Magic find works. http://sinasdf.imgur.com/
I ‘exploit’ guesting to the nth degree this past Saturday, I guess I should watch out in case I get banned.
I think the listing fee is fine where it’s at.
That being said, I wish they would make the outpost a true auction house with a time limit and bidding, comparable to Diablo 3.
Not going to happen though, since that would require an overhaul of the current system.
If you want:
-prestige
-a nice skin
-the BIS weapon for it’s type (we know it’ll be better than exotic weapons, but if Arenanet releases ascended weapons, then they’ll be on par)
then get it
Once per day, per character.
how about if you guest two other servers? Do you still get extra chests?
Specifically post Mar.1 patch
-Can you farm the same boss on the same character on multiple servers?
-Can you farm the same boss on two characters on the same server?
Sekz guild from EB – very interesting! Looking forward to this match-up
Or reduce the AoE spam in those events by a large margin. Those are what kills everyone.
Seriously, 20+ AoEs scattered on the ground at once during an NPC escort isn’t right.
It’s not the # of Aoe’s, it’s the damage you get from them. It’s ridiculously high that it has to be bugged.
“I’ve seen many posts about GW2 not having any endgame PvE content and I agree with them. I’m not a dungeoneer since its not my playstyle "
So then the issue is not that GW2 lacks endgame PvE content but you’re refusing to do it because you don’t want to.
It’s like saying this game has no mass pvp but I don’t like WvW because it’s not my playstyle.
You’re contradicting yourself.
GW2 has sufficiet PvE in it. Dungeons, both story and explorable. You have meta events such as the five orr temples. You have half a dozen, maybe more zone bosses, as well as three dragons.
Not sure what you want in end-game PvE, but if you don’t want to do the current end-game PvE, then that’s your problem, not Arenanet.
Then you’d have people who aren’t contributing any effort would get rewards. That’s not cool.
It’s up to the guild management to decide when it’s time to start to kill. Wait for everyone? Wait for the majority? That’s pretty much up to their discretion.
I just did the Detha path (path 2 I think?) And I must say, I love the new improved last boss fight. Took awhile to learn but I think it’s a great way to introduce several mechanics other than tank and spank
I’ll throw out feature wise, many of the things we’ll be doing feature wise across the first half of 2013 are typically the type of features you’d likely only see in a paid expansion traditionally. We’re really excited about the opportunity to be able to do that for Guild Wars 2, and think there is something really compelling in that experience, which is really the only message we wanted folks to take from all of this. March will of course continue this tradition of free releases, major features, and of course the growth of living story as we expand its role in Gw2.
All of that being said, this is exactly why we try and avoid talking about stuff until it’s ready, if we say something early and it ends up not ending up exactly what people expect, it doesn’t work out for anyone. Saying something like “expansions worth of content” means different things to everyone, and is nearly an impossible goal to meet expectation wise since everything expects something different, which is a big part of why marketing stepped away from that plan very quickly after asking us to use it when speaking to the press/fans.
I imagine it’ll still get quoted until the end of time, but hope that helps explain where it came from, and what to expect. Just to re-iterate the post I made back in January:
“To set expectations accordingly, the January release will be a relatively small release that sets the table for the stories and features we plan to roll out with the Feb/March releases and beyond. Also, there will be no new race, profession, or new region with these larger Feb/March releases. One of our major goals with these releases is making our existing world as strong as possible, ensuring there are reasons to go to all the locations in the world we’ve already built, and strengthening the core game we’ve provided. In saying this will be an expansions worth of stuff in these releases, we’re talking about the number of new features that will be rolled out across PvE, WvW, and PvP in early 2013, which usually you’d only find in an expansion for a traditional MMORPG.”
I hope you continue to be open with the fanbase on future content and dont’ close up due to select comments by minority members of the community. You can’t please everyone but I’m sure the majority of GW2’s fanbase are overall excited and happy with the content that your team has constructed. Keep up the good work!
Now please bring back shelt/pen back to the way it was!!
The artwork is nice, but unfortunately people take it too seriously. Just look at the artwork related to the January patch and how people took the horse artwork to heart as if we were getting mounts.
As someone who pretty much ‘exploits’ guesting to maximum benefit, I think guesting was probably the worst thing you could do to remove server community and loyalty.
The gap will widen as the game progresses. Those who have gold will be able to make better investments.
It’s the same with the real world. Those who are rich can make easy money on interest.
There’s nothing wrong with the income gap. If you’re poor, then you’re poor. I don’t have pity for you and neither should anyone have jealousy of the wealthy.
This is what happens when TC residents kept advertising their server to non-RPers, and especially when one random person decided to make TC the unofficial PvE event server
How convenient that you forget guild missions..
Lion’s Arch limit has been increased since the patch, I hope you thank Anet!
It’s a pleasant change. Now it’ll be easier to travel from Lion’s Arch to any contested waypoint in the world.
I wonder how some may complain about this change!
But I’m not a crafter! I hate crafting!
