I mean, it’s nice that we can login in our patcher, but I’d rather have that screen. :D
If you’re running a killstreak booster, you probably want to stack experience and do:
Killstreak Booster (1 Enchanted Booster)
Experience Booster (1 Enchanted Booster)
Laureate Experience Booster (1 Laurel)
Improved Experience Booster (5 Experience Boosters; NOT 5 Enchanted Boosters)
Heroes/Karma+Experience Banner
Food (Ghosty Variety)
Potion (Any)
Birthday Bonus (Birthday Present)
+5% Experience Bonus (Guild Bonus)
For a grand total of:
+420% experience.
So then you’ll get 5.2x normal mob experience. (Not including Wisdom.)
If you’re willing to wait, then you should wait through this filler content.
From a development standpoint, if they pour all their resources into one gigantic team to create “the best” experience, it’ll fail. There would be too many things that would clash and it would flop.
After a certain point, you can’t keep adding more resources to a specific project.
Let Arenanet work at their own pace instead of trying to work at your pace. If you’re capable of leading a company like Arenanet, I don’t know what you’re doing on their forums, but good for you, you’re still not Arenanet.
Sounds like someone stockpiled and wants to profit.
If they don’t tweak anything between now and PoF, we’ll probably get a buff a month into PoF. I highly doubt that that’ll happen, though.
Although I also doubt the changes between now and PoF are going to make a difference.
Awwh yeah, with these new trait changes, all sorts of NEW builds will come out. I wonder what FANTASTICALLY AMAZINGLY DIVERSE builds we can make as Phantasm.
Oh, there’s really only one now? I guess that’s cool…
New Phantasm Build:
0/15/0/25/25 with 5 points leftover!
What does this all mean?!
Well, you’re most likely going to grab…
Dueling:
Critical Infusion Gain 5 seconds of vigor on delivering a critical hit. This effect can only trigger once every 5 seconds
Sharper Images Illusions inflict bleeding on critical hits
Blade Training +50 precision while wielding a one-handed sword or a spear. Reduces the recharge of sword and spear skills by 20%.
Inspiration:
Vengeful Images Grants retaliation to Phantasms
Phantasmal Healing Phantasms grant regeneration to nearby allies
Phantasmal Strength Phantasms do 15% more damage
Compounding Celerity Move faster for each active illusion
Persisting Images Phantasms have 20% more health
Illusions:
Illusionists Celerity Illusion-summoning skills recharge 20% faster
Illusionary Retribution All shatter skills inflict confusion
Shattered Strength Shattering illusions grants you 1 stack of might per illusion (10 seconds)
Compounding Power 3% more damage for each of your active illusions
Phantasmal Haste Phantasms recharge 20% faster
So many diversities!
Notes on the last 5 trait points:
Place them in Dueling for traited Pistol or Phantasmal Fury.
Place them in Inspiration for Mender’s Purity or traited Focus.
Note on Inspiration:
You can replace Persisting Images with Mender’s Purity or traited Focus.
GEAR:
Whatever DIVERSE gear you were using before, YOU CAN STILL USE!
WEAPONS:
Keep using those DIVERSE Phantasm build weapons. (Cough Sword/X Cough)
I personally suggest using Sword/Sword + Staff/Greatsword/Scepter/Focus/Pistol/Torch!
UTILITIES:
Diversity has no place here. Run iDefender, Signet of Illusions and the third will be based on what you’re fighting/going up against! (Feedback, Arcane Thievery, Blink!)
Note: In WvW, iDefender can be replaced with Decoy.
Please keep in mind that this opening post, while satirical, is also a serious, viable build with the new update in mind.
Thank you, and have a nice day.
For each stack, it would increase the damage and condition duration of each illusion under your control by 1%.
It should also affect clones to synergize with ambush attacks. The extra power damage won’t make a difference, but the condition duration will help a little bit, especially since they already have lower condition duration on the ambush attacks than we do.
I disagree. Only Scepter Ambush has the reduced duration and we shouldn’t embrace that discrepancy.
All other sources of Conditions from Illusions are tied to the Mesmer (AFAIK), which means that Sharper Images, Duelist’s Discipline, and the illusions themselves use the Mesmer’s Condition Duration on EVERYTHING except the Scepter Ambush. Even the Staff Ambush uses the same Condition Duration.
