I personally don’t see revamps and tweaks as expansion worthy content. Because obviously, it’s not.
Those are things that should be done normally. They are not what is considered expansion content. When you change a few boss mechanics in a dungeon, that is not a revamp. That is tweaking. The story is still the same, the encounters are still the same, the only thing that changed was minor things that barely make a difference. Sorry, but that is not expansion worthy content.
And previewing items in the Trading Post is not expansion worthy content. That is basic things that should of been in the game from day one.

I’d just go with coincidence as well. Even with the Necromancer buffs, they still aren’t on par with the other professions just yet.
They are fun to play though still. I was leveling a Necromancer using Marks and Wells. Much better than the Minion Master I was trying at first. But again, while they are fun to play, they are rather low on the performance chart compared to the other professions.

You can’t carry over anything from Guild Wars to Guild Wars 2.
The only thing that gets transferred, is Hall of Monument points and the “God Walking Amongst Mere Mortals” title. Names that you used in Guild Wars also got carried over to Guild Wars 2, but that time limit has ended.
Not just the HoM points and GWAMM get carried over, so does MANY weapon and armor SKINS as well, also the Black Widow spider that was capped in GW is now a useable attack pet for the Ranger.
Those aren’t carried over though. They are rewards from the Hall of Monuments points that you accumulate. If you had a Felbade in Guild Wars, and no Hall of Monument, you wouldn’t get that in Guild Wars 2. You need the Hall of Monument points in order to get the Felblade in Guild Wars 2.
So while they are similar to items we had in Guild Wars, they are not the same. They are rewards, not actual items carried over.
I take it you didn’t take the CAPITALIZED word SKINS as an emphasis to the word skins as in just the look with no stats, but I will digress.
But you are saying they are carried over, which they are not. You are not carrying them over, they are rewards from the Hall of Monuments.
You don’t get a Felblade SKIN because you had a Felblade in Guild Wars. You only get it via the points you earned in your Hall of Monuments via rewards only. It is not carried over, it is a point based reward. You have to earn those points in your Hall of Monuments in order to get a Felblade skin. It isn’t carried over.

You have to remember that they had to end up splitting it into three months, instead of just the two. Thus why March is supposed to bring us the rest of the content as well.
So March “should” be a mega patch that will blow us all away (if they are sticking to the whole “big enough to be an expansion” worth of content). So once that arrives, then we can decide if this was an expansions worth of content.

In Queensdale in the southeast, at the Righteous Hoofmoot (PoI) in Taminn Foothills, there is three Veteran Centaurs near that skill point. They respawn pretty fast as well.
And there is a bunch of Centaurs around that area to kill while you wait for the respawn as well.

Guardian or Mesmer.
Guardian are easy to level with and easy at level 80 (takes a bit of learning, but not that complicated). They are also a popular choice for dungeons as well with all their buffs and great at soloing as well.
Mesmers on the other hand are a bit harder to level with. They take a bit of practice before you can truly be useful with them. Leveling is sort of a pain until about 30 when you get all your skills. But in the end, they are amazing. Useful in every aspect and better than any other profession. Plus you get to look fabulous to boot.
I’d personally say Mesmer as the challenge to start pays off in the end. That’s if you like a challenge of course. But if you want to go the easier route, go with a Guardian.

What I did, was hop on the TP and buy up a bunch of low level blues from crafting. Just search for the lowest level gear you can, find the blues, and buy out a ton. They are usually a few copper at most, so it isn’t that expensive at all.
Lady Bethany Of Noh – Chronomancer – Lords of Noh [LoN]
Definitely agree.
Those who are actually a part of that world, should not be kicked from their world just because someone is guesting on their world. It is your world, you shouldn’t be put into Overflow because people guesting are inhabiting your world.
That’s like kicking people out of Jamaica that live there, because they want to make room for tourists instead. It is just not right. You shouldn’t be booted from your home because of tourists visiting temporarily. People on that world should have priority over guests.

