999 times out of 1000 devs don’t care about the opinion of one person.
Many people with the same complaints get more notice. If the goal is to get the class balanced then anyone with an opinion should voice that. If someone reads through the forum and goes “Oh, well someone already said what I think so I just won’t post anything at all” then that’s one more person not trying to convince the devs; not contributing.
I’m all for keeping the opinions in a set of organized threads instead of spamming the forum (I also noticed Fay did this; good job), but /absolutely/ voice repeat opinions within those threads.
I’m terribly disappointed with Robert Gee this time. Chrono was innovative and new but mirage is simply a mixture of non-cohesive idea throw onto the word “Mirage”. And they dare say mirage is the first elite spec they come up with in stream.
Pretty easy to be first when the only two defining ideas you have about a spec are the word ‘mirage’ and some abstract concept art about a mirror.
Shatter spam is a chrono thing, let Mirage have its own niche.
If my memory serves the clone-on-death traits don’t proc on shatters
What Levetty means is, instead of designing a robust, clearly mechanically envisioned spec first and then naming it, they had the name first and threw a bunch of bad and random ideas together to try to make it fit that name.
Don’t forget that mirror animation from a concept artist they just /had/ to use
Sure, kill a species which is at peace for 259 years now just because of why not?
Oh I know the “because”. Because humans are stupid and attack everything native without a reason but sole greed.
Please go play something else or at least read the lore of Guild Wars 2.
Wat?
Been trying to decide between Holomancer, Weaver or just sticking with Chronomancer and getting way less value out of the expansion.
But yeah.
I, too, have stuck around Mesmer through some really bad times in terms of balance or purpose, or bugged skills, or bugged traits, or being nerfed every patch for the first two years straight. But I just don’t see anything about Mirage I like at all. The few things it does well should have been part of core Mesmer since launch.
Also, is there even any visual indication between which Mirage Mirrors are yours or your opponents in PvP? When I was fighting with other mirages I was just kinda guessing which ones I should be walking into.
At the end of the day I’ll probably stick with Chronomancer, do the PoF story, and then not log in again until the third expansion and hope to finally get a power spec that makes sense.
To prevent people from farming and trading the same objective over and over. PVE players will flood the game mode and play it for the wrong reasons, loot and wxp.
The mechanic is not perfect but I am glad it is there.
So replace RI with a mechanic that prevents gaining rewards from the capture event for 5 minutes after the last flip.
WvWvW lack of balance is sick….
Cool bug screen shot. Make sure you post it to the Bugs section of the forums. Your server is only ticking 2(60)? Though. The keeps, towers, and camps don’t add up to the full values.
It should be worth noting he’s looking at the Eternal Battlegrounds score, not the total WvW score.
The score in EB does, in fact, total up to +260.

Great! I’ll pass an invite along to both of you in just a moment
Had ourselves a Raid night tonight with excellent turnout, but we’re still looking to fill up regular slots.
Have a dungeon crawl (All dungeons, all paths) scheduled for tomorrow and multiple other events for later in the week, including another raid night, and guild missions on Saturday.
Also looking heavily for PvPers!
Or participants of any other game mode
Still recruiting Raiders and PvPers!
While we aim to do well in both (Obv.) , we’re pretty laid back about them. No attitudes here
We’re still kicking up our recruiting efforts.
We’re still looking particularly for Raiders and PvPers, but are accepting everybody none the less.
Still locking down a Raiding schedule, we’ll get something worked out as soon as I fill up 10 slots with regulars.
I’ll be checking this thread periodically throughout the day, but you can also get an invite by whispering me in game, or any of the officers listed in the OP.
Still recruiting!
We’re ramping up our dedication to in-house events too.
We just had a PvP Tournament in our Guild Arena with a prize pool of over 140g, and expect to schedule more events like this (This was, in fact, not our first pvp tournament with prizes).
Leave a post here for an invite, or contact me or any officer in game!
Roster’s still around 100 members but I regularly remove people who’ve become inactive over time.
