Justin. I understand that you can’t figure a proper percent; but 4v5 is 98 percent of the time a loss. Have I won 4v5? Yes. Is it rare? Yes. There is no real way to fix that besides just making the match “not count”. As in, Bye’s & forfeits. If you re-factor the percent, it could be abused. Just make it if the team looses, nothing lost. If they manage to win 4v5, give them credit for the epic win. Only fair way to do it.
They are implementing Forfeit/ Bi’s for the 4v5 issue. As of now you % win chance wont change if people leave the match. This is a TEST season and it isn’t perfect for obveoouse reasons. If you want to suggest things (most have been already), then go to the thread and keep the suggestions up. Needs more love.
Wrong…………….You want to PvP you have to go into PvP. You will get your skills there and can buy them. If you want to PvE, then you have to LvL your character to buy traits. You do not need to lvl for PvP.
Pretty sure Necro was up the 2nd day and that was it. May have been another 2 days later but definitely not more than 2. I was talking to my friend when we saw engi/ guard pop up once again.
You shouldn’t have these in PvP period; but if you are going to, then make it even. Make each day have a specific 2 and then cycle through them. Seems to be RNG which is even more stupid than having them at all.
It lets them rejoin so MAYBE their team can still win and he doesn’t F over everyone else. Dishonor was enabled, it was disabled to be fixed. They found bugs with and are fixing.
At this point I get outshone on stealth by Engis in dungeon running.
youre doin it wrong then, teef is way more useful at stealthing. engi can do 1/2 the skips, which is usually enough.
What stealths CAN’T engi do? Engi can stealth like 15 seconds.
theres several in arah where you can sr in the middle of running, after smoke walling to start it off. cm too, that last skip to get to frost/centaur boss. and prolly for the 5 barrels too, but i dont do cm enough. its all just way smoother with a thief, but its not like you really need stealth, ever… as long as you arent a bad dodger. i can get myself to abom in p2 arah stealthless, on engi. its just… not something i really want to do.

This will cost you a desertion (-3 pts) on leader boards. They will most likely implement a (30s?) grace period but it is not yet in place. So if you do not care about your leader board ranking. Go right ahead If you do, then don’t switch.
Pretty spot on. I like the League/ ticket reward like WvW. Vendor for various prizes for different ticket amounts. You can spend or save until you can buy a better prize a few months out (for people that can’t play 8+ hours a day and make top LB). You can have mini’s, Glorious armor (high amount of tickets), boxes of different tier mats, boxes containing reward track potion xp thingies (various amounts for different ticket amounts), etc etc etc. This would be a way to introduce PvP weapon skins (like WvW has) as well. Many options with this kind of reward system. Allows the players to get what they want from doing good. The better you do/ the more you play (lol), the faster you get the rewards you want. (Although this would probably take Anet forever to create rewards + vendor and skins). Jan 2016?
Ya, Dev stated that you went up against full teams (almost) twice. Your second picture it looks like you actually tried to win. Grats your pug beat a (almost) full premade (or are you the premade?). The looks of your first picture though………………… your team didn’t even try or have no idea what they are doing. Lets start with you, 2 far nutes/ caps and you just sat there for the entire round not helping your team, leaving them 4v5. Of course you will loose. You have a warrior in your base 1v1ing, IN YOUR BASE ?! kitten?! You have a thief who is coming to help you on an uncontested point leaving the rest a 4v2…………kitten?! Mid is an obvious loss and he could have pushed home or waited for the others to spawn (if dead already) and re-pushed out. Also unless they killed boss right at the start of the match you let 1 person go kill your boss? 1 Warrior? Your team may have been incompetent this match, but it doesn’t look like you helped much either. Use team chat and coordinate better, would be a start.
May have come off a bit harsh, but trying to be constructive. I beat premades all the time as a 2Q. Team chat works wonders. If you don’t try, you will lose. 75% of premades are just a group of friends Q’ing together. They aren’t good and they are not using voice coms. Easily beatable when you know what you are doing. Also your off peak time of play (as stated) won’t help anything. The player base playing is probably 1/3 of peak time and not much for matchmaking to choose from.
Then you win, because that is just a terrible team comp. Ask why all the 5 turret engi teams pretty much disbanded when they thought it would be OP. It’s a joke and an easy way to lose. Any minimal competent team at that point will stuff their turrets back up their kitten .
i actually have faced 4 turret engi + 1 bunker guard team before… worked really well for them
2-3 sets of turrets at mid with guard, 4 engis roaming with 4 crates and still 1-2 sets of turrets
If they won then I got nothing to say. Maybe the loss wasn’t your fault so I won’t say l2p issue; but maybe for your teammates it is. Only way that team comp would work is in the lower (lower than low) lvls of PvP.

