Super Adventure Box will likely not be back any time soon.
I have to assume you know about the upcoming expansion, yes? With new maps, new class, new weapons, elite specializations, etc.? If that isn’t enough content for you this year, then I really don’t know what to say.
Icing on the cake would be a surprise perma-Super Adventure Box announcement.

Maybe they should just put in a “Dispense Daily Reward” button.
No dailies required. Gives the same reward, but puts a 24hr symbol of a crying baby over your head until the daily reset…
They did this.
What do you think log-in rewards are? That’s why this is all so absurd. People want to play not even 10% of the game to get their few AP, when everything else about the former rewards is already given automatically.
It’s… at what point did, to those thinking this is an unfair combination of dailies, ‘get the reward’ supersede ‘play the game’ in your head, people? At what point did Pavlovian training win out and you started pushing that log-in button just for the 10 AP?
Preaching to the choir, my friend. It just blows my mind how people can still get upset that they gasp have to do something they don’t want to, to get marginal additional rewards. (EDIT: When I said Daily Rewards I meant the new ones ie 10AP/3shards)
I’m just waiting for the day when you can simply type in what level character you want. How much gold you want. What skins you want unlocked. How much AP you want. What legendaries and ascended gear you want. And then load your character up with it from character creation…
But I’m sure somehow people will complain that it isn’t fair they are forced to type in that information manually and Anet should automatically max everything out for them.
Why is it acceptable for PVP players to get their dailies done in fifteen minutes without ever having do to game modes they don’t like, but unacceptable when PvE players want the same thing?
TIL Fractals and Dungeons aren’t PvE……
Come on man, you didnt really just go there ?
Bah, you took my comeback!
PvP is a game mode, WvW is a game mode, and PvE is a game mode. Nobody in PvP or WvW are complaining. The ones complaining are the PvEers that have decided they want to pick and choose what they do and don’t want to do within their own category.
It’s like if someone was complaining that the PvP dailies force him to capture points or kill people because they only want to treb on Khylo and should be able to play the way they want and still complete their dailies.
Or a WvWer who only likes capturing Ruins complains that they are “forced” to capture camps or sentries or engage enemy players.
If you want to only play a segment of your game mode, then you may not be able to get your daily done. That’s pretty much the long and short of it.

Perhaps you have subconscious troll tendencies?
Nope, trolls are just annoyances who look for how to get under people’s skins. I believe in karma and the quicker the better.
I hate to admit this, but my brother is a troll. In fact, he has no qualms admitting it. He 100% gets his kicks from simply imagining how annoyed the person he is trolling must be. He will crack himself up about it and just keep doing it, slowing imagining their annoyance growing, and growing, and finally bubbling up into a ragequit, which is the ultimate fun for him. I hate him so much sometimes lol. But kitten he’s my brother, blood is thicker than trolls.
I’m just saying that your comment about finding fun in imagining them being annoyed is exactly his definition of fun. Maybe you are a justice troll. Trolling common thugs and ne’er-do-wells. Just be sure to use your powers for good and not evil.

It was fun in the sense of imagining an annoyance slowly turning on a spit over a fire.
I know you definitely didn’t mean any real harm in it, but your description above is exactly the kind of fun that trolls and griefers live for. They get enjoyment at the thought that what they are doing is really annoying the person on the other end, and even better if they start to rage. That’s basically winning for a troll/griefer.

