Ways to make Gold.
1. Doing multiple dungeon paths once a day. example: COF p1, AC 1 2 3, HoW p1, etc
2. *Frostgorge Champ train – is getting nerfed, will find out by how much tomorrow.
3. T6 mat farming – just kill mobs that drop t6 mats in frostgorge, southsun, and cursed shore. This may surpass the champ train depending on the extent of the coin nerf. especially since we can have high MF while wearing zerk gear now.
4. TP flipping
5. World bosses – Being nerfed for the most part, only 4 an hour No idea how temples will work under with the megaserver system though.
Things to do.
1. Salvage every green/blue you come across to raise your luck, and get magic find.
2. make sure to do daily and monthly for laurels
3.purchase an ascended amulet with a utility slot as soon as you have enough laurels, and get a magical infusion to go with it when you are able.
4. If you’re interested in ascended gear, raise your crafting to 450 asap so you can make daily materials
5. WvW and Edge of Mist
6. Map completion for…..stuff.
7. Check the new world boss event schedule tomorrow, attend, get rares, have fun, et8. Oh yeah, be sure to get into a nice size guild you can do Guild missions with.
Also be sure to read tomorrows patch notes, there will be a lot of changes.
I assumed they were talking about the PvP reward track bags only.
Would be nice if it did though.
who are you to decide how the game is to be played? Do what you want, block people getting mad at you, let them do what they want.
Letting people do what they want does NOT include allowing them to verbally abuse people.
indeed, hence the report function that is usable by everyone…
The problem is that when you have to report someone for acting badly it can impact your enjoyment in the game.
It’s really nice that some people can just ignore what’s being said to them. Some people can’t…or can’t as easily. I’m happy to ignore anything anyone says to me, because I don’t give a kitten ..but I recognize there are people who do, who are affected by verbal abuse.
Reporting them after the fact doesn’t excuse them for doing it and doesn’t mean that game mechanics that encourage that behavior should remain in the game.
Should we get rid of dungeons and lgf as well because of all the rude people that can be found in them?
Nah, because dungeons aren’t needed to get a decently high AP.
Even if it was required, there is always the chance they could have been carried.
Coming from someone that hardly does any dungeons at all, they would be extremely disappointed if my AP were used as the reason to recruit me.
I think there hasn’t been a month since i’m here, i made a lvl 80 guardian in like 9 days. And i’m just getting bored right now, i think that cosmetics are pointless, my sword hits 900-1100 just as your super legendary awesome looking greatsword, so i don’t see the point on investing so many hours to make a legendary.
I do have a guild, it’s fun, i talk to people, but meh, i don’t see like, the awesome this game was when i was the 1st lvls.
There are so many thing you can add to this game to make it more entertaining.I find no challenge, i find that although you can make a lot of builds, and all professions can use many weapons, this is not the real world, this is not the “do whatever u want, u don’t need to follow every1” because u do. And i mean, why would i want to use a staff instead of a greatsword in my guardian for example? It makes no sense, because the monsters are just bags of hp and i only want the thing that grants me the most DPS to just destroy those bags.
Super dragons like the shatterer and that kind of bosses, are awesome, the 1st time, once you’ve done it 4-5 times is just spam ur abilities, collect loot, move to the next boss. THEY ARE NOT EVEN HARD. You even hit nothing, like literally nothing, idk if it’s a bug or what, but in many bosses while they move, you just hit the air and u make dmg.
I don’t know, i find no challenge. I come from TERA, in tera, to kill a BAM (kittenMonster) you actually take your time, and it’s actually hard, and you can actually die several times trying.
I don’t see this game to be for hardcore players, people like me willing to spend hours playing and that want to actually get rewarded for it. I could be playing 15 hours a day (i am not, lol) and some1 that just gets online 5 hours, there would be no difference between us.
You CAN try and play with non-common builds, but in your head, and you can see, that the best thing here is to go full DPS, because there’s no challenge, you don’t need control/support/dmg to fight a boss or anything, you need only dmg and maybe some support if you’re alone, but that’s all.
I expect the upcoming patch to be awesome, otherwise i’ll totally regret buying this game and not keep playing tera.
Have you been to fractals yet?
