I suffered some lag in new content but since the small server side patch 2 days ago I have experienced a constant 1-2 second delay on any skill that jumps the character, such as thief steal, Heartseeker, warrior or guardians leaps. all maps.
The lag is still there for other skills but is unplayable for any positional skills. ie leap can see me relocate to a position the mob is no longer occupying.
High speed Cable connection, Brisbane Australia. ping and traceroute looks normal.
IMHO, Adapt to what the other guy does or seek an alternative game style.
The OP suggested closing wvw “server names” down to only 2 tiers ( 6 servers)
It would be unfair to delete only lower glicko ranked servers so ;
Close all WvW server names,
Create 6 new server names,
Place all players on a server of Anet’s choice ( for gross numbers balance)
Allow one for one server swaps
( ie player A from server 1 can swap for player b from server X, once)
Monitor all servers for active wvw play hrs and readjust by forced transfers.
OR
add incentives to wvw

I am unable to support better loot for the team with the higher ppt. The concept of adding a loot reward sounds good though. With that in mind I suggest;
Higher rank players drop higher tier loot.
This will in no way prevent stacking zerging or help other issues such as defending but it will add a new “choice” that may add fun to WvW.

OP, Presenting a personal opinion as a fact can achieve lively debate but seldom much else.
Pretending superiority or casting aspersions around generally just means many people will focus on the bad behaviour rather than the topic.
IMHO, if you had simply posted “I would like a non PPT version of WvW to play”, you may have achieved more than petulant foot stamping and trash talk.

If we believe the posts regarding the numbers of people enjoying WvW on other peoples servers we can deduce the following;
There are very few wvw people on lower tier servers, and
There are a lot of wvw people on higher tier servers.
Therefore, to maximise any gain of WvWers following a merge / deletion of wvw servers, it should be the top 6 servers that are deleted allowing a substantial flow of WvWers to the remaining 18. Merging a server that has only a few WvWers will effectively gain nothing.
OP, this same thing happened to my Necro when we first faced “new” opponents during the League. The enemy mistakenly chose to focus my Necro (higher ranked) rather than the gawdily dressed Commander. It was very apparent focus fire.
I simply re adjusted my positioning for the few engages it took them to work out the error.
For those that mis read the OP : Sometimes the enemy mistakes the higher ranked for the commander, it should not happen but it does.

I am fairly sure that ties receive the same rewards. If not I am going to have difficulty handing back the NA 3rd place chest I received upon logging into EOTM yesterday.
While I tend to agree with much of the sentiment behind Lorelei’s post. ( we differ a tad on detail) IMHO, we also need to address the villains of the piece;
Those who make “Voice” such a toxic location that others do not want to be in there, and Those who are incapable of encouraging others.
People must gain some sort of satisfaction from their play hours or they will not play. EOTM meets that requirement for many.

IMHO, The league went too long and for various reasons has not really engaged many new players. ( at least on my server)
It is difficult to motivate people across 9 weeks of a league when they are often decided in 2 weeks. It is important that leaders/commanders work along motivational lines rather than chide , chastise and needle those who are tiring of WvW.
In short, make it fun and many will attend WvW.
There is not really an issue here regarding whether it would be better or worse for “SoS” to lose 2 matches to enhance finish position. It will not happen.
Like many non T1 servers, SoS is made up of a mix of playstyles who, from my limited 4000 odd play hrs spent mostly in WvW, appear to do whatever they wish.
IMHO, even if we had a war council decision to try and tank, the normal diehards would still be out flipping camps, taking twrs and trying to scout/defend.
I certainly would be doing so as it is how I gain enjoyment from the game.
It may be best to leave matchup score manipulation theories to our Glicko betters..

So the OP is saying that JQ and BG have been involved in three 2 v 1s, and that TC has been involved in only two.
The obvious suggestion is that TC needs to catch up !!