It’s just occasionally that he can’t do them all in openworld PVE, as double fractals come up.
Firstly, I appreciate your candor. Secondly, I think this line sums it up the best. Occasionally this person can’t do them all in <insert his preferred playstyle>. Even if they did add more options, at some point there will be someone that can’t get them all done in <insert their preferred playstyle>. They can’t please everyone, but they can please the majority, most of the time. Occasionally they can’t, and in those instances, those people might simply have to either choose not to get their 10AP/3 spirit shards, or venture out of their comfort zone for 15min.
To me it seems a bit unreasonable to have Anet invest time and money to address a scenario that only comes up occasionally and that already has a simple, free, and easy solution: don’t do it / briefly play content you aren’t crazy about.
It’s a medical condition, they say its terminal….
OP, just try to ignore all this negativity and the trollish assumptions and manufactured allegations against you.
Hopefully, someone from Anet will have read this thread and will have taken on board what you have said and what you meant by it.
Hopefully, they will realise (as some of us have) that you are being perfectly reasonable in your request and will just, at some point, add a couple more options to the daily list, to ensure people have a little more choice, without having to do parts of the game they find particularly unpleasant, or stressful, for whatever reason.
After all, this is supposed to be a fairly casual, online game; not an unpleasant, inflexible job.

No one is asking for that.
Might be a good thing for you though, since people asking for changes to dailies bothers you so much.
Clearly my comment was in jest, but seriously, it might as well be.
The arguments are basically this, “I want to get the daily reward, but I don’t want to have to do anything I don’t want to in order to get it.” And somehow you (and I guess others), find this reasonable…
I just took it to an extreme for teh humor.
What if someone only likes doing RP. Do we somehow need to accommodate that, too? Like have 3 dailies that revolve around walking through capital cities emote-speaking?
Or what if I really don’t like to do anything but Silverwastes chest farm. Like I don’t want to do anything else but that. Now I can get up in arms about how I can’t get my daily done while only doing SW farming? “Why do I have to do events in Queensdale!! Why do I need to go see a Shiverpeaks vista!! Anet whyyyyyy!! I don’t like doing those things, I thought this was play how you like!! More like play how Anet likes huehuehue”

Friends, Romans, Charrs…
As far as I can tell the wedding dress hasn’t been put in the gemstore yet, and so I would like to point out a small problem prior to launch…
This is not how garters work.
The purpose of a garter is to hold up socks or stockings. Garters are itchy and while sexy they tend to look pretty silly unless they are also serving their initial purpose. (For more information, click here)
Which brings us to the issue at hand.
The female human wedding outfit does not include stockings and yet the dress is cut high enough to reveal a garter. I am requesting a fix by either removing the garter or adding the stocking.
Thank you.
As someone who was somewhat recently married and has been to many weddings, the wedding garter is mostly traditional and has nothing to do with its intended purpose. They are almost always worn without holding up anything for the sole purpose of being taken off and tossed to the awaiting men (like the bouqet for women). At least that is U.S. tradition.

I have met players I have reported in the past that did not encounter a ban or any kind of punishment for breaching the community rules.
How do you know they didn’t get a temporary ban? Did you go out of your way to unblock someone that was harassing you and whisper them asking if they have by chance been punished for a report you filed against them?
I know if someone whispered me asking if I had been banned, even if I was, I would deny it, so I can only assume someone who was actually banned would as well.
So how do you know??

Any build can get you through all of the content in the game. That makes it viable. Some are simply more efficient at it.
When a metasheep says builds aren’t viable, what they mean is that it is not optimal. All builds are viable.

50% faster = activate in 2/3 the time.
i’m not sure if after cast is affected.
Is that really how it works?
If something takes 2 seconds to cast, wouldn’t 50% faster be 1 second to cast (50% of 2 is 1)? You’re saying that it would be a 1.33sec cast, 33% faster (or 2/3 of the 2sec cast)?
Increasing cast speed actually decreases the length of the cast.

We require 100% rep, but honestly it has nothing to do with influence and everything to do with building a long-lasting community. We always allowed members to join multiple guilds if they wanted, but they could only rep us, unless of course they are using a personal guild bank, or running in TTS or something temporarily.
With these new changes nothing will change on our end, but our members that currently are in other guilds will now be able to communicate with them easily, which is a big plus.