You’ll always get the same kind of response that it’s too much work for a minority and that right-handed people would find it uncomfortable to see.
Weirdly Zelda games had link as left-handed until they hit the Wii and barely anybody ever noticed.
Actually, it’s not too much work. All it requires is flipping/mirroring the character. Give you a choice of right or left handed in character creation and if you pick left, it just flips/mirrors your character. Problem solved. No need for new animations or anything. Just flip the character around.
And saying it is because right handed players would be uncomfortable is rather biased and rude in my opinion. Have you ever considered how left handed players feel about seeing constant right handed everything? Have you ever thought that we feel uncomfortable always having to settle for everything being made for right handed people? So it’s perfectly fine for left handed people to feel uncomfortable, but not okay for right handed people to be uncomfortable? Sorry but that’s discrimination.

I think you forgot one thing though.
“Legendary” weapons will be automatically upgraded to Ascended status once Ascended weapons are introduced.
So the whole “At least they don’t sell Ascended on the TP” thing, is going to be void once Ascended weapons are released. Cause then a “Legendary” weapon will be an Ascended weapon and will be sold on the TP.
Lady Bethany Of Noh – Chronomancer – Lords of Noh [LoN]
It is actually written in Asuran Alphabet. You can google for a copy of it, and then translate it yourself.
Lady Bethany Of Noh – Chronomancer – Lords of Noh [LoN]
Like Hanna said. This goes against the whole design of being able to join multiple guilds.
Being able to be a member of multiple guilds is a feature of GW2. If you start rewarding people for only representing one guild, then no one will join multiple guilds anymore cause representing one gives more rewards. That goes against the whole design of multiple guilds.
Lady Bethany Of Noh – Chronomancer – Lords of Noh [LoN]
I don’t even know what to say to this.
Color does not define what gender you are. Those days are way behind us. Females appreciate blue just as men appreciate pink. Females do not have rights to the color pink and just because something is pink, does not mean it is instantly only for females.
There is nothing sexist about it at all. You are just looking too far into it. It is a unique skin that is exclusive to the Black Lion Chest. Same as the Tiger Charr Backpack.
Lady Bethany Of Noh – Chronomancer – Lords of Noh [LoN]
Yes “Legendary” weapons will always be best in slot.
When a new tier is introduced (weapon wise), “Legendary” weapons will be upgraded to that new tier automatically. As of right now, Exotic weapons are the highest tier. When Ascended weapons are introduced, “Legendary” weapons will be automatically upgraded to Ascended status.
GW2 is trying it’s best to avoid gear based progression, though allowing a little for longevity (through agony).
But mostly it’s trying to avoid a gear based power creep and advantage.
Legendary weapons should absolutely retain the same state as Exotics, otherwise you make them an advantage that’s not necessary.
The beautiful look of the legendary along with the steep requirements make it an achievement for those who want to pursue it.
It’s a choice, not a competitive requirement.
Not sure where you’ve been, but Anet has already added, and is adding more vertical progression to the game. Ascended is just the start of this.
And they have already stated that “Legendary” weapons will always be BiS and will be upgraded automatically to the newest tier. So in a way, it is a competitive requirement as you so say. It is an auto-upgrading weapon. Meaning you never have to farm for he next tier of weapon cause your “Legendary” will always be upgraded to the newest tier.

Just wanted to say thank you for modifying dungeons for level 80’s, instead of what the actual level requirement is.
For instance, Ascalon Catacombs Explorable. Level requirement is level 35. But all the changes you have been making to it are for geared level 80s. Did we forget that a group of level 35s should be able to do this dungeon? Actual 35s in level 35 gear. Not downleveled 80s to 35, wearing level 80 gear.
So I asked around for a group for AC Exp on my Necro who is level 35. I’ve done this dungeon on my 80s before a bunch of times, but haven’t tried any of the new changes. First invite I get, I get booted right away before we even start. Second invite, someone says “kick the 35, they won’t survive” and I’m kicked as soon as I was invited. A few invites after that, same thing. I’m too low level, too inexperienced, not geared enough for this dungeon.
Since when was a level 35 in level 35 gear, not good enough for a level 35 dungeon? Seems with all the changes you guys keep making to dungeons, you have forgotten one thing. These dungeons were supposed to be for level 35s and tuned for them. Not tuned to level 80s, like what is being done.
Now no one wants me in groups cause I’m not level 80. Cause now dungeons are geared for level 80s, instead of the actual level that is required.

