To clarify further this is the first week we are using this new algorithm. So some of the complaints that are being brought up were problems with the old algorithm.

We use play hours to determine the size. Rank gains is tracked for comparison purposes since they usually follow a similar curve, but isn’t actually used to determine the world size.

We have simulated other algorithms to measure world size and ultimately found that player hours gave us more accurate results because we are mostly comparing active WvW play. The past algorithms weighed more heavily on individual players, so we ended up with situations where JQ was ‘Full’ because they had a lot of players, just not necessarily ones that played as much as Blackgate.

Thank you.

Love getting some information on how that works, it has been one of those topics we haven’t been able to discuss properly, and it has created a lot questions (like the ever returning question about EotM counting or not, which you clarified earlier, thanks you for that as well!)

With unlimited dodging, would people just spam dodge the entire time?

Well all you need to hinder that is some small terrain and stuff, so you have to actually jump up some steps every now and then. So you need to get out of dodging to get over small stuff.

but otherwise, yes. Dodge straight ahead.

its simple, blow up current servers start new ones. Communities are already broken, server loyalty is dead, people don’t care anymore so it’s time to start new servers and blow up current ones. There should be new 9-12 servers.

You do realize that if ANet does that, they will blow up the entire server system, and stuff everyone into an EotM system right away So they don’t have to deal with this problem ever again.

Suspecting that the competitive players violent reactions to EotM and server pride is the only reasons why they haven’t already done it.

Careful what you wish for and all that wash.

Just to mention another case where TS isn’t always viable. My hearing is a bit odd, and I have trouble hearing certain frequencies, not enough to really cause any problems in daily life, but I have to concentrate to pay attention to people talking, or it just becomes a background noise. Also, I’m sensitive to loud or mass of noises.

So to listen to someone in TS I need to use a headset and set the volume up to a normal level. This gives me a headache in about 30-60 minutes. I solve this by not bothering with TS most of the time. I’ll join sometimes when guild gets together, but largely end up just skipping it.

I also play with a deaf friend often

Thankfully the guilds I’m in doesn’t mind, and lets me do whatever. And this is also another part of the reason why I’ve preferred roaming to zerging.

Also regarding the “if you got kids, look after the kids and don’t play games!” Well if you got the kid sleeping, and have the baby alarm on, you might have to run out the moment you hear the kid cry etc. Perspective and Circumstances, they’re different for every single person.

Re-explore Tyria

This is so highly dependent on each persons perspective, impossible to ever come to a consensus about it.

Personally I loved exploring the world and map complete. On my first character. Once I completed it on him, I never felt the need or wish to do it ever again, in fact I’ve become near allergic to renown hearts :p

When making a new character and leveling,I tend to just run through 90% of the maps, picking up all the hero points, and most of the WP, and little else. Just open the map on the wiki on my other screen, plot out a path that will get me those, and just run through it. (exploration xp, wp + hp xp, those alone for all maps tend to be enough to hit 80 anyways, with about 200 hp).

So I don’t really care one way or another myself, but having all wp etc auto known would actually lock me from a good bunch of xp to level my toon with.

I think the best compromise would be to unlock 1 WP on each map you’ve map completed, so you at least can go to whatever map you’ve done. But even that is stretching it a bit.

PS: Personally would much rather they just stopped giving out those 20/30/40 scrolls on b-days, and rather just let “veterans” that have already done map completion and a level80 toon or something with 1+ year old accounts, create new characters and just autostart them at 20 (or 30/40 etc). And stop cluttering us with the scrolls. Those of us that likes making new characters to test out things, but are sick of leveling 1-20 etc.

Thief leveling

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: joneirikb.7506

joneirikb.7506

Thief can be one of the harder classes to level as a first toon. It is super squishy and has no “passive defenses” (armor, regen, lots of hit points etc). All of Thief’s defenses are what we call “Active Defenses” (Blind, dodge, evade, stealth, etc). Which means you have to use them when you think/see the enemy attacks to avoid it or cancel their attack.

That said, it is my favorite class in PVE partially for just that reason, once you start getting the hang of it, it is very fun!

Regarding weapons, I’d recommend starting with Sword/Pistol and Shortbow. Because of Thief’s unique weapon setup, when you combine 2 different weapons, you get a unique skill #3, and Sword+Pistol gives one that is very good for PVE and lets you take on and kill many mobs at the same time. Try it, it is quite fun And Shortbow is very good all-round, it is sort of something you gotta get used to as thief, your best aoe attacks, and use skill #5 just to teleport around faster!

