Soulbeast: would be nice if some new animations get added. Otherwise great.

Holosmith: absolutely awesome concept and is pretty fun. But the numbers should get toned down.

Scourge: really cool, but again a bit overtuned.

Deadeye: cast time on Mark has to go away, rifle felt weak compared to other weapons.

Weaver: looks like a lot of fun but I think to give proper feedback here it takes more time than a weekend.

Renegade: a bit dull to play in my opinion, but it has to get toned down. The DPS is way too strong!

Like you said +3 initiative has to be baseline.

But I think steal CD reduction and initiative on steal should definitely stay in trickery, otherwise that traitline would be underpowered.

Now for the replacement for that +3 initiative trait. It should be connected with initiative or steal.

I got stuck like this 3 times already. I lost 2 matches because of this. It’s really irritating.
Once longbow 4 ranger, then F1 guard and lastly revenant downstate 2. I hope for a fix….

But a method which works and is 100% save is to Alt+F4. Start gw2 as quickly as possible and log into the same character. You are gonna be in the match again, dead, so 15s waiting time, but overall you lost probably 60-90s.

Hello guys,
i wanted to ask you whether there is an actual portal in the world map to enter the Bastion of the Penitent raid wing.

On the world map, there is a portal for this wing in Bloodstone Fen right next to the Zealot’s Overlook Waypoint. But i was looking extensively for this portal and didn’t find it.

Is it a bug or does the portal appear after some events or does this portal not exist?

Rifle Thief: how does it make you feel?

And the same kind of safe damage is applicable to every profession in the game when it comes to cooldowns though. Except the damage is safer than from most other professions in this case, and quite frankly, we don’t know enough about the rifle to determine if those other sets are required or not. Unless the weapon is a gimmick, it will have the capacity to replace elements of others essential to the thief. All depend on high cooldowns to get some kind of major effect. The defining line at hand is about risk/reward and safety of damage. If there was a skill with a 5 minute cooldown that auto-killed a target in sight, it would be stupid, no?

Again, you’re making assumptions about the rifle’s mobility and stealth access. We can’t confirm that this will be heavily limited, and it’s something people are advocating for ensuring don’t – particularly in conjunction with burst – to avoid cheese. And that’s precisely it; nobody has the ability to provide proof on anything but simply state concerns that things very well could get out of hand.

I paralleled this to Ghost Thief above, which while it wasn’t explicitly overpowered, was not healthy for the game. I express similar concerns about the rifle and burst damage without major tradeoffs. There’s really nothing to argue here because we’re talking about the potential for things to go awry, rather than what we expect to.

Expectations of the implementation being poor can only be based on ANet’s track record. I personally think theirs is terrible when it comes to profession design, including that of many aspects of the Daredevil and thief.

Well you make assumptions yourself too. At this stage we can only assume and theorize about what will be, cause we simply can’t. But from the same person who leaked some pictures it had been said that the new elite spec is all about positioning and not stealth.

I assume Thief didn’t had a long range weapon yet because thieves have high mobility and stealth. If you take away the high mobility and part of stealth, it is save to assume that high dmg wouldn’t be op on the rifle. There could be so many systems to avoid that.
For example: reveal buff on rifle skills or class mechanic, unique buff which increase the dmg for every second you are standing still etc.

Ofc you can write down your concerns, but you are just assuming rifle is high dmg at range with high mobility and stealth.

Rifle Thief: how does it make you feel?

Let’s pretend thief will get a rifle for his new elite spec.

While I first had doubts to the balance in wvw, I think there is enough which could and probably will be done to make it balanced.

It won’t be a problem in spvp, because those maps are rather small, there are a lot of reflects and gap closers.

What Anet can and probably will do is to bring a lot of reveal on the rifle skills or into the class mechanic. They can cripple the movement. Make it 1 dodge, etc etc..

We don’t know yet how this all will turn out, but in pretty sure it will be a power weapon (condi just doesn’t make too much sense, because condi is meta right now anyway and rifle wouldn’t be the condi weapon – more focus, torch or scepter). It will be high single target dps on range, because thief is missing it and if the DPS in pve wouldn’t be good, then nobody would use it anyway, even though not everyone is raiding, but high lvl fractal and raid meta is still a thing the balance team is checking.

There will be a draw back to range dps, im pretty sure.

Weakening Charge needs to be revamped.

