I’m gona call it now,
one of the major-est heros of the Battle for Lion’s Arch is gona be Canach. We need a Sylvari for the new Destiny’s Edge… and a new name as well!
When we save Scarlet from the evil influence controlling her, she’ll be the sylvari in Destiny’s Edge v2.0.
And the best part is… In EotM you have repair costs if you jump down a cliff.
Another good part is that even if you jump off a cliff, you spawn a loot bag at the feet of all the enemies who tagged you.
I’m female… so you’re not bothering me in the least…
Female gamers are like unicorns. They exist only in dreams and cartoons.

If anet wants more people in WvW they need to make WvW something more people want to play in, simple as that.
It already is. WvW lets you kill ambient creatures, as well as enemy NPCs. If you’re not good at player vs player combat, simply run away from the red name tags.
I wholeheartedly agree that Rank 30 is far too low of a requirement. The Gift of Battle should be as follows:
Rank 50 WvW (since ranks are being combined account wide)
1,000 Badges (since you already get half for free from achievements)
Rank 10 SPvP
10,000 Glory
As of the Feb 18 build, the requirement is being temporarily removed. This is the time for all the people who complained to get their Gift using only Badges. I’m going to push hard for Anet to increase the requirements beyond rank 30, since that’s much too low.
Or Evon wants LA to be destroyed so he can make a fortune selling weapons to heroes..
Sneaksy charr!!!
Remember Gwen!! Remember the broken flute!!! Don’t trust the charr!!!!!!!
Remember Ascalon, the dead and the dishonorable burials!
Better to let Scarlet burn the city than Evon run it like he runs the BLTC!
And remember that a charr saved Lion’s Arch from a corrupt and vile Warband leader.
It’s hard to believe that Kiel is “trying” to boost LA’s air defenses, but the Council won’t let her. This is such a weak excuse to hide her true motivations. She wants LA to be attacked.
Think about it. It was such a coincidence that Kiel was busy with the Thaumanova research, while Scarlet was allowed to just roam untouched in that time. It was such a coincidence that Mai was able to escape the cell that Kiel put her in. And it’s such a coincidence that the Captain’s Council won’t beef up their defenses against an assumed Scarlet invasion, even though Kiel sits on the Council herself.
1 + 1 + 1 = Kiel’s evil
Now let’s look at Evon, or Mr. E for short. He’s so concerned about the health and safety of LA, that he brought out special weapons for heroes to purchase and equip in they fight against the bad guys. With his help, we even have a revamped light armor skin that we can purchase to look good in while we save the world. And let’s not forget about the partnership between the BLTC and battle quaggans, which allows us to kill our enemies with special quaggan summons.
( see: https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/adorable-new-items-in-the-gem-store-2/ )
It all points to one conclusion. Evon cares about LA, while Kiel only cares for whatever evil plans she has in mind. The truth is out there…
When you see My Little Pony-themed weapons as raid loot, that will be the sign.
Indeed. That will be the sign that I’ll start raiding — if ArenaNet also offers armor sets that make players look like cute pastel-colored ponies with brushable manes.
Rainbow Dash™ Multichromatic Pegasus Armor Of Hyperspeed for the win, baby!
I’d pay thousands of Gems for MLP weapons, mini pets, and even mounts.
I heard there was a bug where one of the chest could be looted unlimited amounts of time.
So, now not only do we need Badges of Honor from WvW for a Legendary, but we also have to have a certain WvW rank for it? Why not just add PvP Rank in there too?
Public Service Announcement:
You can obtain Badges of Honor from Achievement Chests.
You can gain ranks from Laurels. You do not need to enter WvW, except for a brief moment to buy your Gift of Battle.
I don’t agree with getting ranks using Laurels. We need for force these players to touch every aspect of the game before being able to craft a Legendary.
Here are my ideas:
1) Require SPvP rank 10
2) Require WvW rank 50
3) Keep other Legendary mat requirement (250 of each T6, 77 Clovers, etc.) the same.
4) Keep Icy Runestone requirement
5) Keep Precursor requirement
6) Remove Legendary Weapons from the TP
Warrs need a speed nerf. They’re the strongest, and most mobile class in the game. People with heavy armor should move the slowest. So be lucky they’re only touching your signet.
