Hello,
i just wanted to ask if you or maybe the devs consider burning as broken and if it will get fixed.
while i do like that burning makes condi builds now viable in pve, i really feel like its way too strong in pvp. some professions just have way to easy access to high burning stacks.

//edit: i actually dont know if this thread is better here or in pvp, but i thought if it changes, maybe with the hot update.

while i like that idea of removing that 1s icd on the condi remove trait, i think it would be too strong for the minor trait which heals on evade. you would be on full health in group fights the whole time. you would have the healing capabilites of an d/d ele :>

ZDragon nice try Necromancer. You can feel lucky for your Reaper elite spec. We try to give feedback and suggestions on the Daredevil which is by far not as good as your spec. I bet you didnt even play Daredevil and just say one more dodge is good enough as a new elite specs mechanic. No, its just not.
And its so obvious that the new dodges are a part of the mechanic. So in comparison to other elite specs mechanic, it should be in the first minor trait, hence F3-5 skills (or only one which switches through or swap between two with cd of maybe 10s).

Everything about Daredevil feels like an internal first pass that never should have seen the light of day: recycled placeholder animations that feel inappropriate, badly placed traits (and having the GM slot taken up by our “new mechanic”), physical skills costing initiative, long and clunky startup/aftercast delays making it impossible for dodges and staff animations to flow with the rest of our kit…

Between the unaddressed core issues with Thief and the unpolished nature of a lot of what was seen of Daredevil so far, I’m not feeling especially optimistic right now. At the least, they need to refine everything we’ve seen so far and make it smooth as hell. The current state of Daredevil is simply not acceptable.

I dont see it that negativ, but you are pretty much on point.

How do you guys think thiefs (And Daredevil) will do in raids? As i see it, so many other classes has the same damage, with better support and better defence? The only pro to thief would be more dodging, and stealth, but how often would stealth be needed in a single encounter? I love thief, but i will be focusing my time on raids, and thief seems underpowered here :/

No one can interrupt as much as a thief. Assuming boss fights will require interrupt/cc, thief will get a slot.

with the new introduced break bar, headshot is not that nice anymore. but without any break bar, you are right.

it works for me. just sometimes if i interrupt tentacles, i dont get “interrupted” but i clearly interrupted the animation… so sometimes its weird.

I am quite disappointed with every animation on daredevil so far. vault and bound are at least new. all the other animations are or looks recycled. with does daredevil get out of ALL elite specs so far the most recycled animations??

Sigil of Energy: Claims to restore 50 PERCENT (a bar and a half) of endurance on weapon swap. Only restores 50 energy (one bar).

50% endurance is 1 bar. We have now 150% and its not 50% of 150%. Same with signet of agility and hard to catch.

50% is not 1 bar. 50% is 50% of all your endurance, which would be 1.5 bars. Therefore they changed the description of Signet of Agility to gain 100 endurance. There is a difference between 50% and 50 endurance.

Staff does NOT suck.

Staff is bad vs players who know how to play. You won vs d/p thieves as staff thief? That means they weren’t good because D/P hardcounters staff, with shadow shot alone.

I played the Daredevil in PvE (open world and dungeons) and in sPvP.

The mechanic of the Daredevil is an extra dodge bar for the thief, thats nothing really special and very underwhelming. The real new mechanic is hidden in the grandmaster traits where you change your dodge fully to something new. In comparison to all the other elite specs this feels wrong. So i really like the suggestion to move the current grandmaster traits to baseline DD (make it a F3) and give the DD real grandmaster traits.

The animations in general for the DD are underwhelming. Just from the looks you have the feeling to play a warrior, not an acrobatic elite spec for thief. Thats one of the reasons i think that you just feel really slow on DD.

The dodges feel just clunky and slow. This is because of the small aftercast/rooting effect after each dodge, the animations are too long and all the bugs (weapon swap during dodge interrupts the dodge, you cannot dodge when dazed etc.). You cant use Dash when you are in fight (and want to fight) cause this brings you way out of melee range. Bound is just so unreliable to hit (is it on purpose that if you look down you do a Bound on spot – same with Weaking Charge?).

The staff has no real reason to exist. It should be THE cleave weapon for the thief but its just inferior to s/x in every way. Only Vault hits 5 targets which fits the cleave theme and which is better than s/x. Nevertheless the staff is the weapon with the worst survivability of all the thief’s weapon combination. The only evade frame is on the third skill which brings you out of melee range – inferior to Pistol Whip and Flanking Strike.

Staff AA the animations should be faster or the chain needs to do more damage and the last attack in the chain should hit 5 ppl.

Weakening Charge should get an evade frame and be aimable (like GS3 on warrior) or you should dash towards your target.

Debilitating Arc should get the evade frame in the beginning of the skill animation.

