OP has no specific examples as to why he dislikes the aa, nor a suggestion of how to make it better. Thats what u need to give if u want change. Personally i like its current aa, esp the stab opener.

Once Im done with HoT zones itll be time to step into PvP, but I was wondering if anyone here would like to share their experiences so far with builds.

Im thinking a power rev with marauder amu, hoelbrak, shiro/herald, sw/s & hammer. Ret, deva, herald. A bruiser/mid&home support (or dueler?). With that build Im guessing ill be a bit limited when it comes to condis, only having infused light really to pop vs bomb/burn.

I tend to join lfgs with ‘exp’ or ‘fast’ as that should indicate the DPS. The guys op mentioned is a rare breed that would make anyone very upset. Theres still a high way from that to an elitist kitten

Lol nier u need to calm down.. i keep seeing u in threads bout how weak warrs r, how pathetic devs r, this fail expansion etc.. all this cuz ur beloved class isnt up to ur expectation. If u r led by anger ull get nowhere, and this is how metas shifts, nothing stays gold forever. We all can disagree with dev decisions at times but they have many more factors n variables to view something from

Id rather play against a DH than a burn guard, dont get why some peeps r just to quick to judge based on their one class they play. I can drop fast on a rev if i dont time infused light vs that burn stack

There are many who agree with you, and there has been quite a few threads and feedback about it. Those in charge def have seen that feedback, but I guess they chose to prioritize whats most important based on the time they had/have. One can only hope itll be revised if enough feedback is given. There are those who like the ground icon, but there should be a middle ground to appease the masses, like add more transparency to it for instance. That should take away much of the unneeded focus it draws in combat.

Do we know how often the chak gerent event spawns? Oh and i dislike the rev one shoulder side peice, ppl should try flame legion shoulder on full mistward, looks better

This skill must have a skill compontent with it. Please let revenant be hit and CC’d while using it. Now its just facerolling to win and doing 1 million damage done in every arena. Revenant has no weaknesses. Can you imagine ranger hitting Rapid Fire and being invulnerable every time he hits it? There is no counterplay to this skill. There is also one flawed mechanic that it always strikes from the back so it gets the life steal from the trait resulting in it being an invulnerability heal highest damage skill in the game. Please do something about it. The invulnerability is dumb and unskillful/ not fun to play against. Let the revenant be damaged and controled during the duration of this skill – this will make setups valulable and it’s not like you can stunbreak it everytime when the skill has 8 seconds of cooldown.

Power Revenant has weakness, that is condis. And youre suggesting making it more skillful by allowing the rev to be cced, but the rev loses control of his char during this animation and it would be like a free cc window, hows that skillful. You counter it with a cd as this game is about trading cooldowns wisely (and no dont double dodge 1 UA)

The fun was from spamming phase traversal on multiple target and having at least one mobility skill for long distance.
That’s one more PvP nerf killing PvE player.

At least put the 5s CD only in PvP or when targetting another player, we all know you can do that (I mean technically).

Shiro is far from useless, and we only notice that cd a little once energy starts dropping

I honestly dont get the infused light nerf. The heal mechanic already relies on a mechanic where ur opponent in most cases doesnt play optimal. Id rather see its mechanic reduced to its current 3 or 2s, while increasing the base heal, so that u have a lil skill factor involved timing it at the very right moment. At the same time this could hurt condi bombs though where u have to have some heal sustain during those previous 4 sec.

The game has been out for 3 yrs with tons of free content and probl the most user friendly cash shop in the industry (little to no p2w walls) and yet some find the need to comment and want more free stuff. And as above poster said, fractals was added after the core release.

I just made it to dragons stand n explored like 30% of it but there were none there other than solo ppl. Whats the rundown of this zone, is it in the name? Is it lots of exp to b made here once finished previous zones?

I was wondering if i could get some help with this quest, without adding spoilers. Basically Im supposed to find this charr lady by clicking/going near rocks she left as patterns, but while I was on this step i decided to do a world boss that popped up. Hours later I decided to continue this quest part, but now I dont have any green circle indicating where I should look for this rock/trail. Does anyone know how I can undo this? Or maybe theres a walkthrough somewhere, maybe a bit early but gotta try..

I joined a high lvl cliffside and they were struggling on the last encounter, whereas shiro jalis came in good use with jade winds as opener on mobs or rite of the great dwarf dmg reduction, this combo made those squishy cloth members stay alive

Or perhaps accept that this mmo is about playing most kinds of content to progress. Im not super hyped bout raids but i want leg armor so raids itll be!

