This is all I got; I stopped caring about halfway through these changes since I know they will just make some weird kitten buff like making spectral armor 30s cooldown instead of 40s or whatever it is now, or making our auto attack do like 100 more damage.
Basically, there are 3 themes; boons, chill and PvE. I have also changed the chill aspect of reaper to be debilitating rather than damage oriented since scourge will be the damage aspect of necromancer.
We cannot run power necromancer competitively because WE HAVE NO DEFENSE!!!! We also have zero useful utility skills that any good power class requires, such as blinks/teleports. We also do not do enough damage. Did you know a mesmer can get over 85% damage buffs and insta-down even an (unaware) 20K HP bunker guard? Yet despite how glass a mesmer has to build to do this… THEY STILL HAVE MORE DEFENSES THAN NECROMANCERS.
For the love of kitten make some useful changes for once. I do not like the playstyle of scourge. Don’t make me leave this game… please -__-

Are you guys on kittening crack cocaine? Once scourge comes out the signet of skill will be able to inflict 9 conditions by pressing a single kittening button. 60 seconds is fine and many skills in this game should have their cooldowns increased. Passive traits like the engi elixir S passive should have like a 5 minute cooldown to only be viable in a single encounter.
Ya sure, make signet of skill 30s cooldown… why not lmfao. Buff everything!! /trolol
Been playing necromancer since release and I’ve never – not even once – accidentally double tapped shroud because never in any circumstance ever is there ever any reason to do it, ever. Even when the server is lagging like in WvW during a massive battle, shroud still works (most of the time)
The only time I ever double tapped shroud was on purpose a few years back when things were more balanced and I liked to use Foot in the Grave for stability to cover my heal.

Yes it eats the self vuln if untraited (slight delay after heal skill) and eats the blind if traited with master of corruptions.

Yeah flow I’m sure you also know as you’ve been here a while but not even exaggerating… 90% of necros don’t actually know how to play the class (including the devs unfortunately…)
I practically never used that trait and could give less of a kitten about it. I’ve never even really used soul reaping much after like 2014 as I find the whole line to be lacklustre. Any time I have ran soul reaping I never even noticed vital persistence. In WvW/PvP that trait was never needed in any scenario.
But hey… every build that I ever used just got a massive buff LOL
My gripe is the lack of meaningful changes to traitlines and greatsword/reaper lacking. Axe is actually a good power weapon nowadays, but you can’t go power necro because you need power/precision/ferocity and then you die instantly because you are a necro. And condi is better in every way.

Spite
Congrats – the minors are very good. Nothing needs to change.
This is clearly the offensive damage line.
Curses
From a balance perspective, this line actually doesn’t really make any sense and has no theme to it. Realistically, all of the minor traits should probably be condition based or boon-hate based. But I’ll just say that it’s good as it is (even though it’s really not).
Death Magic
This line is absolute crap, no need for explaining. This is supposed to be our survivability line. I don’t care what you do with the rest of the traits (well I kind of do). But this is what the minor traits should be:
Adept – Shrouded Removal: Remove conditions in shroud.
Master – Unholy Sanctuary: Heal in shroud. (Auto shroud if lethal blow)
Grandmaster – Foot in the Grave: Break stun/gain stability entering death shroud.
Soul Reaping
Okay, so Gluttony needs to be replaced with a real trait because gluttony is from an age since past when the game was more balanced/we accepted the reality of boring traits because all of them were boring. What even is the Soul Reaping line? It’s the line that’s supposed to focus on shroud abilities and life force. This is what our minor traits should be:
By the way, Speed of Shadows directly competes with Relentless Pursuit with the recent change – so one of these traits has to change (hint: change relentless pursuit since power necros should take chilling nova for the burst)

When scourge comes, you can also add burning to that list of bullkitten in that video. But oh, wait, they removed a bunch of OP sigils in SPvP (who cares about WvW apparently)… and amulets… and… amulets are not overpowered. It’s the sigils, traits and runes that are overpowered.
I wish they would nerf all sigils across the board to become more balanced like (some of) the SPvP ones. Causing effects on weapon swap are not balanced either. Doing 10% more DMG to an opponent that is stunned is balanced. Sigils like Sigil of Annulment (your next attack after weapon swapping removes 2 boons) are not balanced – there is no counterplay to it and it just causes random effects that no one understands what is happening (“where’d my boons go, wtf?”) If it were, “Disabling a foe removes 1 boon” then it would be more balanced.