I’m very, very disappointed in this monthly. Should have put 5 dungeons or 5 fractals, as well as 100 WvW kills…
If you demand that they increase the rewards for doing the extra dailies, then people will be compelled to do all the dailies.
Just keep it at 5 and be done with it. If you don’t like the rewards for doing the remaining dailies, then don’t do them. Simple as that. You’re certainly not forced to do the extra ones.
Let’s see
-failing to invest in glob of ectos when they were 11s. I should have known that globs were a big part of crafting many desirable items at the time. It should’ve dwelled on me that in the future there could be more recipes using it
-investing way too much in piles of putrid essence. I thought that it had to go up at some point since it’s a rare quality and Arenanet has shown the willingness to introduce temporary recipes. But I totally forgot that this item only drops from Risen – so any future recipes would have to be related to Risen, such as undead buff food
-investing in armored scales after the bot ban in November. I think it became quite obvious that Armored Scales were the T6 that was massively underpriced. Now alone, this was a good investment. But during the patch fix in January, it took probably 2 weeks for the market for scales to react since there was soo much invested supply. People invested too much in Armored Scales. I should have invested more in Claws or Fangs, since those were still relatively cheap
Recently I had invested in ancient bones and two Storm precursors, but I have sold my inventory. I’m considering investing in the lower-priced lodestones in anticipation for new legendaries several months down the road, but I have a feeling that Arenanet might introduce better drop rates or drop locations for them in the near future.
Manipulation, just wait.
Uh, no. You’d need a lot of gold to buy up all the good looking named exotics.
We were having a similar problem with Jonez during the Grenth run. It doesn’t happen very often, but rarely when we have a very large group a bunch of those risen flesh knights spawn and just murder Jonez with that ground spell they have. It doesn’t happen very often at all but when it does it’s a shocker and there’s not much you can do about it. He goes down in like 2 seconds it seems.
That has been happening ever since release – the trick is to spam, put aegis and heals right away. I believe it’s the second wave of those knights.
You just necro’d a three month old post.
This isn’t limited to Balthazar. It also happens to Warmaster Chan during the Arah chain.
The problem is that one of the mobs (Risen Noble I believe) casts an aoe that does massive damage.
When you have a bunch of these being placed on NPC’s, they pretty much die in 1-2 seconds. Players as well.
It’s so ridiculously overpowered that it’s foolish to think it’s intended – it will get fixed shortly, just like how Grenth immediately after the January patch was fixed.
At first I thought the damage was because of the nearby statues, which seemed like a genius idea! If you wanted to take out Arah, you had to take out all the other temples first! But unfortunately, that’s not the case.
My opinion..
I think hardcore farmers tend to have fewer lvl 80s, and would probably be using the classes that are best for farming.
I’m a hardcore farmer with just two lvl 80s and I stick with my guardian since it’s the best class for tagging and easy loot.
Try not selling stuff on the TP at the prices shown when you go to the sell tab. Use the “buy more” right click to see how others are pricing that item. If you set reasonable prices, but not the lowest price your earnings can be increased appreciably.
that only works for low-volume trades like exotics or refined materials.
But commodities like crafting t1-t6’s move quickly and it’s easier to just sell it at the lowest price.
If you get banned, which is unlikely, if you explain the situation you will get quickly unbanned.
Unless of course it turns out your friend himself engaged in shady transactions as well, that might slow everything down.
The safest bet (account-wise) would be to exchange globs, which is the closest thing to a currency other than gold in game.
I also played L2 and even at Sieges where there was over 1-2k ppl i never experienced such lags.
This is honestly the first MMO where i experience such lags/skills issues with not even 100 players…
Guess the engine is bad OR (i think more accurate) the servers are from 19th century.
Or perhaps a game like L2 does not have as much detail as GW2 that needs to be transmitted between servers and players?
Well it’s an obvious bug
People should stop throwing away their karma like this. The lodestones are not worth it – the shards are not worth it if you’re going for a legendary either.
Better to save your karma or go forge some greens
What else is there to spend on karma for a level 80? Especially if they’re not going for a legendary?
At least this way you can make afew gold/get those potions.
As mentioned, buying karma gear and then forging them. There was a bunch of research awhile back done on reddit that showed forging greens was the most efficient way of making money with karma.
That being said, you never know what they introduce later down in future patches, such as more gear sets at all the temples.
Bad salvage rate or not, dragon chest rares will bring the price down a bit.
I think there is still a good chance that Arenanet makes a change to prevent chests from being farmed across all guest servers.
They can even make it limited to account bound in the future.
It’s just a matter of determining what value they want Ectos to be at.
I thought the rising of prices for legendary-type items was becsue people started to do the math on what they’d actually cost them. Just like other crafting, it’s easily undervalued.
the rising prices more likely have to do with the rise of globs (appx 500) and the increasing demand for precursors
Yeah it’s bugged at the moment. Those mobs are impossible to deal with unless you have a zerg that kills them asap.
Not sure why you want to open BL chests, it’s a huge waste and most of the stuff that comes out there is not worth it.
