I would be perfectly happy if GHs while being a location on the map, functioned like gw2 ghs, in that they were their own persistent instance that you could load into the game at like any other zone ( nOT like a dungeon instance). Move it to the mist just like gw1, plenty of room there. Close the eotm map lol if need be.

Some confusion about the revenant lore...

if we assume that spirits of the past continue to operate as they did in gw1, then as ritualists were unable to produce the same copy of a spirit when summoned, (no two ritualists, on the same PC side, in the same area could summon the same spirit) then we must assume that the revenant is not channeling “spirits”.

however, summoning and channeling are two different things.

the revenant feels like what they are attempting to do in the series i started watchign on netflix called Sens8 (sensate). 6 ppl are able to access the skills and abilities of one another across time and space. so, revenants could be operating like this also.

another thing. we know for 100% certainty that shiro tagachi is dead. he died in woc, and we killed his spirit in one of the last missions in nightfall. both he and the lich are destroyed.

IIRC, after the ritual where Jalis turns all but ogden into stone to battle the great destroyer, there is text or dialogue that mentions once they become stone, their mind slowly deteriorates into that of a sentient being and into just living stone with 1 sole purpose of fighting the hordes of the great destroyer.

so if we assume that once jalis effectively ‘loses his mind’ it is possible that he may dies.

however, we also know that schrodinger placed a cat in a box and the cat is neither alive nor dead.

i know i cried when tybalt selflessly sacrificed himself to save everyone. i didnt have the pleasure of working with the other two mentors but i just read their dialogues for the final moments of claw island and forgal definitely would have brought a tear to my eye as sell. not so much for sieran, though, there just doesnt seem to be much connection between her sacrifice and the other two mentors. tybalt’s and forgal’s have an intrinsic feeling of redemption/vindication while sieran’s seemed like something a hero “should” do. both tybalt and forgal “lost” something, yet sieran was just seeking adventure, in a weird way she was still (slightly) selfishly thinking of herself, even though the choice she makes is selfless in regards to saving everyone she can.

Game Update Notes - July 7, 2015

Just to make you guys feel worse, I doubt there will be any kind of balance update til after WTS now. There is no way they’ll change anything 2 weeks before because WTS is so important and by important, I mean an embarrasing joke that should of never happened.

It is hard to be supportive of WTS in light of everything else that has happened. Beginning of December 2014: Removal of Leaderboards (ok testing grindboard w/e), removal of Solo Queue, forced to queue inside Heart of the Mist, and first WTS tournament final in Beijing. That tournament for me coincides with the ruin of PvP.

Now we’re going into our 3rd WTS in this broken system, and haven’t seen any real increase in popularity for PvP, or in twitch viewership (which I think is resulting at least somewhat from the December changes). It is putting the cart way before the horse, or putting the kid on stage at the talent show and he forgot to wear clothes.

Anyway, I hope your prediction of balance delay is wrong, but I have learned well to be disappointed after over 10 years as a Guild Wars player.

The december patch killed this game. Remove leaderboards (only form of pvp progression) and forced to queue inside hotm = dead game. Also making us sit at our pc to press a ready button was stupid.

Doing literally anything else aside from waiting in hotm for the que as opposed to Not sitting in hotm while waiting for ques was considered too hardcore and not casual enough.

Guys, give them time. They fixed a bunch of bugs. They need to fix the bugs first before attempting to balance. Trying to balance the game before bugfix is hard and futile.

you can’t rally off the lord’s npc’s anymore, which i will miss. it was a fun way of being smart about your attacks and finding a way to fend off multiple players while taking on the lord

Ya… they kind of took out some tactics. If it looks like I might not be able to clear guards and or lord before I get taken down, I know I’m going to wait for downed state and rally off the lowest npc. Now I cant.

Neither for nor against this change. It is just oddly timed I guess. But still asks the question of why? lol

Go to os for duels or go to spvp custom or dueling server. Wvw is not the place for it. It’s world vs world vs world, not happy fun duel times.

That being said; if I can tell it’s a duel or know that someone from my server who is a dueler?duelist? Then I won’t interupt. If it’s a 2v1 I’ll jump in.

I don’t really condone it, but if I don’t have reason the intervene then I wont.

Smk is a dumb place to duel.

Imy still switching between gs/lb and gs/a/sh and swapping shield master and dogged march. Honestly been running the same thing before and dropping dogged for shield master pre-spec patch and wasn’t seeing a negative effect on condi effects. But now that condi overload is here. Still getting used to running without dogged sometimes. The extra regeneration helps sometimes as well as the condi duration reduce, but you are still pretty survivable without dogged.

Last time I checked… and please double check my math… but… critical power based direct is HARD CAPPED at 250% according to the wiki table.

Condi damage is unregulated and now it is unlimited in stacks.

So let’s simply that:

250 < unlimited

I think it’s a step in the right direction to increase the condition dmg. I think that the increase with NO cap was a bit ducking rediculus, but they should have slowly brought it up.

I keep getting melted by the rediculus 500 stacks of every condition lol. So I can’t even get close to use my 1 shot power lol

I think people are forgetting that condi dmg is supposed to be damage OVER TIME. It’s not supposed to be like direct power damage.

Hey assasin,

I swapped longbow for hammer.
Longbow just doesnt do enough dmg anymore in a power build, maby with cele/might stacking you can do its old dmg again but i rather have a weapon that apply pressure from the start.