Same thing that Oeggs stated…..just use 2 people instead of 1. It’s a number matching game. If your 2 are fighting their 2, that leaves 3v3 elsewhere. If they are just going to have 1 turret engi sit on their home point all match, then you have 5v4 on the other 2 points and you win. Engi never engaged and useless. If you have issues with them and they both go mid (example) then rotate far instead. I know some people think you have to do a 1/4 split every time, but that is far from correct.
The mmrs probably didn’t match as well maybe that gave the 2 1 1 1 team a much higher mmr since the 2 and 1s have higher mmr than the 3 group so matching the two highest with the 3 lowest made the most even match. Do you understand that?
This is EXACTLY what happens. Devs have given stats upon request of players and said the games MMR’s were even. For instance, is Oeggs goes solo Q there isn’t going to be a bunch of soloers at his MMR. He will be stuck into a pug with a LOT lower players to make their match then even MMR. This could make a perfectly even premade MMR against 1 or 2 players with really high MMR and then 3 with really low MMR. The 3 players will get rocked non stop because they are not used to play against players that high. This would also give them a 0-19% win chance and if you care about LB’s and good chance to gain points still by scoring points or not loosing LB points at all in the event of a loss.
Um ya, and so does mine. So 4 of you insta Q’ed. Maybe the other 6 were in Q for 10 minutes. You don’t know this one way or another. If the system just insta Q’ed everyone, then everyone would be kittened and it would be adjusted. Some people get insta Q’s because some are waiting forever. In the end as stated by Anet a million times, the system has to put people together. Small player base make insta Q pops for some because the system was searching for too long for the match. This means others were waiting.
Well a nade kit throws nades. Plenty of time to dodge. From ranged this can be seen by lots of balls of death flying through the air; or maybe all the little circles on the ground that is only created by nades. Bomb kit, bombs are timed, which again you can see the engi place them and still have plenty of time to move or dodge. Tool kit he is holding a wrench, only skill you need to watch for is pull (Highly telegraphed) and still plenty of time to dodge. They are not instant spells and therefore really need no introduction.
1: Plenty of time to dodge (then you know what he has)
2: Plenty of time to side step (then you know what he has)
3: Eat the nades and then spit them back out at him for humiliation. (Then he remembers what he has)

I have to say threads like this shock me to some degree. They shock me because I don’t understand how in 2015 people still don’t grasp the very simple concept of math, numbers, player base.
LoL has good matchmaking because they have millions of players to pull from. Smite’s matchmaking has gotten better this year as their player base has become quite large.
Now you expect great matchmaking with Gw2’s relatively small player base? Do you expect the devs to pull players out of their rear regions? Should they wave a magic wand and make 200,000 people log on to pvp 24/7? Ooh I know! How about Anet enslaves a quarter million poor foreign farmers to help fluff the odds of you getting a perfect game match?

1,000,000 players = Great matchmaking!
1,000 players = poor matchmaking.
now try using the some logic and think about this for 20 minutes.
You would be right but the matchmaking queue didn’t even try to make these type teams better! I’d understand if it was after the 2m time limit but it was literally Seconds once I hit that tpvp button.
Even if we were the only players available, it still should have waited for better matched players.

Even IF all of our MMRs were the same….
3+2 teams were together against 5 solo’rs
(Anet said teams had a better chance of playing each other)
Two type classes were on the same team twice
(Anet said they would fix that)
It should have been 3s + solo + solo…
It didn’t even try mix and match the players together once they were picked. It didn’t even bother waiting 30 seconds or more for better players to show. After the first game the next que started almost immediately
Don’t give me that “Population so low” bullcorn. The matchmaking algorithm is no where near the smarts it needs to be.
So everyone else was waiting for who knows how long and you were the 10th player making it instant for you. Did you go around and ask every single player how long they were waiting…no you didn’t. I have got insta Q pops on my team and the enemy premade said they were waiting for over 10 minutes. I have waited for 10 minutes and they enemy team said they got insta pop. Just because YOU got an insta Q pop, does not mean the matchmaking system wasn’t running for a while on that match. Your MMR came along and they system decided it had waited long enough and took you. Use your brain. The world doesn’t revolve around you.
You do know that is Backpack correct……?
He is either playing with his team, The Abjured or sometimes they slip in another player. If they don’t have a full team they go into unranked and play. They don’t loose in tourneys, why would they loose in ranked? I have seen Backpack and Toker duo Q’ing in unranked a few times. Oeggs on the other hand has been seen Solo or Duo Qing into ranked a couple time and therefore has losses. Not hard for them at all to reach these stats.
Besides the fact that a hotjoin win is a LOT less rank points then unranked/ ranked Q, they are not actually rank farming. It would actually take them more time to rank up than someone that plays ranked/ unranked. The fact that the title suggests that, is they are botting on red team so they don’t actually have to play and can rank up without being at their computer. 1 mod watches the arena at all times and a set of people trade off being actually active on the red team. That is what it looks like but is in no way actually faster. If they are doing this it would suggest that the whole red team is afk besides 1 mod. This would be illegal if they are using a program to move their character.
Hotjoin win rank is 500 pts. Unranked Q loss is 500 pts/ win 1k. Ranked loss 800 pts/ win 1500. Even if you loose every ranked match you will be doing better.
You can also google Killshot warrior. Might be slight variations of it. It is honestly not viable in PvP or helpful to your team lol. If you use this, please stay in unranked/ hotjoin haha. It got nerfed and you do not see it as much anymore. If you want to watch some older WvW roaming vids on it, it can be entertaining watching 30k+ crits.