I’m interested in joining if you’re still recruiting!!
Definitely am, just sent you an invitation!
Got a little distracted playing with Heart of Thorns and forgot to keep this updated
We’ve been adding people steadily and are looking at about 100 members right now with a very high rate of people repping, especially given the “no rep requirements” rule.
We’re all having a really good time playing through Heart of Thorns and would love to have more people join us!
And while we’re looking for members of any type,
We’re PARTICULARLY interested in people who are looking to get into Raiding, or who would be interested in forming PvP Teams.
Id be interested in joining if you guys are still recruiting
Great to hear!
Just sent you an invitation
Lvl 80 condi engineer interested in joining
Great!
I’ll get you an invite right away
[Duel] – Masters of Combat is looking for new, active members. We’re also looking particularly for Raiders!
[About Us]
We’re a MultiServer PvX Guild (Loosely based on Dragonbrand, but again, MultiServer) with a very loose “no rep requirement”. We won’t be on your kitten all the time if you’re not repping constantly, but we would like to see you sometimes. Otherwise what’s the point, really?
We do mostly fractals, PvP, open world Heart of Thorns content and, of course, Raids.
We have about 100 members.
[RaidTeam Recruitment]
In particular right now, we are looking for people looking to run organized and regularly scheduled Spirit Vale nights. So far we’ve been pretty loose on the squad comp and go in with whoever’s online and interested. We’re looking to get more organized, and looking for like-minded people to join us.
[Regularly Scheduled Event]
Each week we have multiple event nights. These events range from Fractal Nights where we group up and do fractals, to Raid nights, to PvP Tournaments with prizes, to helping people with Hero Points, to Guild Missions or just about anything else our members are looking for.
[What We Expect From You]
From you, we’re looking for an Active, Friendly member. That’s about it.
We don’t do super hardcore meta speedruns or anything, but we do like to go through content competently and without sucking too much.
Not Level 80? No problem, we have lots of members that will help you learn the ropes and give you some assistance leveling.
Not Fully Geared? No Problem! We can help with that too.
tl;dr
If you’re looking for a relaxed, laid back guild that’s pretty much going to let you play the game the way YOU want to play it, [Duel] is what you’re looking for.
If you’re interested in joining,
You can send me a message here,
Or contact me directly in game at EnRohbi.2187.
You can also contact any of the Officers:

Druids were also announced in January 2015 during the HoT reveal. In almost every other game that has had a Druid class, it has been some nature attuned class with a type of heal. EQII, WoW, Vanguard, DAoC, and so on. Unless you’re completely unaware of the history of the genre and it’s classes, it was pretty much expected that the Druid would be a healer class.
To add:
They also hinted themselves that Druid would be support oriented when they first announced them, from what I remember.
Anyone who was expecting a DPS spec out of this was kidding themselves from the beginning.
So, what is it? It has an asuran gate, and what appears to be some capture points, but i’ve never gotten over there or seen anyone over there.
There used to be a deep lake there with 3 golems in it for testing underwater combat skills. It was removed when they removed the Raid on the Capricorn map from PvP and announced that they would stop supporting underwater content.
No like, if you look behind you when you enter heart of the mists (relative to the default spawn location) behind those really tall ruins you can climb with a bonfire on top. There’s a small location that you can see in the distance but not reach. It even shoes up as geography on your map if you open it up.
It’s the tutorial area,
You can’t get there anymore :P
There used to be an NPC that would allow you to go back there, but they removed it a couple months ago
In heart of the mists?
Probably the old tutorial area
A timer is not but not really necessary. Your cool-down starts when you place the first portal, 60 sec later you must have placed the second portal. So you can use the cool-down as timer, when it hits 30 you lose the portal.
Have you ever used portal? You don’t see its cool down while the exit has yet to be placed. Guess, use another skills cd or use an external timer.
That’s the whole point isn’t it. You place the enter portal, then the cooldown starts, so you use that to know how long you have to place the exit portal.
