Any update on letting us replay Season 1?

Would love this as well, but I do see them having to basically rebuild a ton of it just to work as personal stories since most of it was open world stuff.

Since my family just joined GW2, I’ve wanted them to check out the whole Scarlet story, but sadly they can only see LW Season 2. So they have no idea what happened before, unless they go read about it.

So yeah, would definitely love to see LW Season 1 show up in our story journal or gem store (for those that didn’t get to play it).

The world is changing, and Anet isn’t living in the stone age like most other companies. They embrace the new world and welcome it.

I might butt heads and not get along with Anet much if at all, but I respect what they are doing. They keep up with the times and welcome all diversity.

Besides, we’ve had a male on male relationship already in game (if you want to call it that with the Sylvari’s), we already have two main stars that are in a lesbian relationship and have had a whole living story, and second living story with them in it, with all kinds of flirty banter and actual kissing between them, and we have a transgender (don’t hurt me if I got that wrong) NPC now that you can talk to as well. And now a picture of two male Nords getting married is too much?…….

2 GB ram is adequate ? You will either crash all day because OOM or your system
will swap on your harddrive like crazy and you will end at 1 frame every 5 seconds.

Windows® Minimum System Requirements

Windows® XP Service Pack 2 or better
Intel® Core 2 Duo 2.0 GHz, Core i3 OR AMD Athlon 64 X2, or better
2 GB RAM
NVIDIA® GeForce® 7800, ATI X1800, Intel HD 3000, or better (256 MB of video RAM and shader model 3.0 or better)
25 GB available HDD space
Broadband Internet connection
Keyboard and mouse

According to Anet, 2GB of RAM is adequate enough to run GW2 on minimum settings.

New trait system Good or bad?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

SpyderArachnid.5619

Eh, I’m 50/50 on it.

I’ve been gone from GW2 for awhile now, and just came back yesterday. On all my 80s, it wasn’t so bad cause I have everything unlocked and I can change my specializations on the fly.

But when I checked my few low levels, I was not happy. They are stuck with stuff they never used in the first place. Like my Warrior. Level 22, has ALWAYS used a Greatsword. They never used any other weapon, and I even set up her build to use the Greatsword. I come back to find out, they set her all to Defense. Sword and Shield. I have never used that EVER, and now she is stuck with the Defense specialization and all her traits are for defense. For 22 levels I have used nothing but Greatsword, so why the heck is she Defense now? And I can’t even change it either.

So while I don’t mind it on my 80’s, I hate what it did to my lower level characters. It completely ruined them.

Yeah that’s what they told them to do as well. So basically they all have to make brand new email accounts that they’ll never use, just so they can register GW2. Which doesn’t make any sense to me.

And then they have to contact CS again, just to have those new accounts, merged into their old accounts so they can keep using their old (current) account. Which is a ton of unnecessary work to go through when they can just add the key to their current account without all the hassle of having to make all new email accounts just to make new accounts, just to end up merging them into the old account!

I mean, what is the point of the “Add A Code” button then if it is impossible to add a code and instead you have to create a new account completely just to register it? Is there seriously no way whatsoever that Anet can add a code to an already existing account, that they have to go through this lengthy process of making new accounts just to merge it with their old one? Is that the only option? Then why does the site say to log into an existing account and add the code, when we can’t do that?

It is all seriously a frustrating, confusing, contradicting, mess. And to top it off, even when they finally do get this sorted out and start playing (that is if they don’t get a refund first which is highly likely), they can’t even join my world because it is full and won’t let them join it.

register.guildwars2.com site down/won't load

in Bugs: Game, Forum, Website

Posted by: SpyderArachnid.5619

SpyderArachnid.5619

Simply put, the site won’t load.

My family just bought GW2 and now they can’t register their game because the site won’t load. All of them in the same situation. They log into their GW account, click add a code, enter the serial number, and it just sits there loading. It does nothing at all, but try to load. Stuck in a loop.

They bought the game early this morning, and have been trying all day to get their games registered but the site just won’t work. Their patience is running out and they want refunds already. They hate online purchases, and this is not making their experience any better. It was hard enough trying to get them to try GW2, and now this happens and they are not happy.