General open world in this game isn’t really meant to be super challenging, aside from a couple super bosses that they’re probably going to be adding more of in the future, and the Queens gauntlet arena’s if they ever make a return. (technically not open world, but they’re not instances either.)
The most active are those who have higher rank in wvw, the more populated the server is the stronger it is in wvw. So the best servers are Blackgate, Tarnished Coast, Jade Quarry, Dragonbrand…
I think only half of the NA server have a healthy population, the rest are pretty empty.
https://leaderboards.guildwars2.com/en/na/wvw
But next week ANet will release the new megaserver, which is kinda of a server merging but without eliminating the servers, they will start with the lower population maps and expand to the rest of the maps. So being in a small or big server wont make much difference for pve.
True for the most part, but not always.
Example: Yak’s Bend is higher ranked in WvW than Sanctum of Rall is, but SOR open world PvE population greatly outnumbers Yak’s Bend.

This may serve to lower the prices and stabilize itself if, as you say, everybody will be doing it.
^ I agree with this.
It reminds me of when Dark Matter was first introduced, and people were buying exotic gear with pricey runes/sigils, salvaging them for Dark Matter, and then selling the rune or sigil back and making most of their money back, or even profiting sometimes.
Eventually the gear became a lot more expensive than the sigil or rune it contained.
Last I checked, everything listed in OP could be purchased from a merchant in Eternal Battlegrounds for small amounts of badges. As much as I dislike WvW, I see nothing wrong with having some skins exclusive to different content.
PvP Stalwart armor cannot be purchased in WvW afaik. http://www.gw2db.com/items/50339-stalwarts-leggings
I’ve only seen Invader’s, and another armor skin that you can get off karma merchants.
I have about 40 uni dyes atm.
Now, I never bothered buying abyss, celestial, or any other expensive dyes because I didn’t like the character bound nature.
I also have a couple characters who don’t have many dyes unlocked, knowing that we will get an unidentified dye for each duplicate, should I identify these dyes to see if I get anything good, and use the duplicates on other characters?
Sell them now to the highest bidder and place a bid for 40 unis at 20s.
I am pretty sure, those orders will fill even before you can log in on patch day.
If not, i will send you 5 gold.
Thank you.
Yeah, Queen’s champs have been dropping those colorful bags long before champ bags existed.

I think it would be very useful, if anyone has a big issue with it they can simply leave it off.
I’ve always thought gw2 social systems were poor at communication/relaying information.
Example
Note:Not saying gw2 should adopt these systems, as most wouldn’t work with the new mega servers coming, just using them as a comparison.
In a classic mmo I’ve played.
- Had the ability to create chat groups that could be made private with a password required to join, or public for everyone to join
- /who insert zone function. Was extremely useful when you wanted to find out if someone or a group of people was in a zone before wasting time going there, of if you wanted to find out where everyone was.
- variation of region chat (covered whole areas rather than a particular map)
- alliances with chat and alliance messages. Some alliances had as many as 100+ members, which was really helpful when organizing/planning big open raids.
Based on this post, most likely.

The coin from champ bags is a big reason why ecto costs 38 silver today instead of 20 silver.
Anet has a good idea of how much gold they are taking out of the economy with the changes. I’m inclined to support them here.
Plus the waypoint changes essentially double your expenses on a death.
Not charging for armor repairs in WvW is a good change.
I would blame
ascendedexotic crafting for that.5 to 10 ectos per craft with exotics. As little as 2 ectos for ascended.
I was included the fact that people have to use exotics to level up from 400-500.
On top of people who didn’t bother with crafting until it became a requirement for ascended gear, which jumped up demand for t6 and ecto even more.
Save silver, lose gold!
No repair cost + less loot for those who win = reward for failure!!
It’s a bad sign when a game starts to reward failure.
It’s a bad sign when players aren’t correctly reading the blogs. Let me ask you, do you ever notice when a champ bag drops money? I’m not talking about the EQUIPMENT OR RESOURCES that comes out of the bag, but the money. You know, cash, moolah, greenbacks, copper, silver, golds, MMMMMMMOOOOOOOOONNNNNNNNEEEEEEEEYYYYYYYYYYY, whatever you want to call it.
No? Then why would you begin to notice a marginal drop in something that was so inconsequential, you never noticed it unless someone mentioned it?