Are you suggesting that the CD should show when you place the first part of the portal?
Because it reads like you’re saying that’s the way it already works,
Which is why people are arguing
TBH, I don’t see any practical justification for such feature to be added. Why would you need someone to “like” your outfit? Are we on FB or something? Or you simply need to stroke your ego in some way? Sorry, I don’t want to sound rude, but that’s exactly how this topic sounds to me. There’s many more important things that must be looked, right now. I don’t see any reason for this to be added. If someone likes your outfit and style, he/she can simply PM you about it, and you can discuss it there.
The only reason you’d sound rude is because you refer to someone wanted their ego stroked to be inherently negative. :P
Everyone needs some reassurance/compliments/appreciation every once in a while, this would be a fairly succinct way of implementing that. The endgame in GW2 for many people (Before people argue, please read: ‘many’. Not ‘all’, not even ‘most’, just ‘many’.) is about cosmetics and showing off their fashion.
Remember when Phantasms could be cast without LoS?
I seem to remember only iZerker could do that.
Remember when conjuring a Phantasm cannot be negated by blind or dodge?
iBersker was my favourite Phantasm at the time, so you’re probably right
EDIT: In many ways, still is
Remember when Phantasms could be cast without LoS?
Honestly,
I had the same problem as you about a year ago,
Spend all day roaming around alone and hopefully I’ll get 2 or 3 actual good fights in for my entire playtime.
OR
I could go to sPvP, and have those same kind of encounters every 1-2 minutes.
If I really wanted to duel, any Dueling Arena has that covered too.
There is a game mode that caters far more to the “good fight” aspect of the game than WvW does, and I honestly had a /far/ better time once I just accepted that.
Ehm, so why do you “need” ascended gear so badly?
Oh for the sake of all the kittens. Not this question again.
The WHOLE POINT of the game for virtually ALL PLAYERS is personal power progression. I don’t “need” to be level eighteen much less eighty, but I play the game and level up to cap anyway.
The need for Ascended gear is that it exists. Not what you may or may not use it for.
Erm, I think you might have missed the whole point of the game.
The “personal power progression” is meant to be a very short part of the journey, that’s where horizontal progression starts coming into play. Which has been stated multiple times by Anet (Multiple times) as what the whole point of the endgame is here. Horizontal, not vertical.
Ascended Armour was designed as “barely” stronger than Exotics specifically with this in mind.
So no, no one needs ascended armour.
I’ve been playing with mostly Exotics since launch and have zero issues in my abilities to do anything, including dungeons, fractals, wvw roaming, whatever I feel like doing.
If you feel absolutely compelled to get a full set of Ascended Armour and cannot live without it, that’s more of a “you” issue than anything else.
EDIT: I should add a bit to this before people say things, Ascended is a perfectly fine goal for people once Exotics are obtained. I’ve been working on my own lately just because I have nothing else to really strive for right now; also infusion slots.
It’s just not required, by any stretch, for anything except the higher fractal levels and even that’s only because of the infusion slots and have nothing to do with being more powerful.
(edited by EnRohbi.2187)
considering how flashy back pieces we already have I game I don’t see any reason why we couldn’t have also a capes…
[I really wanna mah guild cape back
]
This is kinda where I’m at.
I understood their position back around launch when things were a little more tame, but,
Anet’s already made this look like any other Korean f2p MMO out there with the absolute abundance of way over the top flashy cosmetics we can wear, at this point I don’t see any logic in not giving us capes (And mounts, while they’re at it).
Please make Raids so stacking isnt possible
in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns
Posted by: EnRohbi.2187
Most of the problem with ‘stacking’ is that it removes the mobility aspect of GW2 combat from the game. While claiming that stacking ‘removes/devalues teamplay’ is clearly dumb, some people would prefer to have fights where you constantly have to move, reposition, scatter, respond to likewise scattered threats, and otherwise engage with the fight rather than “stand here – HERE, IN THIS ONE SINGLE SPOT – and hit your rotations, and we’ll all collect loot at the highest possible speed. If you have to dodge, do it, but then get your butt back to THE ONE SPOT as quickly as you can and pick up your rotations.”