If it gets changed to improve condition duration, not only does that put a burden onto developers to decide which sources of conditions should be tied to illusions, but it also puts a burden onto the Mesmer who now has to deal with clone Staff Ambush having more Condition Duration than the Mesmer themselves.
Sure, “bonus condition duration” is good, but it’s also a wasted stat outside of PvP where it’s harder to reach these caps.
Honestly want something like this for males:
http://i1133.photobucket.com/albums/m594/haihaihai111/gw2_ele11.pngDone.
Put a more attractive face. :p
Can’t put anything better onto perfection, sorry.
Moto is a male based on his hair/facial structure. Additionally, he was probably made fun of during his youth as my Asura, Esplen, probably would have been.
Esplen is a female name when looking at it from a human standpoint, but from an Asura standpoint, it is more male than female.
Wait wait wait. Why is it that people keep bringing up “Rampage can just be moa’ed” in threads arguing against PU? Does nobody see the irony?
If you use the second portal, it will always reset the cooldown of portal.
If you don’t use the second portal, when the duration of the initial portal ends, the cooldown will be based off when you dropped the first portal.
Tl;dr: Everytime you place a portal (entrance or exit), the cooldown goes off.
So can Blink, Lightning Flash, and Necrotic Traversal. Of course, they all have significantly higher cooldowns/cost, making them not as easy to use as IA.
nothing changed, bosses still drop nothing good,
Opinion, Shadow Behemoth was fixed to drop Final Rest. They also drop guaranteed rares, and have better loot tables than before.
instance/dungeon bosses still drop nothing good,
Opinion, however with your wording I’ll let it slide as their loot tables haven’t been adjusted.
epic armor still doesnt look good except for like 2 different sets….woohoo for variety, 2 sets wowww thats a lot.
Opinion.
PVP hasnt changed, at all, like at allll, they added a map called spirit watch, nothing special, but thats it.
Opinion, lots of balance patches have come in to change the sPvP meta, WvW has changed slightly, as well. WvW ranks, culling, EB JP a separate map, solo roamers have more of an impact than before, etc, etc.
dungeons/instances still look poorly thought-out and has no creativity.
No matter what people complain. AC was super easy and the best thing to farm on a daily basis. Was changed to be more of a challenge and everyone started whining that it’s not worth anyones time anymore.
welllll thats about it, o and you can keep ur hopes up for the coming updates starting july 9th….maybe stuff will get A LOT, A LOT, A LOT better. who knows, lol maybe ill actually start playing again…..but then again theres a good chance that nothing good will happen.
Yeah, your opinion sounds great, especially that last part.
who knows, lol maybe ill actually start playing again
Oh my, someone who isn’t playing is telling someone else who isn’t playing what is happening ingame! So reliable!
Gear: Stacking in this order: Condition Dmg, Toughness/Power (tie); Precision and Vitality occurred naturally in several of my pieces as there is no “Cond/Tough/Power” set. I am currently using Runes of the Undead, and logical Sigils. My chest and legs are Rampager, the other 4 pieces are Carrion.
So find gear that gives you condition damage as the main stat and just work around that. There aren’t many setups that do that, and at your level I think you only get 2 stats on each item (if you do get 3, go for the names he mentions), so it shouldn’t be too hard.
On no please do tell me how Mesmers have more surviving tools then eles who have more heals then a game with actual monks and immune to conditions when their health is above 90% or Theifs who can evade nonstop and have better access to stealth and stuns?
I like how you put thieves and eles on the same level there. Right now in spvp thief has to run away the moment another player looks at him. But yeah I get the ele part.
SEE? THIEF IS OP. HE CAN RUN AWAY!!!oneone!
But I mean… I don’t doubt the damage, however in the end we got a more accurate claim regarding mirage that was broadcasted to those same masses who hang on his word. Shouldn’t there be at least some leeway to redeem or correct a mistake?
The problem is, not really. All he did was defend himself, try to justify his reasons, and then throw some “hey Mirage at least has these things going for them, maybe” which were all way off course.
He also got a lot more than just mirage wrong, so I think the shade we throw is a bit to indignant, it’s as if he made an intentional slight against only us.
I don’t think how he misrepresents other professions affects or should affect how the Mesmer community reacts to his misrepresentation of them.
I guess you could argue he shouldn’t do coverage if he’s just going to get it wrong? But personally I’d rather some expac content than none at all.
