I still find the conversions really strange? Tier 1 armor (rank 60)= 1g 50s and 20k glory, ok, then Nobleman’s armor (rank 60)= 12g 50s, 25k glory, it gets worser as you go up with the exception of rank 80 armor (tier 3 and nightmare, which justifies it price) the rest is ridiculous.

Since most skyhammer farmers are selling millions of glory for gifts to other players, rather than injecting 1mil+gold into the economy (reason why there isn’t a rollback to begin with, rather skyhammer farmers are taking money from other pve farmers[i.e no gold being put into the economy]). I don’t think their ranks can be rollback because of what Anet has revealed about their engine by them saying it only keeps at least a 1 week (or 2) rollback feature for individual players that are hacked. The lack of taking skyhammer out in a quickfix when the exploit happened is probably more complicated than we think, but it ruined the game as a whole. I think the reason why the devs have not responded in (4 months?) to skyhammer threads is because the damage is done and they can’t do anything but lose more customers (ban).

1. When will we be able to use quaggan tonics in heart of the mists? (make it happen!!!)
2. Since glory will be removed in the far future, what will happen to glory chests/all pvp currency we have now?
3. Will 2v2 or 3v3 queues be implemented in the future?

Start Decay feels to fast

I will dumb it down how decay works:
If you stop playing and are rank 20 lets say, then you will decay every hour for not playing, BUT if you queue up again the system thinks you are rank 20 still. The decay is only in place for people that get to top 10 and never play again. So in your first example you when you queued up again your online leaderboard decayed rank said 50, but when you entered solo q you were rank 11, so when you lost you lost from rank 11 not 50.

The problem is that went you reset the leaderboards, it is pretty much first come first serve on where you are placed in the ranking so terrible players got placed into top 100 easily by just playing immediately after reset (from my personal experience with people who I help how to pvp suddenly reach rank 50 in the first day of reset). I will probably just not spvp for a few weeks to let people naturally fall down to their ranking before playing again, but I don’t expect to reach top 100 again so easily since winning at this point is just 50/50 on random wins and losses.

Naturally starting to play later in the day, my personal experience with ranks displayed as numbers:
1st match: 1, 6, 9, 22, (52:me) vs varying from 30-40s: loss
2nd match: 5, 12, 19, 32 vs all 40s: loss
3rd match: 10, 20something, 2 30s vs 1, 6, 19, 45, 10: win (this 1 I felt bad for after winning a 2v1 and realized they were only a rank 1 and 6, how the hell is the matchmaking working?)
Since then they have been 50/50 based on who gets the low rank that wants to camp a point, bleh.

syncing and 4v5 never was an issue in team q and many players feel disrespected after spending alot of time and practise into it atleasti in the Eu scene. announcing it month ago or filtering players without a certain amount played in the last weeks or month is not that hard but you cant punish players because you fail at announcing / or start finding a solution too late. We never abused anything of the broken aspects in team q so tell me again that you disrespect my hundreds of hours i spended here ! or be more specific with your topics and make it Solo q related

Instead of removing it, can the devs elaborate why it should stay or any reason to justify why 1 of the most hated maps in solo queue rotation still hasn’t been removed?
If the reason involves working on fixes* to make it less cheese, why not remove the map completely, fix it, then bring it back for player feedback to see if skyhammer is more competitive rather than force feeding us a map we don’t want to play (the poll speaks for itself).

Since new game modes and rewards are being worked on:
-Remove Skyhammer from solo q
-Rollback ranks or get rid of them all together for leaderboard rank at match end
- Actually balance traits that nobody uses instead of nerfing/buffing traits that are commonly used
- /resign added to tpvp
- in game leaderboard page, instead of going to a website
-Quaggan tonics can be used in heart of the mist.

I can only imagine internal dev meetings where they have* to assume extremes, the 500+ tpvp chest holders and the glory holders (1mil+), assuming there is a “fair” rng which will never be the case for every person, I assume the drop rate will be small enough that threads like, “I have 400 tourny chests and I don’t get 1 shard” are soon to pop soon.

I think this does damage to “General” knowledge of tpvp which requires high coordination[via calling targets/numbers on point], but (sorry for the gw1 reference) if anything, it exposes bad players because in gw1 you could see every enemy (8v8v8) and people still lacked common sense to move to a point, this I think tpvp wise, gives you an excuse to remove players from your team that can’t hear and or see the minimap now.