As I said before, crafting a Legendary was initially supposed to show that you had mastery, or at least some participation, in all aspects of the game. This requirement is long overdue.
If a player hates WvW, I feel sorry for them, because they won’t be making a Legendary Weapon, and possibly Armor in the future. But at the same time, those who do participate and help their servers in WvW will be much deserving of their crafted Legendaries.
Support Arenanet - Little Problem with refund
in Account & Technical Support
Posted by: Smooth Penguin.5294
The Support Team needs to fix this ASAP, or you’ll be seeing players send multiple tickets in to try and game the system.
Just spend a few days learning to WvW, and you’ll be fine. This requirement for the Gift should have been in the game since launch.
There are people in this game who have and im quoting here “more gold than i can store in a single account” who on a daily basis purchase hundreds of thousands of items in order to resell them at a higher price, this creates inflation and benefits no one but the super rich, what im suggesting is a limit to the amount of items that can be purchased in a day wich will reset every 24 hours, because lets face it if this keeps going on our entire economy will collapse.
Just wondering, are you upset that a man like Steve Jobs can create a billion dollar company, selling high quality products with an equally high price markup? I ask this because people like him help the economy, not collapse it.
TP players are the same thing. Players who farm items to sell are like our employees. We pay them for the item farmed, and in turn resell for a profit to another player who wants the item.
Free markets are beautiful.
So if an account is hacked, instead of transferring the funds to another account via mail or bank, you want to make it easy for them to just transfer the whole character full of stuff?
When you buy an item from the Gem Store, you click once to select, and must click again to confirm. If you’re not paying attention, it’s your fault for doing a miss click.
There is no reason to have the hassles of additional confirmations to assist 0.001% of the player base. What you should do is carefully read what you’re buying, and slowly click to be sure you don’t make a mistake. If you do make a mistake, open up a support ticket, and ask for a refund. If Anet approves the refund, great. If they don’t, then learn from your mistakes.
Smooth,
Do you use the wiki??
If we haven’t heard an answer in a few days we could set up a research page on the wiki. I have the Molten Alliance Mining Pick. We could start recording our results on a private page. you with the clockwork and me with the molten one. If we both dont use guildboosts and record for say 5 days we should have consisting data on the subject.I can use some motivation to start mining all orichalcum notes again on a daily basis
Problem is, I didn’t buy the Watchwork pick. Don’t need to, since I got the Molten one. I’m just hearing reports from people who were willing to buy the new pick, and their mining stories. So far, it’s been all “no bonus ore” from their mining attempts, which ties into the theory that the sprockets replace the extra source ore. I’d prefer an official response, and am hopeful we’ll get one.
Edit – One side note. The “P2W” complainers wouldn’t believe in my research results, since I’m a big GW fanboi. They’d probably think I’m slightly biased.
Look at it this way – crafting a Legendary is now requiring more mastery (or at least participation) in all aspects of the game. I wouldn’t be surprised if they require at least rank 10 in SPvP too.
With all due respect mate, the AP armor set could be seen as a long term, end game goal. Much like people who got their 50/50 HoM achievement, this goal will take time. There’s no way to quickly farm AP since they nerfed the salvage achievement with a cap. So if you see someone with the full set in the future, you know they earned it.
Yes new players are left behind, since you can’t get AP from old events and stories. Just as they don’t have as much money as us from playing over the past year+. Same goes with SPvP or WvW ranks. Anyone new has to learn to crawl before they can run with the big dogs.
Yeah, I agree that newer players have a lot of work to catch up, and that’s okay. I don’t think having the boots at 12k belittles the ‘earning’ that was done to get that AP. You still had to earn that, and 12k is no walk in the park. That said, 20k AP when there is scarcely 4k AP available from permanent achievements (not counting LS, which gets lumped into permanent achievements but aren’t really permanent) feels more like a grind than earning it. Doing all dailies every day doesn’t take real skill, it just takes time. If there were way more permanent AP available for skillful pursuits, I’d take no issue with this, but there isn’t.
