51…..GET OFFA MY LAWN!!!!!
(and I complain about most EVERYTHING full time….)
I’m gonna chalk up that “overweight” crack to a lucky guess…..or statistics…..maybe…

When you say “guesting” you mean trying to get a ferry to a server that is working, right?
Guesting to another Server for an open world event would do nothing…..
Just to add a point (I’m not having this issue) on how I WOULD handle it.
Note that since we are not given any details of exactly HOW DR works (for obvious reasons), tossing around info like “it goes away in about an hour”, are in no way guaranteed accurate. I have seen numerous reports that players parking Alts near events and logging in daily to do said events are seeing continual DR on those events for weeks after it first started (not sure WHY they would continue to do those events if they noticed this ??).
As a I recall, the reports were that you needed to zone out and do a few events in another area and then when you load back in to the original zone and do the events again, the DR will be removed. I’m not sure there isn’t some RNG aspect to how DR gets applied and even possibly to reset it (if technically possible, that’s what I would do to keep gold farmers from easily figuring out how to get around it).

So does the one below me then, along with about a hundred others.
You’re exaggerating, but there is a significant number of players having these problems. Per some of the threads I have read, try Guesting to another server when logging in and see if that allows you to continue (the 0% thing is just a display issue and is a byproduct of the “log in hang up” issue…..nothing is actually “damaged” on your character).
Ok…..keep posting here and wait for a Dev to tell you what IC said above….
Have you tired Guesting to another Server and logging in? That seems to correct these types of issues (or at least that’s been reported from those that have had these issues recently).
Name made me chuckle, so it’s fair game for being reported…..sorry.
Sorry to hear your loss.
Note you get ONE restoration total (if it happens again, you will NOT get stuff restored). Due to the single restoration only policy, it is vital that you make SURE you PC, GW2 login and email associated with GW2 account are ALL secure before requesting the restoration. Note that it is EASY for a hacker to compromise your email account (especially if it is a little used account) and keep the compromise undetected. Even if you fee sure your email has not been compromised, you should check any available access logs to be sure.
Also, they do NOT restore anything associated with any Guild resources (as those are not technically part of your account).

Not sure of the general nature of these types of “loading screen forever” issues, but there have been numerous instances of this type of problem over the past few weeks and those that have had the issues have reported that guesting to another server when trying to log in cleared up the issue (once they Guested, logged in ok and then logged out and back in just fine).
I’m guessing that there is some related issues with these log in hangups, but it does not seem to be something a majority of players are seeing (small but not insignificant number of players are experiencing some sort of log in issues).
I would suggest both an in-game report AND posting something in the BUG forum (I haven’t looked, but I’ve got thing there is one or more threads reporting this there). If the problem crops up again, I would suggest submitting a Support ticket.
This would not be possible if the Precursor is trade-able (nor should any Legendary generated from this “freebie” be trade-able).
To be honest, it would need to be a different set of Legendaries than the originals to keep form devaluing the existing Legendary’s. Just my 2 coppers.
The difficulty in obtaining the item has nothing to do with the quality of the skin. The item from the personal story is a LVL 39 BLUE piece of armor….why would it be in any way an exceptionally crafted, high-end, quality item?
The difficulty in obtaining it is simply a side effect of the introduction of the wardrobe system that removed the ability to obtain PvP skins any longer. They do need to review an alter the karma NPCs inventories with less emphasis on stats and more on the skins they offer now that the wardrobe system is in place.
….or from the BL trading post….
I seriously doubt you can generate sustained healing for any length of time (before a significant CD period). Yes, you can generate some serious healing surges when you are geared with Healing Power, but between those surges of healing (that frankly your allies should not really need), you are going to be less than helpful actually KILLING the foes that cause damage to you and your allies.
Unfortunately, this game is pretty focused on the fact that dead foes can’t hurt you….
You cannot directly buy the gear…..it’s Account Bound from crafting (or NPC purchase in case of Trinkets).
Ahhh, ok. Guess that means I might actually have to level my utterly ignored crafting skills after all.
Do some detailed research first. The crafting level is the least of the issues to make that armor…..You need recipes (not available from NPCs) and materials (limited availability now).
Just checked: I would suggest buying a Recipe for Satchel and Inscription off the TP and you are going to need 3000 watchwork sprockets (ouch!). That’s beside all the normal T6 materials and Ectos for Exotic armor.