Dust Strike is the worst skill in my opinion. This long cast time and this extremly underwhelming effect doesnt save you in any cases. Maybe change it to AoE blindness around you or change it to a block with an AoE knockback/knockdown with 5 initiative cost.

Vault needs to do more damage or a faster animation or an evade frame. You are just dead by arriving/interrupted etc.. Its by far the slowest leap ingame (Bound is very slow too). If you weapon swap during Vault your character doesnt react like in any other normal leap (that you leap a bit longer in distance).

The traits are fine. But Evasive Empowerment should change to a buff over 5 seconds and stack in intensity or duration. Staff Master feels a bit underwhelming, maybe up the % damage a kitten

anneled Vigor seems like a bad healing skill just because of the fact that it goes against the mechanic of their own spec.

Bandit’s Defense is a really nice skill if it stays on 10s CD baseline and not (like in the stream said) goes up to 15s CD. But it should be changed that you can interrupt your own block with another skill.

Distracting Daggers cast time feels way too long and should be lowered. Its just not really usable with that 15s timeframe you get and the GCD after every dagger throw.

Fist Flurry is my favorite new utility skill. You need to hit everything to get access to Palm Strike. That sounds really nice in theory. But Palm Strike is the very definition of disappointment. It feels so extremly unrewarding. My suggestion would be to let Palm Strike always hit critically and the damage should be like a Backstab into the back.

Impairing Daggers seems fine so far (are the mobs in Verdant Brink immun to slow?)

The Elite seems okay. The animation is a bit off though in comparison to the effect.

Just wanted to know what you think about:
Unyielding Anguish – Shadow steps to enemies and remove them from that point. Applies Torment on landing.
It has no CD, costs 35 energy and it pulses 4 times in 4 seconds. so basically you could get teleported outside of the aoe 4 times. you have normally two dodges.
So this skill is a hard counter against shadow refuge?

Flanking Strike does indeed make a hugh difference in team fights. You will evade a lot of AoE with that skill.

Because S/D you evade way more than D/P and probably the damage is better with S/D on low crit rates. Furthermore you have a teleport on the sword, which is just too good.

I think its a known bug, but i didnt see any threads about it and the searchbar doesnt function for me.

You have three utility skills: “utility 1”, “utility 2” and “utility 3”.
If you have “utility 1” on cooldown and swap for example “utility 3” with another utility, it gets the remaining cooldown of “utility 1”.

Once i was on warrior, had my banner on cooldown (around 100 seconds) and swapped the two other utilitys and i had all three utility on cooldown of 100 seconds.

Maybe you guys know exactly when this bug occure.

Oh, yes, there will always be complaints. Nothing is perfect, but there is a difference between what I’m talking about and what you’re talking about. Beyond the simple, ‘meh it’s not really my thing so I didn’t enjoy it.’ I don’t like SAB for example, and I’ve stated in my reviews that I don’t care for it because it’s not my play style. Outside that though it’s very well constructed and looks fun to play. That’s totally different than like the OP’s (and others on here) “oh this is total kitten, anet doesn’t know wtf they are doing” etc etc.

I have to ask…. what freaking hype? Anet gave us a zone portal, a teaser trailer, 2 snippets of audio, 2 concept art, and a twitch that covered the journal as a whole. That’s it. We got more kitten during season 1! We have made assumptions. We speculated. But there really was no hype on anets part for this. They’ve stated that “season 2” is awesome (or something along those lines) but that’s referring to the whole season… not just the first patch. They really haven’t built it up like they did with prior releases.

I think people would have been kittened if their world completion had been invalidated by the new zone(s). Especially if they have it on multiple characters. So I can understand why it doesn’t count towards the original completion. It’s not really all that different than Canthan Cartographer being separate from Krytan Cartographer.

I don’t mind them doing the map piece by piece, to facilitate the ‘exploration’ feeling. It also forces the content locusts to slow down, and stems the flow of “more more more kittening more” somewhat.

well, if you show a new zone portal as a teaser, a normal person will think you get a new (normal) zone. cause thats shown in the teaser. everyone liked it and eventually you get hyped (some more or less i guess, i read reddit and there we got pretty hyped). maybe hype is the wrong word. you get some expectations with that teaser of a zone portal and it couldnt deliver that well (only because the map is so small).

and yea, i think they should have added a new achievement for the a zone completion or something. maybe they will add that in future cause that would spoil how many zones are coming?

we will see.

i came to the forums and see so many complains about the new map with jumping etc..
i personally love the new (too small but it will get expended, so thats good) zone. its really beautiful and the sandstorm gives something unique. and its the freaking first desert area in gw2!
to explore the map was really(!!!) nice. for the first time since launch i had that feeling (for southsun cove i didnt had that) again, that feeling when you go somewhere new!
i liked the zephyrite jumping skills and i love to use them now in the normal open world (for all the whiners maybe just dont let them use it in the story instances, but yet, cant believe that degree of whining).