Basically, the “choice” is toe the melee line, or be treated like a noob, kicked and/or insulted.
Or form your own party… Stop pretending only people asking for zerk runs can do that. There is a very clear and obvious choice, stop pretending to be a victim when you’re just being lazy.
Don’t think you read my post properly.
Making your own groups is both something you shouldn’t have to do, to avoid these kind of issues and also something that won’t even, fully, solve the issues, even if you do.
It’s just papering over the cracks…
Shouldn’t have to do? Really?
You nor Anet can control people. It is literally impossible to somehow gauge who will or won’t be toxic, so you need to take some kitten initiative and use the tools available to create the atmosphere you want. Plenty of people have already given you the information you need to avoid toxicity in fractals (to the best of anyone’s ability—toxic players typically are a specific type of player) and your only response is that you shouldn’t have to do that? Why not? You think Anet will go around policing every group to make sure no one’s feelings get hurt?
Kids these days, don’t want to do anything for themselves, it’s always someone else’s job to do it for them, sheesh….

I never miss a daily. Easy 10AP. In most cases you can do them in under 10min. I think my record was 3min with a Maguuma Lumberer, WvW Big Spender, and Mystic Forger.
If you restrict yourself to PvE only it can take much longer with those Events.
I just look for the following:
a) <Zone> <Gathering> (if you have a stocked home instance its super fast, just go to corresponding capital)
b) Mystic Forger (cheap sigils/runes, can buy on TP, or just hold onto some in your bank for when it comes up, throw in forge)
c) WvW Big Spender (load up EoTM, go to siege vendor guy, 2nd tab, buy 5 Flame rams)
d) <Zone> Vista Viewer (I usually do them in the capitals as well, or in Orr there are some real easy ones to get to)
e) WvW Veteran Creature Killer (load into whichever BL starts you off at bottom right area, NE of the camp that is directly N of spawn location is a Veteran Harpy, just kill that, very rare that there are enemies around, if it’s not there, just hang out for a few, it will spawn eventually)
f) WvW Caravan Disruptor (this is an alternate as it can be dodgy at times, hop into a BL, look for any enemy caravans that may be near to your spawn point. Bee line it and just kill one dolyak, that’s it)
g) WvW Land Claimer (just need to capture a Sentry point, usually the Sentries in the center of BLs where the ruins are go unnoticed. Very easy to run there and kill them, but I always go after whatever is closest, even if it means jumping BL to BL)
h) WvW Master of Ruins (go to your home BL, then WP to your garrison, assuming the WP is up, then jump into water, and go to nearest ruin)
i) And finally, if all else fails and none of these are feasible, pretty much one PvP match will get it for you.

I never run with toxic players and I run FoTM regularly. How, you ask? Because I create the LFG and I clearly post “meta not required”. This specifically weeds out any of the speedclearers who wouldn’t be caught dead in a group that isn’t max DPS.
If your only gripe is with the toxicity, then do something about it. I run a Celestial LB/GS ranger in FoTM1-30, and PVT Guard with cleric trinkets for 30-50. Never have a problem completing any of them nor a problem with toxicity, because I always post the LFG and am clear what the run is about. It also helps that I’m not an incompetent player.
Who the heck speedruns fotm1 anyway. What a waste of time.

AP has a loose correlation to player experience. However, experience does not equate to skill. That’s been known for a long time now.
For example, in a FoTM32 run- I posted in LFG stating ‘meta not required’, but have 35+AR, which is well and good and honestly in a fotm32 I expected to get players that knew what they were doing but just didn’t necessarily have zerker gear. That’s been my experience anyway.
Good group save for one warrior. 17k AP LB Warrior. And when I say LB warrior, I mean they literally never swapped weapons to anything else. Ever. Not once. At no point did they even attempt to try a different weapon.
When I asked what their alternate weapon was, they said rifle. I about fainted. I asked if they at least had a GS on them that they could swap to, and of course they did not.
Somehow we managed to limp through until Grawl Shaman. It’s like they’ve never even seen that boss before. Would stand still while attacking it, soaking up burn damage until downed. Would continue to attack boss (after shield down) while elementals ran amok.
After 8 or so miserable attempts, I literally had to pretend we were calling it a day, whispered everyone else to play along, let the warrior leave (as I’m not one to kick when I specifically said no meta required), and then replaced them with someone else and we finished it next attempt.
So AP means absolutely nothing other than they’ve been playing the game awhile. I don’t agree we should hide it, but we certainly need to try and change the dynamic that high AP = high skill, when its more like high AP = high hours played.
It’s a medical condition, they say its terminal….
It’s really no different than just simply leveling as far as I can tell. Don’t know what else you really expect.
I see no problem with it. Gives people something to work towards post 80.

