Skipping is so easy. There is absolutely no challenge in the last arah p2 trash run without using stealth or the boat exploit. Anybody can do it.

I wouldn’t call that playing good, is way easier and takes 0 skill to put a portal and do the acid ball in arah for example, imagine subject alpha without dodging into wall , u really think that arenanet created the script for that boss with stacking behind a wall and dodge into it in their mind?
Dunno how many other mmos u played but for me anything that trivializes/skips a big part of the game is an exploit, u can keep lying to yourself that it’s fine and it’s not your fault, anet did or said anything about it so u think its ok.

Agreed once more, do all of you think that anet created epic open world bosses so that everyone can afk them to death?

All i have to say is that dungeons are poorly designed in this game and anet does nothing to fix it. With the latest dungeon they placed doors so u cant skip but other dungeons are exploited to max, skipping 90% of instance, dodging into wall, whirlwinding into wall for more dmg, line of sight behind walls to get 10 mobs together and faceroll through them, blinking on cliffs, mesmer portal to triviliaze alot of dungeon mechanics and list goes on, ppl will always try to find the fastest way to complete something even if that isn’t what the way devs intented the dungeon to be run, they arent doing anything to fix it either.
These exploits been into game for a year, nothing has been done and nothing will be done.

Agreed, anet needs to do something.

Gw2 pve is so kitten easy that what he said is true. Casual player does not need to care overly much about how minmaxed his build is. As long as he can decently play his character, he could as well throw trait points around randomly and wear any gear he happened to find.

Exactly, only thing that matters in pve is getting gold rewards medal and chest and you can do it even while being naked and without traits.

They are bi-weekly, hence 1st, 15th and 29th October.

Are you sure it’s only two weeks? The release notes state that the higher rewards will remain during the duration of the Twilight Assault LS. Typically the first LS each month lasts the entire month, with the second lasting only two weeks.

If I recall correctly, they said it during the preview. Also, keep in mind that this month will have 3 releases.

And after this month, the rewards for that path are supposedly going back down to ‘normal’ levels. That will guarantee that the path will be run by few. If they’re lucky, it will be more popular than the TA F/U path they removed. My guess is that it will not be. It’ll still most likely become the least run TA path.

After 2 weeks, not month. You can’t blame anet though, they designed story mode dungeon with temporal explorable mode rewards.

Ooze minigame that teaches you a mechanic you need to understand in the next bossfight. CoF3 hasn’t something like this.
Puzzle with electrified ground. Completely different from the mine walk or the 3 torches.
Final Boss in Cof3: Golfplayer who likes to launch players into the lava with his meele attacks and gets invurnable before casting a Stonering with skillag.
Final Boss in TA/Assault: Trows Gears if you don’t meele him. Has a hard hitting frontal Cone attack. Can immobilize you before getting a shield. Shield grants him stacks and if he has 30 stacks you are screwed but the shield can be removed with a hologram.

Srsly, if you don’t like it, good. But don’t compare the new dungeon to something like CoF3. They are completely different. In terms of quality,, trash mobs and mechanics.

But he is right, this will be a ghost town after 2 weeks. People don’t run explorable runs for story.

Am I the only thinking if you are a low level, you should group with a low level?

There are exactly “0” people who think that way. Everyone think they should group with lvl80 when they are lvl35.

Am I the only one thinking if you are new to dungeon. You should find other new people to group with? So other veterans won’t have to waste time carrying me?

After I read all the post on the forum. I give up on that idea. I’ll try to get in high level group myself and hope I don’t get kick.

BTW I have no prolbem making a non lvl80 AC group, so I’m not sure what’s the fuzz about.

I don’t know…that’s the truth of it.

I quite like the Living Story but I also like Expansions. However, the Living Story is just getting started. Today we had a dungeon release. It’s a good dungeon. I’ve beaten it twice already. It was fun. I have most of the achievements.

If they can keep adding stuff like this to the game, over time this will give me more content than an expansion….content I’m not paying for.

