Don’t play a zerker if you can’t counter a zerker. Glass on glass. Bread on bread. They take out each other. A guardian/warrior wears heavy armor, a Thief wears medium armor, an Elementalsit wears light armor. It would be more reasonable to buff Elementalist, than nerf Thief.

Seven other classes? Thief, Mesmer and Engineer have stealth. Thief being the most op stealth class. So i’d say five classes. Ranger do however have stealth on a trait but that is 30 cd cooldown and only when you get ccd.
Nerf the stealth so it can’t be on longer than 6 seconds or so. It should be used to trick the enemy and also escape or attack.
I would really like new animations for our characters when we run. This is when we have movement boons on us like Swiftness. You can get it from skills, boosts, food etc.
So different running animations for each class would be a good start.
Thief: Run like a ninja.
Warrior: Charge like a juggernaut.
Elementalist: Float on a cloud of lightning.
Etc.
Monsters need to get smarter to counter some builds we players use. There are a few examples i can give. Just like the scale system work in this game with monsters, they either get higher level, more skills or better stats.
What if monsters got new skills depending what build we are using, for example: I’m a zerker warrior and burst the enemy, the enemy notice i hit really hard so he gains a new skill that reflects 50% the damage back to the attacker for 3 seconds.
Or i am a defensive built character with a lot of health, armor and heal. The monster recognizes this and gains a skill that hit very hard while reducing defensive stats for a few seconds.
This would be a good counter mechanic for monsters and it would actually make the game more difficult for everyone with different builds. So whatever build you’re using, you will have to be careful.

The commander tags can be bought for 100 gold but they’re not measuring the commanders skill in any way. I think commanders should be able to rank up so you can see if it’s a good/experienced commander or a bad/inexperienced commander. I’m not sure how this should work, but in some way it should be visible to other players and the commander himself if he’s a good commander or if he needs to improve.

Commander tag is mostly for WvW, so it should be measured in how much in WvW and how many good feats you have accomplished. How meaningful you are to your team and your server.

In the video you only see two bosses. That doesn’t convince me as a good update! i hope there is more to this update than two bosses, or i will be greatly disappointed.
I’m pretty sure there will be some kind of storyline in this update. You talk to NPCs and they give you directions where to go etc, like we had in some of the Living Story updates. You collected items, put em together and followed a story through a zone or two.
I hope they do this again, it was really good way to do the story, while moving you to point of interest for the Living Story. (the two new bosses and their meaning, more about Scarlet, how evil, intelligent and devious she is, what will come next etc).
Yes, i agree. Right now all the updates have been the same pretty much. Not building up step after step.
What i think though is they should focus more on the new characters they add and tell us how they connects to the story. There have been really good characters in the Living Story but many of them didn’t get as much sunlight as for example Kasmeer, Kiel, Scarlet , Braham, and Rox.
Yeah maybe. Once Scarlet is beaten though, it would be nice if NPCs speak of her and she’s now known in history of Tyria. I mean, she left a big scar.. so if NPCs aren’t going to speak of her, then the Living Story will be “all is vain”.
I like this. As i’ve read the book, this is going to be good if it’s true.
It seems like the Living Story so far isn’t one story, there are smaller things coming together. There are sub stories and a lot of things going on in the background. If they could get all these sub stories into the game, so we could be a part of it that would be the best thing.
Teq are for raiders. If you don’t like raiding, Teq is not for you.
So i guess GW2 will release in China this summer? and we will get a lot of the stuff the chinese are getting into their version of the game.
The game offers something for everyone. I’m sure housing, guild halls, GvG, update to WvW, PvE/PvP crossover and new skills/weapons etc would make it a 10/10.
That bug/glitch still happens but very rarely. Sometimes when you fall down/get knocked down you can get stuck in that position. It’s fun
Random world bosses that destroy entire cities and such would be epic.

No it won’t be on the western server (that’s a fact until proven otherwise). And I’m very glad this is the case. Guild Wars 2 should be free of any subscription fees.
It is free, but you can chose if you want to pay for VIP or not. You will only get bonuses if you do, if you don’t, you play like normal.

I hope we get this on the western servers and not only Chinese servers. VIP would be really good here as well. Some people want to pay monthly rather than buying gems. The bonuses you get for it looks really worth it imo.

I’m pretty sure those pillars in the ground are meant to awake this “demon”. It could be Primordus but it could also be some champion of Primordus. Or it could be a titan of some sort.
A venom build is not really about condition damage. Venom is for hybrid builds imo.

They should do these contests a lot. Have them every patch or so like they have with Dota 2. There’s a workshop where you put up your work and people can rate the items you’ve made and those items with highest ratings makes it into the game.

because hitting 1 button that fears people off the ledge makes you soooo skillful.
Facing the portal usually fixes that problem. Don’t face a ledge and use your stun breakers to get out of CC. It’s easy to counter. As a thief i don’t have much CC that fears, knock back etc so the only chance i have is to use Steal on a necro and fear or i try to not face a ledge so they can’t fear, knock me back off the ledge.
It’s not that hard.
Stealth should only last for a few seconds imo. Then it can be balanced. It should be there as a way of escaping damage and confuse your enemy. The perma stealth thief is op and it’s a game breaking build that ruins the game.
Join a Solo Arena. Team with most mesmers win.

In the months that follow, we will be working to eliminate the difference between PvP and PvE gear. Players will be able to earn gear in PvP that can be carried over to PvE and vice versa. This means that players who have carefully crafted their appearance in one area of the game will have a way to carry that look over to other areas of the game.
Even though we will be eliminating the distinction between PvP and PvE gear, gear in PvP will continue to not have stats. The armor and weapons you carry into PvP will be, like they are now, just for looks. Traits, skills, runes and sigils will still be different for PvP so you will continue to be able to have different builds in PvP and PvE.
Existing PvP skins will still have value with upcoming changes, so it benefits you greatly to continue filling out your collection.
So ArenaNet announced we would be able to take our PvP armor and weapons to PvE and our PvE armor and weapons to PvP. I just farmed 60k glory for T3 cultural. When will we get this crossover?
I assume the PvP locker will serve as a container for both PvP and PvE now and you will have a limited use, just like you have with your achievement rewards.
Not really. Elementalist isn’t weak but not as good as other classes. Some weapon skills are just lame and could be a lot better.
Does the coffer from the new merchant reward you armor and weapons depending on your rank tier? because i’m rank 27 and i get the same same skins over and over.

If you’re a signet/initiative thief i would go Dagger/Dagger mostly for Cloak and Dagger and use backstab a lot. The stacks of poison you can get with Dagger autoattack is good as well, even if you’re not a condition thief.
If you go Dagger/Pistol you can get single target blindness and also AoE blindness + that smoke field. Will make you tougher.

Edit: SPvP is a team effort, you can’t really win a match if you have 2 less experienced players, 3 experienced players when you’re up against a whole team of experienced players. 4vs5 would be almost impossible. It really depends what players you’re up against.
So i’ve been playing Solo Arena a lot. Only 5k away from Human T3 medium, right now i have 55k glory. Anyway, to get on topic i had one of my best matches today.
First we killed Chieftain as fast as we could. I ran over to Svanir and there was a warrior, i killed him, Svanir had 5% hp i use Heartseeker BOOM dead. That’s 50 points from animals. So one after one they come at me at Svanir, i kill all of them one by one, like a real Shinobi (Ninja Assassin), this build is the best Thief build versus all classes in 1vs1 situations, except it can be really hard to take down a good mesmer.
Overall it was a fun match, i got to duel people 1vs1 and used my skills wisely and i felt like a professional.