So please, can you fix your site so they can finally register their games? Would be greatly appreciated.

Well one uses Chrome, one uses Firefox, and the other is still stuck on Internet Explorer (they refuse to get a new browser…). So yeah, we’ve tried different browsers lol.

And honestly, posting a ticket number won’t really help much. It’s a simple issue of “hey, your site doesn’t work”. Whether they respond to the ticket or not, it is up to them to fix their website. This isn’t a purchase problem or an account problem. It’s their website that just won’t load.

But thanks again for a response. At least you’re keeping up with what is going on. Wish Anet would do the same.

Long time WoW player needs help.

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

SpyderArachnid.5619

Was actually in your shoes when I first came to GW2 back in beta. Was a huge WoW player (still jump on it occasionally), and was trying to transition to GW2 from that.

Easy path? Warrior is easy sure, so is Ranger. Ranger plays almost like the Hunter, without all the pet taunts (at least until higher levels) and such. But otherwise, it’s very comfortable and easy to work with to get a first hand experience. If you want to be in the front lines though, Warrior is the way to go. Simple hack and slash game play.

Stay away from Engineers and Mesmers mostly though, till you got a bit more experience. They seem to be the most complex class to do well with. Elementalist was actually easy for me as well, as it just felt like a typical glass cannon spell caster. Necromancers will fill your Warlock hole if you were a fan of Demonology, as they can summon all kinds of minions. You’ll actually find them more fun than Warlocks. I’m personally a Well/condition spreader type.

One thing I will mention, throw mostly everything you know of WoW type game play out the window. When it comes to “questing”, you won’t be doing anything like what you did in WoW. There is no quest hubs with tons of quests to pick up. Everything is dynamic events with little “helping hand” type quests here and there.

It’s going to feel weird, yeah. But give it time. It takes some getting used to. You’re gonna want to quit cause it takes you from your comfort zone pretty quick, but don’t. Stick with it, and it will grow on you. Just have an open mind is all.

Well if you just want to “play” the game, you need a new video card more than anything else. For the absolute minimum requirements, your CPU and RAM is adequate. But your video card is no where near the minimum requirements.

So if you’re only going for one major upgrade, get a video card. That will help the most.

Hoping this thread gets noticed at least, so they can fix the website. Don’t really need a response here, just want the site fixed so they can finally register their serial codes. Really appreciate what you’re trying to do Inculpatus Cedo, but none of that relates to the issue at hand.

Registering is not the problem. The problem is the site won’t load. When you click Add a Code in your account and submit your Serial Code, it won’t load. It just sits there with a loading icon and won’t load anything at all. Meaning, it won’t add the code to your account cause the page won’t load.

We’ve been trying this for several hours now, and still the same thing. The page won’t load so you can add your serial code to your account.

Either the site is down, or it just doesn’t work. Which is not a good thing, cause it took forever to convince my family to finally try GW2, and the day they decide to try it, they can’t even register their serial codes cause the site won’t work.

So while I appreciate what you’re trying to do, it doesn’t really relate to the issue. But thanks for at least responding.

Having this same issue with my father’s, mother’s, and brother’s accounts. They all picked up GW2 today, and none of them can register their keys.

They already have GW1 accounts, and when they log in to their account they go to the add code (and enter the serial code they were given), yet it just sits there spinning and won’t load or add anything.

They are getting really frustrated and thinking of getting a refund now if they can’t get this solved. Any help would be appreciated.

Don’t forget that you can exchange gems and gold at our currency exchange on the second tab of the Black Lion Trading Company! Currently, you can get 10 gold for about 145 gems and 50 gold for about 720 gems!

Which explains why it always gets harder and harder to make gold every update, cause they would rather us buy gold than actually earn it in game.

How modifiable is Guild Wars 2?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: SpyderArachnid.5619

SpyderArachnid.5619

The only stuff you can modify with GW2 at the moment, is the soundtrack and textures.

Soundtrack is already covered in several posts here already, but for texture modding, you can use UMod. It works just like TexMod did for GW1, though a bit more advanced.

Only downside to it at the moment, is the newest version, while it works, it lags up your game really bad. But the old version causes no lag, but for some reason applies your custom texture to everything, not just your character.

