the meta has changed at an alarming rate
These interfaces are absolutely stunning. I spent a lot of time swapping between alts just to admire the artwork. Big props.
This was answered in another thread – you get both slots.
Yes, starting on June 23rd, from authorized retailers. =)
(Note: The Ultimate edition is only available through ArenaNet – in-game or from buy.guildwars2.com)
Good luck.
Where are you getting your information? It’s been confirmed that there will be no versions of HoT beyond what is offered.

Just want to clarify since I saw this come up a couple of times in this thread and we haven’t actually released our full official patch notes for 6/23 yet….
Ascended Gear will be staying 5% better than Exotic Gear. Gear beyond the tiers we already have are not going to be added and our existing tiers won’t change, they won’t be our main end-game form of progression for your characters/account for all the reasons we’ve covered before – it isn’t what we think Gw2 is about.
Masteries is being added to PvE to help provide this system as our form of progression for PvE moving forward, and the WvW ability system exists for WvW and will be what we use to expand WvW in the future.
To more directly answer some of your point….We are adding a system that lets you change the stats for your ascended gear (weapons and armor) next Tuesday – which will cost a combination of 10 spirit shards, piece you don’t want anymore, 5 ectos, and an exotic insignia of the stats you want to convert to. Legendary Gear will remain the gear that can freely change stats any time.

(Edited to clarify weapons and armor)
I plan on purchasing the deluxe edition, so I’m good on the character slot. Just wondering.
Back to the revelry
I haven’t seen this question asked yet in the uproar. I have the game already, so by definition of “comes with core game” I should get a second core game account serial, right?
Okay I see, I was just looking at the high tiers.
Where are you seeing the core is included? On the site it says the expac is $50.

Colin ended ANet’s E3 segment with the opening of HoT preorders.

They changed their mind, Ice Bow getting buffed
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/June-23-Specialization-Changes
They now have a moment where you pass the “playable” point. Beyond that it was still loading 75% more of the update. As that is not needed to play I suspect they are putting more HoT stuff in and making it ready for a more extensive playable beta during E3
So I suspect the reveal this week is bout thier pressence at E3.
This is in the patch notes. It’s just a streamer client that allows you to play the game while you’re getting a new patch. You’ll see it every time we get new content.
Revenant just doesn’t make sense to me. I feel like they’re going to be pigeonholed into using two complimenting legends rather than whatever combo you want because of the lack of weapon swapping.
Like, it wouldn’t make sense to use Mallyx and Ventari, because Staff has support skills. And even if I did find a way for it to work, what gear stats would I seek? Settler’s?
Or what if I wanted Ventari and Shiro (assumed to be high dps)? What weapon would I use? My Ventari skills would be useless because I wouldn’t run staff with Shiro, and my (assumed DPS) swords would be useless with Ventari because they’re not support? And again, what gear stats do I wear?
This has been my issue with the Revenant since introduction. Am I looking at it incorrectly?
Why would ventari skills be useless? Don’t confuse legend skills with weapon skills.
Mallyx + Ventari also has sense. A lot of it actually. You can support with MAllyx by pulling conditions from your allies and sending them out to enemies.
Same with Jalis + Ventari, stability and protection to allies + ventari skills.
That’s a good point, however your gear choice would likely be centered around support, thereby making your condition damage negligible. Or if you center on conditions, your support skills won’t be potent. I don’t want to be lugging around a set of gear for every single stat/legend combo that an encounter may call for.

When was it nerfed?
Wait untill you see what all of the other shouts do before jumping to conclusions. Yes they said that the Necro shouts do damage, and that one of them summons things per enemey hit, but the others might be more supportive.
“Reaper shouts differ from warrior and guardian shouts in that they focus more on harming foes than they do on bolstering allies.”

Can we get Kudzu’s drawstring on the list of legendary improvements? It’s just a brown string connecting to thin air, since the flower petals are kind of floating around at the tips. A gold, ephemeral strand would fit nicely.
I was thinking about how the tech might work in keeping specific tabs character bound whereas the wardrobe is account bound, and I’m no programmer, but it sounds like quite a hurdle. Hopefully being able to name tabs will help with organizing for alts.
Often I look to build armor sets based on a particular vision, but sometimes don’t know the name, location, or weight of the armor. I spend more time than I would like sifting through the ample choices for that one armor piece that I want, every time I want it, if I happen to change my armor. Now this isn’t a huge problem, or even a problem at all for that matter, but it would be awesome if I could organize my wardrobe for frequently used skins, or skins that I’m in the processes of building a look for. I think I’ve come up with a pretty fun way to keep it all in check while creating a worthy gem store item!
The wardrobe tab!
Enabling us to crate our own categories for armor and weapons via drag/drop or select/add (photo album style, technology allowing of course) would be pretty awesome. I envision it as a function similar to inventory bags or bank tabs, that will give us a chance to expand, organize, and play our way .
The left navigational bar will house our new tabs underneath of the current “weapon skins” option. When I click this new tab, there will be a button to the right that allows me to navigate through the entire wardrobe, clicking check boxes on items until I have chosen everything that I want stored in the new tab. After those items are selected, I click the “add to” button, and voila! All of those chosen skins are now in my new wardrobe tab (which I can rename whatever I want)!
Thoughts?