You know, I asked myself this question earlier today as well. But it was more on the lines of:
“What happened?”
I just don’t get it. This is not the game that was advertised and that we all paid for. It is something completely different now. It feels like false advertising in my opinion. Selling us one thing, but giving us something entirely different. And again, it makes me wonder, what happened to this game?
I used to trust Anet and respect their decisions. When something weird got released, I thought to myself that it would get fixed later with everyone complaining about it. But it didn’t. Then more things got released, which caused even more complaints, and again I thought that they will fix it later on. This is just a test phase. But they didn’t. This kept happening over and over the same way, and here we are again.
I just don’t get what happened. The game that was promised to us in the beginning, just doesn’t exist anymore. This game is comparable to a F2P grinder now. What was once advertised as a AAA MMO comparable to your traditional P2P MMO, is nothing more than a cash grab F2P grinder. I don’t know what this “vision” of what they think this game should be, but it is just heading in the completely wrong direction in my opinion.
But I guess this is where most people will give me the line “If you don’t like it, don’t play it” routine. So instead of sticking around and giving my feedback on features and such, I guess I should just leave since I don’t like the direction this is going. I just don’t get why they did this to a once amazing game.
Lady Bethany Of Noh – Chronomancer – Lords of Noh [LoN]
Unfortunately, you’re stuck with it. Nothing can be done about it. Anet will say it’s a player error, and rightfully so. Sorry if that sounds mean, but next time double check your purchase before buying it.

Actually like the new colors. Glad to see the hot colors make a comeback from GW1. Helps flesh out those Elementalists a little more now.
Definitely going to get a kit now to change my Elementalist’s eyes and hair to the blues. Thanks for the previews.

It is whatever you want to do. Unlike other MMOs, there is nothing pushing you to do stuff. You don’t have that feeling that you have to log in or else you will be behind everyone if you are not grinding and farming everything. With GW2, you get to do whatever you want to do without feeling left behind or like you have to play it.
Right now currently, I am working on map exploration. Not for any particular reason, just want to get it done for personal accomplishment. On the side, while I wait for a chance to get Eternal Battlegrounds cleared, I am leveling a Necromancer (Wells and Marks are my new favorite thing). I go to gw2lfg.com and put myself up for AC Exp, and then head out and start doing events and leveling while I wait for dungeons.
It’s all a matter of what do you want to do? Like I said, other MMOs tell you what to do. They don’t give you options to really do what you want. It is basically do it this way, or be behind everyone else. GW2 lets you do whatever you want to do, when you want to do it. And if you feel that you need to break for a bit, go for it. You don’t have that forced feeling of paying a subscription fee that makes you feel like you have to log in to get your money’s worth. You can break for a bit and come back later to check out new content when it arrives.
Lady Bethany Of Noh – Chronomancer – Lords of Noh [LoN]
“I” don’t care either way.
How many of those skills do you actually use? Do you use every single skill to the point that you need more of them? Or do you only use a select few?
If you only use a select few, then why do you want more useless skills that you will never use?
Here’s the thing. If they introduce a bunch of new skills, how many people are really going to use them? Most people are comfortable with their current builds cause they are the most effective. Sure we might use a few new skills to mix it up, but in the end, adding a ton of skills will just add more clutter to the tons of skills we don’t even use now.
There is already several variations of builds available that people can toy with. And by several, I mean a ton. But people would rather stick to the meta and not try new things. So only a few skills get used on all professions, because that is the best combination. Then they complain there isn’t enough skills, when they refuse to mix up their build to try out all the other skills.
So instead of asking for more skills that will just get tossed in the waste with the ones no one uses now, mix up your play style completely. Use completely different skills than what everyone else is using and you’ll soon realize that there is plenty of skill combinations out there already.