Honestly, they wouldn’t be satisfied if they got a full 6, 8, 10 full maps either if you think about it. They go out, play 8 hours a day. In a matter of days they have consumed the content and the chant “more more more” starts all over again…

well that would be unfair, though i think some ppl would still complain, you are right. but still, i think most ppl anticipated/hoped for at least one normal-sized zone at the release of this hyped season 2.

edit: a normal-sized map with normal vistas/pois/waypoints/events/world boss. i think its pretty bad, that the new map doesnt count towards (old or new) world completion achievement. and its pretty bad that you dont get anything for map completion (though the map is not completed yet, so that may be wrong in future).

i really do like the new map and i think anet did a good job with it. however i am very disappointed that we only get 25% of the actual map. i do see the logic behind it to get parts of the map out every 2 or 4 weeks BUT most (well at least my friends and i feel that way) people who wanted an expansion are eager to just walk around and explore new zones! that is exciting and fun, to see new stuff. and yea, if you want to explore the new zone you are done in 1h and need to wait for the next release.

thats just disapointment and so i think the ppl who wanted an expansion are not satisfied with that sort of living story.

you guys seriously complain about the 6 times you have to use the zephyrite skills? everyone can do it, and i mean everyone. some may need 3 hours, doesnt matter, then try 3 hours and others do it in 5 min..
if you lag, tone down everything – you may fail some times, just keep trying.

CoE Golem Bug

The Advanced Golem is definitely bugging out now that he can move. I haven’t done CoE enough after the patch to replicate the bug but I have an indication what’s causing it:

If you approach the room of the Advanced Golem the turrets around him activate. But if you move back before the Advanced Golem is aggro’d (but do have the turrets around him activated) then I believe he bugs out.

yes, that was my impression too. he bugs out to 50% if you do that.
so to avoid this bug. just stack might before and then go fully in! you should just be first before your party bugs it.

Hello,
sometimes randomly i wont get the chests after each boss fight in dungeons. i see the chest on the minimap, but there is no chest. and if i press f while standing where the chest should be, i wont get loot either.
i do every dungeon only once per day.

edit: i wont even get daily reward chest and no champion loot bags from bosses.

i got this bug now already 5 times after the latest feature patch. i am no kitten and this bug is for real. i dont know what triggers it. i just get it randomly.

i have to agree. the battle music is getting better and better. i loved the marionette music but this is even better!!

molten facility fractal

Hey,
the Molten Facility Fractals is bugged sometimes(!). In the end just before the cage with the weapon tests. Rox and Braham are entering the arena and dont do anything.
We suicided and walked back but then Rox and Braham are only following us and dont start their dialogue either.
Please fix this as it is really annoying. I dont know what triggers that bug, but it happened now 5 times.

It’s missing a retrain option. It shouldn’t necessarily have all trainers to buy the books, but the possibility to retrain all my traits.
I don’t miss a fractal entrance, but not being able to retrait in such a place of luxury is a bummer.

i am a fellow thief player and i LOVE the changes made. it was the right way to nerf permastealth + infiltrators return as they were OP like hell. now dont come with other professions and their OP stuff, that has no place here. everything which is OP has to go away.

lol i think all classes should be able to have a outnumbered fight just like the war or mesmer or what ever . but just because we r able to jump in a fight and help finish off that persons rampage dos not mean we should be forced to be a finisher/ support class lol

i dont know what you are talking about. permastealth is just bad and everyone knows it. infiltrators return is a “stunbreak” without cd, so cc immunity. b r o k e n – and therefore removed!

subject 6 just needs 19 stacks in generell in this fight. you dont need to kill him while he has that 19 stacks.

most people (inkl myself) are not angry because we have that light human t3 armor and now there is a “better” version of it for a cheaper price, it is because its a cultural armor. the armor belongs to a human and NO other race. the uniqueness is lost now.

Dredge Fractal "Fix"

As I said. I’m looking forward to see developers doing this on 30+

I’ve always wanted to see them do the Dredge fractal at high level, without a death. Especially the “bombing of the door”.

I’d support the decision to change the pads, if the mobs are tank-able or killable whilst one guy opens the door. I strongly suspect that these mobs have not been toned down at all, however. I’ve always said that the “best way to complete content” should never, ever be through suicide.

L30+ Super-human PuGs only?

Actually you can do the door bombing in 2 tries without anyone dying (maybe 1 person as the decoy dies) in any fractal level (old ones, i dont know all the mistlocks). But you need 1 thief.

Fractal lv 37 --> Mai Trin boss impossible.