My concern is also that the progression doesn’t make sense and creates unnecessary barriers. If you want the “Radiant set” you have 3k for gloves, 6k for shoulders, 9k for helmet, and then… 21k for boots? Being forced to take Hellfire stuff, which you may not want, before you can get your Radiant boots is pretty rough. I definitely think these things should be earned through rigorous AP acquisition, but I think a proper reward scheme wouldn’t force players to take both sets of gloves/shoulders/helmets before they get to their first access to boots. You know what I mean? I’m trying to approach this more from a ‘proper design’ standpoint here.
I mean, I’ll get these boots eventually. It doesn’t really bother me personally, I just don’t think the currently implemented design is fair or logical for others who really want them. It’s one thing to have rewards for players who put in a lot of time, but those rewards still have to make sense (in my opinion). I mean, consider the extreme example where almost the entire Radiant set can be acquired by 15k, but then the helmet is only first available at 100k AP. That would raise some red flags for you, right?
The way I see it, 3 or 4 years after this game was released, 20k AP won’t seem like much. I’m looking at this from the prospective of really long term, over the life span of the game itself. Kinda like GW1 HoH ranks, where only a handful of players ever reached Rank 15 (Dragon emote). The full set of AP armor could be the status symbol of GW2. (*yes I know one requires more skill than time invested)
So far, the Devs have left us players to research this. I’ve mailed Chris Whiteside, asking that he perhaps step in and clear this confusion, but I didn’t get a response.
Unofficial research results are pointing to the mechanics being “replaced”. The bonus chance of ore from the node type is replaced by sprockets.
If anything, this controversy can be a lesson for the designers. If there’s a company policy in place that doesn’t allow Devs to discuss mechanics, said mechanics placed in descriptions of items should be less ambiguous. Everyone saw the new Watchwork pick as “new mechanics”, with the bonus chance of giving specific items. This caused rage in the population, since it “appeared” to give an advantage over other similar Gem Shop items. If the mechanics existed, and was just altered, a better description would have been: 20% bonus chance at additional ore mined is replaced with a chance for sprockets.
Please read the forums for answers:
Server population isn’t based on who WvWs or not. It’s how many accounts are housed there. So if you’re suffering from low numbers in WvW, that means everyone else is PvEing. I suggest you make some friends, and try to recruit more PvE players to do WvW.
When probably ANET would say something about balance patch? Like full preview.
You mean like what’s in the Balance forums?
So I will say it again. Does it offer an advantage unavailable in the game? Yes. Is it only obtainable via spending gems, which have a real value? Yes. It doesn’t matter how great that advantage is, or how those gems were purchased. The fact is that you can now spend real money (or an equivalent thereof) to get ingame rewards that those unwilling to make this purchase cannot get. That is Pay to Win. If you have an alternate definition, I would like to hear it.
Unfortunately you’re wrong mate. You’re probably not familiar with what the term “Pay 2 Win” means. I told other players that I’ll make some time to help you understand what it means, and how everyone is using that term incorrectly.
Back to the item in question. If the same mechanic is available for both merchant bought and Gem Store bought item, there is no advantage. Right now, the current theory is that the 20% chance for sprockets replaced the X% chance for bonus ore. If I have an Orichalcum pick or Molten pick, and it gives me that X% chance at bonus ore of the same node type, that’s basically the same as the described 20% bonus chance to get sprockets.
The real problem here is that Anet put that bonus sprocket mechanic into writing. I believe that if they wanted to do this right, they should have worded it “20% chance of bonus ore from pick is replaced by sprockets”. Something along those lines would have been much better for all players. That way, it’s more transparent as to how the mechanics worked, thus letting us decide if that new mechanic was worth spending our Gems on.
I think a better solution to this would have been to include the boots at 12k and then to give them automatically to players past that point. Even if it means the people past it get extra stuff, it would at least have these at a reasonable point for newer players. As it stands, there simply aren’t enough permanent achievements to justify a cost of 21k for something like a pair of boots. It really isn’t about entitlement, it’s about consistency and the realism of reward schemes versus time investment.
I say all of this as someone close to my 15k chest.