So it’s a nice thing to use if you want to do some simple texture editing for screenshots, but not something you would play with all the time as it causes your fps to drop severely.

I just don’t understand why I am waiting this long for this. People are getting their tickets taken care of in hours to a day, while I am waiting almost a week for mine. All of the information is there, I don’t see why it is taking this long. It feels like you guys are just delaying it on purpose.

It is rather bad to be seeing them pushing the Gem Store now, especially when they haven’t responded to anything since the release of this feature patch. It’s been a week and we haven’t received a peep from Anet about this. They just keep deleting threads and merging posts and then ignoring everyone.

And especially with all the people still waiting after a week for refunds on Gem Store items? They really think we want to buy more stuff from the Gem Store after what they just did with this feature patch? It’s good to see that our money is funding the Gem Store, and not actual in game content….

Worth Coming Back To?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: SpyderArachnid.5619

SpyderArachnid.5619

Hi all, I played Guild Wars 2 when it first came out for a little while. (Level 59 Guardian). I was considering playing again, but I would like to know a few things.

Is the player base high or am I going to see a lot of dead areas and times?

Has the game turned into a pay-to-win game?

Are there good and constant content updates?

If any of you guys could give me some tips and ideas knowing what I would be coming back to, it would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.

You’re going to get a lot of mixed reviews coming to the forums, mostly negative ones trying to get you not to play the game. But I’ll do what I can to help, even though I’m not a fan of GW2 at the moment.

Playerbase is decent. With the new megaserver feature in the new update though, you should see a lot more players now. Areas shouldn’t be as dead as they used to. But it won’t always be a constant thing, but that’s usual for any MMO. There is just some areas players don’t go to. But player population overall is decent, it’s not in the millions like WoW is, but it’s still a nice size to do things.

Game never was, and as far as I know, never will be P2W. That doesn’t mean that Anet tries to push the bounds every now and then. But there is nothing in the gem store that will give you an advantage over other players (though the Watchwork Pick is still in question as Anet ignores that issue). Everything is mostly convenience and cosmetic.

Right now the game is in a halt. No new content as of yet, just a QoL feature pack that came out last week. They just finished season one of the Living Story though. Though it was all temporary content, so you can’t even go back to see any of it. So logging in now, it will seem like nothing new has been introduced since launch, except for a few random areas that you have no idea why they are there now.

No idea when the new season starts, so can’t tell you what it will entail or if it will be more permanent content, instead of all the temporary content they keep releasing.

But all in all, best to just log in and check for yourself. Not sure when you quit exactly, but if it was before the Living Story business, then everything will seem pretty much the same as when you left. With a few QoL features added/fixed.

That’s exactly how to get your ticket delayed/ignored. Insulting them and being rude won’t get you the assistance you want.

OT: Been almost a week now waiting on my ticket. And like the above person said, there is people who made tickets after us and yet they got helped within a few hours to a day. And here we are, waiting almost a week to get a response.

This is the longest I’ve had to wait for any support from any game. And it just makes it worse when other people who have been waiting for a few hours are getting help before those who have been waiting for almost a week. There is nothing complex or mind boggling about my ticket. It’s a simple refund for items that we were told they would refund. So why am I waiting a week for a response?

I’ve never been treated this poorly as a customer in anything, like I have been with Anet.

No response after 3 days for gem refund

in Account & Technical Support

Posted by: SpyderArachnid.5619

SpyderArachnid.5619

Hmm fair enough. It just seemed weird that his was refunded yesterday and mine has had no response since and the tickets were submitted barely 5 minutes apart. I would have thought even if there were more of the same type of ticket in the list that mine would have been in the bunch his was in to be resolved.

Your delay I can understand to an extent, because they requested a list of items, but I provided a list of mine after receiving all my tonics and deciding whether or not I wanted them or to sell them on the TP or to get a refund.

Yeah I don’t get how their support works. You think it would be first come first serve, but it’s not. Otherwise, we wouldn’t be waiting this long while other people are getting their tickets serviced after only a few hours.

