No. This thread is open to the community for the discussion of makeup on Norn women. It’s only unpleasant for you now for two reasons. Mak-up isn’t lore breaking as you assumed, and you started insulting peoples intelligence. So if you had a real response to my point you should have gone with that. If not, don’t pretend to have a point when you know you don’t. and if you can’t counter a point, maybe your initial outlook of the make-up on norn, isn’t as accurate as you thought it was.
I just don’t care about you man, move on…
At this point you’re not helping your stance at all, in fact your further digging it’s grave.
I use the corrupted skins for all weapons on mine. Worth noting however I also run a “Ice Queen” look, or as close as I can get to said look with current options anyways.
So with the invasions, we are waypointing all over. Aren’t you glad Ellen won? Reduced WP costs?
I’ve made far to much money to give a kitten .
WPs could cost 60 silver each during the invasions and I’d still be making a huge profit.

She would have announced what magic it is that holds her dress up.
Wait wait wait wait wait. You can FIGHT in this new tonic’s form? Not costume brawl, but actual fight? Unique skills as well, or your own weapon skill sets?
While I did not test in it actual combat yet (due to the whole 30 minute thing) you do keep your skills and weapon equipped. So for example, when transformed I could use all my Guardian’s great sword skills and shouts with no issues.
Maybe if they weren’t stuck in the RNG cash boxes…
You can buy them on the TP also, get to it if you want them.
I’ll take GW2 zodiac longbow over any GW1 zodiac weapon.
The fractals are all based on historical events in GW lore, aren’t they? I’ve never done them so I don’t know firsthand, but that was my understanding anyway.
Sylvari are a very young race and don’t have many notable events in their history (the only one that might qualify would be the experiments on Sylvari by Asura that created the Nightmare Court, and I’m not sure how you’d make a combat fractal out of that), so from that perspective it makes sense there’s no Sylvari fractal.
As for Living Story… there aren’t really any LS chapters based on Asura either. Asura often end up playing integral parts in the story, but it never revolves around them. Unless you count SAB, but that was more an activity than a “story”.
just out of curiosity, but where exactly did you read that the nightmare court was a result of asura’s experiements? As far as Im concerned they were founded by a second born who didnt want the tree to be subject to some tablets and instead reveal its “true nature”
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Cadeyrn
Basically said experiments were one reason he began to reject the Tablet’s teachings.

I’d like to point out that I and others would take Magister Sieran over any character in the game so far.
That’s cool and all but I am frankly disappointed that a “sad tune” was not played.
Yeah I was thinking the same……but I couldn’t pass up that one.
Also tip: Not destroyed bodies in the Funhouse is a great way to wipe.
I just wanted to say that I was irritated when I saw how much people on here were slamming Scarlet. I think she is marvelous. The critical people just need to sit back and enjoy. The Queen’s Speech instance had me laughing out loud, marveling at the creativity of Scarlet’s minions, and just generally enjoying myself. It was a pleasure to play. So far, the Living Story villains as a whole—from the Flame & Frost bosses, to the Aetherblades, and so-on, have been great fun.
You probably haven’t seen alot of fantasy stories because most people complaining have legitimate complaints and have seen this cliche character archetype so much it’s annoying to say the least. Heck there’s even a trope bout it it’s used that much.
You realize of course everything has a trope at this point yes? NOTHING is 100% original anymore simply because it’s no longer realistically possible. That does not instantly make something bad however.
Just another way for them to get a money sink out of people that missed it..Greedy Anet is all i think it boils down to.
People like you seriously need to stop tossing that word around until you actually know what it really means to be greedy.
I hope ascended Gear is the Last Step in terms of Gear Treadmill, please Colin, don’t troll around with this.
If they add anything after ascended, I am done with GW2. I didn’t play GW2 for gear treadmill.
Do you feel forced to grind for legendary weapons right now?
No?
Good, the situation would be the same for Legendary armor. At most, it would have the upcoming change that allows you to switch between preset stat combos on Legendary weapons. The amount of stats themselves would be equal.
For some reason the thread reminded me of this…….
The Gundam and DBZ love child, still need to watch that one.
It’s a match made in heaven, really.
I’m thinking the first two posts did not read the OP…….at all. Stiofan is not ASKING to be given the mini. He/She is simply asking if they will have another shot at in the future if he/she can not beat Liadri this time around.
Anyways, Stiofan, as far as I know it has not been confirmed either way. Last I checked while they will bring it back, they are not yet sure if they want to include current enemies + new tiers, or just a completely new set of enemies.
Not that difficult.