There is no permanent stealth, near all stealth in the game is 3-5 seconds in duration, trait for +1 second. Stealth is meant to be used in combat to trigger “Stealth Attacks” (Most famously Backstab with dagger) and to use for quick repositions, getting away from things you don’t like by giving 3-4 seconds head start on running etc.

Shadow Refuge can give you a 15 or so seconds of stealth, which is the longest you can get from a single skill, but on a long cooldown.

If you want to play around with the combo system (smoke fields + leap finishers), you can use Dagger/Pistol, use #5 for a smoke field, and use #2 for a Leap finisher, and cna use this to “stack” stealth on top of each other, combined with other skills, this cn be used to create “permanent stealth” but you’ll spend more time keeping your stealth up than actually using it for anything this way. Not recommended.

Personally I miss the monthly ap system, it gave me something to work over several weeks (Until I started WvW and blew the entire thing in 6-7 hours). Where I could pick my own time for it.

Honestly they should never have tied AP to the daily system at all, as ArchonWing said above, Achivements shouldn’t be tied to just logging in every day (the logon rewards, and 2g etc are already pretty good).

But at the same time, Most other AP seems to be out of whack, and you have very few other reliable ways to get AP. Perhaps AP in general just needs a complete overhaul. (Boy imagine the backlash on that!)

Hero's & Henchman

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

joneirikb.7506

I don’t think the Hero system should return, since it doesn’t really have a place left. As mentioned in a few posts above, they only places you could use them would be instanced areas, and it makes little sense to make customizable heroes for that.

But a couple of pre-made henchmen might just work. And I think that could be a good idea for some areas of the game.

Unfortunately I share the concerns above about the NPC’s AI. And while it is unfair to compare it to all the existing npc’s in the game, since they all just fold over and die when even grunts look at them….

But I would like to be able to bring a couple of the characters from the story in to dungeons, Destiny’s Edge would be an obvious choice here, probably the 2.0 guys as well later on (unlocks?).

Question is how much work would this be for ANet? Is it worth it for them ? How much will this detract from the pug/lfg etc ? There are a lot of things to take into account.

Only enemies that uses player skills and builds against you, would love to see more enemies like this, would also let you learn skills in the open world to get into PVP later on etc. Lets you learn what moves to avoid and get a taste of your own tactics somewhat.

If the used those more, they could even continually update some mobs and give them changes to counter the current meta, so people have to experiment and change their tactics and strategies etc, man that would be fun.

What to do with gold?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: joneirikb.7506

joneirikb.7506

The first thing I’d do is make sure you are only using 20 slot bags.

Then, I’d slowly (not all at once! Repeat!) convert gold to gems when the prices are relatively reasonable (less than 100g for 400 gems) and buy an extra bag slot/bank slot when they go on sale. After that I’d aim for a copper fed salvage kit.

If you want ascended, focus entirely on weapons first, as armor is very expensive and not that big of a deal.

My path would be like

Bag Slot —-> Bank Slot —-—> Copper Fed Salvage Kit —-> Bag Slot —-> Ascended weapon crafting —--> (bank slots as you feel full) —-> Shared Inventory Slot —-> Infinite Gathering Tools

And yes, that would be a lot of gold.

Personally, I never bothered with legendaries. I went for this:

If going for Open World PVE, I’d suggest Ranger, possibly Engineer or Necro.

Ranger can just stay in longbow (or shortbow or any other ranged set really), and pewpew and let the pet deal with the rest (They also works fairly well with a lot of signets, and pick up the Beastmastery trait line to buff the pet). It’s the simplest way to play the game.

Just for the love of kittens and puppies, don’t randomly fire that annoying knockback shot! It is really annoying for anyone trying to set aoe’s, traps, or just trying to melee the same grunt, when you knock them out of their damage. (Hate that skill so much)

The idea above with Engineer should work pretty well, main annoyance is that turrets aren’t mobile, so you have to wait on them to recharge every now and then. But Engineer really wants you to use his toolbelt skills (F1-F5) as well as weapon kits (replaces weapon) to get more flexibility ad options.

Necromancer can be played pretty well without swapping weapons much. I played most of the leveling with scepter/dagger and had a staff on the other set, rarely bothered changing since the scepter recharged fast enough anyways.

