That’s a huge trolling spot as it is.

- arena is not enough far away from entrance
- you shouldn’t get strait to the arena circle, but to grandstand
- grandstand should be separated from arena by invisiable walls
- there should be 3rd platform on the top, for a 3rd server
- flatforms on the top should have rails/invisiable walls or be invulnerable-zones

Dunno if it’s intended, but you get loot, wxp and kills for WvW achievement.

About the incoming hammer nerf

So alot of people cry about how Anet killed the hammer warriors with the upcomming nerfs to 2 of the skills, and some indirect nerfs through traitmoving.
Personally, I don’t think we will see less hammer-training warriors just because their favorite leaping 8-sec cooldown aoe cc initiate/escape tool now deals 5k aoe damage instead of 6k.

So what do you guys think? Is it really that much of a nerf, or are people overreacting?

do the skills still CC? yes
do the skills still allow you to chain CC? yes

Not sure if it’s been mentioned but it’s also dishonorable/cowardly to run and stand on those rock formations where your enemy cannot harm you. I hate when people use that “exploit.”

this trait will proc as long as you have a decent crit chance.

there is no counter play to this, no amount of dodging skills or condi cleanse can keep up every 10 seconds on top of what we already can dish out.

We do not need Burning to help out damage. I have very little trouble with 1v1 and sometimes 1v2-3 all without dumbfire. in group fights you cant pick and choose who gets burning so its a waste 30 trait points. if you want burning you have a 15s skill called epidemic where you can spread 10+ seconds of burning +all conditions to 5 other targets.

I don’t get what you mean.. First you’re saying you don’t use burning and afterwards you’re talking about spreading it with epidemic ? Or do you mean in group play ? It’s not like other classes will go easy on you with their conditions , so why are we ‘unfair’ ? Ever seen that big aoe fire field of warrior longbow burst ? That’s what I call a real painfull problem.. Not some random 4s burning.. Even if didn’t have burning, we could still stack lots and lots of bleeding with scepter 1.. So you want that they change that to ?

If you do not trait 30 points in spite.. Then how will you spread 10s+ burning with epidemic ? Or do you mean in group play ? But why would others be alowed to give burning but not the Necromancer ?

A good Necro does not NEED to APPLY burning to be effective. We spread it from other classes. A good Necro will NOT WASTE 30 trait points for a trait that supports mindless skill spamming in order for it to proc. ONLY BAD Necros rely on this trait to be good. Only Bad necros will see no other way to deal damage and sustain themselves without this trait.

I just dont understand why any decent necro or any necro that played before this patch came out supports this trait.
I see you have 1600 played on your necro (your sig) do you mind if I ask what you ran before this trait came?

Honestly, if they took away burning, I feel that Necro’s wouldn’t deal enough damage to compete with other professions. We could give up some defensive stats for more crit, but we don’t have stability either so we need our high armor/HP to survive.

When people complain about Necro burst, what they are really complaining about is that they are CC’d during this burst, because in reality, the damage is nothing compared to power builds.

Personally, I don’t think burning fits a Necromancer, but I would at least want more access to Torment in place of Dumbfire.

As for the idea of making Dumbfire an AE burning in Deathshroud… do you realize how much more OP that would be? lol.

I have never ran dumbfire and I have had 0 (zero) issues with my damage.

I do not know of the nerfs before dhuumfire. But you say you do more damage and do not use it?

there where no nerfs before dumbfire. all the nerfs came after it was introduced in game.
Also I dont feel I need burning to keep my dmg high, like I said in my first responce. you need to learn when and how to condi burst ppl down instead of spamming which is what most necro’s after the dumbfire patch have been doing.

Not sure why anyone would assume one condition follows a different set of rules when it comes to priority. First come first serve.

Actually for a long time, and not sure if it is still there, the Wiki said something to the effect, that a burn would always take the highest available condition damage coefficient, and just apply the damage to whoever had the burn ticking.

So if someone had a weak burn and someone else had a strong burn in the queue, the weak burn would in fact use the stronger burn players condition damage, and just pass that damage back to the weaker player.

It doesn’t work this way, but I do remember historically at some point it was listed that way. The wiki isn’t exactly the best tool for accuracy though.

when people want to test their WvW builds they should be able to with the same gear/food.
Spvp is not the solution for this since it used the amulet system which limits our builds.

Next on the list of GvG requests is the ability to fight guilds outside of our 3 server matchup.

That going to be the Spvp GvG set up or a Sgvg using the the Spvp system. It would make GvG into near espot level of play and i think that could be very fun.

I have no problem using the Spvp system, just let me use the gear and food I want to use.
but back to this topic,

the map is Larger than the current Gvg arena which is great.
Spectators and Shoutcasters can have a really nice view of the fight without getting in the way.