With all due respect mate, the AP armor set could be seen as a long term, end game goal. Much like people who got their 50/50 HoM achievement, this goal will take time. Why would I reroll a character I already have at 80 that is fully geared?
Sorry mate. Anet made a big mistake, and listened to us who were angered by our exclusive armor being given to other races. We’re very thankful that Anet delivered on their promise to undo the mistake, and make an even better Flame armor set.
Make a new female human character, level to 80, and buy the cultural armor. Any petition to try and bring back a mistake, is like screaming in a sound proof room.
I hope they understand which I don’t think they do if you put the carrot to far out on the stick people will lose interest.
I am not even sure what there thinking with garbage yes garbage like this. It’s like the Halloween event where it required like 40k candy corn to get a mini or something. The numbers where just ridiculous unless you bought the material to get it.
Really if you sit down and think about it the game really is P2W… I like to see if there are even 100 people in the entire game who have literately farmed every single piece of there legendary. Buying nothing but the Icy Runestones and Recipes with gold. I bet there isn’t even 10.
I hope they understand by making the carrot so far out of reach they bring down the value of the game tremendously.
I didn’t think the “P2W” conspiracy theorists could possibly bring that argument into this thread. I guess I was wrong.
/clears throat
Unfortunately, you have no idea what Pay 2 Win means. You’re taking a term that has a perceived negative aspect to it, and have incorrectly attributed it to this game because you’re unhappy about something. But don’t worry, maybe around this weekend I’ll be making a post to educate the masses on what P2W really is. That’ll help you understand that throwing around that term is as silly as fishing with your big toe as bait.
no thanks, they already have the precedent set. They will eventually start selling those items that will get you to admit that this is P2W. You can only deny truth for so long.
Unfortunately you don’t understand what Pay 2 Win means. Give me time, and I’ll help explain it to you. Realize that any ideas of what “P2W” means to you, is inherently wrong. I’ll do my best to teach you, but you need to give me time so I can make a thread.
You are wrong. It was not Pay to Win until now, but with this item it is.
The game was sold on the promise that the Gem Store would not sell anything that gave an advantage unavailable in the game, only convenience or aesthetics. That promise was held until the introduction of this pick.
Unfortunately you’re wrong here. The current Watchwork pick has been shown to give no advantage in the game. Research by players indicate that the +20% bonus chance to get sprockets replaced the ability to get bonus ore from nodes you mine.
Example: I mine an Orichalcum node. With any other pick (merchant or Molten), I get a chance at bonus Orichalcum ores. With the Watchwork pick, the bonus Ori are replaced by sprockets.
So in essence, the Watchwork pick is worse off, since the Orichalcum ore is far more valuable than sprockets.
tl;dr – Nothing in GW2 at the moment is P2W.
I only got to 14k AP recently, working towards 15k. I’m not as hardcore as other players, so 20k+ isn’t so unimaginable. All the people who complain are basically falling into the “Entitlement” trap. They want things given to them as quickly and as easy as possible.
Here’s how you get the old skin in a few simple steps.
Step 1: Make a female human
Step 2: Level to 80
Step 3: Buy Tier 3 Cultural armor
Infinite Gathering Tools: Some Info for you

This thread was meant to inform players about the refund policy for duplicate infinite gathering tools, from when they changed it from Soul Bound to Account Bound.
There is no refund policy for Gem Store items that people had a “change of heart” on. The Guild Wars 2 Support Team have also said that, and I quote: “Purchases from the Gem Store are seldom refundable”. Bottom line, there’s no bug or issues with the previous and/or current tools, so there’s no reason for any refunds. If they grant the players’ request, that’s great. But as of now, I have not heard of a single person getting a refund due to their not liking a tool anymore.
Wait, does dragging and dropping on the border equal destroying an item? If so, sorry, but Anet doesn’t undo player mistakes.
Please read the other thread before making new ones.

Gaile needs to merge this now…
I really don’t think it’s permanent given the fact that Kasmeer and Delaqua are both very determined to stop her plans for the past 4 game updates. This is probably a sum up for a big event leading to the once in for all finale
Scarlet x Jory x Kasmeer triangle. The new Living Story would be epic beyond words.
