on this map, red base, it is possible to teleport into the base without destroying the gate. (tested with teleport of mesmer, ele and thief).
with thief its even possible to get into the blue base, but kind of tricky.
We won’t even get any balance changes. It’s PVE-only patches till march or even april.
if thats really the case, many of those who came back with 10th dec patch will then probably leave it for good.

imo the focus of the designers lies too much in favor of female armor.

1st: the title says [PvP]. so pointing on things like berzerker armor is ridiculous as pvp armor doenst have any stats.
2nd: most suggestions to the passive are almost the same as before (400heal/s), therefore this is no nerf to an actual overpowered skill. if we leave it there and make the active reasonable to use, the skill would be even more overpowered.
JP said they are aware of the problem but need to gather good suggestions to the active before nerfing the passive.
not nerfing the passive but buffing the active would be a huge fail.
as i see it, the sustain needs to remain. so the overall heal should stay, but implementing possibility to counterplay and give the active a reason to be used.
therefore the passive needs a bit of tuning down (nerf) as well as the active needs it the other way (buff)
the lower passive, the instant cast of the active plus the rewarding of staying in combat for larger heal would make a good change and it will be counterable due to blinds or cc

The matchmaking gets better as you get higher ELO. The first 10~ games you will be matched with utter noobs. As you get higher you get matched with people who actually know what they are doing.

i think even Anet doesnt know how their matchmaking system works really. I see level 1-10 players regulary (im around top 200-600 yolo queue leaderboard.) in games.
i second this. i guess there are just too few players for the MM to regulate such things. i went up and down from 70% to 300-ish and back to 90% and played all the way with the almost the same players (ranged from 80% to 200 or even higher).
this fact tells me either rating gained is way too high or population is just too low for mmr to take good effect (second more probably)
sidenote: i do believe anet knows how their system works and they are aware of the issues. maybe they dont tell anything about it because a fix is on the line

I just started PvP today. I have done 12 matches as a staff Ele, the class they say is worst for PvP. I’ve won 9 of those 12 matches, had 33 top stats awarded, and currently have 108 kills.
There’s nothing wrong with PvP, it’s a blast to play.
12 matches is by far not enough to judge. top stats do have no meaning at all nor do kills (specially with aoe spam its likely to have many kills).
many things are not really ok. but i have to admit it still is a blast to play
i played much less mainly because warriors are a pain in the kitten and its ongoing for months now without balance updates nor any statements if devs think current state is ok or not.
and since i received some nice beta key for another game im caring much less about it
Well even if they have to tweak the runes a little bit, I think it would be better if they made the two scenes converge. My personal and completely unrepresentative experience is that I feel like PvP is a completely different game because I have to change a lot of my favorite builds to play it.
since those runes are not core to any spec, thats not the case.
you can run your necro spec with any other runes to work really well.
i am very glad that some things wont get directly into pvp. imagine having perplexity runes at start in pvp with same stats and this state would last for months now, since the balanceupdates are a bit slow.

- more variety (DM, CtF, KotH etc ; 2v2, 3v3, duoQ ; ranked+unranked teamarena)
- automated tournaments (gw1 style) (earning QP in daily, needed to participate in monthly)

They need to rework the signet to work like mesmer signet. Lower passive to the same amount with adrenaline levels, up the active heal and give them a refresh stance/banner/physical utilites and problem solved

Lower the passive to the same amount and works with bars of adrenaline (just like the clones), Up the active heal to the same value and give a refresh stance/banner/shout/physical utilities.
900 every 3 secs would be equal to 300/s on full adrenaline. would be too much for a 1s tick, but if changed to a 3sec/900 tick it could work well i guess.

just knowing that i worked my kitten off by fighting one compared to the warrior sitting chilled and leaned back playing one handed and just won a 1v3 ending at 3/4 health which again ticks constantly up without doing anything makes me puke over and over again.
PS: fighting a ranger nowadays feels almost the same, except the cc is less
the possibility to one-shot your opponents does not deserve to be in tournaments.
its ok to keep it as a cheese map. its ok to adjust your build to a map. but to reroll to a spec that would kill nothing but in skyhammer is just too redonkulous for a tournament mode.
maybe if it gets out of rotation the frustration level on skyhammer will go away and there may be even cheesy community-tournaments with skyhammer only?

i feel the same.
the amount of games necessary is way too low and the starting mmr is too high.
i think it was about the 60 or 70% mark where i experienced the most newbies (rank<10) and to my feels the 30% mark would fit much better.
it depends so much on luck (cause one cant choose his teammates) to get a 13/0 ratio as startup. that much luck does definitely not deserve to be up there in leaderboards.
a good amount of minimum matches may be around 50 (if it was me, raise it up to minimum of 100)
if i were on leaderboard tops with lets say 700/300 ratio and right next to me is a joke with 13/0 i’d feel pranked. (which may be one of many reasons people say leaderboard means nothing)
but i honestly think that there is another issue counting into that as well.
i realised that by watching the leaderboard fluctuation of mine. in the beginning it didnt feel wrong. from 30% to 70% it went quick, then i was placed between 80% and 95% – where i feel i belong to – just too much elitism up there. after i recently played much more frequent i hopped up and down like crazy. you know, win some lose some – but hopping from 90% to 800 – 600 – 98% – 700 – 400 – 86% within a series of about 20 matches just feels odd.
everytime i checked my standings on leaderboard it just looks like the rating gain/loss is way too much.
tbh who really knows?? we may get some insight into rating in the future, but as long as we have literally zero info on the rating, we have to stick with kitten ing around.

