We have 3 people at this moment, and we need about 2 to 5 more, to get 5 or 8 people in total. This way we can get to know eachother’s playstyle better and become better and better together.

I can’t help to remark the following facts showing a total failure with this patch:
- The rewards are horrible:
- Nobody wants minis, they’re not worth anything. At the most they’re a “oh well I have it, and luckily it won’t take up bank space cause it’s a collectible”.
- Desert rose is a copy of the flower backpack from “The secret of Karka Island” and is just dyed red. It isn’t anything new.
- The Zephyr backpack is a copy of the multiple other backpacks we have in-game.
- A chance at aetherized weapons. RNG….
- They promise future content, but the future content is actually part of the present, making the present actually nothing but a promise. This update is just saying that we’ll get new content, but it doesn’t bring new content itself.
- In the voting they also bring an incentive to get people buying more gems for buying BLTC keys with them, just a money drain imo.
- Feigned “the player can change something”-scenario. Evon has about 10 times more appeal than Kiel, due to her bland character and the very very uneven advantages they offer.
- No noteworthy WvW changes, catapult mastery is hardly what the WvW community is looking for.
- No noteworthy PvP changes, we don’t need aspect arenas, cause that can hardly be called PvP.
- 3 new activities (aspect arena included) each of them very much like Crab Toss, Belcher’s Bluff, Sanctum Sprint and other unpopular, randomly added events because the update had to have significance (which it doesn’t).
- A bunch of new achievements, to encourage achievement farming.
All in all… I say this patch lacks a lot. If only Anet would decide not to hurry with updates to try bring one every 2 weeks, they could make permanent content that did mean something.

I agree, this is the best patch I EVER had in Guild Wars 1 (counting from the beta back in july/august). YES, it even beat halloween!
It should be way more than 500. 5000 would be more fair compensation for the thousands of hours it took to get 50/50 HoM.
I sort of agree.
A 2000+ AP bonus for people who got themselves Guild Wars 1 Prophecies, Guild Wars 1 Factions, Guild Wars 1 Nightfall, Guild Wars 1 Eye of the North
AND
completed each of them and got 50/50 in HoM seems rather more adequate
Not at all a problem. It’s a way to reward loyal Anet customers. I’m totally fine with that, not having 50/50 HoM myself. Also, the time invested to get 50/50 HoM is praiseworthy.
Thanks for all the reactions and cooperation so far
Added all the suggestions! There’s a big list of items with only 1 vote. If you want one of them to shine, get them up!
Actually this is a very interesting idea.
I think a sort of faction war would also give WvWvW more feel. Right now it’s servers… but servers don’t exist in Tyria. Tyria is one world, not 40+ different worlds, like we see in WvWvW. Instead create different factions and make it so each server has it’s own “faction”, something that really exists in the game itself! For example, like we have Vigil, Priory and Order of Whispers.
Give each server it’s own faction and let them fight for that faction. This will also influence the faction in PvE. For example, the instance of your faction (and thus server) becomes bigger, has more soldiers etc when your server is winning in WvW.
Maybe also add server-wide rewards for servers that are victorious, like a feast inside the Faction Instance with rewards for those who help etc.
I would say… let my dog choose the match-ups. It’s sure to be more balanced than this kitten. Our server is fighting germans for weeks now, and they have 2x our numbers. Blobber’s Sound, Blobbadon’s Mouth, yeah I think that’d work.
Well done, you played an average of 9 hours a half a day.
Updated. Looks like there is a huge demand for the Combat Templates we know from Guild Wars 1, as well as an urge for more weapons for classes and more weapon skills that can be swapped out on weapons.
Oh jolly. Guildies complaining about the “zillion of germans running around”.
After reading all this I kind of got an idea.
What about making a new expansion, that includes new classes, but each of the new zones uplevels people to 80. This would diminish the leveling grind and give us a chance at totally different content with different classes.
Options for creating extra customization of gameplay/unique class creation:
- Splitting classes into sub-classes, as Orpheal suggests
- Allowing the different classes all weapons (castle, smitty) or just more (fiorrello)
- Making totally new classes (NinjaEd & Nurvus)
- Adding more options for skill progression (Nurvus)
Personally I think each of these ideas has a certain appeal. Whether they make it so the original 8 classes each are able to be customized more, by weapons, by skills, by special attributes or just adding new classes with mechanics that are on par with the exisiting ones, yet innovating… they both work and they could both be implemented.
When I made this thread I was aware that a lot of people did have ideas for this, I just wanted to see what people in general really thought about the class system we have right now. I also hoped to synchronize ideas and I’m hopeful more comments of interest will drop in this thread and others, maybe inspiring ArenaNet to use them.
Updated once again. Please keep the suggestions/votes coming!
sounds like ocd, if u wanna play guardian with 2 pistols play it, if you wanna play the noble guardian play that. the more the better i think it would be great if they did more weapons and more classes.
Only counter against this is that it might dissolve the barriers between the existing classes and we would loose the clear ‘outline’ and personality classes have at the moment.
Well this sort of covers what they’ll try to do:
There’s no achievement treadmill… achievements are gained through playing the game. If you aren’t prepared to get achievements, it means you aren’t prepared to play the game.
I’d like to add, achievement points through dailies and monthlies are indeed a treadmill/grind, and they should make a cap on getting AP from them such as they did with salvaging. That is however the only treadmill you’ll find.
Updated. Thanks to everyone who takes time to post here. I’m sure this will really help the community and the developers!
Hey hey people, 3 wishes, not 4. Anet isn’t your fairy godmother, just a company trying to make money from games.
For those who do pick 4… I’ll take the first 3 and leave the last. Oh and if your suggestion means the same as already existing ones, I’ll count them as a vote for that suggestion.
(edited by Sirendor.1394)
5% of players have more than 5000 I believe, it’s still rather much cause a lot of people get their first legendary when they are around 3000.
The suggestions thread is full of interesting additions to the game. Frequently new threads spawn up about the same topic. Lets make a clear overview for the Anet Developers so they can see what is ‘most wanted’ by the crowd.