I mean, if you have the opportunity to research and make an informed video about a new topic, you should do so. If there’s a new topic and you don’t know a lot about it, it’s probably better to not go in-depth. I would prefer if you just didn’t make a video, but maybe that’s just me and my general dislike for clickbait (because without depth, that’s what it is).
It’s his first time doing this and having early previews from A-net, so maybe he’ll be able to analyze it more critically next time?
It’s his first time doing what? Making videos about elite specs? Nope, he did that two years ago. Making videos about new content? Nope, he’s been doing that for years.
Also I wouldn’t put to much stock into that toy axe thing, Even if it worked and if it turned out we were the fastest, it’d be nerfed anyways.
It does “work”, but it’s a non-issue whether or not they fix it. Superspeed is as fast as Swiftness OOC. This means that you’re still slower than a Warrior/Engineer/Thief/Ele/Guard that uses the toy axe. Why? Because they can have swiftness and throw in a leap after each use. A Mirage ‘can’ throw in a leap (Sword Ambush) but then they still have to have some Swiftness gen for the axe (since they just wasted their superspeed on a leap).
A good tip to being in a successful guild: Be level 80. Nobody wants an unskilled guild leader.
Another good tip: Let players do what they want. Nobody wants a controlling guild leader.
Lastly an actual tip: Let players represent other guilds. That’s their choice. If you’re reaching the 500 cap, that’s when things start to make a difference, but until then, just let people be in it for the sake of being in it. Don’t force them to be in it.
How would you like it if I, as your friend, forced you to spend all your time with me. If you spent time with anyone outside of my circle of friends, I would confront you and tell you that you can’t be my friend anymore. How would that make you feel?
More leaps isn’t really interesting. Look at thief, the only thing that the leap-spam is known for is stealth because the rest are somewhat lackluster (I mean, Dazing strike is nice but Lightning Field is about as abundant as Dark Fields).
While I’m not advocating more blasts, I don’t think more leaps is necessary (especially since we have pretty good leaps in our weapons with Sword3 and Staff2).
Keep in mind the 10,000 hour rule assumes that you’re doing the task (job, idea, etc) correctly or striving to. Even if it’s a natural progression of getting better, that counts.
However, it is possible to do a task for 10,000 or more hours and still be bad (or worse than the mean) at the task.
A good example of something that you will become great at is reading. If you read for 10,000 hours, by the end you should be able to read competently and not have to say the words out loud (and there are a lot more people that do this than most people think. Plenty of people have to read it at least with their mouths and others have to say the words out loud).
An example of the reverse is using a computer. In the current day and age (of first world countries), people tend to use computers every day (that includes phones). However, many people are not masters, experts, or even great at doing so. People use browsers but don’t necessarily know how to USE browsers (browser shortcuts, hotkeys, bookmarks, tweaks, edits, and more). Of course, you could then argue that “well, they only USE tumblr and they’re decently good at it”, which may be true (no offense tumblrians), but I doubt the majority of people who have used tumblr have looked at pictures and text posts for 10,000 hours (and if they have, they better kitten well be good at it, or I don’t know what they expect out of life).
Yes, that’s more or less the best way to go about it. You can combine a fine, journeyman, master, and 3 mystic forge stones to get a mystic salvage kit (250 uses) which is currently a slightly better deal than master, though it has the same effectiveness IINM (value of this will vary based on gem/gold conversion, since mystic stones are a gem store item).
Current market price depicts Mystic Salvage Kits as being a money sink. Other than saving you space (which you shouldn’t worry about since you’re not going to typically loot 25+ rares in a single outing), it’s just a convenience item right now.
Although with the influx of Mystic Shards from Achievement Chests, you can opt to make one or two with those.
Typical salvage uses are:
Crude: White and Salvageable items. Optional: Blues.
Master: Level 68+ rares.
Black Lion: Level 68+ exotics.
For the remaining items (Blues/Greens), it’s a fine line between salvaging via Crude or just selling to an NPC.
You seem to think everyone fghts the Claw of Jormag all the time. I don’t.
I’m only listing this specific event as an example of what I’ve observed. I only ever do this event once, as well. But every time I do, without fail, the farmers are there to draw things out with an insatiable thirst for loot.
You’ve only ever done Jormag once, but every time you’ve done it, without fail, people are farming it.
So… you’ve done Jormag once…
The one time you were doing Jormag…
People were there…
Would you rather do Jormag solo?
Simple. There’s no reason at all not to give this option in hotjoin/WvW. Tournament players are not the only people who get annoyed by asurans, and it matters just as much if not more in WvW.