As for my delay, I gave them that list over a day ago. I was already waiting almost 3 days before they even asked for a list, but I had put the total amount of gems that needed refunding. The support form didn’t say anything about making a list of all my items, just the amount of gems. So I figured they already had that information and didn’t need it.

Then I assumed since they responded, that my ticket was a priority since they were waiting for my response. But obviously, I was wrong there as well. Cause I responded fast, and that was yesterday morning. Guess whenever I respond, it throws my ticket at the back of the queue or something.

So no idea how their ticket system works. All I know, is that it’s not first come first serve. It’s just random. They help who they want to help, regardless of how soon you made your ticket.

You just gotta wait…..

I put my ticket in a minute after we were told to start putting in our tickets (few hours before the patch), and I’m still waiting. Almost on 4 days now, and since the weekend is here, don’t expect them to reply over the weekend either. So you’ll be waiting till at least Monday like the rest of us.

I got that same response, a usual auto response. Then they responded to me yesterday and told me to make a list of all the items I want refunded, and then told me that a refund is not guaranteed. Which is a lie, as Michael Henninger already stated that they will give us refunds for tonics and outfits and duplicates.

So I responded about 15 minutes after they sent me that message yesterday, and they still haven’t responded back. It seems like they are purposely delaying my ticket just for the heck of it.

Now I’m going to have to wait till Monday….. which is just.. absurd. Been seeing people who submitted their ticket yesterday and got it taken care of within a few hours. So why are those of us who submitted them when we were first told to, still waiting 4+ days for a response?

Hello, everyone! We wanted to take a minute to let you know about a couple of item types that we’ll be doing refunds for after the feature pack is live. We will be granting refunds for the following items:

Gem refunds for items you are unhappy with due to changes in the way the item functions:

• Tonics that used to be Town Clothes that were purchased in the Gem Store
• Outfits that used to be Town Clothes that were purchased in the Gem Store

Duplicate Gem Store Purchase Refunds:

• Duplicates skins that were purchased in the Gem Store
• Duplicates of Tonics/Outfits that were purchased from the Gem Store

Bolded the important parts. They say they WILL give you a refund for outfits. Send them that link in response and that quote and show them that Anet has already stated that we WILL get refunds for them, not that we might.

I submitted my ticket around 11AM yesterday (when they told us to start submitting tickets). Their response was “Someone will be in contact with you as soon as possible.”…..

Guess we have different definitions of “soon”. I hear people getting their tickets done in an hour or two, sometimes a bit longer, but almost two days and no response yet? Is it seriously this busy that I have to wait two days (and counting) to get a refund?

All the information is there. Gem amount, credit card, brief description, everything. There is nothing more they need. Yet they took the time to tell me someone will be with me as soon as possible, yet I have been waiting for almost two days and continue to wait.

If there is seriously this many people getting refunds that it is causing this long of a delay, then it seems that obviously this change was a bad thing.

Game Updates: Traits

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: SpyderArachnid.5619

SpyderArachnid.5619

This system is similar to the system in GW1. I would think the GW1 fans would appreciate it, I guess not.

No it’s not.

In GW1, you hunted a boss for an elite skill. You had henchmen and heroes and could solo the bosses no problems. And you could go get it whenever you wanted. The boss was always there. No waiting for other players, no fail timer to have to beat, you could do it when you wanted at your own pace.

In GW2, you have to do the massive scale world events to get a trait. Not a skill, a trait. Grenth? Karka Queen? Yeah. You have to rely on other players to not mess things up just so YOU can get a new trait. And it’s all on timers as well. So you can’t do it whenever you want, you have to deal with boss timers before you can even get a chance to get your new trait.

And over time, after players have got the trait, and no one is doing those events anymore, good luck getting your trait with no one to help.

So yeah. It’s nothing like it was in GW1.

Think that’s bad? Town Clothing was free to change before, now it costs a charge to use.

Oh and let’s not forget PvP gear. It was free to swap as well. Now you have to pay for that too. And now leveling characters have to pay three times what they paid before to change their gear.

Great system.