On the whole, don’t get too hung up about the weapon swaps, while you can make some silly combos mixing back and forth between them, most of the time you’ll just pick one weapon set you like, and make a “backup” on the other one. I almost always run a melee set I like, and a ranged weapon on the other set in case I need it. This goes for most classes.

Can Toughness be the Answer?

in WvW

Posted by: joneirikb.7506

joneirikb.7506

With the addition of the hot armors with +condi duration as a own stat, I feel it is unlikely they will ever try to roll -condi dur into a stat, rather if anything they will make it a own stat instead. But anyways.

Toughness + -Condi dur Wouldn’t really work, as you have both damage mitigations on the same stat, making it useful against all damage types.

If ANet was willing to completely re-design how conditions and cleanses worked, then they could add it to either Healing Power or Vitality, both stats suffer from not having a good role.

You could even roll them together and combine Vitality and Condi duration reduction, as well as Toughness + healing power.

But can’t imagine they would want to do that much redesign, don’t even know if they still have rule/design people hired at the company any longer. If they don’t, then they really shouldn’t touch this (or ever make a new spez).

Honestly stop taking WvW serious, it’s just a casual sandbox where you can stomp all over other kids sand castles.

If they are going to redo OS, first thing they should think about is making it open to green/blue/red sides than servers like eotm. So people can go there to fight and not be restricted by tiers.

Level-based zone scaling

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: joneirikb.7506

joneirikb.7506

Having each and every single enemy “scale” to each and every player on a map sounds like a titanic mess in the making.

All the griefing of a level 80 walking around in starter zones, and just attacking whatever a poor level 2-10 player is attack to scale it up to 80 etc. Or if it scales differently, just attack it so it gets scaled to 40 something and then run away, still deadly for the poor new guy. And if it doesn’t change scaling, then 1-shot by the 80, which is going to make us have guild power leveling groups running all over.

I don’t see a single way to solve that, that isn’t better handled by the existing system(s).

If you absolutely want to go to higher level zones earlier I propose 2 other ways of doing it:

1: Just use the existing “up-scaling” system used in WvW and probably a few other areas. This scales the characters stats to the somewhat equal of a level 80.

This creates a whole lot of less problems, and is the easiest way to solve this without extra programming, testing, tweaking, and changing lots of other stuff.

2: Remove stat progression from levels, and set base stats from level 1-80 = 1000 (base stat at 80 currently).

This is a bit more controversial, because 90% of players will scream and claim it is wrong to not get stats by levels. (Not that we get stats for every level now either, but most will ignore that part)

Basically equalize stats across the board, at level 1 you have power, precision, toughness, vitality 1000. And the full health of your class at level 80. The same for monsters (though their health would probably be tweaked a bit so they’re still super easy at starter zones, and compensate for gear).

You still have increasing stats and level advancements through gear restrictions, and the usual skills/traits etc.

This means you have enough stats that you can go into harder zones, and stand a chance, but it will be much harder, due to lower gear, less traits, though you likely with have the utilities you need fairly early.

This would require updating all the enemies in all zones 1-79, this would be a …. lot of work, simply because of mass, not because of the direct difficulty in doing it. And would require a good amount of monitoring and fixing for a while afterwards, to adjust monsters that are too easy/hard, as they need to see them in a live environment to see the actual effect.

Bonus: This would completely remove the stupid up/down scaling bugs with Precision and critical chances!

If pve had enemies like the Heart of the Mists class npcs with hitpoints similar to that of enemy players in wvw, and which have a downstate you can stomp, I would find pve combat fun to play.

I think those nightmare enemies during the Scarlet story which had a downstate were fun to fight against.

Otherwise I find repetitive rotations against bullet sponges with millions of hp ridiculously boring and painful for the mind. NPC AI is not intelligent or creative – it just repeats the same thing over and over again till you memorise the pattern. For a game that is almost an action rpg or even fighting game I feel that kind of enemy does not provide the type of challenge that brings the most satisfaction.

Tbh I’d rather not fight other players, I’d rather play pve but the combat is too boring so I am encouraged to play pvp/wvw for the kind of satisfaction I crave. Note, this is NOT the satisfaction of beating other players – instead it is the satisfaction in the flow of combat, where enemies are unpredictable, hitpoints are low and can be burst, there is the fun of the stomping animation and so on…

+1 lots of good points.