Just a small suggestion.
Would love the ability to transmute our Aqua Breathers onto our actual armor, instead of it only being an underwater thing.
They have a neat “gas mask” look to them, and they have dye slots already as well (you can see this by going underwater and using the dye drop. It will dye your aqua breather instead). So enabling the ability to transmute them with regular head slot items, I think, would add some nice flavor to customization.

Yeah this has been a huge issue for me as well. I can’t stand that they keep using 3rd party sites to post all kinds of information, yet don’t post that same information here.
By the way, remember this little gem?
For the past few years, the ArenaNet Blog has been your hub for Guild Wars 2 news, articles, and cool stuff. Now that we have a shiny new website for Guild Wars 2, you’ll be heading over there for all your GW2 information needs from now on. The ArenaNet Blog will still exist, but we’ll be focusing more on studio news and the original Guild Wars, which is still going strong.
We’ll see you in-game and on Guild Wars 2.com!
http://www.arena.net/blog/follow-guildwars2-com-for-latest-gw2-news-and-info
So much for “all our Guild Wars 2 information needs” eh? I don’t use Reddit, Facebook, Twitter, etc or any of those other social sites. Yet there is so much stuff I would never know about unless someone mentions it here. You know…. on the actual Guild Wars 2 website where we are supposed to come for “all our Guild Wars 2 information needs”…..

It’s not impossible but it will take time to get it done. It’s in no way impossible. With free transfers being done the servers will eventually go into the tier that they should be in.
That still doesn’t solve the issue though of having to be the dominate world in your tier in order to get Map Completion. If you are not dominating, then you will never be able to clear the map. So when the worlds do eventually drop into the proper tiers, you could still be on the low end and never dominate the map, thus never able to get Map Completion.
Lady Bethany Of Noh – Chronomancer – Lords of Noh [LoN]
So with no more free transfers, and WvWvW a requirement to get World Completion (which still doesn’t make any sense), is it possible for worlds that are no good at WvWvW to accomplish World Completion?
To me personally, it seems this is an impossible feat now. You now have to rely on your world to dominate in WvWvW in order for you to get World Completion. If you are not top rank and dominating, you will never be able to access all the Points of Interests. I currently only have one part of Eternal Battlegrounds completed because it is the one spot we always start in. Even after the reset today, we are still in the same exact location. In order for me to get the other areas, we have to dominate the whole map (which is highly unlikely as from my observation, we are awful at this) or I am going to have to pay to transfer to a world that is dominating WvWvW.
So is this it? Am I stuck forever without being able to get World Completion because I am required to do WvWvW and we will never dominate for me to be able to get those areas discovered? Or is the plan all along for me to have to fork over more money so I can transfer to a winning world and then pay again to transfer back?

Well, I was excited about this update but not anymore after reading this.
So much for small guilds. Guess that blog was all a lie. Seems only the hardcore/large guilds are going to have access to this new content. Here I was hoping it was just going to be added as a side thing. Guess not. So much for catering to everyone. Just gated even more content yet again.

A lot of your damage is going to be reliant on your clones/illusions, not direct damage like other professions.
If you are trying to just do full out physical damage like in GW1, it won’t work. While Greatsword and Sword/Pistol are nice damage dealers, your main power source is coming from your shatters as well. A Staff Mesmer can dish out some pain with a full clone/illusion bar and working those shatters, but you gotta utilize them. Otherwise you’re only doing half of what you are capable of.
And don’t just leave your clones/illusions there as “henchmen” either. Bust those bad boys up with Mind Wrack and Cry of Frustration to dish out some hurt. It helps to spec into reduced cooldowns to get the most of it as well. You could easily take down mass groups of mobs with a good shatter build and proper placement in seconds.
As we all know, Mesmers are the superior profession amongst all professions. Nothing is better than they are. So don’t give up on it! Once you master it, you can join the rest of the high-class awesomeness and know how much better you are than everyone else.