Out of curiosity, I went and soloed a champ event for the hell of it. 98 copper from completing the event itself. Nothing to write home about, it covers some of the waypoint cost. Opened the exotic chest it dropped, I get a little more than 2.5 silver. Total amount of roughly 3.5 silver. Per champion in a 1-15 area. Out of the chest, I happened to drop an item worth 40s. Now, compared to the actual cash drop, which I wont miss even if they removed it entirely, the value of the items themselves are going to be much higher.
It used to be 8s per chest every time. At 60 chests an hour this was 4.8g per hour just from the coin drops. This chance was nerfed from 100% down to about 50%, giving you about 2.4g/hr just from coin drops. It is a very significant part of the loot provided, but also causing inflation. They are further reducing this in order to cut down on the gold inflation, as they should.
Nah, they didn’t, at least not from my experience, and at most you generally only get 50 chest an hour.
This was a vid made before the first nerf, the inventory went from 174 .44g to 177.32g. It came nowhere close to 4g.

I would blame ascended crafting for that. (plus ecto salvaging for luck and crystalline dust)
Can the 1 big chest per char, per day limit be removed now that these world bosses are limited?
Being in the same guild seems to be considered as a top priority when sorting people, so I’m more worried about several guilds attempting to do the same mission at once.
Example: What happens when two guilds have the same Guild challenge, and they get sorted into the same server? Not sure what happens, because this has never occurred on any guild missions I’ve been on, but wouldn’t the megaservers greatly increase the chance of this happening?
I remember a red post stating to just use them.
If the item has just been transmuted once, you will also unlock the previous skin.
If you currently have items that have been transmuted, you will unlock the appearance for both the first item used for stats and the last item used for appearance in your final transmuted item. This means that if you have only transmuted a given item once (for example, if you’ve used a single Transmutation Stone to combine the appearance of Dawn with the stats of another greatsword) you’ll unlock the skins for both items in that transmutation.
How is it known that a transmutation charge will be required to transmute a below level 80 equip?
Dying is punishment enough, since it shows they goofed.
The only thing that can make a player better is if they think about exactly why/how they died, and come up with ways to correct the error.
Nah, if anything I think some of these changes will bring some people back.
People complained you gained 10% more damage when Ascended Gear was introduced.
Not people complain that you lose 10% damage when Ferocity will be introduced.People complain.
Is exotic going to be losing damage too though?
I concur that something needed to be done to encourage players not to just farm Champ trains all day, but I still think that slapping diminishing returns on the Champ bags would have been a better solution. Removing or reducing the gold from events is just going to make them less appealing, especially if the event in question does not involve fighting foes and so players have no opportunity to earn extra money from them.
Alternatively, perhaps ANet would consider giving a major buff to the karma from events, making them a prime source for karma since I know many newer players are hurting for karma.
Personally, I prefer this over diminishing returns. If there is some DR placed on champs, and it becomes too troublesome to hop to other zones, and kill champs (they ill be competing with other groups) people may just go back to farming t6 mats directly from mobs.
Also I think one of the major appeals to champ farming is the access, you can log in and jump right in without having to worry about looking for a group or anything. If that access is lost, a lot of people may lose interest.
As of now, even without the coin, champ boxes still give up a lot of cores and such.
Anyone know if there are blade shards in the aetherblade cache chests?
Just watched an old video of the JP, and wondered if anet might have added them to those chest as well, lol.
But again, I repeat for the 3rd (4th?) time in this thread, I do not run champ trains, and yet this nerf still looks to be hurting my play style. If they nerf events and champ bags (not just champ trains), then what activities are they going to replace them with? Trying to nudge players towards other existing play styles is not a sufficient answer. If they want players to stop doing the existing content then they’ll need to add a lot fo new content.
3. Why is nudging players towards other existing, supported content not sufficient to replace champ farming? It was good enough before champ farming existed, yet somehow it’s not sufficient now? Explain.
Some of the activities that current champ farmers did pre champ farming are no longer around in the same form that they use to be. There was pent/shelt, etc, but that got dealt with. After that some people mainly focused on cof, while others focused mainly on world bosses, farms in malchor, etc.
Then the big chest from world bosses got turned into a daily, and a lot of people started complaining about how there was no way to make money in open world.