I’ve been playing a good amount of WvW with guild, and it’s been my main game mode for years. Largely because of what Curunen said above. The sad fact is that even the NPC’s in WvW offers a better fight than 99% of npc’s in PVE. But largely I just loved that feeling of danger, the need to look over my shoulder to see if I was being followed, that something could happen at any time. Never had that in PvE (with notable exception of Freddy in the halloween Labyrinth)

Another good incentive to NOT zerg in DAOC was reward system…you would get rewarded based on amount of damage your group of 8 did (so zerging was VERY inneffective for realm points gain, and mostly used by either unskilled people, or during relic raids).

I think this will be the only/best way to actually manage this. Make it Risk/Reward, be rewarded by taking more risk.

Other than that, I expect another problem with removing the AoE cap, is that a lareg group is the best application of AOE. So if the large group gets to fire off, then they will wipe any smaller groups so fast, they likely won’t be able to dodge more than once.

Likely it would turn into who shoots first scenario. So sure organized groups with voicecom etc, combo with stealth, would have an advantage. So what happens when the map blob does the same ? Gets everyone into TS, organize stealth and bombs the same way ? How do you respond to a map blob of 60+ doing this ?

2. Stealth is too advantageous and too forgiving and too unbalanced.

  • Stealth has never been implemented well in any game ever
  • Judging by alterations made since release, I believe it’s far too late for Anet to make alterations to key class mechanics
  • Our only option is to hope that future games either have zero stealth or a radically improved version

Well, city of heroes had some great stealth and counter stealth designs. You can check those out in a different thread I posted.

It’s never too late. Considering “things” are starting to be fiddled with in Spvp, there is no reason why wvw can’t be placed under the microscope either. In case you missed this recent post by Gaile…

“Gaile Gray.6029:

A message from the PvP Team:

Hey all,

We have a number of skill splits (and some global changes) that will be accompanying the launch of Season 5 next week. Read on to see what’s in store for December 13.

Over the past few releases the PvP team has been working closely with the Skills team to implement some PvP-only skill splits. Moving forward the PvP team will have more opportunity to make these skill splits as we see fit. It’s important to understand that skill splits should not change the core functionality of a skill. Players should be able to use a skill in PvE and have it do relatively the same thing in PvP, though it may be more or less effective depending on the game mode. This means that when we are looking to split out a skill, the changes are limited to the following areas:

Recharge
Damage multipliers
Healing multipliers
Number of conditions/boons applied
Duration of conditions/boons applied
Skill cost (energy and initiative)

A lot can be done with these knobs, but there still will be cases where we identify a problem skill or trait that we feel cannot be addressed without a functional change. In these cases, we are continuing to work closely with the Skills team to find a solution that makes the most sense as a global change.

Now on to the changes! Note that all changes listed are global changes except for those that are designated as “PvP only.”

Seems you missed a key part of that message you keep touting. And does it state anywhere in there that they are doing redesigns? No, no it does not.

Again if you want a gamemode that has no Build diversity and limited stats then play sPvP, where you get all that you asked for.

And if they redesign stealth they will have to redesign at a minimum two classes and tweak another two that have access to stealth but not being reliant upon it, which is more work than anything previously Anet has shown they would ever do. And if they change Stealth based on your suggestions I have seen touted then what is the compensation since stealth was designed with the two main classes having access to it instead of having all the passives and sustain that other classes got instead. Are they to buff other defensive options for those two classes or are they to nerf the overbearing sustain and passsive defense of the other classes?

See there is a lot more work involved besides the two classes being complained about by OP, since nothing in this game is in a vacuum it is all relative to something else in game.

And still no answer for the question I posed to you Swagger? I thought this thread was all about the spirit of debate, discussion and objectivity?

+1 Agrees with Svarty + BlaqueFyre

The only logical end for this kind of discussion is PVP system. It’s the only way they will ever have the resources to deal with it. ANet considers this as “Hey I got a small dent in my car, and it will look ugly if you just fix that and paint on top of it, so give me a new car!”.

Elite Spec suggestion

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

I’m not really for this, because new set of skill (including weapon), is supposed to belong to the elite flavour, so it sounds more like an awkward suggestion.

Anyway, on that matter, I also have a suggestion : make vanilla an elite spec. In the very beginning, each trait was linked to a stat. Each trait but one ! One that was “stat specific profession”. For example, mesmer had illusions, ele had arcana, guardian had virtues etc.

So my suggestion is to revamp those trait lines, buff them and flavor them more, and make them work as an elite spec : only third line, so impossible to have them with current elite specs.