Also with the spectators in attendance any person who tried to interrupt a match will get roflstomped each time.

Then the fight would not be fair the idea of wvw gvg is that its more for pure bragging rights of your guilds both in pve ability and in wvw ability. If you want true GvG that has ranks etc.. its going to need to be a Sgvg.

We do have ranks, gw2gvg.com has our leaderboards. about as True GvG as possible atm.

and the fights are fair.
-15v15 or 20v20 Fight until the other side is completely down or the leader calls the round.
-we have agreements on what to do for disconnects/interference
-No stacking sigils or stacks of any kind.
-all gear is acceptable, all food is acceptable (anyone can get ascended gear with the help of a good guild)

whats not fair?

Its not fair in how much pve that guild runs. GvG in wvw is more then just a test of pvping skills there a lot to do with organization class comp and that guilds ability to raise up there players in pve (both gold and gear). That and any one can just simply jump in and troll the fight both by attking the other team and by buffing there side before or during a fight (its very hard to pick these up during a fight). I am not saying this is a bad thing ppl like this type of open pvp but you cant treat it as true GvG for ranks etc.. its more on the lines of free play pvp a lot like how wvw is made to be. A true GvG will be in Spvp with the Spvp stander gear and runes making it a pure skill / class comp game.

Interfering in a fight in this new arena will be very noticeable due to the size of the area and where the stands are. also big gvg guilds have spectators from all servers to keep watch on interference.
Guild should PVE together. also [GF] does not pve often but we have our gear because it was needed to make our builds work. they wont work or have the same effectiveness in spvp with the amulet system.
My build would loose 5k+hp, close to 600 condi dmg, 40% condi duration
our other classes would probably get an even bigger nerf to out dmg and defense.

Just from the images, the biggest complaint that will likely come from the GvG guilds pertaining to this area will be the need for more space to fight. We will see though.

By the looks of it, it already looks bigger than what we are used to. so I dont think any current gvg guild will have many issues.

Thief Cluster Bombs I was able to get 5-8k crits on each target. so I Like it.

Necro wells have a range of 600 and Cluster Bomb has a range of 900 and is spammable

This suggested rune is way better rune than Runes of the scholar.

Well, not really since the 10% damage requires position. But well, gonna give a try to this runes anyway.

as a D/x thief we try to land backstabs, with the 10% whenever we hit from behind will always give us the damage boost. yes we loose some power and crit dmg but we gain some crit chance and a guaranteed 10% damage from behind no matter how much hp we have.

Anyone else wondering how the griefing is going to be though? The EB JP has always been haven for griefers so I’m anxious to see how that plays out. The south camp gvg spot avoids griefers to some extent cause its a more remote. Is the Arena going to be in kinda a back alley place and secluded? Absolutely looking forward to seeing it though, very glad to have it.

the griefers will die and die and die again until they get bored of getting roflstomped by skilled players and then they cry and go to sleep.

after i saw today a thief trolling a group and killing some of the ppl with just cloak and dagger and 3-4k dmg per attack i think that cheese need to removed from game.

so as suggestion remove dmg-coefficient and lower initcost, then its just a utility or make revealed every time u come out of stealth even without attack. so its not possible to chain attacks that stealth u.

I have used them before and I liked them.
10% extra dmg on a backstab no matter how much HP you have is great... at least for me. I tend to get hit a lot.

A few week ago i got a 10k backstab followed by a 10k heartseeker and died. With pvt warrior. I have no idea how is this possible. Sorry for off, i just wanted to share with you.

thats easy to do, the thief will pass out and die if you tickle him though.

For some reason torment sigil has its own icd which is why that sigil can stack.

people who want to duel and test their skills dont want help and will try to steer clear of the servermate from what I have noticed and what I have done.

I watch the duel and wait to see if one goes down (mainly my servers guy) if they are attempting to stomp I will intervene and stop the stomp and proceed to ROFLstomp the other guy. (if it was my guy I will let him get stomped next time)

My suggestion would be to give more importance to the Player Vs Player/s aspect instead of the Player Vs circle on the ground.

The circles are there to force conflict, allow for build/role variety, and promote large-scale strategy. Chess is player vs. player even though the object is only to checkmate the opposing king. It would be silly to say that chess is player vs. 64 squares.

I get the 3 points are to Force some sort of a fight there but the actual fight (on and off points) should be more rewarding than taking the point.

This is a team-based game. It is beyond me as to why you are playing a team-based game when you clearly want to just run out and play a 1v1 game. It sounds to me that this is not the game for you. I’d suggest you try something else, like Halo or the like.