I love it when people ask me what skin I have. So please, ask away!!
Don’t want inspect option unless it is strictly to show the skins. As someone that runs fotm50s in gasp non-meta gear, I don’t need hassling from some meta sheep about how I’m not in full zerker.

Might as well pull numbers from people who play GW2 through Steam, as they would be equally as useful.
(and yes I know you would have to go out of your way to add GW2 to your Steam library and then start it through Steam, that’s the point)

Also, a part of that money comes from sponsors, so just part of that money come from Anet and that comes from the marketing budget, so I see no problem at all.
The majority of prize money and any prizes in almost every tournament, gaming or not, typically come from sponsors. I don’t think people quite understand that.
It’s a medical condition, they say its terminal….
I’m a relatively “end-game” player. Roughly 5400 hours have seen me crossing and re-crossing Tyria.
Recently, I’ve been looking to get or build my second legendary, The Incinerator.
Here’s my point; I could easily choose to buy the gems and buy the pretty dagger. The problem isn’t finance it’s the principle of the thing. Speculation has driven the price to something like 300 USD.
That’s just insulting. So, I gameplay for the money. It’s slower, but I don’t feel like I’m being ripped off.
So, ANET loses the money from that transaction. I’d spend 100 USD for a vanity item, but 300 is just beyond the pale for a video game.
In high school history class we would have called this a case of “elastic demand.”
My suggestion; ANET should cap trading post prices to nerf speculation. This will ultimately increase micro transactions and serve the game by keeping prices reasonable.
I don’t think that would have the intended effect you think it would. While you may be cool with spending $100 for a vanity item, I would dare say a majority of players are still willing to spend exactly $0 for a vanity item. Capping trade post prices would just make items easier to get for everybody (which I’m not against in theory, but I’m against it from the principle of a ‘free economy’ perspective). I don’t think it would translate to more micro-transactions at all. If anything it would make people grind more because items would seem more in reach without having to resort to buying gems.
It’s a medical condition, they say its terminal….
No thanks, it would just make all the paths easier in this mode. You can already solo most dungeon paths. This is basically asking for solo dungeon easy mode. If you want to do dungeons solo, go learn to do them solo. Grind your face against a boss until you get good at it.
I guess I could understand it for story mode, so that people can complete the relevant content, but definitely not for explorable.
I agree it should just be for story mode, but saying you can already solo most dungeon paths is a bit misleading. A very small % of players have taken the time to painstakingly master dungeon paths so they can solo them. 99% of players definitely cannot solo explorable dungeon paths. And in many cases it is class specific.
I mean, there’s difficult, and then there’s waste of time difficult.
It’s a medical condition, they say its terminal….
Only 2 or 3 of the dungeons are ever very active when it comes to excitable
Mode. And for those, there is still often. 30 minute to an hour wait to get five people. It’s pretty frustrating of you want to do Homornof the Waves, and the lobby is empty all day. Especially if you have another person willing to play also.I still haven’t done all the routes of Arah, or Twilight Arbor because nobody will accept someone who isn’t already an expert. It’s so frustrating!!!
HoTW? Are we talking story mode or explorable mode, because HoTW is one of the more frequently run dungeons for explorable, in my experience.
It’s a medical condition, they say its terminal….
Unlimited xmute item would be epic. Heck it could even cost 1600 gems and I’d still buy it.
It’s a medical condition, they say its terminal….
Adding a solo story mode option would solve this.
You shouldn’t have trouble finding groups for explorable mode. Especially if you start the LFG and make clear all are welcome. Did AC last week with two people under level 40. Was still cake.
It’s a medical condition, they say its terminal….
I fully support solo story mode option. It’s story, most people want to play story at their own pace. Leave explorable as group only. Very simple.