Huge amounts of epic skill lag, rubberbanding, crash to character screen due to excess amounts of lag, (usually on first meeting with enemy map zerg)
•What server are you on?
Sea of Sorrows.
•Has there ever been a time when you or a friend are experiencing lag, while others in your party are not?
Some Oceanic lag BUT. Server lag is usually experienced by everyone, most lag for me is on first contact with enemy zerg ie Zergs arriving through portals.
BG and TC play well and work on maximising PPT, including ruins yaks and camps teams. I have no issue with facing different opponents and styles, that is after all what PvP is actually all about.
Hopefully all are enjoying the season and will gain something from the matchups.

I am not sure if * Swag Yolo* is a battle cry or comedy aimed at ourselves, but it is usually followed by either a victory or a run back from the waypoint….
People are getting very confused. Basically the issue is this;
If at any time during the 24 hours the three servers are matched in population in WvW, these players have less effect net PPT effect than the players online during a miss matched population period. ( even fights, less captures )
Posters can rant and rave either way, it is just a fact of how WvW currently is when the 3 servers in a matchup do not have equal 24/7 coverage.
Just as a note DAOC DID NOT solve this issue of mis matched servers, if it was solved it was done by individual servers and player co operation.
I like the idea of removing ppt ( may cost us a few hundred/unknown number of PPT players) and replacing it with points per kill, WITH ONE ADDITION.
The points per kill would be divided by the number of people in wvw on the side of the “killer”. Surely anyone asking for fairness would not seek full kill points when they outnumber their opponents…
Currently we have a WvW system where the PPT is based on 24/7 coverage/score.
The options as I see them are;
Leave the system as is, OR
Make mathematical changes to the existing scoring system, OR
Change the entire system to a short duration multiple reset event. IE 12 2hr matches a day with changes made to upgrade times and costs. OR
Offer both the current PPT and the revised short match varients at the same time.
I am fairly sure that each of these “solutions” would see unhappy players leave the game. The challenge for ANET is to chosoe the path that provides the game and their shareholders with the best outcome.
The lag issues had subsided ( not vanished) dramatically for many of us shortly after the fixes to culling but re appeared for many around the same time as the Lions arch events.
I have a few thousand hrs into wvw but am not a NA timezone player except on reset day so mileage may vary.
The fix is simple. Lower the map caps dramatically and shorten the matches to 2 hrly rotations. no more 60 man zergs or destruction of your holdings 3 hrs after you went to bed.
I agree completely with Zortek. Get on with enjoying the game.

I tend to get horrendous lag between the top of the hour and around 5-10 past the hour. As well as the odd spike.
either play wvw as the asymmetrical contest it was introduced as or reinvent it as a completely balanced zone.
ie
leave the buffs , foods, oils signets alone or change all characters into a single prebuilt gladiator profession that is identically equipped and latency locked to the slowest connection….
( can you tell i disagree with the op?) I personally play wvw for the asymmetrical fights.
I think I have died to hammer trains before, I also think I have died to following a commander off a cliff…
There is an element of the OP’s version of truth in many guild outings. It is a fact of life, since a certain game increased the playerbase to be very inclusive.
I would suggest rather than be put off by the raid mentality, play the game, find people with similar attitudes to your own and most importantly…….. Do not be afraid to venture out into WVW without the guild.
I doubt one single thing is going to change, regardless of what we suggest but hey why not blaze away.
I would give everyone 500 tickets for the meta with the following deductions;
-100 tickets for every spammed “laugh” above 2.
-100 tickets for every “sit” emote carried out on an opponent.
-100 tickets for NOT following a commander off a cliff to your death.
-100 tickets for accusing the other server of blobbing.
-100 tickets for complaining about loss of tickets.
All those who end up negative would have to earn back tickets at a rate of 1 per hour as black citadel travel guides…..
BG and/or JQ should not be punished for having played a game consistent with the scoring system ANET has implemented.
If ANET is lucky, competitors will fail to draw people away from GW2 and WvW will recover from any perceived race to grab shinies.