Game Updates: Wardrobe, Transmutation, Outfits

At least you guys have your town cloths. My witch outfit, horns, toys etc. all still remain hidden on my toons – I know from the hats for sure, because when hovering over my quaggan hat, that is in my inventory, I can see them as “currently equipped”.
I can, however, not equip the quaggan hat. Rightclicking it only gives me the option to destroy it & it is not a selectable skin in my wardrobe. My outfit isn’nt in the bank or any other wardrobe, either (any towncloth, really). The Black Lion Weapon Specialist doesn’t have any options for me, other than ticket skins, the link to the BLK and smalltalk. x3

You need to talk to a Black Lion Armorsmith, not Weapon Specialist. They are located around the same area. They will unlock all your town clothing (gotta do this for every character you have that is wearing town clothing).

-Wardrobe System
-Trait System
-Lack of information in game about all these changes
-Making my main useless (Mesmer)
-Megaserver
-Anet’s lack of understanding and responses to anyone

A lot of hype behind this patch and how great it would be, but it is just mostly disappointment.

If you’re talking about stuff that used to be town clothing, you have to go talk to a Black Lion Armor Merchant to have it unlocked.

If you’re talking about PvP stuff, you have to go to the Heart of the Mists to get it unlocked.

All in all, this whole system is really confusing for those that don’t frequent the forums all the time. Feel bad for those people in game who have no idea what to do since there is no in game information on this.

I don’t know if it is a bug, but i didn’t get any trasmutation charges for my pvp rank. Also all my pvp skins didn’t get activated in the wardrobe. Or is there something I need to do to get them activated?

You have to go to the Heart of the Mists to get your PvP stuff to activate.

my broom is gone, it’s not in my inventory, bank or wardrobe Worse part is, it was a gift from a guildy.
Anyone know where to find it? Was it deleted from the game? or converted into a tonic (which i didn’t get)?

You have to go talk to a Black Lion Armor Merchant and register all your town clothing (on every single character you have), in order for them to show up again.

Stop complaining please!

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

SpyderArachnid.5619

Forums are a place for feedback. If no one complained, then Anet wouldn’t know what players wanted out of their game.

Most of these main threads are even created by Anet themselves to get feedback about the new features. They want to hear the complaints and concerns so they can “listen to our feedback”.

So telling people to stop “crying/complaining” completely goes against the whole purpose of these threads. If you don’t like it, go somewhere else. Your post contributes nothing to the feedback. Complaining about complainers is not very constructive and doesn’t provide any useful feedback for Anet.

Game Updates: Traits

’Nother nail in the coffin it seems. Can you buy skill points in the gem shop yet?

Knowing Anet, they will use this to their advantage to sell Skill Unlock Packs in the Gem Store…..

On topic, I really dislike this change. I enjoyed using traits wherever I wanted them, now I am restricted to only a few for each tier? So much for diversity in builds. You’re pushing us to cookie cutter builds with this change.

And the whole wait it takes to get trait points while leveling is ridiculous. This really puts a crawl into leveling for new players and old players. It was nice getting traits every level. You felt like you were progressing and all that leveling was worth reaching the next level for that next trait point. Now it’s grind and grind and grind for 30 levels just to get one trait point. Then grind and grind and grind some more just for one trait point. Little reward for a lot of effort.

All in all, it is more restrictive and forces cookie cutter builds and ruins leveling progression. I’m finding it hard to be happy about this patch. Between this and the Wardrobe system, I am just highly disappointed.

Well with the removal of Town Clothing, they probably will never introduce Swimsuits or the School Outfit.

Seeing as if they do release them now, they will be armor skins since we no longer have Town Clothing. And they don’t want people running around in Swimsuits or School Outfits cause it might “break immersion” (you know, the immersion that Anet already broke?)…

So expect them never.

this is an example of someone who doesn’t know anything. if this person did, he would havr realize that all the crap he just said is the exact opposite of what anet said a few weeks ago.

so ignore this guy.

It’s obvious you have no idea what the Wardrobe system even is.

Anet stated that there will be no more Town Clothing. It is all being converted to Armor Skins, Outfits, and Tonics. Outfits are costumes you wear over your armor, and tonics are well…. tonics like they are now in game.

If they introduce Swimsuits, they will either become armor skins, outfits, or tonics. There is no more town clothing when the new patch hits today.