It’s a good dungeon path but it was designed as story mode.

New path is very well done! Hoping for more.

Pretty sure Seven Star Stalker.1740 was talking about the Permanent Self-Style Hair Kit (Permanent Hair Stylist Contract on the TP), which is free to use at your command after obtaining it.

It’s no longer obtainable and costs 2500g on tp.

Frankly, it’s been designed as story mode with explorable mode rewards but the latter only for 2 weeks if you compare its rewards/time to most of the other explorable paths.

Worst part is that they are happy with these new cutscenes and future revamps will include them. Are they expecting people to listen to those boring dialogues over 20 times when someone wants to farm tokens for armour/weapons?

The path is well made for story mode. For explorable, not so much. It’s not only about rewards but also unskippable cutscenes.

Just because two builds have the same buffs doesnt mean they can be ignored because they cancel out. Due to the way the buffs interact with calculations they skale differently depending on the class/build.

Mathematically, you can ignore vulnerability, non-stacking sigils, potions and frost spirit because they will increase dps by 61.8375% assuming night+slaying sigils and disregarding all condition damage.

Still, since you advertise a really quick lupi kill, would you say asc is needed/important for current pve, or could I ‘make do’ with food/wrench and sigils of night?

It was never needed but it helps, weapons especially since they are the biggest gap factor (more than 6% for non condition builds). Full armour will just give about 3% additional damage reduction (depends on the profession) with base 916 toughness. Ascended to exotics are almost like exotics to rares divided by two. So you could say someone with full exotics is like half exotics, half rares before november 2012.

Anyone can use food and sigils, you’re still statistically worse than the guy who was pressing 1 during temple events.

Afaik, full ascended trinkets only made you 0.5% more efficient in a full zerk build. So with weapon and armor, we might approach a 5% (or less) higher efficiency with full ascended?

Ascended trinkets give more than 0.5%, especially with berserker’s gear. Comparing full exotic to full ascended, the different in stats is about 6% but your weapon damage and armour is also increased by similar percentage. Ergo, it’s more than 6%.

I’d say Might stacks then take off the kid gloves and tell you Ozzy and Coley—and anyone else—that I roll up and smoke zerkers like a cheap blunt. bring your PvE junk into WvW and anyone who plays more than once a week knows just how long you’ll last against a havoc or a zerg. Frak: in a havoc or a zerg you’re glass cannon crud gets you dead at the gate cuz you’re over-reliant on dodges and no one’s going to waste time ressing a guardian that explodes in 15 seconds. Someone hits you and realizes just how soft you are, their mission in life becomes making sure you down ASAP if you don’t drop from AoE in the first place which you probably did because you are zerker thus you are leet.

So yes, please bring your zerk on in. I love farming you scrubs. You guys make me skill points and loot bags snaps fingers all day long and I laugh when you roll in here on a BnW about skill balance.

Just like all the other PvE scrubs we’ve been rolling over the last couple months. One of the best Commanders in our server is an AH guardian. He’s a hardass but he knows how to drop the hammer. And he also knows why high HP is important.

Do you? Sorry, redundant question. Actually, not sorry. Stopped being sorry halfway through reading page two. And as for redundant: You folk really need to think about why high HP is important and strong healing from a guardian is useful. But you guys don’t seem to understand that dirty word “think”. You just know how to spike AI and troll forums until you kitten others off.

Sorry there is a middle ground between 1:

  • ridiculously easy monsters to slaughter (aka. the ones being zerged pushing 1 skill)
  • ridiculously hard monsters to be slaughtered by (aka. the ones one-hitting the player)

Anet doesn’t have a clue what strategy is and they sure have no clue what fun is.

The amount of one-hitting monsters could be probably counted on fingers of one hand. And most often it’s a specific mechanic that mob posses.

God, this lfg tool is the worst thing known to mankind. It’s my first time using it I already got enough cancer to cover all my organs. It is definitely true that while the people who were on gw2lfg weren’t always up to par, there is just no comparison between the braindeadness I’m witnessing here and this tool audience.