That being said, why would they want to increase the drop rate of keys? The key is a shop item, and they have every right to withhold the supply for that.
Just cause you get 50 chests doesn’t mean you have to open all of them. Just look at the supply on the outpost – people dump that like crazy
Irrelevant that they have lower stats than rings. Rings don’t go in the accessory slot.
If my helm piece had lower stats than my chest piece, that’s irrelevant too.
Storm already did jump. Before the January update that added more to legendaries, Storm was 55g. Now it’s 155-165g.
Which was disappointing to me… my casual self had just gotten to about 45g (so close!) when the price jumped. GG. Hopefully guild missions will make precursor prices drop.
That’s what made me selling my inventory of two Storms. I bought them both at around 140g, but sold them at a loss (I can make it up in a day).
I have about a month to see if the guild mission changes are going to impact the precursor market. If not, I’ll buy Storm again just before the March patch.
I wouldn’t mind Champs/vets if they could actually drop 3-6 items at a time.
That being said, shelt/pen is pretty much dead now, and it’ll be worse as more people flock to other events, leaving fewer people to kill champs/vets.
I recall seeing a champ spawn at the beginning of pen with only 6 people in the area. That’s ridiculous.
The maps have a level range on them, just use that as a guide.
So does anyone know what’s the next best thing to farm?
People should stop throwing away their karma like this. The lodestones are not worth it – the shards are not worth it if you’re going for a legendary either.
Better to save your karma or go forge some greens
I like it when people in the BL forum talk about inflation on precursors when inflation is only in a regard for commodities.
The demand for an item like that is not big, but I know for sure that the supply for that is much lower.
If you do intend to list it, make sure you don’t undercut by 1C. It makes it very easy for the next person to undercut.
I suggest undercutting by 5-10g just to make the next seller think twice about posting his.
They gave you significant time. They announced it in the patch notes. It’s not their fault that you didn’t want to read it.
And removing Lyns isn’t important enough to notify you in-game.
I hate this shelt/pen nerf so bad. Time to find the next chain to farm (I have a few leads)
Good thing I grinded it for 5 months and I got most of the stuff I want in game already. It’s going to stink for everyone else who is behind, especially casuals.
i checked the price of zap for months and i won t buy the thing there is no speculation behind.
some players also proved how people have friends to put fake offers to increase the price.
200G to 500+G in 1 month without increasing in demand is not normal.
What do you mean “fake” offers?
Do you mean buy orders? If your “friend” wants to make a profit from flipping, why would he post artificially high buy orders and cut into his (almost nonexistent) margins?
Do you mean sell orders? How do you increase a price by just posting an artificially high sell order? If there’s any sell orders lower than yours, then your high sell order will never show up.
If you have no sell orders, of course it’s you would try to price it as high as you can. This is perfectly natural.
But how does this explain at all how “a few players” “control” the precursor market?
Also you don’t know what the demand is. Just as sell orders =/= supply, buy orders =/= demand. So you don’t know if the “demand” has increased or not.
By the way, just looking at spidy Zap has never hit 500G.
Basically, if had a high sum of gold like people who took advantage of the early trick/exploits with godskull weapons, snowflake ecto tricks etc etc, i could list say spark for 650g. Then turn around and either i post or a friend can post say a buy offer 600g. That way it gives the illusion that the “community” believes that the spark is worth 600-650g and making people believe that too.
As for a few people controlling, i’ve seen times where they would say no sparks on the TP, then in a day or 2, there would be 6 or 7 up. Same thing with other precursors that were set at say X price. The next day there would maybe 1 or 2, then a day later, be like 5 up all at about 50-100g higher. I don’t see how that many dropped in 1 day. Of course the really high priced one never come down or disappear. Watch the prices and availability on em for a couple months and you will notice this trend. Not a coincidence.
And true that you don’t know what the actual demand is for em but i guarantee you that not as many people as you think are willing or able to drop 600-700g on a precursor alone or would want to if they had that cash. An example is look at all the posts. There are pretty much the same 6 or 7 people who say precursors are fine and i bet most if not all of them got their precursors when they were cheap as hell like 35g-200g while there are ALOT more people who complain about the pricetag on em.
And finally gw2spidy is not 100% accurate. It has been stated in a few posts(you can search for em yourself) that not everything is updated on it. I believe even one of the devs/mods said gw2spidy isn;t completely accurate as well.
gw2spidy is inaccurate in the sense that it shows snapshots of the economy, say every hour. But the data is reliable.
Also, so what about those fake bids? What if someone sells their item to that buyer? They’re short 600g. Do they have another 600g to put another buy order? And another? That’s why it’s hard to manipulate, it’s just too expensive.
Bounty hunt sounds interesting, tho the company sounds design heavy…
And the transcript do not expand on the bleed cap reasons.
read dude, there will be more parts added later…

Nothing is wrong with precursor prices, it’s based on supply and demand.
If you really want a precursor, go and buy Venom – it’s relatively cheap.
