A serious question...

Lately, more and more I’ve had serious issues getting the will to log in… Now please do not take this as a humble brag I am merely trying to apply some context to the situation. I currently have 7 legendaries, at least double that in ascended weapons, almost every single high end exotic weapon (Mjolnir, Infinite Light, etc…) and weapon skin in the game(even the limited time ones like from first Halloween), 7 sets of ascended armor, Fractal backpack, closing in on level 1k in WvW…

I honestly am finding it difficult to find a reason to log in anymore…

When LS content comes out it is at best 1-2 days worth. Yes there are recipes and such to chase but the major portion of the content can be completed in hours.

Feature updates hit and most are meh at best, some QOL stuff, some balancing, some UI stuff but nothing ever truly amazing.

I guess my question is… for those of you that have been at this since launch like me, and have achieved alot of your personal in game goals, what is it that keeps bringing you back? What keeps you playing? Because at the moment I am finding it more and more difficult to find reason to.

I’ve even started looking at other games which saddens me given all I have accomplished here…

I wish ANET would really consider a full fledged expansion… or some other form of EPICLY major content, ie new continent, race, profession, etc… getting spoon fed bits of stuff every two weeks that is of lower and lower quality each time and can be completed in shorter and shorter periods is destroying my interest.

Personally, I liked the original Halloween. Yes it was released like LS but a little bit trickled out every couple of days… To me THAT format was SIGNIFICANTLY better.

I don’t know just want to get some honest feedback here…

Quite honestly, if I were in your shoes, I would call it quits for quite some time. You basically beat the game.

I’ve been playing since early release, have ~1600hrs logged, and have 0 legendaries, 1 ascended set, 2 ascended weapons, and a random assortment of rare skins, and only ~200 WvW rank.

Normally I’m all about telling people to make your own goals to achieve, etc., but with what you’ve listed I would say you’ve beaten the game. Take a break until new content comes out. Or pick a new MMO and play it slowly. You’ll never enjoy an MMO for long if you play hardcore all the time. Eventually you will get everything and do everything and there will be literally nothing left but log on and stare at the screen.

That’s where you are in GW2. Which is where most players would be 4 years from release, you’re way ahead of schedule.

I won’t stop because I can’t stop.

Paying for past episodes...

I really don’t like this system. I paid for this game like everyone else, so why is it that I must pay AGAIN for content that was otherwise free to people who played it at an earlier time? I’m glad Arena Net has added the ability to replay episodes, but WHY must it be behind a pay wall?

And let me just go ahead and stop some counter arguments before they’re spewed:

Yes, I know if I played them during the 2 week period they would be free. So what? We all paid for it when we bought the game.

Yes, it’s only 200 gems or $2.50 dollars, and YES it can be earned with in game money. But why is that necessary? Arena Net lost no money because I didn’t play for a few months, so why am I being penalized.

You missed this counter argument:

You can play all of the Season 2 episodes you missed by joining a friend/guildie when they do it. Can experience the exact same story and fights and not pay a dime. You just can’t get achievements or the backpiece parts that come with it.

@Draknar

As I pointed that not all of them are like that. I know that you can find some which are really casual about it and understanding but yet prefer that you would 100% represent them.
Problem is, that they’re really hard to find. And I doubt that people want to jump from one guild to another just to see, if it’s like that, or it’s another Overlord behavior.

Another thing about this “family” what you call.
It sound nice, but it doesn’t work.
New guild member in almost every case, is treated like an outcast.
It may take weeks or even months until everyone will adapt to newbie and yet there will be someone who will be grumpy about him, because….he’s who he is.

In many games which are like 100% devoted blablabla ended up as a lose screw in a head.
Guild Master, or leader, along with officers, vices etc, whenever they had a need for something or whatever else, you along with whole guild had to drop your current fun and attend their needs ASAP.
Problem was, when you actually needed a bit of help, and ended up with one guildmate who forever does help you, or you’ll see a middle finger because others have no time, or don’t want to help you.

And I wouldn’t be surprised if majority of people who are against this 100% representative thing have similar experience and view it as a Circle in History that will repeat it. It’s annoying, waste of time and irritating, that you have to deal with such or similar behavior.