I just saw a rifle warrior let the ooze hug him for 4 seconds, then eat the 90% health hit without moving even once, and only started moving once he got hit. zz
I’m not asking for elite players when I pug, but is it too much to ask for players who got a kittening pulse ? are they even alive? human? or bots?

You should never use lfg before dulfy completes a new guide. And even then it’s risky enough.

Nobody is at any point forcing you to stand there and press 1. That is your own choice.

Yes, you can do it, while being carried by others in a group. But hey, maybe you could make the whole “ordeal” a little more interesting for yourself and others by using you whole spectrum of skills.

Bah, why am I arguing this anyway. I you want to complain about your self imposed boredom, go on ahead. That’s what a forum is for after all.

I find those events distasteful. You are in a zerg of 100 players wearing cleric’s, shaman’s or any other bad gear. Using more skills doesn’t make it more interesting because you’re basically attacking a dummy.

And I’m actually doing more damage than other zerglings by spamming 1. Not to mention that guardian with a sword or warrior with an axe actually deals the most damage by using only autoattacks.

I log back just once just to see this path.. the kitten I have to put up with.. screenshot taken while rezzing a full dead after 5 wipes with people going max possible range, not cleaning a single oil spill and never avoiding the attacks from the ooze which has like a 10 hour build up before it hits anyone..

Certainly the LFG tool completely killed pug quality. I don’t remember getting a spirit weapon guardian on gw2lfg for months.

The dungeon doesn’t seem overly bad, but not that great either so far. The idiotic pugs who complained about TAF/U will stop doing TA altogether I bet because while this path isn’t harder, it requires more coordination with is way too much to ask for, particularly on European servers with deaf mutes who join your party not speaking a single word of English.

You can ridicule all you want but it remains humorous to me that those who are most vocal about the ‘only press 1 to win’ are the ones who religiously preach the necessity of only one stat combination, trait spread and even skill rotation. Somehow, that feels contradictory to me.

So how can I get dragonite ores if not by pressing 1? And for whole armour you will need 3000 ores. That’s 100 boring temple events.

Aah the hypocrisy! Yesterday, the mobs were still yodelling: “Press 1-1-1-1-1-1 to win, no skill needed”, today it’s “Omg we HAVE to grind these armors or else we’re doomed, DOOMED!”

Or perhaps it’s more yesterdays “This game is boring, nothing to do!!!” replaced by todays “Omg, imagine how long this is going to take! Noooooo!”

I doubt you’re going to instantly drop dead the moment you set out in exotics.

After 2 weeks, once they lower tokens and empyreal fragments rewards, the rewards will not be enough. You can do 2 arah paths in the same time getting almost 7g.

There will be more dungeon revamps coming. With this new TA path, nothing can be skipped so that’s why it is longer. When other paths receive the unskippable mobs treatment you’ll start to see the different paths even out in terms of length.

Except that they lowered the hp of all mobs so that skipping is hardly faster. Silver mobs don’t die, they melt. What takes time are puzzles because you have no experience doing them and you have to figure them out by yourself (or wait for someone to tell you).

Was never bugged, it was just tedious. You had to do annoying things to finish it, like have 3 guardians and kite and all kinds of lame crap.

It’s the same thing either way, tedious content is tedious content. I personally don’t want to fight annoyingly lame bosses that are just tedious.

I don’t get what the point is of the electric floor puzzle and the ooze puzzle part, those things just make people leave the dungeon after they get frustrated by tedious mechanics that shouldn’t be there.

Frustrating content is not fun content. I enjoy difficult content. I guess there’s a fine line between hard content and tedious content, either that or ANET doesn’t know the difference between them.

3 guardians and kiting, ah ok. I thought you were talking about tafu.

If you did the harder versions of both Simin and TAFU Nightmare Tree for your DM, then you waited an awful long time to run TAFU after completing Arah p4.