And seeing as Anet wouldn’t want people running into battle in swimwear or a school outfit, the chance of them releasing them now will never happen. If we still had the Town Clothing system, then sure, I could see it. But now that it is removed, don’t count on it.

Think before you speak next time.

You really should follow your own advice. The changes were design to let costumes be more useful. there is laterally no reason why the school armor will not appear on the cash shop. The new system allows them to do that.

To expand more on what I mean by better support, It helps if you think of town clothes as a 4th weight class of armor. Clothing was meant to offer visual options that break the class roles, however we were never completely happy with the way it was isolated from the rest of the game and still felt largely the same. Many pieces could have easily been mistaken for light or medium armor. In many ways it was more akin to building an alt character because town-clothes and armor were so separated. Additionally, every time we added something to town-clothes, it didn’t really help someone building their light, medium, or heavy look. And there was no way to add combat gear fairly without creating 3 versions on the back end (light, medium, and heavy). As a customization platform and sustainable expansion design it left a lot to be desired.

You can read the devs comments for more information, now thank you very much for playing. It must suck being so arrogantly wrong.

You really don’t get it do you? I’ll forgive your ignorance.

The point is, they would highly clash with the game. Do you really think Anet wants people in dungeons or WvW in Swimsuits? It doesn’t matter that they can be outfits or tonics. It is the fact that they would clash way too much.

No one wants to run a dungeon with a Warrior in a bikini or a schoolgirl outfit. And I can take a guess and say Anet doesn’t want us doing that as well. So it’s not a matter of if it can be an outfit or not, it’s a matter of it destroying the atmosphere of the game to have a bunch of swimsuit clad warriors fighting monsters in GW2.

Yeah…. sorry but this system is just a disappointment.

Not only did I lose town clothing, all my head clothing, is now armor skins. Then all my sets that I bought, are now outfits. And all my single pieces, are now tonics. And to top that all off, I have to pay to use them now instead of them being free before. And I can no longer dye them (the outfits) the way I did before, and I can’t even dye the others at all (the tonics). And it throws together some random mash-up of armor that I don’t even like with the tonics.

I mean, what was the point in removing the town clothing again? Why couldn’t you just of left it how it was? Go ahead and let people use clothing head items in combat, but still keep the Town Clothing section so we can still mix and match and dye our town clothing like before.

We paid for town clothing, and this is not at all what we paid for. It sets a really bad image on Anet that we have to resort to refunds because Anet doesn’t want to compromise on this. They’d do the whole “It’s our way or the highway” deal, and if you don’t like it, deal with it. So guess I have to resort to a refund now for all that money I spent on those outfits.

Don’t expect me to spend another cent on this game ever again after this. I just can’t trust this company anymore. This is not an improvement, it is a restriction and a downgrade to what we already had.

SpyderArachnid.5619

No.

It screams F2P Cash Shop. This is supposed to be a “AAA” MMO. RNG Gambling in the Gem Store is not what a AAA MMO does. It is what cheap F2P MMOs do. Which is exactly what GW2 is becoming.

1. AAA status has nothing to do with cash shop model and everything to do with how much money they invested into the game. You can have AAA games that are bad, ask Swtor.

2. AS the result of 1. Anet needs a way to generate income to return Ncsoft’s investment games that are not making money end up like Free realms. They could do p2win stuff, but a lot of people are going to complain. Lock boxes exist to prey on the minds of the weak willed, it should never affect you unless you have no will. You can buy the stuff you want from the box with gold.

3. As the result of 2, Guild wars 2 maintain its AAA status, so go back to one.

The point being cash shop has no correlation to AAA status. The other alternative is pay 15 bucks a month to play the game and then skill get hit with a cash shop with instant level boost.

When I say AAA, I mean as in a rating, not how much money was invested into it.

GW2 was advertised as “You get everything a P2P game offers and more, just without the monthly fee”. Which is completely false. There is so much stuff locked behind the cash shop that P2P games offer for free. GW2 is no where near the quality of a “AAA” P2P MMO. It is more in line with those cheap F2P MMOs.