Sorry but 15k achievement points is totally ridiculous.
I find that a very interesting suggestion castle. Would you make it a sort of horizontal progression in classes? Sort of a specialisation of one class in a certain attribute (take your druid idea for ranger?).
I hate Lion’s Arch. It’s laggy.
Hello all, I’ve been playing this game since the headstart, and first off want to say I enjoyed (nearly) every moment of it. Though at this moment I feel like I completed a maior part of the game and it feels like something is missing.
I have leveled Guardian, Warrior (two characters), Elementalist, Engineer and Thief to 80 and tried leveling Necro, Ranger and Mesmer, but after a while they just grew boring. The content grows stale if you go over it as many times as I did and the class mechanics aswell. I feel we need new classes with interesting mechanics to choose from, to keep ourselves busy.
What do you think? If your answer is yes, what sort of class?
Makes me think of Elona
I think this new content is also Cantha Oriented. Just speculting, but what if this flying city is made by the Tengu as an attempt to fly back home, and they finally open up the zone that is directly west of Lion’s Arch, where the Canthan descended Tengu are living?
To be honest it looks more Elonan. The Bazaar of the Four winds makes me think about the Kodash Bazaar (http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/The_Kodash_Bazaar). It even looks a little similar to the new content.
What’s worse is that it gets the whole development of the game behind. After a full year of living story content, what does the game have to show for it? Existing and returning players will be put off by the fact that not much has changed and there isn’t much more in the game for them to play around with.
Can I ask you, would you rather see a new expansion that will take a few months to work on and will release a couple of new areas (+dungeons) at once, bring new classes, weapons and races to play with?
From the sound of this though, there will be different skins and other rewards based on each “tier” you’ve reached, so a scenario wherein the previous tiers you’ve already attained only unlock after you reach even higher tiers really seems unlikely.
In short, don’t worry, be happy.
That’s the best answer I got so far. Thanks for a thorough and convincing argument why it shouldn’t be like WvW.
Great, now your stats are +5% better.
The problem i see is that people get a placebo effect that if they are not wearing ascended, they are as good as closed to naked compared to those who have it. 5% of 1,000 is 50 in a game where the max damage is in the range of 7-9k it is really insignificant.
Max damage is 40k+ with Warrior 100-blades, the final hit alone hits for 18k for me, and I’m not even full berserker. If you consider a berserker stat:
An ascended has 20+ power, 10+ precision and some extra crit damage more than an exotic.
12 ascended have 240+ power, 120+ precision and 10%+ crit damageThis is really significant.
Pls screenshot with 40k +.
^ +1
You know we are talking about WvW right?
40k for a full hundred blades cycle, I wrote that clear. Yes, also in WvW, though one player won’t ever stand still and let a warrior go about him, if he would, the warrior will make a neat corpse of him.
That’s what this thread is for… it’s a discussion thread. If the devs can give us answers as the “whats” and “hows”, I’d be pleased to see them. If you have ideas about this or suggestions, or criticisms write them out.
“These rewards will be retroactively awarded for any tiers of account achievement rewards you’ve already earned on your account.”
^Says rather clearly that the rewards for the in my case 4,3k achievement points will only be given after I earn more achievement points. So i’d need to earn another 4,3k points it seems. I’m not a no-life player and won’t get my rewards. Simple as that.
I suggest they give us the rewards because we earned them before! We started playing earlier, we have more points and we earned all of them by hard work. Give us our reward accordingly, without us having to grind the double.
Sorry but if what you says is true Bravo, we will get about 1000 chests in our mailbox. I’ll be sure to accept them, but it seems a bit like a dream scenario no?
I’m a player that currently has 4,3k achievement points and I’ve noticed that the rate in which you gain achievement points slows down a lot from 3k on. Players with 3k+ achievement points have a great deal of the easy achievements completed and are now bound to doing the rather difficult- ones, that cost a lot of effort and money to complete.
Again, as with the WvW ranks they will give us the rewards for these achievements retro-actively… which means players with a high amount of achievement points will have a very hard time actually getting any reward at all, because all the easy achievements have been completed by them.
I hope the developers see the truth in these words and decide it is not for the best they make these rewards retro-actively. My suggestion: make the achievement points a currency instead of ‘gaining stuff while getting them’. Players have played this game from the start and gathered achievement points, it’s only fair that they get their due, without having to do the extra hard achievements.
Thanks for reading and hope you agree.

Can I add my humble thoughts to this?

WvW vendors do sell ascended items but laurels are still needed though.
Which is totally unacceptable. There isn’t a WvW exclusive daily or monthly. You are always required to jump into PvE. Personally I have already given up on WvW after all the months of huge blobs, but I think ascended will mess WvW up even more.
Yes, the stat difference for 12 Ascended vs 12 Exotics is quite significant, but again, this isn’t a problem if you really don’t need Ascended gear to get through the majority of the game’s content.
It is a HUGE issue, for PvP. They shouldn’t using ascended in WvW cause it will mean pay to win.

I always wanted that. The Guild Wars 2 story is totally idyllic and unrealistic. Not everyone is a good guy and the good don’t always win. There could be fights between the heroes and villains. Heroes fighting on the side of the friendly npc’s like we know them atm and villains fighting for the various enemy factions (nightmare court, flame legion, dredge, centaurs, bandits, ogres…)
Thanks to everyone for sharing your thoughts. I hope ArenaNet keeps track of this and reacts accordingly.
Yes.

For guild definitely.