Wiki is your friend: http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Back_items
From my short search, this does not exist. Closest is Cavaliers Backpack at Temple of Balth in Straits.
You can Forge Tempered Spinal Blades and select Valk stats.
It is unlikely you can sell finished products and make money via crafting.
Components, Insignia or Inscriptions are another story……
Don’t rush to 80 on your first character…..learn to play the game properly…PLEASE.
If there are others lying around, then it’s trash….if this is the only one left in the area, it’s an Easter Egg….
I’m sure hoping they put in Guild Halls before they do personal housing…..
As I recall, it was some sort of protest against Heroes?
They did greatly diminish a monk’s “power” in the game.
You seriously think Ascended Trinket Crafting won’t have time gates? What game have you guys been playing?
I’m sensing some link between 500 Jeweler and Legendary Trinkets….
…….
It’s almost funny, because I recently noticed a game called Vindictus, that came out before GW2 and immediately recognized that GW2 had been developed trying to copy Vindictus. And the thing is, Vindictus looks a million times better not to mention the skills used in fighting which make it actually tactical and fun, unlike GW2. I started playing a character named Hurk and you have to time many of your attacks to the moment you’re going to be hit, which counterattacks and gains health. This sort of reflex-based, hand-eye coordination stuff is what GW2 is sorely lacking because they dumbed down the game in order to allow everyone to play it; the skills and armor are really disappointing.
It’s pretty narrow minded of you to assume your desire for a twitch game combat makes everyone also want that type of gameplay. Nobody is stopping you from playing that game, but trying to make THIS game like THAT one only satisfies one player….you.
(edited by Brother Grimm.5176)
This game was designed with the express intent of NOT having a healer class.
If you ever stood in an outpost in GW1 spamming “LF monk” for 15 minutes, you would get WHY……
You can Dodge every 3 seconds….once (twice if you are a properly speced Thief)
Tossing these GREATLY varied issues in together just destroys any support the OP would garner from me on these issues.
I saw Dueling and just quit reading….keep typing these threads OVER and OVER and see where that gets you.
If you want that feeling back, do some key runs and open BL chests. I usually get 3-5 UIDs from opening 10 chests. Occasionally I get a dye pack.
Are you comparing the resources to create a 3D broom with an actual animated creature large enough for a character to ride on? Seriously?
Yes, I am comparing them. On top of a broom, or on top of a horse, clipping issues are clipping issues and the art team deal with those just fine judging by the speed they turn out new skins with.
I’m not saying clipping issues don’t exist, or that mounts don’t present another challenge in that regard, but this isn’t the ‘90s anymore and mounts in video games aren’t exactly something new or a killer feature that developers give its own bullet point on the box
It’s not a matter of how “challenging” it is or of perfecting the “clipping” issues bound to arise from the effort. It’s a matter of committing the resources (time and labor, both model development, art application, coding, testing, etc.) to DO it as apposed to using those resources for something that might actually be NEEDED elsewhere to add some functionality to the game that doesn’t already exist (a transit system is already in place).
Sure it CAN be done (I have no doubt Mounts are technically feasibly for Anet), but it’s a matter of assigning limited resources to perform tasks that are part of their overall plan. I just don’t see mounts as part of that plan (but I could be totally wrong).
Was going to add that a quick trip thru HotM (PvP) from anywhere will put you closer to the Guild Bank than that WP would (granted, it’s 2 zoning screens and 50 ft romp between portals).
Still sucks the WP is broke (the map needs to be altered to show OUT OF ORDER rather than CONTESTED when you mouse over those).
The solution is to put a Bloodlust sigil on one of you underwater weapons…..stacks will stay in or out of water as long as you don’t CHANGE weapons.
….. Well, i´m asking a company who isnt able to make the kitten rebreather use the stats, rune and infusion of the proper land headgear piece, apparently.
So you think they should fix one exploit an introduce another? Your rebreather IS your underwater headgear, so why should it use your normal one’s stats? The real solution is to put decent crafting and availability of LVL 80 re-breathers with variation in stats not introduce some equipment exception into the game.