I have no doubt that there are bad guilds out there. When I said “family” I didn’t mean like we’re a group of 6 RL friends that are in some kind of officers club and everyone else is just a peon. That’s not how we do it at least. Because of the rank system, we know which players that are on are the new members and the officers go out of their way to ask if they need help with anything. Sometimes we will just group up with them and accompany them for personal story, or provide general tips to playing.

We will announce that we are going to run, let’s say AC story for example, and will list the level requirement for it and let everyone know this is an introductory run, good time to get your feet wet for dungeons. Even with 2 officers and 3 new players the dungeon is cake because we know what we are doing.

In order to make it to officer status you have to be the kind of person that is patient, understanding, and doesn’t mind investing time into helping other, newer players.

I think that’s honestly what has made our guild so active and full of like-minded players. Strong and sincerely helpful leadership. For the loner type of player, we may come on a bit strong, but for those that are looking to make GW2 their MMO-home, it’s literally what keeps them playing.

A guild that expects 100% repping is not worth anyone’s time. The ones that expect that are not the ones worth playing with.

That’s a pretty skewed view on guilds that clearly stems from your one bad experience.

Asking for 100% rep has nothing to do with treating people like they are in a military organization. You let them know up front it is a requirement, if that’s a problem, everyone moves on. If someone joins and isn’t repping you ask them what’s up. Maybe they do have a guild bank for personal use, or are using a specific guild to run Wurm/Teq or to get guild commendations. That stuff is understandable and most guilds are cool with it.

Sounds like you want to just say “pffft. screw you I’m not repping 100%, you fascist jerks!”

Many of the complaints in the forums can be solved by a solid guild: game is boring, content is too hard, players are elitist, balance is broken everybody wants [insert fotw class], events are too hard, etc. You find a guild that is active and filled with people that want to help you? Suddenly the game isn’t boring, hard content is no longer hard because you have guild members that are skilled that can help you complete it (patiently I might add), class makes no difference to guild members, you wanna bring your necro and it is the 3rd in the group? Sure thing, bud, we’re guildies! Can’t get a specific event completed for X trait? Pfft, no problem, bout 10 of us are on that will come help you with it!

Oh no, you’re 50 ectos away from some sort of upgrade? Got ya covered, here’s 50 ectos, pay back whenever you get a chance! Oh man, want to craft ascended gear but omg it takes sooo long and you can only craft one mat ever 24hrs? Oh yea? Well how about your guildmates who can craft those mats donate their cooldowns to you, now you’re making 10x the mats each day. Not a problem because we’re all family here!

You say you’ve never run Aetherblade path because everyone hates it and doesn’t want to run it, but you’d like to get some of the achievements? Let’s do it right now! And get some achievements! Sure, bring your mesmer that’s fine!

Need help with new Living Story achievements, but can’t seem to get them done? You’re in luck, bud, now you have a full group of people who have them all completed already that can show you exactly how to get them and will sacrifice themselves if need be so you can get your achievement safely! Dang, we failed one because you dodged by mistake into some AoE? Whatever, let’s start it over!

Boy that FoTM is so intimidating. Oh yea? Well how about a nice relaxing run with guild members who will take the time to explain each fight, strategies, where to stand, where and why people stack in certain areas (and give the option if you want to stack or do it the normal way). Plus what skills/weapons/traits to put for each fractal to maximize efficiency.

Making money is sooo haaard? Oh yea? Not if you have a guild that will speed run you through dungeons (when requested), will link closest WP to the world boss that is up currently, will show you how to play the TP (when requested), will explain what items to save, what items to sell, what items to salvage.

All of this, for the cost of 100% repping? Uhm….no brainer.

Disappointed by the leveling experience

Map grind? Zuh? That’s a new one. You don’t have to map grind at all to level up. There are multiple 1-15 zones, multiple 15-25 zones, etc. You explore as much or as little of each as you want, then go to the next one. At no point did you ever have to do 100% completion of the zone to move on. In fact, I tell new players not to even bother with 100% map completion until they hit level cap. I suggest wandering aimlessly in a zone, hitting events as they come up, and if they are satisfied they’ve explored that zone enough, go to one of the other zones for that level range and do the same.