If its a huge load on the server that’s fine, but please don’t assume that the rest of us don’t want this. We really, really do.

Most of the items you listed off that aren’t in this update are because they are content. This is not a content update, this is a feature pack. Content updates usually, but not exclusively, take the forum of living world updates or festivals.
Is there any particular reason as to why the Feature Patches take 6 months to kick off? I feel like, since the changes are offered for feedback from the community, you could make them a 2 month cycle.
The reason why I bring this up is that nothing new is being implemented in regards to flavorful skills. My opinion is slightly biased, but I play a Mesmer and with the changes I’ll be seeing, there were many, many suggestions offered for Mimic, Scepter, and GS3 (Mind Stab) to be fixed.
Instead of taking the route more inline with a 6 month wait (actually 2 years)
- Mind Stab: Numbers get shoved up. I don’t think there are any technical limitations that stopped this from happening earlier. If there are, I think the GW2 source code might need to be looked at. Does not address the issue of rooting, either.
- Scepter: Condition gets re-added (removed from BWE’s, not the same condition). This one doesn’t address the issue at all (slow cast paired with slow aftercast) and really shows laziness. 6 months to re-add something that was in place over 2 years ago.
- Mimic: Re-worked the functionality to copy another skill in a “new” way. Karl himself doesn’t really know how this change affects Mesmers. There’s no reason to “synergize” this skill with Null Field and Arcane Thievery. You’d use it in place of those two, but it won’t see competitive play because of it’s long cooldown and gimmicky effect. Basically, this skill went from one gimmick to another.
Additionally, if the changes were done every 2 months, the iLeap fix wouldn’t have been so drastic and harmful to Mesmer gameplay. We could have, as a community (Devs and Players) worked to the solution instead of jumping to a huge overcompensation, as we Mesmers tend to see.
Tl;dr: Any reason why it takes 6 months to implement major gameplay changes that end up being minor?
Hi Devon while we have you’re attention , There is a simple fix , make the game less zerging ? with different capture/points etc
More capture/points would benefit zerging. If you spread out the rewards or forced multiple objectives to occur simultaneously, it would remove a giant zerg, but it would also prevent solo play.
If you think about it, World Vs World is a war simulation. In war, you have large-scale fights between two giant groups. You also have guerrilla tactics (small groups) and spread out attacks, but, in the end, it is two armies battling head to head. To say that zerging needs to be removed is like going to a battlefield and saying “let’s stop fighting as a giant army and instead only fight in groups of 5. So I’ll send 5 soldiers, and you’ll send 5 soldiers, okay?”
Yes, in the game perspective, zerging is dumb and annoying. It grants huge incentive to players who don’t want to/don’t have to think. It’s the same mentality as 8v8 sPvP where you aren’t learning how to play the game (in this case WvW), but instead are learning how to play a clusterkitty.
But it works, so that’s why it won’t stop. Sure, there are times when you have to split your zerg and there are other times when you need to combine your zerg, but that’s all about commanders and smart players which is seen in higher tiers. In lower tiers, you’ll just see people running in with a huge group. This means that solo play is more effective since if one person is flipping camps while that persons world has a zerg [or two] running around grabbing keeps/towers, the giant zerg will also stop by the camps and re-flip them giving the other zerg more time to take keeps/towers.
Of course, it doesn’t make the game anymore fun, but it is a war simulation, in the end, even though it is a game. It’s like hating the game because it’s possible to kill Dolyaks and that they give you meat, which makes them a viable method to farm for slabs of meat, but then begging arenanet to change it because you don’t want to kill Dolyaks.
Long post is long.
tl;dr: Zerging is bad, but it will, pretty much, always be there.
I mean, you haven’t offered any points of discussion other than " I kinda liked mirage " and “I felt strong. So mobile. it was insane.”
I took all of your points/opinions and refuted them with examples. You took that and got extremely defensive with “Sorry for being positive about the spec. Sorry for actually liking it more than core mesmer (tho I loved Chrono) and sorry for trying something new succesfully. It may not be for everyone, but my opinion is worth just as much.”
You also, at the end of that, restated your opinions but as discussion points without acknowledging the refutation. There has been no discussion with you. Your posting here has simply been stating that you have an opinion and that it matters, while refusing to look beyond it and see anyone else’s views or opinions.