Simply put, EOTM has changed the game.
I would prefer the following;
3 hourly reset of the match. Removal/massive lowering of the gold cost of upgrades.
The winner of the majority of the 56 sessions in a weekly match wins the weekly match. Countbacks are used to split ties.
Change the matchups to a series of 3 hr ( could be 4 ) sessions, resetting all structures at the end of each session. ( no more day/night capping )
and
Remove the high gold costs of upgrading and increase the supply carried by yaks so that a keep can be fully upgraded in 25-50% of the game period if “x” yaks arrive.
I do not care who Scarlet is as long as they kill Trahearne…
Some gamers login with a goal in mind and play in a manner which they may or may not enjoy to achieve their personal goal. In their minds there may be an element of grinding. This may be absolutely correct, from their personal perspective.
I consider myself to be just another gamer, IMHO I do not grind i simply play games. My 8 professions at 80 were/are all enjoyable in their own ways.

I generally play as a necro but have played all professions " to see how they work".
IMHO, the main thing rangers bring to WvW is as follows;
“When someone discounts all Rangers as totally useless, they identify themselves as someone of limited ability”
I personally choose to WvW, I choose not to do dungeons and I am aware that my choices exclude me from crafting a legendary.
I would suggest gathering 60 laurels if you choose not to wvw but wish to craft a legendary
I tend to play WvWvW, I have a tad over 3000 hrs ingame and have joined in many of these “puppet” fights on a variety of my 8 chars/professions.
I find my warrior to be the easiest to play in this fight. That said,
IMHO,
if the “least effective” players ( not professions) were removed from each of the failed platforms, I would very safely bet that a wide range of professions would be represented. Ranger is not given the best range of skills but clueless or uninformed players are more of a threat to success than any one profession.
I think the announcement of “future” changes to WvW leaves a lot of us in the waiting to see mode.
While many of us enjoy the great fights ingame, the forums have become a mixture of boredom, pettiness and repetitive bile that might be causing some boredom.
IMHO, stay positive, enjoy the ingame fun for what it is and make positive comment regarding opponents, it actually can increase your own enjoyment of the game.
It is of course your personal decision to alt F4, whenever you feel a fight is not fun, I do not see it as a cowardly action as this is only a game, I simply see it as something I would not personally do or suggest.
My gut feeling is that you will achieve an increase in “broken builds” once people read that using them leads to alt F4 and forum posts promising to alt F4 when facing those builds.
Interesting week, a lot lower stress than some of the others and a lot of good small medium and solo fights.
I am finding a lot of the Mags/TC roamers to be a serious challenge to my Necro wellomancer/survivor build. ( read that as I die a lot )
As the beta league finishes I wish to congratulate Mags and SoS WvWers for their Gold League efforts and also offer congratulations to TC on placing third!

Over the last 400+ days I have had the chance to face a fair selection of server opponents.
IMHO, Mags is at least as good individually as any server I have faced. I would even rate their ingame performance as better than their PvF performances.
( always a good read )

Thank you to the BG Ele who chose to allow me to withdraw from the camp before initiating a 1v1 vs my necro. We fought to a mutual downed state and I am fully aware you could have chosen to zoom away rather than fall.

So many people thrashing mindlessly about. It is ok to be upset if you lose or happy if you win, making stuff up just tends to make you look silly. Please try to stay positive and focus on the good times.

Sorry to break up the BG/JQ love fest BUT
Congratulations the 3-4 man SoS BL map zerg, holding our top zone for 3 odd hrs in oceanic last night was well done. ( no real pushes against us in force)
The 3-4 man BG team pushing Nth camp were persistent and fine foes. The RIOT guild 3-4 were also fine foes, a good evening . We did ok and should be happy with our efforts.
I congratulate JQ on playing in T1 “virtually” every week since launch, a fantastic effort by all those who were on JQ at any stage during the achievement.
The vitriol between servers regarding who recruited who is fairly pointless, please just keep turning out to WvW and bringing the fun.