I don’t play other mmorpgs, I play SimCity, dota2 and I used to play sc2 until it died.
The mechanics of Sim City and Guild Wars 2 are vastly different. I think I found your disconnect. When learning a new game with new mechanics, I can understand why some people have a hard time.
no thanks, they already have the precedent set. They will eventually start selling those items that will get you to admit that this is P2W. You can only deny truth for so long.

Back then, why did you get a skin that you didn’t want?
So they add content based on the guys that log in and spend 4 hours a day to do all the achievements of the game!
If you want that armor piece, then work hard to get it. Players aren’t Entitled to getting everything they want. Sometimes you have to EARN it.
GW2 has always been P2W since it launched. Anyone who says different is lying to you or themselves. The ability to buy BiS gear with real money is P2W. Doesn’t matter if its armor, weapons, accessories, tools, or whatever else you can think of, BiS is Bis. If you can buy BiS with real money that is PAY TO WIN. We have been able to buy best in slot armor and weapons since launch with real money. Only recently with ascended armor and weapons does the P2W player have to actually play to get BiS (dragonite/bloodstone/Emp) but they can still buy legendary weapons. So stop saying this game isn’t P2W. Someone with large amounts of disposable income has a huge advantage over anyone else in this game.
Now that that has been said, up until recently it really wasn’t a problem because if you worked hard you could still get everything with a reasonable amount of grind. Key word there is reasonable. GW2 has recently made some big changes that push more in direction of use the cash store over just play the game because they have made the grind for some things unreasonable and started selling items with bonuses that can not be had anywhere else but from the store.
This is all bad form and many people like myself have stopped playing because of it. I still check the forums everyday hoping that I will see something to give me hope for this game but what do I see instead a clockwork pick with an ability that can not be had anywhere else in the game. And then I think what will the next BiS item be in the cash store and what will be the one after that and after that.
Unfortunately, you don’t understand what a Pay 2 Win game is, thus your fixation on calling GW2 such. When I have time, I’ll create a thread that will help to educate everyone on what exactly constitutes as a “P2W” game.
tl;dr – GW2 is not a P2W game
Why not? There are people close to 21k Achievement Points already. If you want them, work hard to get those AP each day and earn them.
I’ll just put this here: It takes skill to play as a Thief, and it takes skill to kill one.
Once your game play skills improve, you’ll be better off.
Apparently finishing level 10 Personal Story gives you a BLTC Key, so I finished lvl 10 PS with 5 of my characters and got 5 keys.
I opened all of them and got 0 tickets and some useless boosters.
How am I supposed to get one of these weapons with this insane RNG?
Black Lion Keys were on sale for 20% off. Whenever you see these sales, buy a couple of stacks, and you should be good to go.
Danicia, please tell the Devs that the weapons need moar hearts. My manly, bulky, mustached norn isn’t complete unless he’s surrounded by hearts. Princess Wand was a start. Heart weapons are a nice addition. Heart ARMOR is next!!!
Done.
Confirmed – MOAR HEARTS!!!

Danicia, please tell the Devs that the weapons need moar hearts. My manly, bulky, mustached norn isn’t complete unless he’s surrounded by hearts. Princess Wand was a start. Heart weapons are a nice addition. Heart ARMOR is next!!!
Wanze, I think you’re making a mistake. There’s only a 20% chance to get sprockets with each use. It’s not guaranteed that you’ll get something each time. That’s how RNG works.
Support site is down so cannot submit a ticket.
Any word on whether we will be able to get gems back for the set we bought + the gems spent on makeover kits for characters? I guess that might be asking for too much, but honestly I wouldn’t have bought the set or the kit without the old model.
sigh very sad. RIP Flamekissed.
You can ask for a refund if you don’t like the new Flamekissed skin, but no such luck with any Makeover kits.
But most of us are glad they changed the look. Human T3 Cultural needs to be exclusive. The Devs realized the mistake, and made a wonderful change. Much love and credit to them for the efforts to correct that mistake.
Submit a ticket. People have said they’re getting their Gems refunded already.