Theres so much new done from systems to design decisions in this xpac compared to old gw2 that its a breath of fresh air.

Is it just me, or is the map quite empty. Im trying to grind (which im already not a fan of), but i only come across group events. But they are impossible or take forever if your alone. Actually the old game was boring cuz u could literarly facetank mobs pressing 1. Here u have to use ur abilities to overcome an encounter. As a zerker i was able to solo group events, sure the end boss was tough but not all is meant to be soloed in this game. Furthermore, the new zones look amazing, that in itself is fun, not boring

Just 3-5 decent counters that work against any other skill in the game except this. But the pvp and rev forums both say that it is completely balanced.

Your choices are stealth to break the channel or join the masses rerolling and pressing sw3 and shield 5 on cd to victory.

I just want to be able to USE OTHER WEAPONS. Sword and shield are IMPOSSIBLE for a power rev to give up, I wish I could actually use Staff/Hammer

Also the base damage is far FAR too high on Unrelenting, and pretty much ALL of the hammer skills honestly..

Then i suggest getting on ur rev and actually fight competent people on builds that have a clue and maybe get a different perspective

Its nice to see that hot mobs offer more challenge that could kill u. But if ur power based zerker is still the way in pve land, we have many non gear ways to clear packs of mobs and not being zerker will only lower ur dmg. Id rather kill a mob faster n use active defensives than kill it slower due to tanky gear

I haven’t used the herald trait line, so I haven’t seen the herald ground graphic yet. It sounds annoying though. I would ALSO like to disable that, but I’ll probably just not use the herald spec.

Many will though as its our main source of swiftness and not having to run traveler runes

I havent tried it but i heard using some of the axe offhand skills off cd also boosts the dmg, than just using sword autos?

Just wanted to chime in and express a thank you to Arenanet for a great starting experience in Hearth of Thorns! As an average-busy-family guy IRL I believe the direction you’re heading for is the right one in terms of general progression.

The story and cinematics are above living season 2, and the zones have graphical enhancements compared to vanilla Tyria. I have yet to try out WvW, but looking forward to leagues (shame no soloq though) and raids.

Also, I see quite a bit of negative feedback regarding “grind” and masteries. Some people are using the term grind wrongly, as we have lots of variations to gain experience for our masteries. Masteries is part of the journey, you can still partake in activities just that you have to be mindful of what you want to level first in order to do the activities you want faster.
Be mindful how you’re leveling (theres tons of boosters granding you 4-6k exp on yellow mobs for instance). Some things are not meant to happen NOW, think back the last 6 months, we had no updates, nothing, and now we have enough content and more to come for the next 6 months and beyond. Play the game at your own casual phase!

So instead of having to do 4 fracs for 45 min we only need to do one, for potentially 10 mins only and get same reward or better? (But u can only do this once per day?). If so then thats a forgiving change

Mmorpgs are large project, things doesnt always happen on set dates, but at least theyre being more open on whats to come, while they also have to factor in other variables making them hold on information.
If u truly enjoy gw2 then itll be a big loss for u in quitting, dont be random.

I dont think the enemy.has to be unskilled but generally when average+ solo players have little coordination/doesnt support each other, theyre easy targets to pick off and trafitional lb ranger has that range with possibly no downtime on damage. In a larger onpoint fight, if only one or two decide to go outside point after a ranger theyre also leaving some room for ranger team/less pressure on point, which sometimes means a point loss when chased ranger keeps up, just as an example.

But I havent really had this exp tho that the more rangers the higher win, pure random here.

My god this thread shows the dark side of the playerbase, a creation made by Anets casual philosphy over the years. People are really putting the term grind to use. Why not just enjoy the game, theres no new levels, no new gear tier. I do agree that masteries have lots of exp required, but remains to be tested further.

I wouldnt mind waypoints being account bound, but the rest not since its good to have some char specifics in a game with alot of account friendly systems

Sword offhand being inferior to shield is what made me craft flameseeker prophecies, hopefully a fix would be delayed

Because thieves are nuthin but beggars and cutthroats that gets hit by karma. Keep doing what you’re good at which is stealing and stealthing, then let the real assassins do their work.

On a side note, it’s assassin stance because that is who Shiro Tagachi was, and we.. err the revenant channel his legend.

I have a feeling HoT release date was set due to Halloween, to possibly spread players out a bit across maps and make it more smooth for servers, instead of all rushing to maguuma. What ya think? Only downside for many is that HoT will be prioritized which can leave Halloween more in the shadow.