Now I understand.
We’ll get more sci-fi things. Why? ANet said that if they’ll create new class, it will be Soldier class. Any soldier class without guardian and warrior weapon? YES!
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Commando
Vehicles? Helicopters? From nowhere? They have to introduce it with living story.
Did you read the disclaimer at the top of your link?
I think it was a joke
At least I hope they knew it was a joke.
I know Scarlet is a sylvari but in a Tyria where the 5 races are pretty much equal why wouldn’t a sylvari be allowed to become a member of the Court?
It’s certainly a fun idea.Impossible, Silvari have only been awake for 2 generations; the First Borns, and us. Somewhere on the wikia it probably states how many years ago that the Silvari emerged, but its relatively recent, as within the last ten years or so recent, which is long after the Mad King was alive.
Mia……you should really get your lore straight before you try to discuss lore. The player Sylvari are 3rd generation at best, but I’m not sure if it has been stated officially which generation player sylvari are. However, the second generation did come about before the player Sylvari. That being said, if I recall correctly Sylvari “birth” has become more and more rapid over time, reaching a point where the distinction of generation means nothing beyond the 2nd.
Anyways, I’ll be honest, when I read the poem for the first time, the sounds of the Clock Tower flooded my head instantly. I can’t say I’d be against that twist.

For some reason the thread reminded me of this…….
Isn’t the current concept art artist team lead, Jamie Ro, a woman?
She also seems to be the person most skilled at character art left after the great artist exodus at Anet. It would be cool to get some dev insight, but I wouldn’t be surprised if she concepted the watchknights herself.
If such is the case, would this affect anyone’s viewpoint on the design?
She is lead concept artist last I check, yes. So I’d be shocked if she did not have some say in the design.
For a second I thought this was a necro from Flame and Frost
Then I realized this is just the typical forum thread complaining about stuff that people had cried for previously.
None of the male light cultural glows, while all the female light cultural does. Its pretty disappointing.
Apparently someone at Anet has the idea that guys don’t want to glow.
Only light female T2 glows. Tier 1 and 3 don’t glow either.
Is this true for all the other armors— heavy and medium? Or none of those have a glow?
I know tier 3 heavy, tier 3 med, and tier 2 med glow for female. Not sure on the others.
I’m honestly not sure what the point of this thread is anymore. At this point NO ONE is bringing any new argument to the table, and NO ONE is budging from their stance no matter how good or bad the arguments are ( and there is a ton of both), and with no replies from a Anet employee to boot to show they even really see this as a problem.

There’s no stealth inside the arena. That mechanic is working as intended. As for spawning on a mine, I’ve never seen that happen. Perhaps you walked over one?
That would explain why it didn’t work, but then why rule out a number of class mechanics? Is there an npc that explains this?
You may not have seen it happen. This doesn’t mean that it can’t. No, I spawned on top of a mine, not dead centre but underneath its circle.
Could you repeat it and if so provide a screen shot? Not saying I don’t believe you, but this would be the first time I have heard of this bug.
You’re mad, I get it. She’s hard, just keep trying.
No thanks, my time is valuable.
Yet it begs the question why you’re not earning a living streaming how great you are while playing the game.
Maybe.. just maybe… there’s no skill involved in memorizing deterministic mechanics and executing them.
Chimps are very good at the aforementioned, usually better than most humans, but you don’t see them building rockets.
You’re aware you just insulted yourself right?
I believe people who voted for Kiel hadn’t even read the website update of what the rewards would be, Evons rewards were better I mean comeone, it’s Abaddon stuff!
Well I wasn’t thinking the abaddon stuff would be a fractal, I was more thinking that we would be going to the Ring of Fire in Tyria and explore some new cool stuff there. But that’s just me.
This sums up my reaction to this tread, thank you Pixel.
It always strikes me as bizarre how some people need to cram “fantasy” into the tiniest conceptual box possible for it to count as “fantasy”. Medieval knights and castles =/= fantasy by a long run and airships do not somehow make something less fantastical (rather, they make something MORE fantastical by being impossible in the absence of any attempted scientific explanation).
It’s not the fact that things like Airships exist in the game. It’s how they relate to the lore as it’s presented to us. It’s hard to continue believing that the entire Elder Dragon thing is serious at all when we suddenly have the kind of technology that we had at the end of the Zhaitan story. That went way beyond just “Steampunk” or “Magitech” stuff.
From a gameplay perspective, you’re right, the Dragons don’t seem like a threat considering we cut right through Zhaitan with one shot. However, remember that Anet themselves have admitted they dropped the ball on this fight as it was only completely a few days before release. So yeah, this absolutely right to question it from a gameplay perspective.
From a lore perspective however, you have to look into what we did BEFORE cutting through him with a laser. We essentially crippled him by starving him. Now while I do not know how long the invasion of Orr took from a story perspective, I can’t imagine it was less then a few weeks at least. After being starved for a week, you tell me if you would be difficult to take in a fight.
Second, we cut off a large supply of his forces. We didn’t eliminate all of his ability to reinforce his army, but we did deal a large blow to it. Part of Zhaitan’s strength was his ability to continuously reinforce his army faster then any living army could possibly hope to.
Not only that, but part of his power relied on the heart of Orr being corrupted and under his control, the mission before fighting him, we took that away from him further weakening him. In fact Orr was the reason Zhaitan launched his assault so early while the other Dragons are doing their own thing.
Now, what does this mean for the other Dragons? As far as I know, they do not all (if any) have the same system as Zhaitan had. That being a second “mouth” he relied on for example. As such, that would be one less thing we could remove from from them. Zhaitan’s greatest strengths were his greatest vulnerabilities essentially. The other Dragons do not suffer from that as far as I know.
Second, with the fall of one Elder Dragon, it’s likely to give the others pause. We essentially caught Zhaitan off-guard. He likely did not expect just how powerful the current dominate races are, and likely the other Dragons did not as well. I’d be utterly shocked if the Elder Dragons are not aware of when one of their kind dies, and so we no longer have that element of surprise. Not only that, but the Dragons only grow stronger with time. It’s highly likely they are/will bide their time.