A few streamers were talking and saying “Omg elementalist and necro will be unbeatable in team fights in SPvP” lol. They are just hyped and not really thinking. You know what’s more unbeatable? An elementalist and literally any other support class holding the node with the elementalist.
Scourge has barrier – that’s it. It basically heals you temporarily; nothing more.
Any build without scourge already corrupts boons and can already do condi spam, except they have death shroud to survive.

Can we have something to do other than just combat?
Berserker gear, scholar runes, spite/blood magic/reaper, wells, dagger/focus (I personally use dagger trait for movement speed) is easiest PvE build. Probably the most damage as well.
Condition does not kill as fast in general PvE and I don’t think the sustain is as good either.
Dude, if you are having fun. then that’s all that matters. If you can get to whatever that black rank is (I don’t even care for PvP anymore) then why does anything else matter? Do you plan to play esports matches like the other kids that live at home with their mothers/have nothing to show for their life? If not, then just have fun. Black rank shows enough prestige, then.
To go “above” that means to get hardcore into GW2 PvP “esports” like the… (like 12?) same people that have been hardcore into GW2 PvP for years. Why waste your time? You will need to completely master your class; part of which includes doing thousands of duels in SPvP with varying builds as well as thousands of matches with teams etc. etc. It doesn’t get you anything.
By the time you do this (end result being you gain absolutely nothing but an ego boost… ONLINE) you could have found a wife, bought a house, done home projects, walked to China and back, earned probably $500,000 selling lemonade at a lemonade stand and learned about the meaning of life.
The only thing being the absolute best at your class in this game through determination will get you is an ego boost whenever you win your 1v1.
Please remove the cast time.

Greatsword #3 Death Spiral will have its damage decreased and vulnerability decreased because Anet deems it to be too strong of a skill.
Greatsword #5 will get lowered to a single target ability to spite those who wanted a teleport on death spiral.
Death’s Charge will get an increased cooldown (15s-20s) because necros are too mobile which helps them be viable.
Spectral Grasp will get nerfed to 900 range.
Axe will become a projectile somehow.
Dagger will have boon corrupt on auto attack (every part of the chain)
Blood is power will inflict 3 bleed for 30s and self bleeding will be increased to 50 bleed for 30s to capitalize on the new condi stack update.
Nothing can save you! will be increased to 4s cast time up from 0.5s.
Focus will remain unchanged.
Spectral armor cooldown decreased from 50s to 48.5s.
Berserker reaper with lich form and Nothing Can Save You! shout kills scrapper 1v1.
JK. You’ll never get to the point without being killed by a thief.

Greatsword skill recharge 20% faster
Greatsword skills have a 50% increased critical hit chance against chilled foes.
Works well for quite a few reasons but my main driving factor is hydromancy sigil + sigil of agility (quickness) weapon swapping to greatsword and then using gravedigger = yes plz.
Other than that, it will work for the auto attacks (which still need adjustment) grasping darkness, it could help spectral grasp to suck less if its tracking also gets fixed… etc.
I tried slapping on my full zerker gear on my necro again last night in WvW. Ran into a zerker warrior with greatsword/axe. I also had greatsword/axe.
Yeah, I didn’t stand a chance lmfao. Even if I had played 100% perfectly, literally everything is skewed in the warriors favour. Even their “when you reach 50% health” trait is better – they get endure pain (used to be 25% health, power creep Anet plz).

Essentially, power creep. That skill was originally designed to inflict 2 conditions – chill and poison.
GvG needs to somehow be “shoehorned” into WvW and by shoehorned, I mean implemented seamlessly and act as if it was always an official part of WvW from the start, thus creating the real esport that is GvG.
World linking then needs to somehow be tied according to what guild rankings are what on each server. Would be complicated to implement for certain, but it is guilds that decide what server wins (to an extent).

I believe that “finishing” skill lines should be something that Anet does next before new specializations. Such as how warrior has no elite shout, or ele has no elite signet, or necro has no elite well.