Definitely not a fail.

I got my fractal frequenter and several backpacks thousands of fractal runs ago and thus far I’ve gotten the staff six times, two hammers, the torch, focus, and dagger…
but NO SWORD!
I agree that getting the reward the way it is now feels SO GOOD when it does happen, but dang it I want my sword!
Exactly my point! So the guy who gets a fractal sword in 25 runs is somehow more prestigious according to OP? Poppykitten!
Didn’t they say that you could only buy the fractal skins with relics once you’ve cleared fotm50? If they didn’t, that would be a good minimum, that way you can’t just run a bunch of 1-20s to get skins.
It’s a medical condition, they say its terminal….
Will the GW2 game, sans expansion, have its own key? If anyone has a clue. Maybe feel a little shafted that older accounts are paying $50 for the expansion, but newer ones can get a refund. But whatever, it’s a business.
Anyways, yeah. I’m wondering if anyone knows the answer. My girlfriend is apprehensive about spending money on MMO’s, and I’m curious if there’ll be a separate game key I could give to her.
The $50 paid is one of two categories (unless it’s changed, they’ve changed so many things):
1) You are a brand new player to the game, your $50 gets you the expansion + the core game (you can look at it like $40 for expansion, $10 for core game—as they’ve had the core game on sale for $10 before).
2) You are a veteran to the game, your $50 gets you the expansion + free character slot ($40 for expansion, $10 for character slot).
Someone correct me if they’ve changed anything.
It’s a medical condition, they say its terminal….
Is this a thing a lot of people want? I mean, you start playing a brand new game you’ve never played before and you want to start out at max level? Guess I’m old school in wanting to play from the start and learn the game before doing the new end-game stuff.
It’s a medical condition, they say its terminal….
You think it would somehow take away from the prestige of fractal skins??! Wut!
Explain to me how currently there is prestige surrounding fractal skins that would be damaged come this new change where you can get the skins with fractal relics instead of RNG?
When I see someone with a fractal skin, they can either have run a handful of fotm30+ runs or thousands, it’s all the same. There is no prestige currently other than they were lucky, so there is nothing lost with this change; you still have to play a lot of fractals to get the skins, which is all the skins ever translated to anyhow.
In 500+ fotm runs, I have 4 skins: torch, dagger, pistol, spear. I want GS, 1h, and scepter. This new change will be a godsend.
To me it sounds like you got lucky with your fractal skins and got some good ones and now you don’t want anyone else to have them. I’m sure there are plenty of people with far more runs than you that have never gotten the skin they want. This change is fair.
It’s a medical condition, they say its terminal….
are the dungeons and world bosses fun?
They all start out fun, but as you do them more and more, like with any game’s dungeons, they begin to feel like a task you want to complete as quickly as possible. In fact there is a whole speedrunning culture that exists in GW2 with that are very discriminating against anyone who is not playing the meta. Luckily they don’t make up the majority.
I’m with Vayne as far as preferring fractals over the dungeons. I still find them fun, but I know plenty of people that don’t simply because we’ve been doing them for years now and are feeling burnt out.
It’s a medical condition, they say its terminal….
AR is fine as it is. You are not missing out on any content by not have agony resist. Stick to FoTM1-9, you will be able to do the exact same encounters as everyone else. No grind necessary. You can do it in Rare gear if you want to, I know I have.
For those of us that want additional challenge and don’t mind working, or heck even grinding, towards it, there are harder levels that require AR.
There’s no way you can say you are forced to grind for Ascended gear to get AR to complete content, when you can do that content already with terrible gear. You sound like you have already done the content, and now want to do the same content but on the harder difficulty, but simply refuse to work towards getting the appropriate gear for the harder levels (which are the exact same mini-dungeons mind you).