That is what’s tired, boring, and not really any better than a trinity fight. if your stack has to move – if you have to try and get all that pooled boon sharing, healing, cleansing, whatever, while also dealing with, say, constant artillery fire or spontaneous magma pools or cleaving ten-foot axe strikes or Space Lasers or some other junk that heavily punishes STATIONARY stacking, you’d have a much better overall game. Groups coordinated enough to stack whilst moving reap the benefits of being awesome, but if you’re not that awesome you’re better off scattering rather than trying to force “stand in each other’kittenboxes in this corner and spam the everlovin’ hell out of everything you’ve got.”
People against stacking are not necessarily against teamplay, methinks. Not the reasonable ones, anyways. What they don’t want is the current bogus, completely stationary horse manure cheesefights wherein you may as well have roots instead of feeties.
Give us more opportunity to use our feeties, and we’ll be good.
This about sums up my feelings perfectly.
Teamplay and having to remain in close proximity to each other for boons/other effects… sure, great. Definitely encourage that.
Having to sit ontop of each other in one spot for the entire fight and hit 2 or 3 out of 10 skills (most of which are the auto-attack) while being yelled at if you so much as dodge out of position… Not so great.

You’re not serious…?
This game caters more to casuals than just about any other MMO out there.
If this game isn’t casual enough for you, I think what you’re looking for is a game you can find in the App Store.
Maybe Angry Birds…?
Good news, interrupt will soon work (again) in PvE. You won’t really interrupt, but you will get your interrupt traits.

Well I realize it’s actually more like me extrapolating on something:
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/professions/mesmer/Chronomancer-Changes-for-Next-BWE/first#post5383336They want traits proccing on CC/condition to work despite the boss being immune to the said CC/conditions. He does not mention interrupt as such, but that seems like a logical conclusion (especially because if I understand well it used to work).
He also said he’s not sure when it’ll ship or how much it’ll change before it does. Let me translate that statement:
It hasn’t actually been coded yet. It’s still in a conceptual form. Somebody has floated the idea that interrupts should probably work on defiant bosses, and other people agreed that that would be a good functionality to have. It hasn’t progressed significantly beyond that point, and we might not see it implemented for another year.
Don’t count on that being released any time in the reasonable future.
I’d like to add,
There was a time that Interrupt traits DID proc through Defiant, until it apparently was unbalanced and needed to be patched out.
It was super easy to proc interrupts on Champs though, since it didn’t actually Interrupt them it just procced your trait. So a 3-illusion DIversion could proc it 4 times in about half a second while the Champ only actually preformed one action.
You do realize mesmer interrupts are on longish cooldowns besides the offhand sword offhand and don’t work on mobs with defiance bars, right?
Honestly, I’m virtually never without any way to interrupt something off cd.
Mesmers have interrupts falling out of their kitten , it doesn’t matter if a few are on a long cd.For pvp. For pve, interrupts are the worst.
I very intentionally did not argue that Interrupts are bad in PvE.
Does not change your access to interrupts.

Shouldn’t all players be able to have what they want? When everyone is happy, the game is better!
Some players want the ‘prestige’ that comes with earning those hard to acquire skins.
Your proposed solution would make them unhappy.
Therefore even your way doesn’t let all players have what they want.
It is impossible to give everyone everything they want.
So far this game has catered heavily towards the casual players, it might be time for there to be a couple things that you won’t have an easy time getting.
>plans to basically ignore
>writes 251 word responseThe fact that you actually googled a word count tool and used one just to belittle a person speaks loads more about you than it does about them.
I counted visually. Do you even internet argument bro?
That’s like ten times worse, man :P
The point is the amount of effort you’re going to for nothing but shutting someone down. You didn’t post this thread with any constructive purpose, you posted it to be combative and argue with everyone who -IguessIneedsomethingbetweenthesewords- responds.