Been a long known bug, but the effect usually disappears after a couple of games.
Note: This is only possible if you have the legendary on a pve character you are using to pvp.

/bow for the ele buffs, time will tell if it was a good decision or not. The only thing that is slightly annoying is a 1 month wait time. If you implemented these changes “now” couldn’t you better gauge if one class is op and hotfix it? (assuming this is easy on a programming side?). My particular frustration comes with, shouldn’t these changes be implemented say, in 1 week? and hotfix things that are blatantly OP? We shouldn’t have to wait 1 month* for a stale meta which never really changed by opening more defensive options for classes.

I would be curious to see conquest with 4 capture points, since this essentially makes it a more “organized” deathmatch style which results in each team holding 2 points while focusing on individual skirmishes making clutch plays (reducing the 4v4/5v5 clutter we have now). It could also push bunkers out and focus more on specs that are good for surviving and pushing out damage. This is also a chance to reduce the blowouts of having every point capped in the current system, because with 4, the team is spread too thinly to defend all 4 points or even 3, leaving the majority of matches coming down to kills made when each respective team holds 2 each.

Patch ruined the balance in this game!

Since this thread literally got necro’d from death can I add 1 point: Why are hotjoin achivements > tourny achievements? (i.e “Paragon” (45ap)= 200 hotjoin wins > Champion Paragon (35ap)= 150 Tournament wins) = wat?!

If an Anet dev can personally pm me behind this decision I would want to hear the reason why looking at 200 casual wins over 150 actual wins you work for = less reward, I am just mind boggled.

If you guys could lowers the ui game sound as a whole, I have to REALLY raise the volume to overcome the prevalent ui sounds over your guys voice (for me). Something you guys mentioned on getting blasted out (hammer #4?) did nerf d/d eles in their rotation since they relied on catching people for blowout, but that’s another issue.
edit: the podcast was nice to hear overall as it discusses the main points that any guardian should question/agree.

That’s an outrageous advantage for the first team. Are you sure it’s as easy as you think it is?

A dev has already explained the different models he’s working with in pretty decent detail in some other threads. It sounds like the new model will be ready for the next PvP update.

I’m also holding out for the new matchmaking model too, hopefully sync queuing is fixed (pls -.-)

The only people that care about rank are those that want to stroke their kitten at how many hours they spent grinding an artificial rank that doesn’t take any skill to get.

u know its just so at the moment? atm you are right there is no impact to the small pvp population. but the glory and rank does not suddenly disappear and can impact and damage the population if the meaning of glory getting changed.

what do think if anet would implement a glory-gold exchange measured by the amount of glory pvpler get in a certain time and by mistake pick some glory-farmer as precedence? would it not hurt u if u would get less gold for a certain amount of glory?

so it should be better get cleared before it get a meaning and the possibility to clear disappears.

You’re beating on a dead horse, a new system is in place that won’t rely on glory for a pvp->pve conversion system in place. The real question is when?

There is only 1 problem with that which is that it unfortunately boils down to more game modes to keep players hooked because you can clearly see that there were some people actually trying to be “competitive” within the first 2 months of the game but interest fell off from playing the same thing over and over. Conquest isn’t that much of a problem once you know how to win in general (winning team fights, when to engage, rotations, etc) unfortunately you don’t learn any of this doing hotjoin and if you soloq you get flamed by the community blaming the loss on you. Esports cannot be forced, if there were a variety of game modes available, the activity of the community will show that there is actual competition going on, but conquest isn’t that popular because of the “time-gate” to learn the game mode/becomes very boring in some respects after awhile.

Tbh this guys sounds like a hotjoin hero based off the claim that he made about having the second most tournis played NA thats is not possible to calculate. the ladder does not tell you how many tournis played/won befor the ladder came out and i was rank 40 by the time ladder even came out. Another suggestion to marvin 300+ per champ means nothing at all but that uve wanted to get the title for every class in the game aka hotjoin hero and 300 games is kitten and means nothing. try 1-2 classes its good to know all classes but not good play all so much see as you needed that time to correctly learn your main. once you have 1500+ tournis then u have effectively learned that class.

They want to, it’s their job, i don’t really doubt that part…
But “want” doesn’t mean you “have the mind for it”.