Ok so I would like an answer from someone that has actually used it. Quoting wiki definition of consumable isn’t the answer. It specifically says “Wasted if the player teleports to a full map”. This insinuates that if you don’t load into a full map it is not consumed. Not all consumables are used up upon their first use either.
maybe adding stealthed turret with backstabbing knives would help? damage ofcourse equal to thief backstabs.
I will add this to my previous comment. Stealth idea is great. A stealthed Svanir drop? 30 seconds stealth so you have no idea where he is. Do this along with the whole crate being stealthed upon drop in so it can’t be dodged, with the impact of a treb shot. Perfect. The great ideas keep rolling in.
No, killshot warrior has been around forever. It is somewhere around 3 second cast time and probably the most telegraphed skill to avoid. You should also be able to “1 shot” them back as they have no defenses. Mainly a WvW troll build but occasionally you see one stumble into PvP. This happens when a player is bored, wants to laugh and doesn’t mind dying a LOT in the process.

Directly teleports the player to a friend anywhere in the PvE environment.
Does this mean if I load into a new map the consumable disappears; but if I am in the same map as him already (on the opposite side), it won’t consume it?

Before you didn’t get to choose. RNG chose the map.. at least you get a chance at the map you want now. You complain to much. At least you only play in unranked so I guess we really don’t care.
Wheeled turrets…perfect. Maybe drop 3 of each turret as well? Making it worth staying? Maybe we can add a Svanir drop with the turrets as well. This would add in the WOW factor. OP: Just pick a good reward track that is not one of the stupid dungeon ones. Do Maguuma or Glorious. They have the most champ bags for T5 & 6 mats along with lots of weapons/ gear to throw into the RNG forge. This will be your other option while PvP’ing
Engineer needs some buffs. Like some extra conditions. Torment maybe? Fear? Another burn source like on flash grenade pehaps.
OR maybe an air strike that rains down a barrage of knockdown missiles on a 1200 radius; that comes from out of no where (potentially launched from Lions Arch). They could do maybe 1k damage a piece when traited and the barrage could be 20 missiles? Need more E-Sports rockets.
1, The ready button – having to sit in queue by my pc constantly is a total joke. I used to be able to go and chat to people around, get a drink, go to the bathroom, but now I have to sit at my PC and wait for some stupid queue pop. It is like enforced boredom.
The remaining 9 people should not stay and wait for you to come back to the game you queued in the first place. If you wanna chat, have a drink or go to the bathroom, you can always queue later. You do not play a single player game. You can’t pause it every single time you feel like doing so…
^^Correct. Basically from what you are telling me, you are one of those kittens that was afk for the first minute or longer of the match; because you decided it was a good time to take a kitt. We didn’t like your kind before ruining matches for the rest of us, nothing is changed. If you want to go do things…don’t Q up. Simple as that. If the 3 minute Q is too long, then go do a dungeon. Casual.
You just have to be in range of a point (not sure the range, so just stand on one being attacked) and get a kill. This has to be done obviously while your team owns the point.
As a necro, I can tell the person that said “You get stability every 10 sec going into DS”, LOLOL. NO necro traits for this. It is a grand master trait that you loose WAY to much to trait for. Not even close to worth it, as juicy as it sounds. That’s like saying a warrior can have 40-60 seconds of stability, so it’s OP. You will NEVER see a warrior stack all stability utilities for the same reason. Not worth it. Move it down a tier so it’s not a grand master trait and then you will see some necros use it. Until then you cannot possibly use the 3 second stability every 10 seconds is OP argument. You can’t use it in any argument to validate anything; because it isn’t used. If someone is using it, then they will be easy to kill and it won’t bother you anyway.