>plans to basically ignore
>writes 251 word response
The fact that you actually googled a word count tool and used one just to belittle a person speaks loads more about you than it does about them.
Personally,
Even in a shatter build I’d take Phantasmal Fury, they usually get the first attack off and that’ll do more for your burst damage in a Burst Damage Focused Build.
I’ve never felt a need to use Desperate Decoy since launch and I don’t feel like I’m missing much.
I’m honestly not a fan of any of the “At X% health, have this happen” traits on any class.
WITH THAT SAID,
I do agree that things shouldn’t interrupt you unless it’s something that you make the choice to cast. You shouldn’t just lose the skill you’re casting because situations outside of your control happened.

Why is there always one person who doesn’t want a quality of life improvement?
Because people are spiteful and will argue with anything to make themselves feel better.
And for QoL implementations, they know they can hide behind the almighty “If they spend resources developing this they aren’t spending resources making actual content” argument regardless of if they believe it.
They don’t actually disagree with quality of life improvments, they just don’t want someone who isn’t them to have a good idea.
Would like to see area net balance the game!

The few times i tried to do dugeouns that was what they wanted and it was posted on the LFG , beserlers, experienced 80, lol path????
Then there’s no problem I’m seeing. Just do the following:
It’s remarkable how many people haven’t realized you can just advertise your own party and ask for whatever you want.
I post for ‘casual’ or ‘relaxed’ runs everytime I use the LFG,
literally the only time there’s a problem is when some kitten merges parties.
I am for removing the anvil… And a short cooldown after exiting(say 5 minutes)
Having an anvil allows you to bang your head into a wall infinitely until the wall cracks. If there are waypoints inside of the raid and an anvil, it will be beaten within a few hours for the first ever try. Unless anet puts in place things to stop players from grinding their way to victory, players WILL grind their way to victory
Yes, yes, let’s make raids even more about putting up with annoyances. Only those with TRUE patience should be rewarded!
It’s not about annoyance,
It’s about forcing players to play properly and not just throw themselves at encounters for hours until they win.
Removing anvils puts a ‘lose’ condition on instances (All your armor is broken), which means if your party sucks, you will actually fail. Something that only happens now if your party runs out of patience.
Remember when you could actually lose at video games?
The concept of ‘game over’ is barely existent anymore

I agree with this, though it’s kind of a different topic altogether. :P
But I’ve long been of the opinion that having repair anvils in dungeons make them far too easy to just brute force your way through. If there are no anvils there’s at least a “game over” clause somewhere.
Honestly, I’d rather see them useable. :P
Like Pukc said, if the Raid encounters are well designed it’d be hard to even use a res orb safely, and up until now there’s really no reason to even have them.
I’ve had a few sitting in my bank since launch,
I think one time I died intentionally just so I could use one and see what it’s like,
Otherwise it’s pretty much a waste of an item :P
I always wanted Null Field to be something like this skill (from an MMO i played in the past), basically removing hostile AoEs and further preventing enemy’s AoEs for a short period of time.
Gasp! Raganarok Online! I would say something like Pneuma and Quagmire or Kyrie Eleison will be so cool as a mesmer skill.
I’m entirely on board with Mesmers getting any Acolyte skills from RO. :P
Pneuma would be pretty cool, but pretty much already exists as Smoke Screen on thieves, and we already have a million and two ways to deal with projectiles.
I would love Land Protector though. It would go a long way to preventing nuking AoEs on capture points in PvP, and would also give mesmer some counterplay to people using AoE’s to kill all their clones
[Duel] – Masters of Combat is rebuilding and looking for members to get in on the ground floor!
Having been established on Guild Wars 2 three years ago, Duel grew into a major player on the Dragonbrand server with a full 500 member roster running across every game mode available.
Well, that was a long time ago.