Agree with this one. Basically make taking the current specialization a trade-off. Do you want Daredevil OR trickery ? with some slight buffs to the relevant “core-spez” they could be made to be on par with (or at least closer to) the hot-spez.

For Guardian for example, Either Dragonhunter OR Virtues (our strongest support line), though a good point could be made for replacing that with Valor instead, since it might be our strongest trait all over. Make them have to sacrifice something, instead of getting everything at the same time, that is how you create build diversity.

I must admit though, I really miss being able to level new toons with the new weapons. I tend to learn new builds by making a new character and trying things out (example made a new thief to try critical arts + acrobatics, and wanted to use staff to learn it at the same time, but can’t).

But I guess I can see why they designed it as they did, doesn’t mean I have to like it

Still haven’t found a use for any of them. Kinda sadens me, would have preferred they didn’t extract my +5 power one in the change -_-’

Give me a wxp or reward track, or something useful. Heck +10% badges of honor, I’d take it.

5th pip in Provision Mastery grants you increased badge drops on kills.

Yup, but talking about something of any use to put into the ascended amulet slot. So far found nothing I think is worth the cost. I’d be happy if I could just put my old +5 power and bonus vs wvw guards back in there again. Since the new amulet only ones are so underwhelming.

Would prefer “Prefix” myself, to have a keyword to search for, and have a clear definition for it.

However I don’t think it is the most used word for it, but also “Stats” and “Attributes” etc sounds so generic I would kind of have to guess at what they’re talking about.

And a few like “Attribute Combinations” etc sounds strange since we have multiple near identical stat sets like Berserker/Assassin where the only difference is the main stat. And using just “Combinations” runs into the combo system.

I honestly don’t know, really feels like everything is so generic that they make no sense.

I typically have to dig up the page on the wiki searching for berserker, or soldier or some other name, and navigate a few pages to find the list of different stat attributes.

Will "missing" skills be implemented?

As others pointed out Healing skills and Elite skills didn’t have the “types” before. Well some might have had, but most didn’t (Got really uncertain about the signet healing skills when I wrote that down).

And while it would be nice to get some new skills, I’m more afraid that we will just get more useless skills because of it. Say they make a new healing skill for Guardian and it is useless because Shelter is still the best healing skill, or it is better than Shelter and people doesn’t run anything but the new one. I’d much rather they spent the time working on making all the existing skills more useful and interesting (in all game modes).

Heck, Guardian players tend to be surprised if I talk about other skills than Meditations or Shouts :p

Compensation for Copper-fed Salvage-o-Matics

The idea of being able to recycle these and other items really appeals to me. I got great use out of all my salvage-o-matics so I don’t see any reason for a refund. But being a person who hates to waste things, it would be nice if we could trade them in for black lion tickets, or mystic forge them for something else like a special mini. Prior to the shared slots they were a wonderful convenience I do not regret buying the ones I bought. But some sort of recycle program for stuff would be wonderful.

This covers my position as well. I think I have 8 or 9 of them, and have definitively gotten good use out of them. But now they’re sitting in my bank, because I don’t have the heart to delete them.

Would like something I could do with them, even if just the ability to gift them away to friends and guild members I’d be happy.

The problem is;
Everyone wants max stats on everything even if it’s only +1 attribute, to get said attributes those stats are locked by behind time gates, material charges & gold and other miscellaneous items, which results by the time you’ve done all that after spending months getting there, your stats are what they are you cannot change them on the fly (armor stats etc), so if you want to ‘experiment’ you cannot do it easily and the only item(s) that do have changeable stats is a legendary and how affordable is that or even realistic for some players, it took me 3 years to get bifrost.

What I’d suggest need change if you want more build diversity is selectable stats on everything from rare armor up, or some sort of override functionality so you can make what you want, of course they aren’t going to do that because storage equals money you know for multitude of armors you’d need if you wanted to fool around with it, you’re gonna have to store them some place, unless of course you like making armor bits every time.

I’d love to see (and suggested somewhere before), that they remove stats from armor and weapons, and move all stats over to trinkets.

That way you keep armor for runes/look, weapons for sigils/look, and can adjust stats only by changing trinkets. This would make it much easier for people to change and adjust stats, without needing a own 20 bag for the entire stat set, without needing to change runes/sigils, transmutations etc.

Much easier to experiment with new things, test out changes ina build since it will only require a trinket or two.