Makes a world of difference.

But EoTM for a new player, for their first character? Big mistake. That’s how you create terrible players who don’t understand much of anything in the game other than to follow blue dorito and attack red things. You level up fast, but you’re left with “now what…?”

Made my own guild, mostly bank, but developing all upgrades.
Maybe one day it’ll become a normal guild O.o

Anyway, 100% guilds sucks.
99% of them demand all your chars to represent it.
And even if some allow guild banks, they still are moody and demand explanation why you didn’t represent them in past 5 mins.

Deffo not going for such guilds. Pain the az.

Some people are interested in finding a guild to call a home rather than use the guild for a specific purpose and then rotate between multiple guilds as you see fit to benefit yourself.

The guilds that require 100% are the guilds looking for members to add to their family, not just a body to boost roster numbers. If you look at it that way, it makes sense why some guilds want 100% rep. We target players that are looking to make GW2 their MMO for the long haul and to create a strong community where players can thrive and build relationships.

The people that typically hate 100% rep guilds are the same ones that say the game is boring, there is no end-game, etc. etc. When you have a strong core of players that enjoy playing the game as much as you do, you never find yourself bored. There’s always something to do or someone to help.

I think back on every MMO I’ve ever played and the one thing in common in the games I stuck out more than 1 year was a solid guild/clan to play with. Every time.

Would be kinda useful if guild officers could “mass whisper” members, even if they weren’t repping at the time – that way announcements for dungeon runs, fractals, guild mission etc. could still be sent and the non-rep switch back to participate.

Or better yet, on-screen messages. As in you can send out a message to the whole guild that shows up on screen right in the center in big letters. Aion had this feature, it was great for getting everyone’s attention.

Buy some Orrian Truffle Stew or whatever it is called, that gives +energy refill rate.

Do not dodge the big ground AoE, jump it. You can time it right and jump rather than waste a dodge. Absolutely only dodge when you need to. Like if there’s no way you can run out of a circle in time, that’s when you dodge. Most of the time in that fight you can simply move out of the AoE and save your dodge for those really hairy situations.

I found this fight really came down to proper dodge use than anything.

Also, 18 deaths? I agree with what someone else said, it seems you haven’t quite allowed yourself to experience difficult content if you’ve only died 18 times. I assume you leveled up in low-level zones or EoTM? Not knocking it, one of my alts leveled up in EoTM exclusively, has 0 deaths and 23hrs played time on him and he’s level 80. Man I love that EoTM train lol.

I’m confident I would get wrecked in any real challenge with that character, though.

My guild requires 100% rep. We regularly kick people who aren’t repping 100%. After inquiring as to why they aren’t of course — we allow personal guild banks, as well as those that are part of a TTS type guild or one that exclusively does guild missions all back to back on certain days to rep while they complete that specific content. Once they are done doing their guild missions/Teq/Wurm what have you, they must rep again. We have 85 members, 60-ish who are active players. Absolutely awesome community built on mutual respect.

We interview all new applicants. Repping 100% is one of the first things we cover, if they have a problem with it, the application process stops right there. Most people are OK with 100% repping, quite honestly. The ones that aren’t are the kind of people we aren’t interested in playing with anyway.

I guess I’m in the minority of people that thoroughly enjoys EoTM. Not because I think it is great WvW, but it’s a nice grind for loot/xp/karma with the occasional WvW battle for extra fun. I get that a lot of people are against trains, but seriously some people enjoy that content. Some days I want to get on and mindlessly grind while listening to music. EoTM is great for that. I prefer that over farming dungeons, and in EoTM I can make 5g+/hr, plus get lots of ranks in.

It’s also a good place for aspiring commanders to practice their leadership.

New Armor Everytime There's A Nerf?

Wait…..the game is progressing while you are away and that makes you very angry? Really?

It wasnt kittening per se, I just wanted to know if I was doing it all wrong BUT AN making changes to force people to have to spend a ton of money at their whim is just lame when they do it so often.

But hey Gosu thank you for your inspirational input typical of yet another kitten stroking wanna be cool guy. Thank you gaming community!

So, back to my original question since the two repliers answered nothing obviously not understanding the question, are there other ways for gaining armor other than buying or grinding mats to make it?