We have all seen how well Anet keeps their word and how good they are at going back on their word as well. I would seriously take this with a grain of salt.
If Anet is truly listening to their players like they say they do, then hopefully this thread will provide enough feedback to let them know that a pretty hefty sum of players are against the idea of a level increase. Whether they said they are going to do it or not is irrelevant. Like I said above, they have gone back on their word several times already. This situation is no different.
As to the topic, no they shouldn’t increase the level cap. They should introduce Campaigns like they did with GW1, instead of creating Expansions like other MMOs, where you have to grind to the next max level just to experience any of the new content. Campaigns cater to everyone, where Expansions only cater to max level.
Lady Bethany Of Noh – Chronomancer – Lords of Noh [LoN]
Er There are Skill quests and other things out there that do give you a bonus say +10 or 20 or 50 skill points or more XD
They are talking about trait points, not skill points.

I haven’t bothered with anything major really until loot issues are fixed. Used to level alts, but needed a break from that.
So been working on map completion. It’s nice doing it on my 80 Mesmer cause there is no work to get the next level and get new gear. It is just going out and exploring and enjoying yourself. You’re not trying for anything cause you are already geared at 80. You are just enjoying the sights.
Lady Bethany Of Noh – Chronomancer – Lords of Noh [LoN]
-Remember the old Orrian armor that was too skimpy so they changed it?
So this is the reason why we don’t have a SINGLE heavy armor set that looks like the light “apprentice” set?… a bunch of prudish missourians who can’t keep their overboard christianity to themselves?
I loved it during the 90’s when we told people like that to “get bent” and shoved them back into the caves where they belonged.
Calm down there friend. It wasn’t because of prudes or anything like that. It was literally rather revealing. My own personal opinion, I thought it was fine. But I could see where they were coming from. It didn’t have any underwear and the left breast was exposed with just a few fingers covering it. It was borderline nudity (to some). So they added underwear to it and then covered up the breast completely.
There’s a difference between skimpy and revealing. The armor is still slightly skimpy, just not as revealing as it was back in beta.

-Remember when your pets had extremely loud foot steps?

Shows you everything you can do with them. There is Mystic weapons you can make with them, that aren’t “Legendaries”. But not really worth it (imo) as they are the same skin as the Inquest weapons, just different colors.
Otherwise there is a few trinkets you can make as well that use Mystic Coins.
Lady Bethany Of Noh – Chronomancer – Lords of Noh [LoN]
The answer is simple really. Anet wants you to keep playing and have something new to work towards. Their way, not yours.
If you could just buy them with Fractal Relics, everyone would have them already. They would take no effort to get as most people have tons of Relics saved up, so they could just instantly buy them the instant they were released. Then of course, those same people would complain that there is nothing left to do anymore.
So Anet made yet another currency so no one could get them right away and instead, they have to farm a whole new currency (well not actually farm but you get my drift) to get the new items. In turn, keeping you playing to get the new items cause you have to use the new currency to get them. It is yet another gating mechanic after they said they weren’t going to do that anymore.
The downside to this is, when new Ascended items are released, are they going to keep making new currencies for each piece so we can’t buy them outright and have to work for them by farming a new currency? Does this mean that in order to get a whole set of Ascended I’m going to need to farm Relics, Tokens, Laurels, Coins, Medals, Badges, Trophies, Artifacts, Gems, Frogs, Pistachios, Emblems, etc etc etc just to get one set of gear? By then, we are going to have way too many currencies (ignoring the fact that we already do have too many) if this is the direction they keep going.