I agree with op. Weakening charge was bad designed. If not used with steal, or camera down without target, nobody would really use it. It’s a skill which locks you into an animation and make you move forward, it doesn’t to more dmg than auto attack if used properly.
So yes, this skill would have been better off without the movement part!

Hello,
i am trying to finish my precursor hunt for “The Predator” and am currently in Vol. 3. There i have to “Assassinate Champion Frainn” to get that achievement. Its the group event at the end of an event chain in Timberline Falls, close to the might Oouo in the east.
There is only one overflow server in EU with Timberline Falls (ip ending: .78), so i cant guest or anything and on this one map, the event chain is bugged out.
In the cave close to the waypoint there is no grawl shaman anymore, so he should spawn a bit to the north as the first event of this event chain.
Its already a few days and its still bugged and i still cant find another server.
Please fix this event for good – i read people had similar or same problems with this event chain 2 years ago.
I cant progress my precursor and i bet other people are in the same boat as me. You need that event chain for another precursor hunt as well, but i forgot which one.

ANet did an AMA in the gw2 subreddit and they answered some questions about the release schedules.

So every 3-4 months they want to release something. So in 3 months there will be the last episode of the current living story season. After 3-4 months (that’s what they are aiming for, ofc nothing guaranteed) they release the expansion, then after 3-4 months living story season 4 etc..

Really looking forward to it!

Legendary Armor: Feedback [merged]

So when I first saw the heavy legendary armor in the video I was kind of amazed how it looked and the animation you get when it transformed.
The opinion about the final armor didn’t change. The heavy armor is well done!

The light armor looked really bad in it’s precursor and preprecursor state. But I am now really pleased. The light armor in it’s final version looks really cool! Well done!

The medium armor….in it’s not final versions looked really ugly. From the trenchcoat to the helmet and shoulders. Actually everything except the pants, cause they look normal. The final version didn’t change that. It’s by far the most disappointing and ugly legendary armor there is. It looks similar to the arah dungeon set and is just plain ugly. To let the trenchcoat grow I don’t know what the makers were thinking knowing there are already so many trenchcoats. Doesn’t fit thieves and engis at all. The helmet should have closed in it’s transformed state with those metal bones on the armor, similar to the light armor. Would have saved a bit from that. The helmet is way too big. The trenchcoat is ugly and too big too. There is so many negative stuff to say. The only good piece is gloves and pants. Please make it so that wearing one piece of legendary armor you get the wing transform effect. It is currently tight to the chest, but please help those medium armor users to still have that effect. Cause a lot of us will not wear this ugly trenchcoat.

We are looking for 1-2 very experienced raiders for our core team. We would prefer a PS warrior, but if you play other classes and are very experienced, feel free to apply.

We do raids and fractals. No guild missions. Representing is not required. We do require that you are able to attend at least 2 of our raids per week (we raid 3-4 days/week around 20:00 CET).

We do have a trial — one raid with us + a golem DPS test so we can see you know your DPS rotations (quickness rotation for chrono).

So if you do the swamp fractal with herald and attack mossmann or bloomhunger the facets will IMMEDIATELY reset. you have to reactivate all facets literally every second second.

so someone did a better review about this bug.

Action Camera: Further Information

My question is similar to the last one, but not the same.
So teleport skills which needed a target (like guard sword 2, steal, infiltrator signet, infiltrator strike) can be used currently even if the target is not in line of sight – it will teleport you to this target (which doesnt need to be in los). Will I be able to use those skills on locked targets without having them in the crosshair? Or how will it work?

edit: second question
so with auto targeting on the system is more generous in aiming. but what happens if there are for example 5 mobs really close together and all the “auto targeting hitboxes” are on top of each other, can you nevertheless get your specific target (out of those 5). Do you need to preemptive lock your target?

I know there are bigger and more urgent problems out there for thieves/daredevils but that one nevertheless bothers me. and maybe there is a quick solution for this, so no dev needs to spend a lot of time for it.

if you use a physical skill on daredevil your weapon will just disappear and you see your character doing the animation. can we get, that the weapon will just get the default stow position on your character?

that would be way better.

i like the idea of dash getting the leap and bound the blast finisher, but all the different fields on staff would be too strong, especially the smoke one.
the playstyle would be indeed interesting though.

i dont see a future in condi thieves. no burning access.

until you need a lot of blasts/stealth or mobility (yea, actually thief is needed cause of shortbow) thieves wont be taken for an optimal raid.

we have to wait for the other bosses.