Why are you changing your armor stats again? Did you try to complete some content and then failed because your stats were slightly different? You don’t have to answer that we all know the answer is no.

Either way if you’re so obsessed about having the absolute best stat configuration then dungeon running is your best bet to get gear for free.

If you’re OK with PVT, then WvW is even easier to gear your character in full exotics.

It honestly sounds like you’re used to other games where if you take a long break you have to come back and play catch up with everyone. It’s not like that in GW2. Your stat combo is still good, it will always be good, even when they make balance changes your stat combo is still good. You can complete all PvE in any stat configuration (no joke, you absolutely can), so really, who cares.

Draknar.5748

I hope everyone here realizes you can craft Ascended back pieces in the Mystic Forge. It requires a stack of a T6 material, 50 ectos (ridiculously easy to get if you do EoTM train/world boss runs and salvage Rares), 250 bloodstone dust (everyone has about 1million at this point), and either philosopher stones/obsidian shards (can purchase with skillpoints). The T6 material is the hardest part but that’s farmable, plus you can use laurels or save up money and buy them.

You don’t need FoTM items at all.

Now, the Mawdrey II backpiece requires much more work. But that’s because it is a unique skin. I realize you guys don’t like having to go out of your way to get something, but it seems many are up in arms like Ascended backpieces are extremely hard to get. They aren’t….you don’t ever have to step into FoTM and you can still get an ascended backpiece…

If you want a super unique backpiece like Mawdrey with a fancy ability, then you gotta put in some EFFORT.

Being level 80 is boring

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Draknar.5748

Draknar.5748

There is not enough content for level 80: you can go WvWvW (which I don’t like), or do tPvP (which gets boring after some time), or you spend your time farming worldbosses or champions in Orr.
In short: you repeat the same things over and over again.
I would love to see some more player vs player content with large groups fighting against each other on bigger maps, not just 5 vs 5 battles on small maps as it is now in tPvP.

Sounds like you’ve played the game too much quite honestly. Why don’t you go take a break for a couple of months, might invigorate you to play more.

As someone with 9 level 80 chars, I can tell you most of my time these days is spent doing one of 5 things:

a) Achievement hunting (I enjoy doing this, and typically do it with guild members) Includes daily.
b) Fractals/Dungeons (with guild members pretty much exclusively)
c) Recruiting new guild members and subsequently helping them with anything they need help with (personal story, dungeons, explaining the game, etc.)
d) WvW/PvP (typically with guild members)
e) Role-playing (with guild members).

So basically, at level 80 my guild is what keeps me active. If I didn’t have a solid guild I probably wouldn’t do any of the above. Maybe find an active guild with cool people.

Marionette style return

Draknar.5748

Dear god, i don’t miss this boss.
Marionette was actually the prototype of what is wrong with GW2.
Mass zerking in general is no fun for people over the age of 12

Clearly you did not participate, otherwise you wouldn’t call it zerging. Unless…you think 5 people is a zerg? But…you couldn’t possibly mean that? Right? (The marionette portion split your group up into 5 5-man groups that all had to beat a mini-boss to successfully damage her. I’m explaining it because I don’t believe you ever did it)

Also, if you zerg-ed one lane and get into a marionette portion mentioned above, you were locked out of participating on the marionette portion for the next X minutes (was a debuff), which basically meant you couldn’t do the next lane, meaning that lane would fail. Meaning essentially the event would fail.

You literally could not zerg and hope to win.

If none of this makes sense to you, then you didn’t do the marionette.

DO NOT change the dungeon owner system

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

And here we see the problems with changes.

Because I personally LOVE this change. I’ve had FAR more dungeon runs end because the dungeon “owner” DCed or rage quit (more than I can count) than end because I was kick scammed (never… and I main a ranger).

That’s my experience as well. I hear so many people talk about people getting kicked out of groups (on forums only), but it’s never happened to me. Ever. And I run dungeons regularly. Just asked in guild chat (there are 15 online right now), not one of them has ever been kicked out of a dungeon run maliciously so someone else could join, but eight of them have said they’ve been kicked because owner left. Which I’ve been the victim of at least 10 times.

