Anyone who puts restrictions based on AP or armor type are looking to be carried, I would avoid those groups.

It just so happens all classes can compete in dungeons/fractals. Most pugs don’t understand WHY they even stack, or what the use of any class beside the ‘elite’ 4 are. (warrior, guardian, ele and thief)

Rangers, Necros, Engineers all have this horrible stigma, but they’re all very viable creating a smooth run. If you don’t care about speed runs, make your own group. If you’re going to play a class with a stigma, play it very well.

There is not much point in bringing more than 1 warrior, and 2 guardians is only useful if you seriously need THAT much reflection. If someone wants heavy-only then they’re looking for crutches.

Have you read much in the dungeon forum? (This thread really belongs there.) I’d say his argument is much more coherent than yours. I don’t think Engineer or Necro is ever optimal for dungeons (and Mesmer is somewhat limited) — but all these classes can work if you have an appropriate build and know how to use it.

A single Ranger is often part of speed clear teams (spotter and frost spirit); if you trait appropriately and use melee rather than ranged (and you can deal with 1h-sword’s quirks) then Ranger is a great class (and fun).

I have 80s of all classes; I mostly play Elementalist and Guard (AP over 16k) because I enjoy their gameplay, but I agree that PUGs imposing hard class or AP restrictions are generally looking for crutches — you’re better off with another PUG or a group you know.

I’m sure you can deal with every class if you really wanted to. In this case, yes it does. You have the most experience with the dragons both as a front line fighter and a commander. So of course you’re the de-facto leader/boss.

Your going by the idea that Taimi is disabled so we have to pity her, this actually is increasingly offensive to people that “are” disabled who despise being pitied in the first place on account we try very hard to cope with our day to day disabilities and the last thing we want, is to be reminded they exist in a world outside the real one.

I have to disagree with you on a lot of points here.

Tiami does not inspire me to pity her. I find that I tend to admire her quite a bit for her personal strength and ingenuity. She does not let the fact that she has this disease hold her down. She charges forward (sometimes recklessly) and lives her life. She doesn’t want our pity, and I’m pretty sure if my character started doing that, she’d conk me on the head with her golem’s fist. When she hits an obstacle, she finds a way to overcome it, the creation of her golem is a perfect example of that. She’s not letting the disease stop her, and that is very worth admiring in a person.

There are too many in real life that do pull the ‘pity me, I’m not right’ card. Too many that think they can’t live thier life or be their own person because they have a disease or a handicap. This fictional character is an inspiration that proves otherwise.

Braham, hurts me, even looking at him I am treated as a man like an idiot being reminded that this guy is incompetent at anything because all he does is think with his muscle.

Have you ever considered some men actually don’t “have” muscle to think with and thus have to depend on other aspects of their abilities, or the fact we have the capacity to “think” with a brain.

This form of writing is forced dialogue to make a character seem like a stereotypical depiction of a gender, its the jar jar binx syndrome that made JJB so hated by the star wars fans.

You don’t get to do that to men and not expect backlash for it.

Braham is a typical Norn. Even females (outside of Eir, who is not quite like other Norn) are portrayed as ‘hit first, ask questions later.’ It’s the type of people his race are. It was more obvious in GW1, but you can still see it in the conversation with the females in this game. They are great hunters, fighters. It has nothing to do with his being ‘male.’ Jora was pretty much the exact same way.

Jory and Kas relationship is enjoyable, but forced

When it built up to the kiss it was something special, now, unfortunately it looses its flare because we no longer have a purpose to serve other than to remind you that “aww we have a lesbian couple in our game”.

Actually, I see them acting a lot like any typical couple in a ‘newly formed’ relationship. The rose colored glasses are on full blast atm. Is it corny? Yes. Is it cheesy? Yes. Is it sometimes uncomfortable for the outside party to watch? Oh yeah. However, this is no different than any other lovey dovey, just starting out couple either. They coo at each other, make the big eyes, try out a variety of pet names to see which ‘feel’ right, etc. It really doesn’t matter (much) that the world could be ending around them because, right now, all that exists (to them) is each other.

Wisdom comes with time and age. Braham is young, and very typical Norn in his approach to life. (Not to mention he has issues with Eir) It doesn’t come from having a sit down with your parent. If it did, our own kids would learn from our mistakes, never make their own, and have perfect lives. Personally, I’ve never seen it work that way…. so it not working that way in game in much more realistic.

Gonna agree, this episode easily beat everything prior. Personal story, LS1, you name it and it has been beat. It’s obvious Anet has learned from the past.

There honestly was not a single thing that fell flat to me. The writing was massively improved, facial animations improved, cut scenes done much better etc.

That’s what I’m thinking as well. I don’t quite recognize the layout. I assume it’s near the Seraph Camp just East of Fort Selma because those wood spikes look like what lines its walls. I blame the camera shot but very interesting.

I wonder if this means Kissex Hills would/will grow back just… differently than what it was like originally. Now, I always wanted Kissex Hills to originally return to a lush green area like it was at launch and didn’t like how the Nightmare Tower destroyed a lot of it. So if this is a sign of overgrowth taking place here, I think that would be awesome. It wouldn’t be the exact same Kissex because we have debris all over the place but vicious looking palms wrapped in vines and the barren wastland turned into a ripe-green thicket of thorns twenty if not more feet high would be awesome.