The only one time event I would care to see, is them dropping a nuke on Southsun.
Great… Karkazilla.
That’s ok, because then it would be Cantha’s problem. =P
Obviously you have not seen Pacific Rim! Them Kaiju have expanded their tastes.

My guess it will be 1 set a day or something like that.
I personally think unless you are a norn or Charr all the greatswords look silly on Meswmers – they are just to big and look kinda silly :/
Well, it helps that Charr have some the best animations in the games when it comes to weapons.
i hate these teletubbies looking pokemons… kiddy looks and annoying as voice overs.
Quaggan gonna foo up your day.

I show titles, but it tends to be based on my character.
For example, my Guardian would be the title from Flame and Frost
My necro or mesmer on the other hand might use the Mad King title.
Generally if I have a character but no title I feel fits it, I’ll go without a title. Some titles I just don’t use period because they’re just…….eh to me, Golden for example I recently achieved but I’ll never display because it’s simply not interesting.
Lol fanboys i see. It’s ok once a new game comes out this one is gone. I am sick of getting suspensions for say kittento people who are utterly rude and disrespectful even if they don’t cure. So what i have a mouth, comes from 11yrs in the military. You don’t like it turn on you Fn filter!
Oh you’re just adorable.
It’s like a angry Tickle Me Elmo!

Medieval knights and castles =/= fantasy by a long run and airships do not somehow make something less fantastical (rather, they make something MORE fantastical by being impossible in the absence of any attempted scientific explanation).
Furthermore, the classic “cyberpunk” themes of ubiquitous internet and information technology are completely and utterly absent from this game, no matter how many golems and steampunk airships exist, making that argument a non-starter. Constructs and artificially created being have been a solid theme in mythology since the ancient greeks as well as fantastic flying mechanisms, so there really isn’t anything stopping the game from being 100%, genuine fantasy.
Pretty much summed up my thoughts.
Fantasy has so much potential to expand, yet people are so obsessed with holding it back.

Hey.. You’ve been doing this since GW1… How do you keep repeating yourself over and over and still remain positive?
Personally, I don’t know how you do it…..
If anyone deserves a “God Walking Amongst Mere Mortals” title, it’s probably Gaile Gray and everyone else who interacts with customers on a regular basis. The amount of patience displayed in the face of the negativity of some of the posts on here (of which I admit I am occasionally guilty as well) is quite incredible. Kudos to Gaile Gray and all the devs and all CS. Y’all are awesome.
Agreed so bloody hard
I found it ironic that the Living Story events that took place in Lion’s Arch, the racial diversity capital of Tyria, focused on Kasmeer, Marjory, Kiel and Mai – all human females.
There is a huge bias towards humans in GW2. Most players play them, most armour is designed for them (sucks to be a charr) and the story is now revolving around them. Hopefully soon we will see less of a focus on the humans and more integration of the other races. We still don’t have a sylvari or asuran protagonist in the Living Story.
To the one who said “anet can’t win with US people”, this post is for you.. It’s not that it’s one instance, it’s that in almost every living story update, the central focus has been a human female.
Funny, for about four months the two major characters focused on were a male norn and a female charr.
With the cut throat politics it was a male charr (who my opinion was more interesting) and a human female.
And between those two, we had a male Sylvari villain as the focus of the plot.
Once again, Anet can’t win with you people. You can be sure this same topic will appear when we eventually get a major focus on Sylvari for example and they’ll probably bring up Trahearne.
Yep. Completely ignore every point I’ve made and just throw in something I’ve already addressed and why it’s not the same as what we have now.
Those threats that revolved around the Molten Alliance had nothing to do with the Norn or Charr except for that those are the first of the major races to have been attacked by the new alliance.
The Flame and Frost was not a living story about Norn or Charr and if you think that then there’s not much else I can say because you clearly weren’t paying attention.
So the focus on saving Charr and Norn refugees and making sure they are not pushed further out of their own lands is not a focus on their race?
You have some rather strange…….opinions…..then.
Ok saving Charr and Norn and Grawl and other race refugees was not a focus on those races. It was a focus on a threat to Tyria and if they weren’t stopped it would be more than just the Charr and Norn that were being displaced, it would have eventually spread to Humans Asura and Sylvari as well.
You have some rather…. strange…. story comprehension……
Exactly, it would have been, but the focus was on the Charr and the Norn stopping it before it became that. And as Shiren pointed out above, Flame and Frost is also victim to being the first real living story. That doesn’t change the fact that it was focused on the Norn and Charr.
Even if you refuse to admit the Norn, you can not refuse to admit the Charr due to the Flame Legion because……..guess what? Charr