Things might not be what they seem to the typical forum dweller.

Considering there really is no good way to obtain keys currently, if this does in fact remove them from story rewards, it’ll feel like an intentional slap in the face.

1. Pull out credit card
2. Open Gem store
3. Buy pack of Black Lion Keys

Keys are supposed to be their main source of RNG revenue… it was never intended for people to get them for free.

rolls eyes

The gemstore in general is the “main source” of revenue. I highly doubt keys are a main source within that. If they were, you’d see them adding kitten to the chests a heck of a lot more often. Instead we see more armors, weapons, outfits, minis, and dyes.

According to a lot of your posts, Zudet, the players aren’t intended to get anything for free. Stop with the money creep scares.

The ‘BOX’ is the main source of income as everyone who plays the game has to buy it. The CS is extra income not the primary income. No one has to buy anything from the CS to play this game.

It’s very clear you have no idea what you’re talking about….

triple trouble: the power of one guild

this is a question for anet about triple trouble

now i know that time and time again u have said that it is SUPPOSED to be very very hard, but is it? certainly very few people succeed at it, but is that because its hard? or because its exclusive?

as it stands now you either have a 100% chance to succeed if you get onto THE MAP or a 0% chance to succeed if you dont, why? because basically only 1 guild organizes it, and this guild forces all its members into one map, any1 who wants to get in that map has to join their teamspeak server or has no chance to get in

this is not fair not fun and not challenging, its also potentially dangerous. imagine the future if we are forced by private guilds to open 3rd party content to participate in the game, they might send us to their websites and steal our information, im not saying this one guild does do this….but consider it a possible future.

so is the triple trouble event working as anet intended?

Think of it like a raid in other games, just not instanced. Getting on voice chat and getting into a guild that can organize it is basically a requirement. Teq/Triple Trouble were never meant to be done casually. It was harder content designed for those that really like raid-type content.

As someone who has lurked the forums basically since release I can say that there was definitely a community of players that felt leveling was difficult, a “grind” as they call it and very un-rewarding. While most people feel this wasn’t needed, there are people who will find it useful.

Plenty of new players have come on the forums, or have messaged in /map, about what do to, where to go; that their personal story mission is too high a level for them and they don’t know what to do to level up.

Why are cultureal armor so expensive?

Hi,
I’m a poor player in this game.. but 120 gold is nothing…
:-)

lol 120g is nothing ? o.o thats a huge sum for me… pm me tips on making money then

and ty all for replying ~

I second that, if 120g is nothing then I’m doing something wrong.

He isn’t poor, he wanted to boast on the internet about being rich while trying to make it seem like he isn’t. 120g is a lot of gold for the majority of players. Typically if you’ve been playing for 2 years it isn’t a lot of money.

True story that just happened 2 weeks ago with a guildie:

This guy would always complain about never having money, not knowing how to make it, etc. He’s been playing since early release like me. I asked him what he considers having no money, he said he’s never broken 100g. Ok, I thought to myself, after 2yrs and never breaking 100g that’s pretty bad. So in the course of us playing we are killing things and he keeps having to stop to sell off. Pretty frequently in fact. I asked him whats up with that. He said its because his collectibles are full so he has to vendor his mats when he salvages. Immediately I exclaim “Whaaaaaaa, stop!” I tell him to immediately leave what he is doing, go to a bank, take out every.single.collectible he has and sell them on the TP. For starters. I asked if he crafted and he said he did not, he just didn’t know what to do with the stuff so he left it where it was.

3 days later (and tons of posting on TP), he now has 400g. Now, he was already ecstatic, but now knowing he is clearly a pack-rat I asked him if he could tell me the kinds of things he has in his bank (we were on vent so he started listing things). He named some normal items you’d expect (ascended mats), but then he starts listing exotic gear (some of which was worth 6-7g/ea). Told him to sell those if he had no characters that could use them. Wham another 50g. Then he starts saying “Hey, what about Black….Lion…Claim Tickets? Are those sellable?” And I respond “Uhm…scraps or actual tickets?” He says “well both, I have 5 tickets and 15 scraps, what can I do with these?” I seriously lost it laughing. I was like “Dude, you want to make 600g like instantly or even more than that if you are patient?” Of course he says yes. So I explain what the tickets are good for and he went out and got 6 Chaos weapon skins and sold them on the TP for ~95-100g/ea.

