Just DCed at the end of Hearts and Minds, after completing it.

No credit was given.

Popping in to say I have a 64-bit machine and STILL crashed when using the 64-bit client.

Also going to throw out I’ve done recent betas that were much more CPU and GPU and RAM hogging………. and they had stable clients.

This crashing issue with a fully released game is ridiculous.

I have crashed 4 out of the 5 times I’ve been to Dragon’s Stand, and twice when the map had successfully completed the meta.

That I can’t get back in is a ridiculous mechanic.

And yes, I have tried using the 64-bit client – still crashed… after it tried to gobble up all 8GB of my ram. I’m not exactly what you would call a happy customer right now. These issues are ridiculous and why I kept harping for a longer beta. I actually WAITED to delve into HoT because of the bugs being reported – I thought at least something as serious as client crashing would be fixed by now.

At least make it so those who crashed have their spots reserved so they can get back in, and can get back into a completed map.

I’ve since been able to, but it was weiiiiiiiiiiiiiird….. wouldn’t let me until I logged in on the forums.

I’m a co-leader of a brand spankin’ new PvE guild, The Eternal Mist [THEM].

We’re small, we’re friendly, and we (mostly) genuinely enjoy interacting with other hooominz.

Might I ask what times you play? The majority of our members are Oceanic and NA nightowls – with the exception of myself, I can be found at almost all times of day lol.

Because of how new we are, we do not currently have a set schedule, but are considering only running Sunday – Thursday (NA) and only a few hours at a time, so that WvWers and PvPers are freed up. It’s important to note that we do not require 100% rep – just join us for activities.

If you do join, and if you do wvw, I promise I will try not to hold your server against you.

The Eternal Mist [THEM] is a brand spankin’ new PVE guild with a whopping 11 members. We were formed by a group of Veteran players and longtime friends who, while loving our social guilds, just wanted something more structured to run with to farm that glorious gold.

We are addicted to dungeons and are willing to mold new minions in our image errr teach them.

As we are so new, our schedule isn’t made up yet. Still working out some kinks. Many of our members are Oceanic, so as you’re an NA player I’m going to tell you now that if you aren’t a nightowl you will be horribly lonely.

We DO NOT have a rep requirement!! Only requirements are to get gud and rep during our activities. And it’s worth mentioning that Friday and Saturday (NA) are not going to be on the schedule – that’s prime WvW time.

Future plans include expanding to Fractals, Organized Silverwastes and taking over World Boss commanding when we have the member base to manage that.

PS must be comfortable with mature content and able to laugh at kitten moments. And currently do not have a “proper” VoIP set up – we’re using skype and typing.

All I know is my server spent a month getting steamrolled in T3. People left, and now we’re struggling in T5.

By our second loss we should have been back in T4 but no, we weren’t, courtesy of the match up system.

Fights that test your mettle and skill are great and all……… be it because you’re simply outnumbered or horrendously outclassed or both, but for it to be bad enough for players to leave WvW is just ridiculous. You can siege disable up the wazoo but 5 people aren’t a match for 50!

Hi Aeniklast! My PvE guild is just starting out (no set schedule), so I doubt you’d be interested, but I’d be glad to dungeon with you.

I’ve been playing (consistently) since at least August of last year and normally run my ranger. I can do all AC paths in my sleep, but am utterly hopeless with Lupi if you do Arah.

Sorry for the late reply, but no, he wasn’t kicked at the last boss. He joined just after Lupi and only participated for the boss after that.

Just this evening another player threatened to have his guild report me (in what category, I wouldn’t know), because this player was kicked from my party during a dungeon run, because, quite frankly, he was saying insulting the DPS of three party members, including myself, and I was not in the mood to put up with it.

This player also stated that his guild has done the same to at least 3 other guild wars players, for assumedly the same reason.

Now, being the slave to your game that I am, this naturally has me worried. Aside from taking screenshots, is there anything else that a dedicated drone such as myself can do to protect themselves from a grudge holder?

I adore this idea. Random roamers would play a strategic part in disrupting supply lines and it would encourage dolyak escorting.

For example: An enemy just captured a camp and a tower. One of their dolyaks is on it’s merry meandering way to give them supply that they most likely desperately need. If your team flips the sentry in that supply line, they would be cut off.

On the flip side, they can do that same to you. Therefore, sentries would serve to do more than track enemy movement on a map.

More: what happens if some one is playing an uplevel that prevents the defenders to spawn?

Population imbalance should be solved by having the same playing force on all the server, not by scaling tricks that could be abused or lead to toxicity between players

And even that, you can’t be sure of balance, but alas this is 24/7 open world. You can’t have balance all the time.

I would treat all level characters the same. Pop is pop.

Um, sliding scale would handle reinforcements. And wouldn’t completely ruin the lack of balance.

As for abuse, map hopping could be locked for x amount of minutes. Or they could implement “travel time”.

Alas, ANet does not appear interested in adjusting server pops. This post was inspired by this weeks match-up. The disparities are atrocious and simply not fun.

It is also glaringly obvious that another thing needs to be stressed.

We are full of shenanigans. They aren’t meant to be perceived as malicious, but if you can’t handle randomness then we are simply not the guild for you.

Don’t worry, not trying us out won’t hurt our feelings. We know we aren’t for everyone.

And why would high go to very high – clearly a reset to very high for all. Not sure why though…..

We just had trial weekend and a 50% sale. New players, who couldnt get into the full servers, chose the high servers.

I doubt they all picked the high servers – unless they were locked to those…. I would give this credence if some went from high to very high, but every single server going to very high seems like all were set to a default “very high”…

And this is why, because of the megaserver, I believe that servers should be listed according to their WvW ranking and should be locked from entry after a certain point.

While I chose mine because friends played on it, if I hadn’t followed them on (didn’t have an interest in WvW at the time) I would have chosen based on prettiest name.

Hear that Crystal Desert? You were almost stuck with my shenanigans.

Please note that I am not suggesting that Legendaries be tossed on when a map is outnumbered by more than one player – more like 5~7+, to be decided by the devs who have access to boatloads of information that they can pull stats and averages from and analyze for trends.

In my opinion it’s an easy-to-implement fix for the population imbalances and would result in more competitive WvWvW, partly because people would be encouraged to work together to wreck those suckers.

So far this is “about a match up” because people are speaking about it in those terms.

Don’t use server names and the thread won’t be closed. It’s that simple.

One of the ways this could be fixed is to have a sliding scale for the cost of a server transfer – and instead of it being based on population, to base it on how well that server performs in WvW.

Probably because people would QQ about not being on the top server…

Because they don’t stop to think that if they join a lower tier server, that they could be the change that boosts it to the top.

Quite frankly, people don’t care about being competitive when it comes to PPT. They seem to only care about the “easy wins” – that is, the server that pulls ahead by 50k points on the weekends.

But hey, with how people are being raised today – ie, getting a medal for just participating in RL – I can’t say I’m surprised. It’s created a generation of entitled feeling bums who hitch rides on the coattails of others.

More communication would be great – there are a handful of commanders who don’t ping spots on the map.

That said, scouts/roamers need to update in map chat as well. Oh, you just saw a huge zerg steamrolling down to your commander? LET THEM KNOW!

To quote Mulan: “A single grain of rice can tip the scale.”

Also, it’s worth noting that many servers have a TS dedicated to WvW. I don’t have any sympathy for those who complain about lack of communication when the Commander is on TS. Downloading a teensy tiny free program and listening can be the difference between victory and defeat.