Oh, and lets not forget the Jenna is just as important to the Charr as she is to Humanity due to the truce.

I find it hilarious that for months people were complaining that everything was to focused on Lion’s Arch ( the cultural melting pot of the game)………….and now we’re complaining about it being human focused.
Anet just can’t win with you people.
(Note: You probably have to be British to know what I’m on about)
Or just watch Doctor Who like I do.
According to data miners on reddit such as that_shaman, there is something important enough in the next update that the data miners are refusing to spoil it.
Take of that what you will
Zombie Rurik
http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Undead_Prince_Rurik
oh man, this thread is awesome. Speaking of Mhenlo and Cynn, they have to have a descendant. right? Really I would love to fight descendants of GW1 heroes. Oh and let’s not forget Moa’vu’Kaal, Kanaxia, one of the Ossa, a or a few minion(s) of Palawa Joko(who I’m surprised there’s not mention of him in fields of ruin anywhere)
In I believe Rurikton, you can find the descendants of some of the Prophecies henchmen. Forget who exactly
Meh, some people charge for ports (although honestly this is pretty uncommon because of how easy it is for another Mesmer to come around and simply ask for tips, completely killing off the other Mesmer. I did it all the time back when people needed the skipping stones puzzle)
In GW1, people sold “runs” from early outposts to MUCH further outposts.
It’s nothing new and honestly, not really a problem.
All they’re really doing is selling a service.
I honestly didn’t like most of Southsun. I just don’t like the zone and I didn’t like the story, the first time or the second time. and you’re right. Kiel is boring. She was boring during the investigation thing too. Apparently Scarlet might be the mysterious figure from the queen’s Jubilee opening ceremony. But still, we don’t even know if it’s a Sylvari
Really? Really….? You don’t know if it’s Sylvari?
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/images/1/10/Suspicious_Figure.jpg
REALLY?
I was kind of thinking the same thing….
Grebo – 8,5/10
. It’s not that I really like the look of the character you posted – because I don’t, but I have to admit that it matches engineer perfectly, and color choices are good – especially metal parts. And having a jetpack is an excellent idea, it really gives your toon “techno” feel.
Point taken for facial choice (too young and too “smooth”) but thats the bane of human male models in general in GW 2 and I shaved off half point for my personal dislike of overwhelming presence of trenchcoats in general.Another of my wife’s norn females – This time it is guardian.
10/10, yellow is good! This is my necro.
8/10! Its very unique, something i really like, it shows creativity and that you don’t go with the normal black look! Nice!
This is my necro… I don’t like the colours, since it very mainstream.. But im still working on it.
I don’t know, I like it, good use of the wraith mask and such and I don’t see those colors together all that often tbh.
8/10
And because I never liked simple screen shots due to being difficult to get good ones on this character
(Edit: Also anyone have any suggestions for a free recording program? Not a fan of the bandicam website at the top)

I feel I should point out that in the eyes of the media these days, those statues would in fact be labeled as “fat” unfortunately.
True….and it’s confusing, too. I dunno who’s driving that, because neither I nor any men I know happen to like this, “70-pound, skeleton totally visible, no actual apparent feminine parts” image that’s been portrayed in recent years as “sexy”.
Honestly this isn’t the first time, from what I’ve read society didn’t give a kitten about women and hairy legs till someone started marketing it as a big deal.