i would say no because there will for sure be complaints about how unfair it is anyways.
better try to not let 4v5 happen with afk-queuers by implementing a ready button just before matchup with a 30sec timeframe and the main 4v5 problem will be solved.
pvp will never be cured of ragequitters or other elitists who think they are too good to go on playing.

i just tested if shrapnel (gives 15,5s of bleeding) will work with it, it won’t.
should be somewhere near 20 secs, but stays somewhat above 15s
quick test with other condi duration makes me believe this is an issue of the trait itself, since no condition will get its duration increased

taking incendiary powder gives 5,25s burning. with grenadier trait there is a condition duration increase of 30% whicht should lead to another tick of burning.
in fact, this doesnt happen. maybe a bug since dec10 patch?
even with full condi duration runes + sigil of smoldering it only ticks for the 5,25s (so 5 burning ticks) what should be at least 7s (7ticks)
did anybody experienced the same?

there is no special length for the first.
one stack lasts 72h and at 3 actual stacks you cannot join a rated match anymore as long as you have 3.

this means fighting other players on an equal basis (more or less) and just having fun with it.
if you only want to do it to maybe get some extra money you might not get happy here. this mode will not work chilled and leaned back most of the time one-handed like pve
but if so, just hop in and give it a try – it cost nothing
are there any plans on bringing back the ‘old’ tournament idea (with tickets and qualifier points) like automated tournaments or something like that?

I’m sorry you’ve gotten matches you don’t enjoy. We’re working on addressing the skill gap on multiple fronts.
In the mean time, have you tried Team Arena? You may find it more your speed.
I have tried TPvP with some friends from guild. We’re ranging from rank 5-20. We got matched up with 5 guys rank 30-40. If that’s what you call balance… , you need a new system for SPvP.

this may be to blame the ‘entry-mmr’, but srsly neither matchmaking nor balance nor is it anets fault if people play some classes.

i’m wondering why there hasn’t been any dev response for months on healing sig.
i’m not that much into theory crafting and numbers and kitten, but i really struggle a lot by fighting against warriors and can’t remember when the last time was a warrior died in front of me.
they are outlasting most 2v1 with a big smile on their face and even when it comes to a 3v1 the warrior runs away with no problem.
i have no problem with losing fights, but to never have a chance against one class and to know that even before the fight starts feels very frustrating.
if even top tier warriors (or players in general) think that this is broke, why not carify the situation in case what you (devs) thought of?
just wondering if you are aware but still watching the numbers or… really dunno.
i thought it would just be really nice to get a dev statement on warriors heal sig.

…dishonored is a freaking 24+hr ban from ALL PvP…
last night i saw someone with the dishonored batch. it showed off the time remaining time and it was in hotjoin, so not ban from all pvp
the daily is ok in general, you don’t need to win teamQ to achieve the daily completed.
you just need to win 3 solo and the cap and other stuff. it is not so hard achievable. it shouldn’t be easy done by pve’ers anyway. it has to be achievable, but there is no need to let it be easy done.
what is not okey is the reporting system, as none knows if something happens to afk’ers (dev response please?) and the entry mmr for new Q’ers is a bit too high (which was called to be addressed in the future)
you know that a players attitude isn’t any dev’s fault, right?
what you can do about it is to report those people, a dev told us one time to report them for botting.
if you report them it’s in the dev’s hand to react to such behavior – if they do nothing about it (which no one can really know) then it may be their fault.
but in general it isn’t

besides that, if you would be able to gain some XP by pvp’ing, it would be a bit better to achieve
a rank cap really is needed for tpvp. at least for soloQ (as it makes sense to be able to start a team comp with a low-rank buddy)
it is really annoying to have rank 1’s in your team, as you haven’t got the time to explain even the necessary basics to them during match. (i do not have any problem with noobs in tpvp, but this is ranked only and there is no unranked option for them and that ruines the experience of the other players). they are dual-capping, they watch you shooting treb etc).
then the next problem is the starting mmr of new players, which is a bit too high imo. even if there will be a rank-cap in the future the starting mmr needs to be addressed.
another problem is showing the ranks at the end, pls just remove it (would be nice to replace it by leaderboard ranking though). because this only forces players to statements like

i do believe the experience of every competitor will raise as you make a rank cap of at least 10 to enter any tournament.
this is just for beginning and may be adjusted later, but i cannot believe that it is hard to code that players may not enter below rank 10 (or whatever)