I’ve been commenting on threads like this for decades, being a female in gaming.

Choice, which is what OP wanted, is always good. To the posters that said, throw realism out the window, that’s good too. Rather than have players come argue about which opinion wins, and for which armor, just give players choices. More choices equal more gamers happy with how their character looks and thus more money.

Gaming, as an industry, also needs to be a tad less … obtuse. More women game, and many more women, gaming and non-gaming, control more of the household budget now. While ANet doesn’t 100% fall into this trap, only young teen males being happy with the choices will confine the game to heavy competition in a saturated space, with less people willing to help them buy it. Honestly, ANet isn’t half bad with options compared to much of the genre. They should keep it up though, and I support OP.

We know that Scarlet used the Breachmaker to direct a surge of energy from the ley-line to Mordremoths sleeping place. I am wondering if redirecting the flow of magic in the ley-line did not cause it to become permanently connected to Mordremoth. This could potentially allow him to feed on a much more rapid rate than he did.

My guess is that Mordremoth has not awakended yet, he is in a sort of pre-awakening state, and needs more magic to do so. As a dragon connected with plants, he might be using the vines as a root system to suck on magic from every major source (much like Mouths of Zhaitan). Or this might be a sign that a major branch of the ley-line became somewhat corrupted by Mordremoth linked to it.

And how do you propose Mordi knows what happened to Zhitan? Did he leave Mordi a voice mail? As far as we know Mordi has been asleep till scarlet woke him up.

Mord has been in Scarlet’s mind, it’s pretty safe to assume she knows about Zhaitan’s death unless you’re seriously gonna tell me news like that doesn’t spread fast. Anything Scarlet knew, so did Mord.

That and it was described in the story as being the case for Zhaitan. All of the dragons minions and champions act as conduits for reconnaissance. Not only in assimilating the individual does a dragon learn who they are but also what they know. We also don’t know how long Mord has been active while asleep, as he was only awoken recently but clearly Scarlet had been under his influence (whether sylvari are minions or not) for some time prior.

We do not know if it was Mordi. People keep moaning this with zero evidance to back it up. It’s best guess work. As I said in an earlier post, the voices could be anything. From her just being nuts. To it acutely being Mordi. We do not know. So just saying yeah it’s because he can read her mind is not an answer it’s a guess.

Then please do explain to me what other insanely powerful jungle related force it could be if not an elder dragon, beings known for corrupting the mines of lesser beings?

This has been possible since release IIRC, yet other bugs that actually harm the class (and there are a kitten load of those) STILL have yet to be fixed. Who the kitten fixes a “bug” that helps a class first instead of focusing on the ones that KILL the class in certain scenarios?

Now, one may be asking, if I wanted a black witch character, why didn’t I get necro? In response to that, I have a few reasons.

1. I already have a necro, my norn who is a sort of wraith theme.

2. I REALLY wanted a character that could use staff almost exclusively and still be useful in everything. As such, Ele was the clear choice.

3. The black mage/witch arch type has never been exclusively about necromancy.

I am thoroughly disappointed with LS 2.

The new ‘map’ so small it must have taken 5 minutes to create. Same with the story-line.

And.. jumping? well at-least they don’t have to balance that…

Yup, it takes a mere 5 minutes to write dialogue, create concept art for environments, render said environment, make said environment playable, etc.

DE version 2 seems to have found an entrance to the ley line chamber Scarlet was investigating. That is the part from 0:13 to 0:22. You can see the same aurora around the bottom part of the Breachmaker in Lion’s Arch. I have no clue, however, what the pyramid at the end is.

Probably something to do the the eternal alchemy/Inquest lab.

That is most definitely the pact camp looking from the west. Good to see that the effects of Mordremoth are spreading out…but that far? All the way in Timberlines across the sea?

Doesn’t make any sense. It would be better if the vines stretched into Rata Sum or anywhere along the Tarnished Coast…

It actually makes sense if you consider that Scarlet’s mind was Morde’s mind. She obviously knew about the pact and the death of Zhaitan, and as such so does Morde. It makes sense for him to directly attack their bases before they can confirm he exists by keeping his vines traveling below the ground.

Mmm good idea, though it sort of dampens the lore realistically. I mean, what’s stopping Mordremoth from summoning vines to kill Jennah or Ellen Kiel (#teamevon!)

True, it’s possible he just doesn’t see them as a threat. I mean let’s be honest, Lion’s Arch and the Krytan royalty did jack all for the Zhaitan offensive.

That might actually be rather interesting, and might suggest that it knows exactly what Scarlet did, and as such uses her knowledge of (mobile) waypoints in order to find and disable them.
Or simply follow them to the enemies bases.

What would be cool is if Mordremoth took control of an entire map and closed it off for 2 weeks (sorry map completionists!). All WP’s disabled, and all portals blocked off by thick vines

After we finally burn down those vines we come up with Timberline falls full of green and thorns and no more snow.

And at the center we see what Mordremoth was doing all along…empowering one of his champions.

And that’s how a metaevent is born.

Part of me loves that idea, the other would cry at the loss of such a beautiful map.

Okay we can take a dreadful map that everyone hates…Snowden Drifts or Mount Maelstrom