General idea of precursor crafting has been released, and I must say, I am intrigued.
When the announcement even took place in January, and Colin said that they have been working on ways to keep the old maps vibrant, I will admit to my skepticism. It’s a difficult task to keep people spread out when an expansion opens a map. However, after reading about Map Bonuses (described in the post linked), I am impressed.
It’s been some time since we’ve seen real, useful rewards that we don’t hope pops out of a shiny chest. Rewarding useful crafting materials and sending players on elaborate quests to use them sounds like the kind of thing that will keep me busy for a long time. I’m excited to participate in this system, and look forward to hearing more.
Thanks guys! Keep up the good work.
meta is meta bro
Be mindful that these were chinese patch notes. We already know business is not as usual in GW2 China. Maybe the requirement for WvW map was removed because of chinese world demographics? And maybe three new faces are faces we have already received? It could also be the case that shadow weapons translate differently and it’s something we’ve already seen?
I hope we get all these things but just be aware in case we don’t that this is in fact the Chinese version
The Revenant:
We have so far seen two legends that perform very different roles in combat. Jalis, the supportive role, and Mallyx, the condition heavy attrition role. In regards to GW2 gear, it seems difficult to imagine a scenario where a single stat set can be useful for switching between these two legends in combat (as we are going to want to do). For example, I may want to use the Jalis/Mallyx combo, but the gear I would need for either of those to have maximum effectiveness are different. Do the other legends compliment one another more effectively?
It makes sense for revenant. Original spec channels legends, Rit spec summons them
The ritualist only channeled ancestral legends. at least to my knowledge.
Sorry, I was speaking of the hypothetical Ritualist that may be the Revenant.
Camera changes, stability changes, and… maybe SAB?
It makes sense for revenant. Original spec channels legends, Rit spec summons them
Also consider the fact that “Ritualist” might be Revenant’s spec
Unless you’re strictly playing range then you should get fair use out of the black powder
Rapid fire on gliding targets yes pls
One thing I would like to see for Ranger from HoT is the return of exotic pets with difficult or objective based acquisition. Getting the black widow and black Moa pets in GW was very satisfying and immersive for the ranger profession. Hunting the beast. I’d love to see some type of ranger specific adventures that reward you with awesome trophy pets
One thing that you will learn quickly about GW2 is the inability to liken the professions to any other classes in any other MMO
The most helpful thing I find to do when getting back into a game I took a hiatus from is start a new character. This way you will learn what the game has as the game would teach a new player, introducing anything important ( including changes at the new player level that was introduced relatively recently). Also it prevents you from getting on a level 80, trying to do new things with little support form the community, and then burning out from that type of experience.
Maybe I don’t understand the OP. How do you interpret what Jon said about the trinity?
I wonder if it was weird asking Toker to carry the trophy back to the hotel
Server population directly correlates to WvW queue times.
From the information we know about HoT PvE (new defiance, focus on open world, large scale content) I am expecting the GS to not have a place in dungeons and be a tanky weapon that will benefit that type of content (CCs, fields, etc).
You are confusing specialization with mastery “points”
Sorrow’s Furnace is in the bottom of the bronze, and I’ve done maps on four characters. You just have to be patient. Removing WvW from world completion is not going to happen, so learn to adapt.
@EvesDesire.2596 AoE damage on necro is fun but in a group setting any trash mobs are getting nuked with your party’s cleave damage before you ever have a chance to ramp up enough conditions for your bleeds to be nearly as effective as dagger auto with the targets that it does hit. Also Rabid and Sinister give the same precision values, so you’re only trading power for toughness in PvE which is a weird decision.
@Cerbeius.7129 I did you one better: Here’s the Axe/Focus version of the build For Dagger/Warhorn (which I would recommend) replace Axe Training with Chill of Death in Spite and Reaper’s Precision with Banshee’s Wail in Curses.
If you have to make a comparison I’d say Dervish/Ritualist as well, for sure. For some reason I feel like it will really bring me back to GW1, and I hope I’m right.
I wouldn’t place bets just yet, be mindful that Rytlock used S/P when he was a Warrior. Also keep in mind that Revenant will have a specialization that gives access to additional weapon types.
I mostly hope he uses axe though.
The issue with hybrid isn’t Dhuumfire or Celestial, it’s that there’s no particular benefit to choosing hybrid over straight power (outside of play style decisions). The bleeds are negligible considering you’re giving up a lot of condi damage by not rolling Sinister trinkets anyway.
If I did want to run a hybrid, I’d go full Sinister jewels, zerk back piece, zerk
power weapons (axe/focus or dagger/warhorn, whatever you prefer) with bloodlust/force and sinister scepter/dagger with bursting/condi stacking (I prefer earth, works well with Necro condi builds) and Aristocracy runes.
Is ANET just going to just look the other way on this one? It’s going to make no canonical sense to allow a Revenant to defeat Zhaitan. I’m hoping at the very least they’ll add some sort of dialogue that makes it appear as if Revenant professions are “experiencing events of the past”.
Edit: I know there are more threads on this in other subs but I was hoping for some insight from a lore perspective. We all know how quickly posts degenerate in other subforums. I apologize for the redundancy. I enjoy the discussions that happen here. Next time I’ll ask my question differently.

Just like on the current professions, you will start at level 1 when you create a new Revenant character. We want it to be easily accessible for anyone with Heart of Thorns which means not putting it behind unnecessary content gates.
Hi Roy,
Will there be any attempt in making the Revenant sensible from a lore perspective? As it stands we will be seeing a class that has emerged AFTER Zhaitan has fallen, yet participating in the personal story that defeats him. I understand the mechanical need to have Revenant start like any other class, however I’m worried that their lore will be completely immersion breaking.
That’s why I’m glad my Ranger is Sylvari. The cultural armor, T3 especially, is a really good looking piece.
It isn’t going to make sense but I definitely do not see ANet creating an entire inter-racial personal story line for the class.
All i want for my Druid would be a Normal brown robe
will be very disappointed if we don’t get one
You will take your normal brown trenchcoat and you will like it.
I get you want to discourage leaving game