This would completely replace the need for having adjustable stats etc, you still want exo/asc weapons/armor since they still give the best damage/armor you’ll get.

Initial knee jerk response: “What strategic depth? Zerg moar?”

I think that would just make roamers even more annoying, enough that zergs may go out of their way to run them down, and create more of this “toxic environment” for roamers that has been talked about ? Roamers already does quite a good bit of work on the points as well, so I don’t know if they really need a buff ?

But largely, I just wish they made fighting fun before fixing all the stuff I can’t be kittened to bother with because the fights are dull.

I personally think having the downed mechanic is what does it. No matter how fast you go down, low or high defense, you can basically be resurrected instantaneously. If players actually were killed when they lost all their health points and needed a resurrection skill to be brought back up, going down in the first place would be a lot more detrimental to the team’s success. In this case the risk factor of having so many glass cannons would be too high and would warrant more investment in defense as a means to stay alive.

Now I’m sure this wouldn’t solve every problem but it would inhibit players ability to rebound once killed. As it is now when someone gets downed they basically get brought back up in a matter of seconds so it barely matters that they were knocked down in the first place.

Just a thought on this.

How about having the defensive stats affect your downed state ?

  • Toughness making you take less damage when downed.
  • Viatlity giving you more health when downed.
  • Healing Power allows you to heal yourself faster when downed.

Obviously, cut the current health/armor/healing in half as base values. So there is a reason to pick some of these stats. At that stage being downed is much much closer to death, and in full zerk, you’re going to be in big trouble if someone attacks you, even downed. While that person in Clerics/Soldiers is going to take enough effort to kill that there is time enough to rez them. ?

Just an idea that could be interesting to discuss.

What Legendaries SHOULD have

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

I still think that legendary weapons shouldn’t have the ability to swap stats, but instead focus on being the ultimate “Notice me sempai!” item, and letting you change skins on it for 0 transmutation charges, so you can change it around as you wish.

The stat change was likely added just because most of the players was unhappy with being locked to Soldiers stats for all legendaries.

If you’re first going to go on about changable sigils, then just make Sigils and Runes own equipment slots, and stop stuffing them onto gear. Let us just change them as other equipment. Alternatively move all STATS away from armor/weapons completely and use trinkets for ALL stats. That way we can change stats and sigils/runes independently. by swapping gear.

Why do Silk Patches Cost Mostly Leather?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: joneirikb.7506

joneirikb.7506

When I read the OP I agree that it is weird that it is named “silk patch”. But my next thought was as others here, that the reason WHY it takes so much leather, was as others has said:

  • Huge amount of leather on the market worth next to nothing

So they made a lot of different things require a lot more leather, in order to empty the market and raise the demand (price) of it.

So obviously this is a large part of the answer. That it is still named “Silk patch” is mostly just Funny Trivia. You also spend more silk than metal in making most heavy armors for example, should we change all Ascended heavy armor to be “Ascended H eavy Cloth Armor with Metal studs and buttons” ?

Ranger for the ease. Pet tanks, lots of survival through skills and traits. And despite what the ingame ranger population seems like at times, it is even possible to NOT go pure glass bearbow!

Necro for not dying. Not a lot of experience with it myself, but with healt, minions, death shroud, and very good with condi builds so you can have more defensive stats it can face tank most things in pve.

Thief for mobility. There is simply not more mobile class than thief. 25% move signet fairly early, Shortbow has a repeatable 900 range teleport, another utility teleport, heal+util evade skills that also removes condi + etc. Some great bar breaking elites. Once you get dare devil combine DD with Acrobatics and a rune set that increases swift duration for about 20 seconds swift per dodge, and staff #5 Vault is your best friend in JP’s as it let you precision jump/target your landing spot.

Thieves dies to sharp grass though, if you really don’t like sitting on the edge of your chair, grinding teeth and trying to dodge and avoid every single attack, you may want to try something else, they can be pretty unforgiving for those that doesn’t enjoy the action combat.

Warrior can do everything. Basically put you can make a warrior do anything you want, not die, kill things fast, easy access low cooldown leap for JP’s, whatever you need.

PS: Lately had this fascination with actually using torches as light sources, and looking out dungeons and dark caves, and swapping to torches for the fun of it. But you can also get around this with specific skins. I’d recommend looking at the Cobalt GS skin, my favorite of the lot, and usually not too expensive. It’s absolutely fantastic to use in Obsidian Sanctum JP in the blackout zone