This guy, who has been playing for 2 years, who has been broke for 2 years, now has 1200g to his name, with a bunch more crap in his bank he still needs to sell.

Seriously, true story.

Moral of the story: Don’t be a hoarder, sell what’s in your bank if you aren’t using it. Don’t save stuff because you think you might possibly potentially need it maybe in the future.

To all players: don`t be greedy. The content you are getting every 6 months is equal to a full expansion in other MMOs. New areas? EOTM, Southsun Cove, Dry Top (and 2 pvp maps) . New features? Wardrobe, Traits, New armors/weapons. New content? this is kinda lacking but still, 1 new dungeon, dungeons paths, fractals, SAB. AND ABOVE ALL, Story wise: we are getting roughly 1-2 hours of story play every 2 weeks, lets do the math, on average we get 1.5 hours SO… 1.5H every 2 weeks on a 6(?) month Season = 18 Hours of story, that is equal to a 60$ worth new Single player RPG story amount, the only difference is that you getting it for free, and you getting it 2-3 times per year. Thats a lot of effort, i my self can be disappointed sometimes with some features that we havent got yet that i think are essential if you want to make your MMO competitive, like Housing, Dueling, more legendaries etc. but we got to think that the Devs are people too and there have limitations on how much they can produce. The only thing that they should probably do from their perspective is become more open to the players and start talking about things on development more often and with honesty.

No tank, no skill.

Ah yes, the elite PvE skillz of traditional dungeon groups. One dude spam taunts on mobs, face them away from everyone, 3 people mash DPS skillz, last person stare at health bars spamming heals. Soooo much more skill, you’re right.

I really hope Ban Bot doesn’t get banned for this. Funny troll, but never did he claim to be A-Net Staff, just spoke with authority, and you fell for it. If he gets Banned, I may just stop buying gems from A-Net, as I wouldn’t want to support a company that can’t take a joke, especially one that follows their own rules.

Sincerely, someone who laughed when he read the chat box.

It comes down to how the majority of people perceive it, not what he technically said.

He thinks he is being clever acting like an Anet employee, while never saying it. Problem is, that’s enough.

It’s like that scam where someone pulls up to a valet and some guy in a vest walks up to the driver and puts his hand out for the keys, the driver hands him the keys, and then the guy drives off in his car. Then the real valet comes out and is all like “that dude doesn’t work for us!” Technically he never told the driver he was a valet, but the driver assumed (fairly) he was the valet based on how he was acting, how he was dressed and the specific circumstance he was in.

Are we saying that the guy who took the car didn’t impersonate a valet simply because he didn’t say he was the valet? No, he impersonated a valet by acting like one.

Just like this guy impersonated an Anet employee by acting like one.

Good change overall, but a bad change when they do not address the fact 2 votes can kick someone from the group.

This will really benefit the guild groups and casual PUGs where trolling is rarely seen. It will unfortunately also make it slightly easier to troll / kick people from the group at a whim at the boss.

Personally I’ve never seen that happen, but I’ve heard it happens to people every once in a while.

Thanks for all the help!

“Just a heads up there will be encounters that will give you quite a bit of trouble. Ones that pretty much require attacking and moving at the same time. For your sake I hope you are able to come up with a clever way to accomplish this otherwise you will find yourself at the wrong end of some AoEs.”

When will this happen? Main story line quest? I don’t plan to do dungeons.

All of the content like that should only be a problem for you solo. If you have a partner or two it will be vastly easier. Heck, even people without limitations need partners to do some of those fights (at the moment I’m referring to the new Living Story fights—have to be level 80 for those anyway). If you’ve got someone else that can handle the DPSing while you dodge/avoid AoEs you should have no problem. It’s when you try to do it alone that you could have some issues.

So basically, find a solid friend that will help with some of the content that requires more mobility and you should be good to go.