Tangled Depths just below Tangled Descent.
All skill (or all that was left after the power creep over the years) was completely removed with the addition of HoT.
For example.
Why did you give mesmers continuum split? In what kittening universe is a complete skill reset balanced? The little marker that it leaves behind doesn’t even matter for counterplay because when a mesmer uses continuum split, you’re the one playing defensively. This is the most overpowered ability in the entire game because it was given to a class that was already strong. For no kittening reason other than, “timetraveler spec needs to time travel”
Does anyone else miss fighting those highly skilled shatter mesmers with the whole triangle aspect going on? LOL DOESN’T EXIST ANYMORE. Just spam clones/phantasms out your kitten and then reset your skills and do it again.
Here’s another example:
DEJA VU
Why the kitten does it even exist? Just keep it Echo of Memory. What’s the counterplay? Unblockable skills? Lol. K. Then as soon as the mesmer sees that then he spams evades, invulns, blinds or just teleports the kitten out. Mesmer blocks for a million years, creates a phantasm and then… he does it again! And if he uses continuum split then he does it again then does it again again! Keep it a normal kittening block. Why? Because that is balanced.
Those are the biggest offenders for mesmer. Those abilities are totally out of line.
How about necromancer? Yeah, the class that I main. Nerf the mother kittening chill already. Even if you HALVED the chill damage people would STILL TAKE IT. That shows how broken it is. And guess what, it doesn’t matter for PvE either because necromancer will STILL have some of the highest condition damage.
Wow, nerf it.
Druid staff auto attacks.
I was playing a full berserk necro one day and a SOLDIER DRUID (I spectated) put so much pressure on me with staff auto attacks that I lost within 15 seconds.
Lol. Ok then. Maybe I should just dodge it all. Or, better idea. Just buff power necromancer through the roof and then when people complain buff their class through the roof, then, when the necromancer complains again, buff him again.
Then, repeat.
Oh wait that’s what you’ve been doing for years.
How about gunflame?
Yeahhh gunflame. The instant-cast killshot that is somehow better than killshot. Couple this with signet of might and GG anyone and everyone.
How about the fact that unblockable also can’t be reflected? Why? Because it causes weird interaction when certain abilities are reflected, such as creating a clone of the enemy? Then change that aspect somehow. Unblockable shouldn’t mean un-reflectable.
Basically, I miss when combat required some actual kittening thought process.
When I get sick of being ran over when trying new builds, I go back to spite/curses/reaper with wanderer amulet, signet of the insta-kill (spite signet) traited for chilling darkness and signets of suffering with on hit/crit sigils on my weapons.
Nothing like having signet of spite inflict 7 condis on its own + corrupting 2 boons + giving you might + 48s cooldown. From my experience, this kills anyone except thieves very easily. Quite hilarious, actually.
Necro vs necro is the most eye-gouging thing in this game now so to fully cheese these fights, just signet of spite them and then run. If they use their heal before you do, you win.
Surprisingly I find minions to be fun now too. You basically win every time necro vs necro because you have more condi transfer.

It’s useful in PvE the same way whirlwind is useful – it’s an evade that does damage. Saved my life soloing champs.
Clearly, there should be a commune point in the Royal Terrace but since there isn’t it must be a bug. (Airship too) Doesn’t have to grant a skill point. Just let us commune.

Common misconceptions about GvG:
- Adding a 4th gametype would spread players too much.
No, it wouldn’t. If there’s no GvG then those players don’t play… AT ALL. See: dwindled playerbase. GvG players also do WvW anyways because it’s good practice and guild hall arenas will be used for GvG practice. How the kitten is any of that bad? By having GvG in the obsidian sanctum you also get to implement whatever siege, stat boosts, whatever you want in regular WvW because those don’t affect obsidian sanctum.
Yep, that’s basically the only argument against GvG.
Oh, I forgot about the, “GvG isn’t really what Guild Wars means though…” argument. Just kitten with that “argument”.
Let’s be real, GvG – which came about by emergent gameplay – (which devs are supposed to look for and capitalize on – they failed to capitalize) is the real potential for “esports”, not SPvP. ESL streams are never above a thousand or so players because no one cares. The recorded videos only have a few hundred viewers.
How many views do these videos have?
- RG vs INC Over 17,000.
- RG vs Zumos Over 43,000
- WvW (not SPvP) raid of RG Over 115,000
- ESL Highlights 166 views.
- ESL Match 2,574 views.
Even the most least watched WvW and GvG videos have more views than the most watched SPvP videos.

