HAH Another person who refers to short bows as toy bows.
But yeah, Iike the ascalonian ghastly short bow. it has a good length
Exactly, they also need to change the terrain, right now most of the fights happen in narrow spaces. which leads to zerg mentality, unlike in real life where, numbers dont count for anything in narrow spaces, this isn’t the case, numbers do count in a zerg fest.
It would all be rectified if they would open up the spaces, to allow people to flank and collide with massive groups from different sides instead of just front and back
something that DoaC’s RvR system accounts for.
They’re called Paragons.

If you love it, work for it lol.
Seriously all of the games end game material is cosmetic upgrade.
with a fair bit requiring transmutations.
and dagger main hand.
its not just gamers, its a lot of people.
And it’s their not there.
Like the one from Guildwars, where you can make your pet more tanky or more damagey.
Have like actual pet trainers that allow you to retrain the pet for a small amount of shinies.
But unlike the first guildwars, pets evolution will be mirrored in the pets appearance.
A hearty beast : looking big strong and docile
A playful beast: adorable cute but not as big as a hearty beast
An elder beast: looking much like its wild grown up counterparts
An aggressive beast: looking more feral
A dire beast: ferocious looking whilst almost as big as a hearty beast
Who knows. something like that.
Maybe give them little customizable ornaments too that reflect their training, metal claw attachments for aggressive and dire birds and moas, A collar for playful beasts, armor plating for hearty wolves, bears and boars.
Those spiked collars were one of the reasons the black moa was my favourite pet in guildwars plus the fact it was HUGE, these juvenile moas are tiny in comparison.
Oh and also, the pet AI needs serious tweaking, seriously.
They still stand 3 – 5 meters infront of me when I come to a stop and draw unwanted aggro.
Opening strikes is bugged.
Sometimes it wont activate the vulnerability.
They need to up the greatsword damage and turn the longbow into a viable weapon, its damage output is incredibly low.
The greatsword is just great for keeping mobile as it doesnt lock you in place like the sword but again… damage…. seriously damage.
Warrior’s long bow skill 1: fires 2 arrows.
Thief’s Short bow skill1: fires an arrow that bounces and hits multiples.
for Ranger….
Longbow skill 1: does more damage the farther away you are…. but its not like its a high powered attack or anything
Shortbow skill1: same range as the longbow, rate of fire is faster so you still do more damage compared to the longbow and if you want to hit multiple targets you need a trait to do so.
Damage wise the shortbow is excellent for dps and keeping mobile, so Ive no real issue with it but with the longbow… its like… :| I get that it has a devastating AOE with cripple which doubles as an excellent Crowd control, but its basic damage is soooo weak even if you placed vulnerability on the target, that and the fact that warriors fire twice as many arrows as you on their basic attack.
I still wanna know why i cant make a character named Rizzy
Kilroy…. A STONEKIN!!!!!!
Rodgrot was a man… he was a dragon man… or maybe he was just a dragon!!
RODGORT!! DUN DUN DUN DUNDUNDUN DUN DUNT
Burninating all the peoples something something
And then Rodgort comes in the NIGGGHT!
Anet stated that they will be doing expansions very different than gw1. While it was good, it was unsustainable and took way too much time. There will be level cap increases. There will not be new tutorial content. The effort required to create new tutorial contet wastes too much of the development cycle. Raising the level cap allows easier balancing of new content for higher difficulty
source
It falls short on certain areas.
Dances for example. only 1 dance per race, no male or female :|
Medium armour for male is serverly lacking in style, its always either a Trench Coat or an Asymmetrical piece, or a combination of both, aside from the Ascalonian Catacombs medium armour.
Diminishing rewards aka the anti bot code is more like an anti human code.
Various ingame bugs.
Too tired to think of more.
Im happy with it but not fully happy with it.
DO NOT WANT!
For the love of melandru, transmute that stuff.
Thats why I said probably.
GW2 First Expansion:Return of the trinity starring Monks
Monks turned into Guardians.
they upgraded their discipline to include being able to wear plate armourI actually feel like Guardians are a more direct analogue of W/Mos. At least, I’ve been quite successful playing my Guardian in almost the same way I played my W/Mo.
My Warrior I play more like my A/W crit build from GW1, with the only exception being the slightly heavier armor.
1 word, Hamstorm.
GW2 First Expansion:Return of the trinity starring Monks

