attack

You cannot use the same golem two turns in a row

In their eyes it will confuse new players. Rather they will implement it like: The one who can hit “1” button more often than his enemy in 30 seconds wins the match.

Hair kits! Thanks, will hopefully remember to buy them when I get home.

The sale was planned before the huge negative reaction to the updated gem exchange. Shame that people can’t get what they need right now, but the exchange rate is so terrible you have to ask how much you’d really be saving by converting for this sale anyway.

Long planned? Maybe. But they already know that there will be a huge negative reaction and instead of delaying the sale until the gem conversion update is outside they still decided to go on and thats whats really kittenes me off. It just show again that “You know what company I mean” only cares about the money in our wallet. They simply want us the be mere numbers who consumes and spend large amounts of real money on the game.

I love to kick Quaggans in the rips and guts.
I love to eat Quaggans.

I loved it to whip the crap out of the Charr prisoners, everytime I heard the crack sound the Ascalonian in me laughed.
I actually wanted LA to be wiped out completely from the map of Tyria.

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Schwarzseher.9873

Because people thought that Anet was holding a gun to their head and forcing them to do all the dailies or they would fall behind in some non-existent competition.

For a more practical reason, due to the poor weighting of various achievements such as capturing hundreds of camps for a piddling couple of AP, dailies and monthlies would greatly overshadow AP from other sources.

They are still holding another gun to our head: You have to farm gold or either you will fall back regarding to weapons/ armor skins and shopitems which you only can compensate if you put a large sum of real life money in it.

At least they didn’t supplant some jungle bandits onto the throne, release titans all over the place, get the Emperor’s half-brother killed, supplant a militia chief as a god and commit an act of genocide against the dwarven race.

Yeah because our ancestors were saints, they totaly wouldnt do that. They also wouldnt almost eradicate a large centaur tribe, help a ancient lich break out from his prison and restore his power. They also wouldnt slaughter themself in a no ending battle between wannabe pirates and tree lovers.

So to all new players: Be warned, you will either find your luck (probably in little chunks worth 10, 50, 100, 200 and 500) or will regret that you even dared to think about this game.
If you can live with almost no new content coming, no real endgame, are resitent against frustration and alot of other negative things then try it out. You will find a beautiful world full with fun (which hasnt been patched out at this point) and friendly people.
If not, turn back. Now. You will soon find that spending those bucks on beer or other kind of booze was a far better idea than this game.

Not next year, no. Not months from now, no. It’s coming, and it’s coming very soon.

In fact, I’m going to a review in less than an hour, although that doesn’t set a release time quite yet.

What I wonder about is this: What if someone says something is coming “in the next couple of days” or “within the next week” or “by the end of the month” and then testing reveals an issue that delays the implementation? Would you rather hear something rather specific, like “in the next couple of days,” even while you know that it could change for reasons outside our control? Or would you rather hear “soon” and not have as solid an expectation, but also take on board that the implementation is a top priority (as was mentioned in the thread about the Currency Exchange changes)?

I feel that either answer isn’t perfect, so I’d welcome your insights. You should know that I truly do understand that “soon” is frustratingly vague and I argue against.. I mean, “I gently speak in favor of alternatives…” whenever we can use something more meaningful. On the other hand, saying something more specific can result in flaming “You promised it by XX time!” comments, because even a casual possible release time could be adopted as an absolute date/time/time zone promise.

Thoughts?

Lets hope you are right and it will implemented in the next 2-3 weeks.