While not as secure, have you actually tried to set up you user with Admin Permissions? I’d guess everyone that is NOT having these issues have their users set up as full Admins (I use a logitech trackball that has the Forward/Back buttons and I use them in-game for Jump & Dodge without issues).
Also, this may be an installation option on the Setpoint software (install for ALL users?).
You must be within a certain distance from the Renown Heart NPC for the image to show up on the map for the first time (but you can STILL actually fulfill the objectives without this).
You should be aware that the Been There, Done That (full Map Completion) must be done on a single character while the Exploration Achievements (uncover all the white text areas on the maps) is account wide. This fact can be very confusing if you try to use either to help with the other.
Find the software that assigns your mouse buttons for Windows and make sure it does not have that button assigned to ALT-TAB as that would likely override any in-game assignments.
Didn’t mean to exaggerate….I have no idea the overall material costs of those hammers (just that Juggernaut is a Legendary and Silver Doubloons are crazy expensive.
I have a hunch that Anet has the retirement of zones on some timetable now (so zones will not persist for long periods of time). Gone are the days of harvesting T6 with 8 characters for 2 weeks with no node changes.
’Say hello, Shane….."
Your best bet is to subscribe to their newsletter…..
First load is always going to be lengthy (due to buffers being loaded for the first time).
I wouldn’t be upset if they gave some variety in the loading screens, however. There is plenty of unused concept art out there (but it would bloat the .DAT file).
This is not unusual since there is no true way to obtain an ACTUAL RNG seed number from modern computing systems. Also, if the loot table list is limited, duplicate items are certainly possible.
So you want a pumpkin orange polyester leisure suit with a bright yellow ruffled shirt and gold specked platform shoes?
SWEET!
I’d vote for juggernaut as its really not that common of a legendary and you may nejoy the stat swap functionality. If not I’d go with foefire’s power since playing ele has made mjolnir look common and trivial to me.
Isn’t there a pretty significant gold differential between the 2 the OP is asking about and Juggernaut? I’m thinking he could make both for the price of just the Silver Doubloons needed.
20s / skill point is ridiculously low. You can easily get 1g / skillpoint with a little research in what to promote…..claims of up to 5g / sp when the market is “right” (which it is NOT now as I understand it).
Again…..over and over I see posts here trying to PROVE GW1 allowed for more diverse builds and variation…WHY? Is anyone still following this thread 8 pages later arguing this is NOT the case? It’s like watching a bunch of guys standing outside on a cloudless day stating the sky is so much bluer than at midnight…..(almost funny)!
I get part of it is nostalgia, but none of this reminiscing over GW1 is going to change ANYTHING in GW2…..period.
While I’m not going back to review 8 pages of posts, I’m pretty sure I recall more than a few uses of the word “lazy” (or a form of “lazy”) used to describe GW2 development in this thread. If you want to go review the thread for them, you can certainly do so. If you are going to straight face tell me that “lazy Devs”, is not the number one cry of those that BASH Anet for simplifying GW2, then even more of this discussion is pointless.
I’m not someone who likes gambling on keys, but I couldn’t not have a shot at such a fashionable prize! …..
….thus endeth the lesson….
Gotta hand it to Anet.
I wonder if anyone has gone to any of your places of real employment and asked for a budget spreadsheet? How do you think that would go over?
This place is incredible…..
A very highly subjective issue and the real shame is that those discussing the merits of both sides don’t appear to be intelligent enough to realize that fact….a very pointless discussion (as there is no RIGHT answer to the question…..it’s all subjective to the tastes of the viewers point of reference).
Nice find on a silly little Easter Egg.
I’m sure the Dev that left that there got a good chuckle from this thread.
Just make sure to state that you’re new somewhere in there or in party chat… and try to host the instance.
Exactly the kind of “warning” I was talking about….
That is probably more of a Norn(and Charr) issue than an engineer issue. All their animations are slower because they are still moving at the same speed as everyone else.
True…..my Asura Engi looks like she is under swiftness all the time…it’s just a scaling issue.
……
Profit.
My bad….you tie up your 5% order fee, but do get it back when cancelling the order.