I, along with a lot of other people here (I hope) have read your opinions and acknowledged them. Heck, I took each of your points and wrote a long reason as to why they are not a good representation of Mirages strength, because they are not unique to Mirage. If that doesn’t make sense, think about it like this: You can take off Mirage and still have AoE Condi, Massive In-Combat Mobility, and Damage.
I didn’t actually say anything about damage to you, and I’m sorry for not doing that, although I have done that many times in this sub-forum. The reason why Damage is trivial on Mirage (at the moment) is that the Ambushes don’t scale well, the traits add very little, and the only gains in numbers is 150 Condition Damage + 300 Expertise (20% Condition Duration) vs ~100-250 Condition Damage (based on toughness) + 0-495 Expertise (33% Condition Duration based on boons on you) via Chaos (since that is the accepted standard line to be replaced by Mirage).
Now, you can easily replace another line with Mirage, but if you replace Dueling, you lose Sharper Images and Duelist’s Discipline which is a huge damage loss. You also lose access to either Deceptive Evasion or Superiority Complex, both of which are extremely valuable. Lastly, you lose access to Vigor on crit and that’s our most reliable way of gaining Vigor/Endurance. If you replace Illusions, you lose access to Phantasmal Force or Malicious Sorcery, which significantly drops your sustained damage output, meaning that unless you’re killing Veterans or weaker, you’re going to take longer (and it makes a pretty big difference when you do need that damage). You also lose access to Compounding Power and more dps traits which significantly drop your dps. Plus if your idea is to shatter a lot for that extra bursty rotation, you’ll need Illusions for the reduced cooldown on both illusions and shatters.
At this point, I’ve gone over why you should be using Mirage instead of Chaos, and I’ve listed the stat gains over Chaos. Now, if you look at the traits, there is very little offered in terms of damage. You won’t be getting Infinite Horizon because then you don’t get the 300 Expertise (Dune Cloak). The other traits are pretty lackluster in execution, so a standard setup would be: Self-Deception/Renewing Oasis + Mirrored Axes/Mirage Mantle + Dune Cloak. Riddle of Sand is not taken because it’s a counterintuitive trait for minimal gain (1 confusion). Shards of Glass is not taken because it’s a flat 33% chance and, again, you’re shattering, losing all of your damage so you can ambush. Mirage Mantle is not particularly good, but if you’re not running Axe it’s better than the rest. For GM you’re most likely grabbing Dune Cloak for PvE because 20% Condition Damage is a huge gain allowing for more Sinister gear to be worn (over Viper). Elusive Mind and Infinite Horizon offer very little in PvE.
Ok, now that we’ve gone over that, the actual damage gain over current Condi Mes is more reliable stats (average will be higher than Condi Mes). The rotation will be unchanged kittentering is still a damage loss. Ambushes are pretty insignificant and adding them to your rotation is a recipe for disaster, so the way to play it is: Play Condi Mes with Mirage line instead of Chaos. When you dodge an attack, follow up with an Ambush.
I’m not saying you don’t know what you’re doing or you’re wrong about everything. But you’ve only posted your opinion and adamantly stamped your feet saying that you’re right because you have an opinion. I’m glad that you have an opinion, and it’s definitely good to go against the grain if that’s what you believe, but you should also realize that we’re giving feedback and you’re just coming here with an opinion and not accepting our feedback, both to you or about the spec itself.
Makes sense on paper, and then remember that there are zergs. Imagine having a wall of elementalists with constant Swirling Winds and Meteor.
You can’t approach the gate because they are using Meteor. What do you do? Use a Siege Weapon.
You can’t use a Siege Weapon because they are using Swirling Winds. What do you do? Approach the gate.
Oh kitten.
Tsk tsk. Before April 15, you could only have one of that skin on one character. People pushes it, ANET let you now have as many copies of that skin as you want for transmutation charges. Now people want it for FREE. So demanding and entitlement. You bought it once. It’s already unlocked, and you have 1 free use of the skin. Just earn the transmutation charges. It’s not that hard to get. I’m sitting on a few hundreds by just playing.
The system is fine as is.
Lol you mean by doing lots of map completion? That’s the only way I can think of that “just playing” yields charges.
Nearly every activity in the game (not actually “activity” since those don’t yield the same drops) gives a chance of looting a Black Lion Chest Key or Black Lion Chest.
Opening those also gives you a chance at getting charges.
If you don’t want to spend money to get charges, and don’t want to map complete to get charges, then maybe you really don’t want to transmute things.