Then the champ train surfaced, and after a few nerfs, here we are today.
Basically, prior to champ train people were upset and complaining about open world loot, that’s what they were doing.
Champ trains should have been nerfed a long time ago, seriously. I don’t agree on the nerf on the dynamic events though.
Wonder if this will have a significant effect against gold inflation.
They were already nerfed a long time ago.
Some patches ago they reduced the amount of coin from the champ bags you get.
As for gold inflation I doubt it, the real farmers don’t run the champ trains anymore, FSG probably gives you no more than 1g pure an hour now, probably less on a lot of occasions.
Why not wait until all the blog post are released to make a thread like this?
Champ train is ridiculously boring. Doing the same rotation over and over and over again. I can’t understand the mentality of some players
Sure you can chat with your fellow farmers while doing it, but is it something you really want to do for hours and hours? Grinding. That’s what you are doing lol
It’s something to do when I randomly log on at 1am on a weekend, and not many people are on, and no big world events are going down.
Guess this is a good time to mention this
1. Make a perma level 51-53 character
2. Open all your champ bags on that character.
3. Salvage all of the equips you get
3. Sell the linen and rugged leather. (unless you need it)
Was wondering this as well, I have some Fused gauntlets that was put on medium armor, and I’d like to get it on a heavy piece of armor.
Sidenote: What dye did you use on that Zephyrite helm?
Personally, I’d advise against buying exotics with karma, since it has become a pain to obtain unless you’re a fractal runner. Better to save it for ascended crafting if you plan on doing that.
I think it’s easier to buy it off the TP, since there are many ways to make gold in this game.
The Teq weapon skins can’t be sold on tp though.
I’ve actually never seen anyone in game who has one.
Yeah, things are always going to be somewhat unbalanced, that’s just how these things usually are.
They updated them for April.
Just because it’s not currently April doesn’t mean they can’t make adjustments to them.
Not really, tons of people doing world events depending on the server and time.
It’s working I think, I had to map money today to get the on sale aetherblade armor, because I didn’t want to pay the large chunk of gold it would have taken, lol.
It’s been suggested many times. I can see individual pieces being priced around 300 gems. (or 400 gems like all the other individual pieces)
I already have a suit of magitech medium armor, and I’d like to use the head piece on other outfits/builds, but I’m probably not going to buy an entire new set just to get the head piece.
Wish I could find one of those videos of someone utilizing a vit/healing build, that have a bunch of people wailing on them, but unable to kill them.
How did he scam you?
Considering zerker gear is still BiS for fastest runs, I’d say no. I don’t get what someone would switch to? They are making zerker gear slightly worse, why would anyone want to switch to something even lower?
Because it doesn’t given vit or tougness, and now that it does less dmg, and people cannot kill as fast, some people may want to pick up some pieces with more defense.
Return pent/shelt, etc back to their old faster spawn times.
(if they haven’t been changed back already, haven’t did any of those events in orr in a long time, so no idea what their current spawn times are)
Hi,
I was in a solo arena match a few minutes ago and someone was typing in some oriental language. Another player then told the person to stop and called them a (only using the words as a reference from the chat) “rice picker.” They said this to the person twice during our short match.
I reported that player for taking his own issues with not being able to accept a different race or culture into the game. I also kindly told him(or her) I reported him(or her). Their reply was lololol I’ve never been banned for that. (not exact words )
So my question is, does Anet not care about racism? Will anything happen to this person or was he right to laugh at me for reporting because it’s a waste of time?
Reports should only be used for bots and spammers…If you can’t handle other people on a game you shouldn’t be playing an MMO or even using the internet…
No, if people were allowed to throw any abuse they wanted in chat, it would create a hostile in game environment, and give Gw2 a bad reputation as far as community goes.
Verbal abuse and offensive language should be reported.
The reason people pick Queendsdale over FSG and Orr has very very little to do with down scaling.
Orr used to be packed, it’s not like everyone decided to pick up and leave because of level scaling.
So, if you weapon swap will you lose your stacks, or will that only be caused by completely unequipping the weapon?
Smells like Maplestory’s skill system.
:(
/shrug.
Sure you can chat with your fellow farmers while doing it, but is it something you really want to do for hours and hours? Grinding. That’s what you are doing lol