If you don’t already have a group like that, my guild is extremely supportive of players that have trouble with content. We regularly run new players through hard dungeons and do all of the heavy lifting so they can get used to it and I know that any of us would jump to help if you were having trouble completing content due to mobility limitations. Heck even just me personally if nobody else wanted to. We’re on Fort Aspenwood, feel free to message me if you need any help.

Yes but it is literally impossible to make one game fun forever. It just is. Someone who plays 10h/day will run out of fun things to do after 6000+hours of in-game time…. Period. Or what one person thinks is fun, another person does not. How could they possibly make a game that is perpetually fun for every single type of gamer. I can tell you right now if there was no grind whatsoever I wouldn’t have fun, so already the game failed. You need to find the one game that is as close to what you want as possible then stick with it. If a game like that existed you’d be playing it right now and not on a soapbox in the GW2 forums..

I think what Anet really needs is something similar to what they did in SAB. Make an Infantile server. In that server you choose what level you want to start at. 80? Sure no problem. 1? Sure if you want to start from the beginning. You can set how much XP each monster gives you and what items they drop. Want the legendary weapons to drop from rabbits? Sure why not, go for it. Want AC dungeon paths to be empty except for the boss? Why not! And the reward chest gives a full suit of Ascended armor! AP, PvP ranks, WvW standings would not be counted in any way shape or form, but the people in the Infantile server don’t care about competitive play anyways.

EDIT: Quoted wrong person… =/

The entire PvE design is flawed; if you’re not a might stacking zerker you’re doing it wrong; and that’s bad… mmmk.

Guess I’ve been playing the game wrong for 2 years now, dang.

If you’re fully reliant on condition bosses, please don’t come to world bosses. You’re literally doing nothing but scaling the boss. Please go play something else.

I don’t play a might stacking zerker is all I’m saying. I also don’t play a condition build.

It’s due to direct DDoS attacks from a group of “hackers” that I won’t name so as not to call attention to them.

Their mission is to show that Anet (and countless other companies) have security holes by conducting these DDoS attacks, which have absolutely nothing to do with security anyway. DDoS attacks are strictly malicious. They are proving nothing other than that there are horrible people in the world.

Well exotics that aren’t precursors are worthless vendor trash because they aren’t ascended gear.

I assume you mean when you already have all of your characters equipped in exotics. Because why would you throw away an exotic weapon upgrade just because it isn’t ascended? Ascended gear is completely unnecessary for pretty much every bit of content in the game.

Also, if you aren’t salvaging your extra Exotics or selling them on TP you’re an idiot.

Ah yes, the “grind”….

All of your characters do not need Exotic gear for any content in this game. You can even complete FoTM 1-9 in green/yellow gear.

Now if you want all of your characters in Exotic gear you are more than welcome to, but it will require some effort. But this is something you are choosing to do, no one is forcing you.

It’s like being upset about how expensive Ferraris are and you can’t believe you have to save up so much money to get one. Sure you can save up and buy a Ferrari, but you can also purchase a used Honda and accomplish the same thing: getting from A to B.

You can…

+100% XP bonus from birthday booster, +50% XP bonus from XP booster, +100% XP from killstreak booster (when stacked to 10 stacks), food, go out and kill yellow mobs, but keep changing your area (bonus XP decreases if the mobs have been killed recently). No joke you will get a bar of XP in roughly 5 kills. Once I completed one full level before I even finished my Daily Kills and all I was doing was killing yellow mobs 2 levels above me.

This is the fastest form of leveling, even compared to EoTM.

final boss fight too much

in Living World

Posted by: Draknar.5748

Draknar.5748

The final fight of the living is nothing more than a cheap way by the devs to create an illusion of a challenging boss fight.

The final fight isn’t challenging, it’s a normal boss fight, except you have to avoid large AoEs that show up in random spots while simultaneously killing mobs in order to make the boss vulnerable in order to even damage him. When will they ever make a boss that is more than just tank and spank…

/sarcasm

I mean honestly, what would you consider a challenging fight, because Liadri was exactly the same concept just a different format. Avoid AoEs, you have to remove her invulnerability by kiting mobs into AoEs, then the rest is DPS while avoiding AoE while killing orbs that pull you.

It’s basically the same thing and Liadri is considered uber challenging.

Unless of course you’re saying that Liadri wasn’t challenging either…