I want to get money, and I don’t want to work. Does that mean I should complain about having to work to get money?
Funny I was joking with some guildies about how it is possible to become a walking lightbulb with that combination. Very bright and shining blindingly, and no little details or patterns.
Don’t get me wrong, I like shiny I like bright, but the chaos skins is a bit overkill for me. But to each their own.Gor the question… no regrets… I chose radiant, but never use any of the parts… might aswell have chosen hellfire, but guess what… would not be using that either… does not suit my character.
Woooo, bulky, shiny, and no respect for personal space!
Actually, Boon duration only applies to boons you give (either to yourself or to others) not Boons you receive.
So if someone gives you 5s of swiftness and you have 100% boon duration, you don’t get 10s of swiftness, you get 5s. If you, however, give an AoE 5s of swiftness, it becomes 10s swiftness on everyone that receives it. (Note: Boon Duration IS applied in tooltips.)
All he did was stop the Ash Legion from getting a bad name. He’s still working for profits. The gist of that story was that he didn’t want to use brute force to get money from the merchants in Lion’s Arch, he wanted to be Ash about it and be sneaky in his methods of taking money from the pirates.
Maybe Tongku needs to show us a video of his full stealth combo burst.
If you’ve just noticed that with dyes then I pity how the rest of the game has treated you so far.
I thought Fresh Air don’t go in Water.
Did you close and re-open your BLTP?
Unless you’re using the API, or a standard web browser you’re not going to be able to refresh fast enough to see how many things were bought at any given purchase (and that doesn’t account for multiple people buying at the same time).
Your question has been answered, so I suggest we leave this thread to die.
Personally, I don’t bother with the smaller stuff like that because it’s usually bots/ridiculously rich people manipulating them to get other people (like you) to constantly invest, then they pull the market down on you.
If you want to know a safer method to making money, turn cores into lodestones. It requires skill points, but if you do dungeons in between crafts, you should be fine. Additionally, if you have a high enough crafting profession, you can research what runes you can make with the profession and then sell those runes for profit. Make sure you research before hand and do ALL your math. ALWAYS.
If you don’t do your math, you’ll end up thinking you’re making profit but either breaking even or even going negative. (15% reduction on all sales, 5% from listing, 10% from selling.)
I somehow never quite got the main issue, because the Berserker to me was never more than a Cripple application device for single targets. For AE it deals nice damage, but it’s also obviously better at AE, given the fact that it WWs.
I more mind how reliable the Warrior WW is. Seriously. It’s an AE skill, it feels to powerful for single targets.
Actually, the Warrior’s WW and the Phantasmal Berserker WW are both ridiculously strong. Most Phantasmal Berserkers are left alive, allowing them to strike 2-3 times in most cases (unless the Mesmer dies, which is a different problem with the Greatsword, namely that of only having 1 defensive skill on a high cooldown). 2-3 strikes of Phantasmal Berserker is enough to, assuming it dies at that point, allow you to re-cast it at around the time it dies. If your opponent IS killing your Phantasms, your main complaint shouldn’t be how much damage the Phantasms do.
The only difference is that Warrior’s can aim their WW and Phantasmal Berserkers just spray and pray them (at a much, much faster rate, might I add). It’s quite balanced, but most of the Mesmers in this thread can only see that they aren’t doing insane amounts of damage anymore.
Hes not so far from the truth however i recently saw a guy who actualy iniatiated a fight as 2h sword mesmer shatter build and prety much exploded a 2v1 at full health within 3 seconds and i aint joking it took him 3 second to down two players with some kind of shatter build. How i know it wkittenter? Well he was carrying around 15 permanant might and spammed stunlock.
As far as i recall he initiated with chaos storm fellowed by a stunlock shatterbomb and a damage shatter bomb then applyed another stun with the daze mantra. We both died from our full health before we could even react.
Counter to this? Get invulnerability or stability or die instantly because likely you wont have any time to dodge while stunned that chain litteraly does 20k damage or above and prevent any form of reaction!
You’re playing full squish and are mad that you took a full nuke from another full squish to the face?
Asura Mesmer, don’t care what order.
Although I’d probably pick Vigil because of their shoulderturtleneck and their visor.
I simply want small cosmetic mounts. Nothing to distracting, and nothing that grants a speedboost. I just want them for looks.
You, Sir, are a scoundrel and a fiend. I demand fisty-cuffs!