I’d imagine they’ll do it just like GW1, which was a great model. No level cap increase, so that the majority of new content is relevant to people who are 80.
I think it’s pretty obvious actually, we’ll go after each dragon one by one. This seems likely that we’ll get some of the same areas of GW1, as those areas hold the other dragons.
Not without first reuniting 2 human nations first.
the Human race is dwindling with just Divinity’s Reach as its stronghold, we need Cantha’s army.
You got mass waypoints, no real need for mounts.
Waypoints are expensive for level 80s and take away immersion, Id like to be able to explore the scenery of Guildwars 2 casually whilst riding on the backs of some helpless animal bound to serve me as my artificial legs.
Having a passive permanent speedboost with a visual aesthetic that disapears when you get into combat does not ruin the game.
Its a lot easier than having to keep on swapping your utility skills from +10 – 20percent passive movement speed to something you actually use in combat since that boost is nullified the moment you enter combat.
Because of the trait system.
I was just thinking about this last night. I don’t have any predictions, but I’m curious as to how an expansion will be done.
Will there be more personal story?
A level increase? How does all the time invested into legendaries get effected by this?
I assume there will be more hearts, DE’s, vistas, skill challenges and such. It’s hard for me to think about what’s going to happen next.
Level cap makes level increase redundant, imo anyways, and in the last 4 guildwars campaigns its always been max level at 20.
As far as Legendaries go, they’ll probably make them with the continents flavour in mind, just a speculation.
And pretty much your personal story will be carried onto the new expansion except you wont have the new expansion’s tutorial as your story.
Its also pretty easily done with the method Guildwars2 chooses to tell a story, branched out beginings that meet at a common point.

Chronicles of Cantha
The races of Tyria sail towards Cantha ,as Zhaitan’s influences are dying, to discover its mysterious past under the rule of Isolationist Emperor Usoku, the displaced Tengu that once occupied much of the lands of Cantha become a new playable race as the Tyrian races along with the Tengu start diplomatic talks with the Isolationist humans of Cantha to open their doors again to non humans and join the races in a united fight against Kralkatorrik.
New Race: Tengu
New Profession: Probably Ritualist?
The Elonian Exodus
After forming a new Alliance with the Nation of Cantha, the Tyrian and Canthan forces now embark on their new journey to Elona, once a rich bountiful Nation, now a Nation in shackles and controlled by Palawa Joko, the players meet up with a new playable race, the Centaurs, despite the bad reputation they have with humans of tyria these Centaurs followed the leadership of Zhed Shadowhoof who saw a group of human heroes put aside their differences to free his people from the enslavement of Abbadon and Varesh
Together with the Tyrian and Canthan forces, the humans and Centaurs of Elona unite together to free their land from the yoke of Palawa Joko and defeat Kralkatorrik.
New Race: Centaur
New Profession: Paragon?
Return to the North
After the victory over Kralkatorrik the united races of Tyria (the world not the continent) now look to the north, the reclaim the land of the Norn and the Koda from the Dragon Jormag and the corrupted Sons of Svanir.
New Race: Kodan
New Profession: no idea.
Thats about it for my predictions.

If ANet ever went through a chinese/japanese (what ever,) cultural path, such as Blizzard did, I’d be forced to quit.

It already has and chances are will again.
You might also want to take note of the African, Egyptian and Arabian campaign called NightFall
Yeah…. Cantha doesn’t have samurais, they’re called warriors.
And since Katanas are swords, those are basically the same weapons a warrior would use and more.
Zaishen Challenges
Would be grand to have a similar system like that from Guildwars implemented in Guildwars2.
So after killing the final boss in the dungeon, there was no cutscene or anything of that sort.
The dungeon refused to end and thus no rewards were given