And a monthly fee is the alternative? Yeah, that would be way better. Seriously it would be. 15 bucks a month and have access to everything in game? That is way cheaper than what we currently have to deal with. I’d rather pay a monthly fee than deal with GW2’s RNG gambling overpriced F2P cash shop.

SpyderArachnid.5619

Okay so let’s try to get this thread back on topic and away from the player population and ESO…..

When we had a suggestion section, there was a few threads about mini games and such in major cities. Anet even has achievements in the game for Bar Brawls, yet they haven’t even been implemented yet. There is an Arena in the Black Citadel and even a Shooting Booth in Divinity’s Reach. Hoelbrak has Keg Brawl, though I barely see anyone there anymore. I don’t know of anything in Rata Sum or The Grove though.

So yeah, they really need to add events to the cities. If you’ve ever been to Ebonhawke, you’ll see some events there in the city that make it interesting. Things like that, or in like Divinity’s Reach, open up the carnival finally and have events we can do. Or make a mini fun dungeon at the carnival that we can play with friends. I played an old F2P MMO called Forsaken World that had a carnival dungeon called the Nightmare Carnival. It was pure fun, no mob fighting or things like that. Just stuff to enjoy and have fun with. Something like that would be awesome.

Even make it play into your Personal Story choices. For those that picked the carny storyline as a Human, allow them to actually perform at the carnival if they choose to.

But rewards eh? Well, if it wasn’t for the new Wardrobe, I’d say let’s make some actual town clothing and toys we can earn in game. Fancy new shirts, hats, even costumes we can earn. Even maybe some toys we can get to use in Costume Brawls. Not everything has to be in the Gem Store. Give us something to actually earn in game for once….

And if that doesn’t float your boat, it would be the perfect time to introduce player housing. Get your own house in your personal instance, and be able to decorate it with all the achievements you’ve earned and such along the way. Even maybe a garden where we can have our own stockpile of herbs and such to pick (like how we have nodes in our instance already). Then when you visit these events in cities like the carnival and stuff, and you play a booth game and win that giant stuffed charr, you can display it in your house.

But yeah, I agree. The cities need to be more lively and have things to do. There is so much space and potential in them, that it is a shame that it is being neglected.

I do miss the joke skills that the wiki had for April Fool’s in GW1. I don’t think we’ll see the same from Anet this year, as it’s a different Anet that brought out GW1-style April Fool’s and are a bunch of humourless kittens.

Last year they had SAB as their joke, so they were kind of let off the hook.

Except they pulled a Blizzard and turned an April Fool’s joke into actual content…

Does Gem clothes count towards Wardrobe?

in Black Lion Trading Co

Posted by: SpyderArachnid.5619

SpyderArachnid.5619

Thinking of buying every possible set from the gemstore… Specially now when certain sets goes up on sales.

DON’T buy gem clothes right now. I can’t stress that enough.

When the patch hits on April 15th, the wardrobe system is going to turn a lot of the outfits and clothing into tonics and full set outfits that cannot be mixed and matched, or dyed properly. And they will become combat skins, not town clothing. And as we all know, combat skins cost charges now to change them. So your town clothing will cost charges now to change them out.

So DO NOT buy any clothing items until after the patch goes live. This way, you can decide if you like the changes or not and don’t get scammed out of your money like the rest of us already have (bait and switch). And then you don’t have to fight with Anet to get a refund, because they are restricting your refunds.

So wait and have patience. If you buy now, most of your outfits will become tonics and full sets that can’t be worn with anything else. Right now the outfits in the gem store are misleading and “full of lies” (weird way to put it, but it’s true). They are selling them based on having multiple pieces that can be mixed and matched and dyed separately, and don’t cost anything to switch out. But come April 15th, you will lose all of those features (bait and switch).

Err…Spyder…I think it is just the Town Clothes they are turning into tonics.
Lisa.

Thing is, it is going to be a lot longer than just 10 days.

That is of course, talking actual playable content. This patch and I think a couple or a few more afterwards are going to be feature (QoL) patches.

While they are nice and all, they are not playable content. It is just changes to already existing features with a few new things added. Not actual content to play.

So you’ll be waiting a lot longer than 10 days for actual content to play. So get comfortable.