Besides, with the cleansing on weapon swap we can miss a burst from time to time…
And when you cant do enough pressure you just wasting time to survive.. it worked pre patch because the condi did allot of dmg also.. now not so sure anymore.

With hamm/gs i dont need that sustain (still enough sustain) but i can apply pressure right from the start, forcing others to go defensive

build: X/0/X/0/X
all standard traits.. only not so sure about GM trait for discipline:

hammer
or
burst mastery
or
quickness

All works so well..

you are absolutely right. i just prefer the longbow since i have been playing gs longbow since closed beta XD

before the patch i had been playing with gs/axe/shield just to spite the longbow because everyone thinks you cant play war without CI and LB. but all the ppl i kill 1v 1-4 in wvw would say that you can kill ppl without CI and the LB.

i also enjoy the uncertainty for my opponents that comes along with my build, as can be seen with my duel with Nhymx (TDM).

I’ll clarify. I watched the GvGs. Only my second night so it still looks like 2 blobs smashing into each other but it sounds amazing when you can listen in on their comms. (Twitch). Regardless, some people love it and I like seeing players use the arena constructively.

I personally support that 100%.

Advice needed on GS/hammer build

It’s not good, no fast hands, if u still wanna play the build, at least use warrior runes.

What do you mean fast hands?

Its for pve/wvw roam/zergie style. Not really for pvp.

Fast hands allows for the expidited weapon swap to gs for the 100blades/whirlwind after landing earthsaker.

I prefer to run the 0/2/6/0/6 for the furious reaction over the mediocre vitality buff that most opt to using, with zerk and hoelbrak runes. Weapon sigil are paralyze and doom on hammer and fire/air or hydro/leeching on gs.

Oh well, as a vet player, I wouldn’t need these buffs to kill someone that had full stacks. I’ve killed plenty people straight out the gate without guard stacks. And I’ll keep killing people please with or without them.

We’re they nice to have? Sure. Will they effect me at all on any class/build I play? No.

. not every class can just cleave and aoe all the time.

and what difference does it make if i have it on or off? i still need to click the mesmer who hides under the clones/other people so i click them instead.

tab atrgeting will still cycle through all the npc’s before it gets to my enemy and nearest target is usually always an npc, so explain to me why having auto on will make a difference please

literally everyone can auto attack at any time they choose. While you may not have your cleaving weapons equipped, everyone has access to cleaving skills.

When you learn how your opponent plays or how their class works, you can begin to predict patterns of moments and use your experience in fightin them to make educated guesses as to where they will be when they use stealth. Has your opponent been constantly dodging a certain direction? Chances are when they stealth, they will still go that direction. Typical opponents retreat in 4 directions, so you have a 25% chance of being correct where you decide to attack. Good players however will use the z axis with their stealth/teleports to avoid your attacks.

just because the opponent is no longer visible does not mean that the opponent is no longer there. Keep attacking.

Why do you still have auto targeting on? That right there is your prpblem, not being able to identify the proper target on your own and relying on internal targeting algorithms when you just want to press 22222222 is not how you should be playing lol

You don’t want Dual Wielding in Arms. In order to maintain 100% uptime of maxed out Berserker’s Power you’re going to want Furious. Also, since the build doesn’t have Fast Hands you won’t be swapping to Axe set so that trait doesn’t do so much for you.

In solo play, you will probably want Strength, Arms, Discipline for Fast Hands since being stuck on Axe for 10 seconds isn’t really great for boss solos and Phalanx Strength isn’t especially exciting when solo. The new Heightened Focus will be especially powerful in solo play where it will be a massive overall DPS boost.

Thanks for the input. That does make a lot of sense. I don’t pve that often so that kind of building is a little out of my area of expertise

not sure, the site works fine on chrome and firefox for me. also fine on my phone. are you trying to load multiple links at once? i tried that and it went slow but it didnt crash.

Why is this a question and no. Having been around since closed beta days and using longbow throughout most of the time, I have seen it go from utterly terrible but still fun, to being brought to overpowered, and them readjusted to be balanced. Longbow is fine as it is. You want to remove longbow and have rifle be our only means of ranged combat? Rifle would need a complete overhaul because it is in a miserable state.

Give a suggestion for replacement or suggestion for fix instead of filling the forum with more garbage posts.

Rush has a high tenancy of missing. So even if you nerfed dmg. Our damage reduced by any % is still , LOL. All the wars you see “running away” are actually just using rush to supposedly get to the target, however rush is so buggy and broken, that it just decides to send us in random directions!

both “never surrender!” and “it’s just a flesh wound!” are paragon shouts though but paragon is heavy armor just like warrior so i guess it should be all right.

My vote would be for “It’s just a flesh wound!” Because it’s a hilarious month python reference.

This is true, but paragon was split amongst war/guard/ranger by way of abilities/effects straight forward in shouts and the echo/chorus effects in the Ranger spirit abilities/procs/effects.

Reflect on whirling axe would be nice indeed, but what I’d really prefer would be the normalizing of the damage level between all game modes, based on current PvP values. I could finally run sword+axe in roaming, although I’d expose myself even more to being called a cheater

No. Pve wvw and pvp skills should all. We split with different values, just like they did in gw1. At least pvp should be different from pve/wvw if not a triple split.