The devs actually really care alot about spvp balance, the problem is that they can’t be more open to the community behind the process. Unfortunately taking so much time off from a serious balance patch (3 months?) has killed the pvp community more than they thought, even the “official gw2 pvp twitch” which is supposed to be 24/7 pvp has severely dropped from what it used to and you can see it by the amount of people even streaming. Viewership has dropped, but some can remain hopeful that if “real” balance happens the old players come back, but right now things look too grim. They want to push out quality of life patches but it might be too late.

Most of the people posting seem to forget that 2-3 is still the equalizer in whether you get a skin or not. 2-1 and 2-2 were a joke before and still are now. They secretly added a stealth nerf to 2-3 which makes it slightly (not going to say hard) more annoying.

There are 2 workarounds to almost all of your problems, after killing the tree stump in front of that checkpoint there are hillbillies, to the side of that mountain you can jump down the ledges and climb up a waterfall. Use a bomb to reveal a secret room that is very dark with many hillbillies, once you reach the end of the cave you end at the end of the “frogger” part and you take a simple wooden log to the store. The mushroom part you are referring to, you don’t have to do it at all if u travel the logs on the waterfall, b4 the last hilltop (4th one) and the 2nd to last (3rd) there is a log that travels fast all the time, at the end of that there is a secret bear cave, if you climb it to the top you end right at the checkpoint before the final boss.

This is pretty much spot on and the reason why most of the people I knew quit the game before this terrible meta. I don’t intend to knock the devs down but when we (before solo q) faced a full anet dev team and they (devs [whose names will be censored]) could not play even a mesmer properly (auto attacking on staff is as far as I will discuss this) had alot of people laughing on ts as we stomped them on a landslide (120-500?). If they never split PvE/PvP and continue to be arrogant thinking they can do both they should literally just stop and let any form of skill die off. I think everyone knows what the main problems are:
1. No split between PvE/PvP limits any form of balance for pvp
2. AoE needs to be lowered overall to promote more skill play (reduce the 100-0 spikes with it)
3. Rewards- I will say it is 3 but it is literally the reason why I don’t even tpvp anymore due to having amassed a stack of each respective tourny token and another 50 chests waiting to be opened.
4. I think there are better ideas which the community has spoken of which include being able to change our passive traits to introduce more build diversity, if Anet doesn’t choose to take these seriously I just can’t.
5. I will put this at the bottom of my list because Gw1 is just superior to Gw2 in terms of gamemodes which have been discussed to death so I will just say /enuff said on this topic.

New minimap

I don’t mind the new minimap, just give me back my zoom. Personally it looks very awkward zoomed all the way out, when it used to be zoomed in I liked looking at bigger icons and wouldn’t mind wasting 1/2 second to drag the map slightly to see the entire thing, I’m baffled why the zoom feature was taken out, it seems like 2 steps forward (minimap design) 1 step back (loss of a feature previously given).

People are still farming deadeye like crazy some people got 800g (should be considered an exploit) from deadeye farming already and will continue to generate money like crazy until you put a stop to it.

And you can’t farm him, poor boy?

I never tried tbh. This is borderline exploit, so not touching this with a 10 feet pole.

When you think about it, if you go in and beat him WITHOUT any gambits you are getting 1 bag per 1 queen ticket, adding gambits only makes it so instead of doing 5 runs you do 1, therefore in theory if deadeye got nerfed to hell people would move onto the next cheese (1/2/3 gambits or just plain kill him for a bag).

If any guardian is having problem with this dungeon roll a 20/0/30/20/0 build (the only important trait you want is taking 10% more damage on the zeal 20 trait line. The ONLY three other important pre-requisites is having all soldier runes and taking on your skill bar (aegis heal/ utility skills: save yourself/ hold the line/ stand your ground/ elite: renewed focus). The final thing is taking ALL ZERKER GEAR (NO EXCEPTIONS) sword/focus and sceptor/torch (superior sigil of energy and sigil of force on each weapon set is preferred [to dodge 1 time on weapon swap]). You only want to swap to sword/focus to have a free block or dodge roll in phase 2, but your sceptor will literally melt the final boss with auto attacks and torch “4” for an easy 8k burst.
edit: by 10% in zeal take the 10% more damage to burning foes and 10% dmg on sceptor for the “major deeps”