Today,
We’re a group of about 30 members looking to rebuild ourselves from the ground up (And I mean the ground), while still maintaining the image this guild was founded on. We’re aiming to be a laid back guild with people who want to play the game well and experience everything GW2 has to offer, but without any of the pressure associated with those other guilds.
You could consider us somewhere between “Casual-to-Semi-Hardcore”.
We’re based on DRAGONBRAND, but we welcome people from any server!
Our Goal?
—We want to get back into the routine of doing Guild Missions
—A healthy dungeon/fractal running population
—Get ready for Raids
—PvP Teams!
—Secondary participation in WvW
-As a guild welcoming members from any server, participation in WvW will never be mandatory!
Some things:
—We’re accepting of people from every server,
-Though if you want to WvW with us, our home will forever be on Dragonbrand.
—Got other guilds? No problem! We do NOT enforce mandatory repping, though we would like to see you from time to time.
-Otherwise, what’s the point?
Have Questions?
Want an invite?
Feel free to respond to this thread, or contact me directly in game @ EnRohbi.2187 and I will get back to you at the very earliest convenience!
New and Free Players Welcome!
As well not sure if this is true or not since it’s on the wiki which can be edited, but it did say that HoT will be sold for 2,400 gems. I’ll leave the link at the bottom for you all to check out I have a feeling it’s wrong though.
Hopefully any of this or even just some of this helps you all.

Wow,
The wording on that is super ambiguous, haha.
That’s just the HoT version of the already-existant Digital Deluxe Upgrade option in the gem store.
Note on the wiki it says it requires HoT Standard
EDIT: To add, pretty sure Anet’s explicitly stated they won’t sell HoT for gems. Not gonna find the quote, just putting it out there~
(edited by EnRohbi.2187)
The lack of Canadian retailers for this right now is kind of ridiculous. :/
Until recently I didn’t have a credit card and using paypal in Canada from a bank account is pretty much the worst thing (Off the top of my head, I’m not even sure if you can Paypal things from the gemstore),
I imagine there are people out there literally (figuratively) barred off from purchasing Heart of Thorns at all if they’re bottlenecked into buying it digitally, not even considering the exchange rate which is also kinda dumb right now.
You should look into Shatter builds, (Albeit, they don’t have Chronomancy in them as it’s not released yet),
They’re pretty much exactly what you’re describing, and yes, they are viable.
They are, in fact, one of the most viable builds we’ve had, and a staple for our profression since launch.
With that said, they usually take the Dueling line for Deceptive Evasion. The clone generation from that is unmatched for shatter builds, it’s less required for other builds.
If I were to theorycraft Chronomancer shatter builds (I haven’t played any BWE’s yet for hands-on experience), I’d recommend Chrono/Dom/Dueling instead of Illusions. The most important part of the Illusion specialization used to be Illusionary Persona, which is now just something you get automatically.
PS: “Kitten” is the word Anet censores everything with. Somewhere in your post you typed something their swearing-filter caught. And yes, it is incredibly obtrusive and will flag words that you had absolutely no intention of being vulgar.
I definitely like the idea of giving a viable alternative to DE in another trait line.
The biggest I see with giving every trait line access to huge clone generation like that is that then every mesmer build would have access to three illusion generation traits in every build.
While, obviously, they’d still have to actually take the trait, it would be way over the top for builds to be running DE in Dueling, Hallucination in Domination and Descent Into Madness in Chaos (To use the examples from the OP).
The illusion generation if someone took all three would be outrageous. Not to mention the huge amount of redundancy by having the same function preformed by every line.
What I would suggest is they add /one/ new Illusion Generation trait that is as viable as DE, but maybe in Inspiration or Chaos, two lines that aren’t designed to synergize quite as well with Dueling as Domination and Illusions are.
I feel like Anet is scaling back on hard copy distribution.
That official retailer list is crazy small, and some major countries entirely left out. (There are no retailers in Canada for Guild Wars 2 anymore, for example. It’s not even on the dropdown list).