—Capturing Stonemist—
So, let’s say that Stonemist gets flipped somewhere between 1-5 times per day. I know this is unrealistic, but this is all theoretical math. Now, if it gets flipped 1-5 times per day, that means you have the possibility of capturing it 1-3 times per day. So, with that in mind, let’s say that it only requires 100,000 captures to gain the title.
100,000 captures / 3 captures/day = 33,333.333… days
33,333.333… days / 365.25 days/year = a little over 91 years
Okay, jeez, that sounds very unrealistic. So let’s say that Stonemist gets flipped 12 times a day, all by your server, somehow.
(100,000 captures) / (12 captures/day) = 8333.333… days
(8333.333… days) / (365.25 days/year) = a little under 23 years
WOAH THERE! 23 YEARS?! Jeez, so let’s fine-tune this and see how many flips per day you can get it to make it a reasonable amount of time (5 years, let’s say).
(5 years) * (365.25 days/year) = 1826.25 days
(100,000 captures) / (1826.25 days) = 54.757 captures/day.
So we need to capture stonemist 55 times a day for FIVE YEARS STRAIGHT to get the title, assuming it’s at 100,000. Really? Not including breaking down the doors and fighting, it takes 10 minutes to capture stonemist. 5 minutes of your RI and 5 minutes of their RI. That means in an 8 hour workday, you’re able to capture Stonemist…
(1 capture) / (10 minutes) = 0.1 captures/minute
(0.1 captures/minute) * (60 minutes/hour) = 6 captures/hour
(6 captures/hour) * (8 hours/day) = 48 captures/day
Wow, that looks vaguely familiar to the math I just did. So you’re telling me that Stonemist needs to get flipped like a camp for 8 hours a day so that you can get the achievement in just under 6 years?
—Second Afterword—
Kinda ran out of room, and then needed to ninja edit this, so it’s going to be in an awkward spot with nirvana’s post right above mine, but whatever.
Ultimate Dominator is the only objective that is reasonable. You can easily wrack up large amounts of kills in WvW (not necessarily through skill, but through zerging. I’ll stop right here or I’ll rant about mindless zerging) and 250,000 is easily do-able. Everything else really is not.
Note: PLEASE KEEP IN MIND THAT THIS IS NOT A HATE-THREAD. THIS IS A THREAD TRYING TO INFORM OTHER PLAYERS.
I do not want players getting infracted for posting in this thread, I simply want people to know that the system is flawed in such a way that it makes Legendaries look like CoF p1 runs.
—Tl;dr—
tl;dr: Thanks for reading through if you did. If you didn’t, math states that it’s very, very improbable of getting any of these achievements other than Ultimate Dominator, even for hard-core players.

And maybe mesmer is not the most urgent to nerf in any case…
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3lQbbUJQroMCan’t wait to see what reason they get out of this video to nerf Mesmer.
Because the interaction between Healing Prism x Vampiric is OP, must be the Mes’ fault. (Seriously, why a 10s ICD? What was the reasoning behind 10s?)
Thank you. I try my best to even out the competition.
I think Boon Duration doesn’t affect iMage. Other than that, keep posting. It’s definitely underrated (as opposed to other Phantasms), because it’s our one, true ConDmg phant.
I like the mechanics. But the entire class seems unpolished and balanced around a traitline very different than what we’re given. Perhaps the same traits, but they’ve already been nerfed and shuffled.
The unpolished is a lot of mechanics feel off and don’t work well (IAmbush/Axe3 putting you with wrong facing/out of range, MAdvance cast time/range req, Jaunt almost requires quick-cast due to low range, False Oasis small drawn out heal). The list of problems is really long and incorporates almost everything given.
One thing to note is that I’m almost entirely sure that the ambushes are balanced around Infinite Horizon, which is kind of counter-intuitive to how major traits and class mechanics should be built. The reason I say that is that all of the ambushes are pretty lackluster and weak when done with just you. You can trait them to be decent, but the only way they’re “out of control” is if you chain them with multiple clones. They aren’t ever actually powerful by themselves.
Mirage feels like a non-elite line as it is now. I’m not saying that the weapon, utilities, or mechanics are bad in concept, they just aren’t tuned to Mesmer… or the game, really. The spec doesn’t need to be scrapped, but it’s not polished. Things need to get smoothed out, moved around, and upgraded, to be completely honest. In the current state I don’t see it having many viable options.