I think during the first or second month we had some downtime as well for maintenance. Can’t remember exactly when though.
But it’s expected now. Give it a year or two and you’ll more than likely never see maintenance again, if it is anything like GW1. GW1 I believe also had some downtime during the start and then of course maintenance when they switched servers. Otherwise, that was it.
It is rather great though I agree. It astounds me that other games still have weekly downtime for maintenance when GW2 and GW1 have none.
Lady Bethany Of Noh – Chronomancer – Lords of Noh [LoN]
For one, who told you that you would get banned for using it?
As far as I know, Texmod is perfectly fine to use. Texture editing gives no advantage and as stated by Anet, anything that gives an advantage is not allowed. Which Texmod doesn’t do.
But good luck getting it to work. GW2 isn’t very friendly with Texmod like GW1 was. Most are using UMod now instead of Texmod. Basically the same thing, but better. But there isn’t a stable version of UMod out yet (current version causes low performance and crashing).

Honestly, the whole thing is just a mess. It really is just a ridiculous bow overall. But the Anet logo makes it even worse, and is completely immersion breaking.
I know this is stretching it, but after hearing about this, I started thinking of something else that made me laugh. Just imagine later down the road when Anet starts selling ad space to companies. I mean, we already have the Anet logo on a weapon. Next thing we’ll be seeing is Pepsi banners and Doritos logos on our armor.

Well there is Andrew. http://wiki.guildwars2.com/images/e/e3/Andrew.png
Several other NPCs as well that are like that.
Though I could never see it on a player. It jus wouldn’t make sense really. You’re constantly running around on foot and swinging big heavy weapons. If anything, our characters should be more muscular. With all the constant workouts they do, they wouldn’t have any fat on them.
Lady Bethany Of Noh – Chronomancer – Lords of Noh [LoN]
Because laurels is the easies currency to get. Thats why.
While technically it is easier than farming other currencies, it is very limited.
You can only get one Laurel from your Daily, and ten Laurels from your Monthly. So while the objectives are easy, they are limited in how much you can obtain within a time period.
Where a dungeon run you can keep doing over and over till you get enough tokens to buy what you want, laurels put you on a wait period that you can’t bypass. You are forced to wait to get what you want, unlike others that you can get right away.
So they may seem easier, but they are very limited compared to others. Thus making them harder to obtain compared to other currencies.
Lady Bethany Of Noh – Chronomancer – Lords of Noh [LoN]

New item, new currency. Makes sense to me. No reason to let FoTM farmers instantly buy something others can’t get. I have plenty of pristine relics banked and I think they made the correct decision.
Doesn’t make a lot of sense to me honestly.
They introduced new Exotic Accessories as well, and put those in the Karma vendor with the rest of the Karma Exotics. So those who already had tons of Karma were able to buy the new Exotic Accessories right away.
So why did they introduce new Ascended Amulets and put them only in the Laurels vendor? Why not put them in Fractals or the Mystic Forge with the rest of the Ascended items? They did it with the new Exotic Accessories, why not with the new Ascended Accessories? Why did they have to add yet another currencies on top of all the others we have, for Ascended Amulets, instead of adding them to pre-existing currencies already?
And don’t say, cause those with relics can buy them right away. Well, those with Karma are buying the new Exotic ones right away, so what’s the difference?

Saved it as well. Couldn’t stand the thought of destroying it for a few Karma after the wee one worked so hard on it.

I’m curious about this as well.
They said it was a mistake to make gated content, by making Ascended gear Fractals only. The Rings are only Fractals and the Backs are only Mystic Forge.
So what do they do? Make another gated content. Ascended Amulets are only Laurels.
Didn’t they just say it was a mistake to do that, yet they are doing it again? I’m confused.

I like them. Something to spend my Karma on now.
Ended up with a bunch of Obsidian Shards, Karma drinks, and a ton of Unidentifiable Objects which sold for a hefty sum. Plus got all that Karma from the drinks, so was able to buy more.
All in all, made out pretty well with a few gold and a bunch of Obsidian Shards. Haven’t got the mini yet or any Loadstones, but it wasn’t all that bad. Especially since I wasn’t using that Karma anyways.