- Make obsidian sanctum a megaserver. Megaservers will circumvent possible trolling of queue times by allowing players to create a new server to GvG on.
- Guilds that issue a GvG challenge while another GvG is currently underway are put into a queue, only to be able to enter as contestant when it is their guilds turn.
- Only guilds with at least 5 players active within the last month may issue a GvG challenge. (To help prevent queue time trolling)
- Add new guild permission: Kick out of arena (To work in obsidian and guild halls)
- Add function to challenge other guilds to a GvG. (Function only in obsidian sanctum)
- Able to issue challenge of 5v5, 10v10, 15v15 or 20v20.
- Add leaderboards for 5v5, 10v10, 15v15 and 20v20.
- All challenges are winner is best of 3 rounds.
- Add badge icons for all guild members. Different badge for guilds GvG rank (like SPvP)
- Add barriers around the arena so randoms can’t enter like guild halls have.
- Add entry portal in tunnel with text: Enter as contestant or Enter as spectator.
- Spectators are ported to the outer ring where combat is disabled.
- Contestants can only enter if they are a guild member of the issued GvG challenge. Only a certain amount of contestants (guild members) may enter. Example: If 5v5, only a maximum of 5 of your guild members may enter. Guild members with kick from arena permission will take the reigns from here and decide what guild members to kick out of the arena (if they’re trolling) and who may participate.
- Add ready up function where round begins when all players ready up.
- Combat is disabled in the arena until all players ready up.
- Round ends when all players on the opposing side are defeated.
- When round completes, all players automatically revive and ready up is reset.
- When final round completes, all players are revived, combat disabled, fireworks go off and players have 10 seconds until kicked from the arena to the spectator stands.
- Winner is awarded some sort of point for GvG leaderboards.

I have been trying to create a build to counter thieves specifically, but not be useless in all other aspects.
I’ve been having pretty good success with this build (with mercenary amulet).
Even Anas Tarcis copied my build after seeing it :^)
Anyway. What do you think? Warrior for thief counter? Or another class? Scrapper doesn’t seem as good at countering them, IMO. Curious as to if some sort of ele build with shocking aura spam would work too.
Wrote a novel worth of complaints of the lack of counterplay in this game, how unblockable should not = un-reflectable or un-destroyable, some skills like mirror blade shouldn’t be unblockable, condi application is way over the top, spam spam spam, spectral armor was balanced at 60s cooldown with no internal CD to scale with foes, blah blah blah, why is phoenix unblockable, BLAH BLAH, return of the evade spam thieves, spam spam, mesmer getting a new shatter to reset skills was extremely stupid to create for counterplay, blah blah, etc.

This is the kind of crap that causes this game to not be esports – game modes and leaderboards aside. Who the kitten wants to watch this? Viewers don’t even know WTF is going on in fights. There’s so much SPAM in this game now. It goes for every class.

This is what people actually enjoy watching. No spam + counterplay is clear.

Even people who don’t play the game can understand most of what’s going on AND there are clutch moments. Exciting. Exciting because there’s no SPAM.
I can’t believe how BAD the devs are at balancing this game. This game will go down in history for having the highest failed potential.
Passives and on crit junk has to go. Sigils that apply a new condition for no reason other than crit shouldn’t exist. For example: Sigil of Torment should not apply torment on critical hit for no reason. Instead, make it so that any skill that applies torment applies 1 extra stack on critical hit. This is balanced.
What is a balanced passive? Endure Pain at 25% health is balanced. You can land a burst to kill them before the 25% health proc and they are susceptible to CC and conditions.
What isn’t a balanced passive? Soothing Bastion
Basically invulnerability with health regen. Just WTF is supposed to be the counterplay to this?Unblockable attacks? Lol K.
Don’t agree? Good. Keep arguing badly and sewer this game some more.
This game was more balanced at release. Over the years: We’ll take a few seconds off this skill for no reason… increase this skill a little bit… NERF PISTOL WHIP!… let’s add some more ways to gain quickness… OMFG QUICKNESS OP REMOVE ITS FUNCTION FROM EVERYTHING!… let’s not buff warrior and guardian mace autos because we don’t wanna… OMG MAKE CONDIS STACK… shave the coni duration on this by 1s cause just cause… hmm maybe make this unblockable… REMOVE AMULETS!!!!… add this on crit passive here… maybe make an evade everything at 25% health here… GIVE NECRO BOON CORRUPT ON EVERYTHING!!!!!!! :@ :@… etc