Condi dps with daredevil/trickery/acrobatic is superb. Runes of krait with dire stats with energy sigils for massive bleed stacks and superior survability just spaming death blosson and impaling lotus non endesly

or just take a sinister engineer which does way more condi dps?

Normal classes have 100 endurance, while Daredevils have 150. If these runes do return 100 endurance on heal, aren’t they bugged for everyone?

all these % from endurance on all different items needs to change the description – or grant it the % endurance which it promises. so 50% endurance gain for daredevil would be 75 endurance and not 50. so the sigill and the runes have to be changed, and maybe some other stuff too.

100% agree. dodge toggle + 3 new grandmaster traits. if not, i just want the explanation why thief gets the only elite spec with the mechanics in the grandmaster trait.
you just cant say that the mechanic is only the third dodge. its just not true. the mechanic is, that you can modify your dodge and have one more. period.

About the weapons on physical skills :
Is it possible to put the weapons in the stowed position during those animations ?
Having them disappear during those sequences make them feel incomplete.

A thought occurs to me.

IF: Chronomancers are going to be meta…
THEN: Alacrity needs to affect initiative gain.

I’m not sure if anyone has tested this yet, but it needs to be the case. The optimal PVE group will always contain a chronomancer for quickness and alacrity. For alacrity to be fair, it needs to affect Initiative.

daredevil feels better this time, fist flurry feels more rewarding and the dodging is way better (but the animations will hopefully change). the dash animation is the best of those three, but it would look better if your character is not frozen in midair. a little bit more movement would be nice.

i still think thief should get an F3 for swapping between dodges in combat with 10s CD and then get 3 grandmaster traits which helps to get those dodges better/benefit more. its like the only elite spec where the mechanic is hidden in the grandmaster trait.

the projectile reflect on the third auto attack feels wrong. you just cant really time it and its only by luck when you reflect something. so get the reflect maybe on weakening charge.

weakening charge feels better this time. but please add the damage numbers when you hit the same mobs, so you actually see how much damage you do (like hundred blades).

dust strike needs initiative lowered to 3 or to change to 180° cone or 360° blind. it just is plain bad and not useful.

vault's aftercast is way too long. you are already super vulnerable if you are in the air and then the rooting in the end. its too much. it needs an evade frame too.

the healskill is still on 2.25s but it was said it will went down to 0.75s, then its maybe okay.

is it intended, that bandits defence does NOT stunbreak if you are launched? otherwise please fix that bug. also, bandits defence needs a longer block duration. at least 2s.

the vault steal combo doesnt work every time, please fix that bug.

edit: forgot the traits. evasive empowerment is just plain bad. 2s is way to less time to have any impact on any skill. the time should be upped to 4s after each dodge to have impact.

can we get, the default stow position for the weapons on character while using physical skills? because right now they just disappear.

Discussion over. This spec is meta for a reason. It’s absolutely broken and thieves have nothing to complain about as long as they play this build. Why else is arenanet trying to nerf stealth builds so much?

actually you are wrong. d/p is not particular strong. its not bad. but the only thing which keeps the thief in meta is shortbow #5 – nothing else.

we first have to see how it looks and works in reality, but that sounds aweful. large aoe and short cd. thieves need something for that whole reveal to anything debacle.

still this skill sounds like it removes stealth from enemies without giving reveal debuff. but still thats a hugh hit depending on the aoe size and cd.

i only play zerker in pve as thief. but in bwe2 i tested condi daredevil with d/d, condi dodge and it was way easier to be alive during fights in verdant brink than with staff. but the fights took so long. i had a mix of rabid and rampager, cause there was no option for sinister.
the thing is condi thief is not “viable” in pve because you dont have access to burning, the broken condition. you just dont do enough condi damage.
so i suggest you go zerker.

vault is the hard hitting skill of the staff and it should stay that way. the 600 range leap is okay in my opinion.
i think the best way for vault would be to stay on 6 initiative cost and get an evade frame. the damage should stay as it is.
but please make that the steal+vault combo is working every time and not only occasionally!

Might want to tune down the damage of vault a bit jkjk

So basically you just dont dodge? You got hit from Vault 6 times, which makes it ~3600 damage per hit. Thats not a lot.

These thread is making me convinced to stay away from this expansion. These are not good feedback.

well, we can just hope our feedback, suggestions and uproar is enough to get the daredevil changed.
i see the biggest offender in the dodges and animations, followed by staffskills, utilities and traits have the least complaints.