to finally turn GW2 into another generic dungeon grinder.Where was that stated? (snip)
If they have I apologize.
" Salvaging ascended rings will also grant players stabilizing matrices, a necessary component for legendary crafting. These can also be traded in for fractal encryption keys."
-gw2 reddit article on Legendary back piece
Well then.
At the very least, if rings are what are necessary, there are a number of methods to obtain ascended rings outside of fractals. Fractals would simply be the most efficient.
Plus who knows, maybe in HoT there will be even more ways to get Ascended rings.
I don’t think it will be quite the forcing of fractals on players that others seem to think.

Where was that stated? I think I missed the part that all future legendaries would require the Ascended salvage materials. Are you sure it isn’t one of those things where you can either get the precursor as a drop, or buy it on TP, or if you want to craft an untradeable item that you may have to collect items from salvaging Ascended.
I don’t think they’ve given the specifics on it.

I don’t think anyone is asking to be able to send mass mail to anyone they want, just to members in their guild roster. Gold spamming would not come up at all.
Of course it would come up. Every time a gaming company adds a restriction, spammers find new ways to get around it. They would start using some stolen accounts to advertise or figure out a way to get their spam accounts (those bought with stolen credit card numbers) into large guilds and spam them.
And then ANet adds additional restrictions to the feature (which costs additional dev time, meaning we lose some other feature or bug fix) and the “quality” of the “quality of life” improvement goes down.
I don’t mean to say it’s entirely impossible. I do mean to suggest that gold sellers evolve quickly and there won’t be any simple solutions.
Agreed, there would be no way to avoid it entirely, but let’s hypothetically say that only the guild leader can issue the guild-wide message; the chances that a gold spammer happens to steal the account of a guild leader will already be very low. I don’t have any way to gauge %s, but excluding one to two person guilds used for banking purposes, how often could this possibly come up that the guild leader has their account stolen.
I’ve personally never known anyone whose account was stolen, let alone a guild leader specifically.
But, sure, I guess it could happen.
It’s a medical condition, they say its terminal….
There probably won’t ever be:
- It’s a quality of life issue for spammers and gold sellers, too.
.
Not if you could only send the messages to guild members. Similar to the MoTD at the top. Could be a text box, type in it, click send, goes to the members in your guild roster.
If you’ve somehow joined a guild run by a gold seller, then I suppose you’d find out pretty quick.

I didn’t realize you’ve spoken to the team personally and they disclosed that they had to make sacrifices just to allow their sad necro friend to play on their team…
seriously, that was an odd comment to make… lol
Do you only 1v1 in PvP or something? Necros really shine when played conjunction with another player. It’s hard to dodge necro condi skills when a D/D ele or a good mesmer is bouncing around you. You wouldn’t play a necro like you would play a guardian, for example. You need to play to their strengths, not just play them like a weak version of whatever class you prefer playing.
I also don’t see how MOBAs aren’t comparable, seeing as Anet has been tweaking classes pretty regularly as well. Not to the extent of LoL/dota, but certainly they work on re-balancing to some degree.
The whole point of my SSB example was that it was a L2P issue, even after 12 years of the game being out with no balancing, and even for the top pro players. Are you really telling me that in 3 years of the GW2 being out that there is no room to improve playstyle on a class? Even at the professional level? I posit that you are wrong.
But none of this even matters, my point was that necros do not suck in PvP like some are making it seem. If you want to point to the handful of pro players and say “well, most of them don’t play necro, so clearly the class is bad in PvP”, or “Yea, well they have to sacrifice to have a necro on their team” go ahead, that’s like, your opinion, man. (Why would anyone do that? What purpose would that serve to purposely handicap yourself? Plus the continually beat pro teams that have no necros on their team, so what is even the point of your comment, I’m still so confused lol)
99.9% of PvP players are not playing at top tournament winning levels. There’s really no sense in comparing anyway.
TL:DR – Play a necro in PvP, you will do just fine.