@Fungalstorm
HAhA nice Horatio Cained
50 bucks woulda been fair tbh
LMAO
Thief that cant lose aggro, thats sad XP
The bosses are not a problem in the least, anyone with a basic understanding of tactics will know to avoid boss AoEs and watch out for the heavy hitting skills as well as be accustomed to figuring out special boss tactics (such as seperating the lovers) the real problem is the trash mobs, attempting to do this with a team that just uses their own preferred build will often get you killed, it develops to a harsh meta due to the immense amount of hp and damage the trash mobs have, forcing people to build certain ways and bring very specific skills or you may as well give up. Really it seems that with how much damage mobs do, and how much health they have, ac feels like it was designed with the holy trinity in mind for some reason. It gets annoying when as a melee class you realize you would be a much better contribution to the team if you had picked ranged and kited with everyone else, hell even with everyone on the team focusing down an enemy it can take around two minutes to kill (not to mention it can most likely one-shot your squishies) and that isn’t fun, it isn’t exciting, its just tedious.
I can agree with this which is why I brought it up.
I get that trash mobs you want to make them hard to kill but to give them that much damage to the point that its pointless to melee…. i dont get it.
how come it looks nothing like Aidan’s coat?
Is this like the marhan’s grotto and granite citadel armour of guildwars where youve not finalized on the armour art?
Or is this supposed to be the final product?
Seconded.
Not saying that the forum mods are bad or anything, they’re doing a great job.
It’s just weird the forums are better than the game itself.
It’s actually a very well designed Dungeon, be it Story Mode or Explorable Mode.
Aside from the cheap mechanics of 100x hp and 100x hit damage that all dungeons in Gw2 has, AC has some good mechanics.
Lets look at the Story Mode Bosses.
Master Ranger Nente – he hits pretty hard and half way through the fight he summons a wolf, 1/4 hp he summons another wolf, if teams ignore the wolves they get overwhelmed and chances are they would wipe, so youd have to coordinate your attack on the wolf and at the same time, avoid Nente as he comes down from his pedestal to hit you.
Ralena and Vassar – Most people think this is super hard, but its actually pretty simple. 4 people focus on Ralena and take her down as fast as they can, 1 person Knock Backs Vassar
Kasha Blackblood – Dodge the red circles, shes by far the simplest boss to defeat but this is practice for the CM explorable boss on the Seraph path.
King Adelbern, he pulls you in with a skill as a practice for Lt Kohler in explorable mode.
Then we have Explorable Mode.
Not only are the paths designed from Easy to Hard but stuff there is actually pretty enjoyable.
Path 1 the hardest part is where hodgins tries to read a book and Graveling burrows pop up, you need to remember what order they come out in and coordinate your attacks as such
Path 2 the trap part, 3 of the heaviest armour types down stairs whilst the 2 of the lighter armour types upstairs manning 2 trap switches on each side as the 3 downstairs keep the attention of the mobs in the trap range
Path 3 is just hell without a coordinate team, you need to pay real close attention to the calls and get to the burrows asap.
Does AC deserve all the bad press its got?
I don’t think so, it deserves to be recognized as one of the best dungeons in Gw2
(edited by Rizzy.8293)
Because the calender in Gw2 is GMT 0
You’re GMT -8 which means you’re 8 hours behind Greenwich Mean Time so when its October 1st in Greenwich you’re still september 30th.
It happens I guess. but if I recall, it’s set to GMT 0.
That explains a lot.
things can kill you without you seeing them in wvw, its called culling.
But if anything thieves got a buff since the last patch
I actually like underwater combat…
its fun
So you’re 80 and you failed at the dungeon.
Dungeon rule one = Dont Standd in Red Circles
Dungeon Rule two = Rez downed players near you
Dungeon Rule three = When defeated don’t be stupid and expect someone to spend 30 seconds whilst being attacked by mobs to rez you. Rez yourself at the WP and run back.
His grandmother would be so ashamed of him
You do know that server population =/= amount of people logged on at the time, right?
And that server population =/= How many people chose it to be their home server, regardless wether they’re online or offline.
the skill system is boring for me, 10 weapon skills that cant be changed. :|
I was hoping they would have more weapon skills and you can choose the skills to make a build unique to you, but whatevs.
I dont know what im going to do after I get my ascalonian catacombs boots tomorrow.
Slowly explore the world and unlock my map?
I guess.
Yup good post.
I dont even get the 60 tokens for the first run of the day in a dungeon
It just gives me 40 – 20 – 2 on different paths.
This anti bot code is an anti human code.
the trinity was rarely if ever needed in any MMO, it’s just always been the path of least resistance, and I do disagree with their decision to remove healing and tanking, I enjoy healing and I enjoy the structure the trinity offers for PUGs, if I want trinity free gameplay I can do it just as well in other games.
Really?
Because I’ve 2 manned razorfen downs with a friend on WOW back in the vanilla days I was a druid in cat form and he was a rogue and we stealthed all the way to the lich to kill him, occasionally id need to pop back to NE form to heal him, hes still dependant on me to keep him alive
And you can tank in guildwars2, tanking doesn’t mean HEY HIT ME I CAN TAKE IT.
Tanking means holding the aggro and dodging the attacks.
A lot of players love to heal. A lot of players love to tank. And I don’t mean the gimmick healing and tanking that Gw2 has either. Removing the Holy Trinity was one of the worst things an mmo could do. Some things are not meant to be changed. Enjoy your zerg fest Gw2 fan boys….
Im not Fanboy I believe Gw2 has A LOT of flaws, but getting rid of the trinity and having people synergize with one another was one of the few right things its done.
