So I’ve decided to see if I can really boost my build so that it stacks a bit more might (not looking to just stand around tossing things until it reachs 25) and I’d like to know your opinions.
Right now I have 5 points in the slot that gives vuln per bomb crit. I use the bomb kit I hate grenades (until they fixem) because I noticed that grenades tend to have a vuln per grenade, where there’s only 1 bomb and 3 grenades so of course the stacking is better with nades. (something I hope they look into) and I’d like to enhance my elixirs a bit more to give myself some means of taking off conditions (especially with the new rework of the old CC crap in Orr where they stop you every second AGAIN sigh).
So which is better?
Vulnerability? or Might?
Just checked the announcements no patch no forum announcement.
Remember the Mad King’s Clock Tower? That’s the way to reward people… Imagine if the chest a the top rewarded one of the dragon weapon skins… I’d be ok if you could only do it once per account. Right now, getting a weapon skin all about luck.
You would get a storm of protest from the 9/10 who couldn’t do it…
A lot of people would quit with GW2 being renamed Jump Wars 2…
Because the game is already dubbed Daily Wars 2, or Grind Wars 2.
I am having a hard time understanding the logic behind rng boxes. Do the devs sit around a conference room and say “Hmm, this is such a success. they love RNG boxes”.
By a small minority of disenchanted people, not by any majority. Sure on the forums like a half a dozen guys have dubbed it that. But it’s no where near the grind of most MMOs and the dailies aren’t as bad as most MMOs, so it’s not a big deal.
It would be if it were true, I suppose. Glad it isn’t.
In game map chat says otherwise. Not all people who complain about the game come to the forums some complain in public chat rooms and on other websites. Calling it a minority just because of the few that come here doesn’t discredit that they’re right anymore then not being a game designer means you can’t possibly understand what’s going on in that same process or realize just what’s possibly happening behind the scenes. The prerequisite for arguments requiring the majority or requiring expertise is a strawman designed to take away from the truth of the matters at hand in everything.
I call it a minority because people complain more than they compliment. A perfect example is the forums I used to moderate.
There were half a dozen REALLY negative people there (this was before November) and they drove all the people that liked the game out. Many of those people ended up in my guild and most of them still play.
The point is, 6 idiots drove out 50-60 people who liked the game.
People who are enjoying themselves aren’t mostly like me. This sort of stuff annoys them and they avoid it. But since only a handful of people can prevent a lot of people form talking (as I’ve seen first head) talking in game is as meaningless as talking here.
I know a whole lot of people who leave map chat off because there are too many people in map chat they’d rather not listen to.
I also find it amazing that just because people sound negative alot about something that somehow makes them wrong. It’s not wrong to expect what you paid for in any sense of the word. Those people who complained could have just been repeating the things they noticed that someone else mentioned first. It happens all the time.
Someone mentions the gas prices and others chime in. People who stop using gasoline aren’t necessarily worse off in their daily lives or find alternatives that do make them happier.
There’s going to be loss in this field especially when there were prelaunch promises that were put on indefinitely hold, that’s no secret and it’s not going away until something’s done. People don’t like being told 1 thing and then discovering that what they paid for was something entirely different. That’s just the way of consumerism.
sigh “The Community” is not necessarily represented on these forums. That’s not to say that forums are useless, but I’d think any devs who actually acted on most of the crap spouted in forums would be in real trouble.
In actual fact, only a very few regular forum users are usually worth listening to – those who do number crunching and have rational arguments. The rest is just junk – people looking at a whole game from their own myopikittentle corner, having tantrums because devs don’t listen to their special snowflake point of view.
Doesn’t mean that some of the arguments are wrong just because they don’t have math to back it up. Perception in the customer service world is everything, remember that.
If the game is perceived as being lopsided, unfair, or grindy, than they have to treat those reports as serious because it is a product after all whether other players agree with these people or not.
I know they play their game. But do they have enough people playing the classes with the most trouble in the live environment to see the problems? Do they have enough people playing the most OP class in that same environment to see why people are complaining about the PVE imbalance in the builds that people are complaining about? Do they play doing the things that the players have done who have experienced these problems not necessarily on their own accounts but on their test accounts?
For example, how many Dev builds in PVE are condition damage builds who play the three weakest classes in the game? That’s the question of the day imo. How many are playing support roles in dungeons?

(…) Aion (…) launched with so many bugs, they were virtually unplayable.
Wait, what? You must be talking about a different game or you played in the betas somehow.
Much more interestingly, it came out with level cap at 45 only despite OBVIOUSLY the cap was meant to be 50. Visible because you could actually loot and buy items that required level 50, you could see the skills for level 50, there was an instance that was practically impossible to finish because the last boss was meant for level 50 players etc… :p And shortly after the game release came the first “expansion pack” that added the missing high level zone and unlocked the level cap.
You’re right Aion can in no way compare to something like Warhammer Online as far as bugs. However, a ton of people left Aion very quickly because there weren’t enough quests to level you to get to where you needed to go.
People had to grind bosses over and over again to level high enough to get to the PvP end. And if you didn’t PvP, you were totally screwed. And there were some major bugs on the Asian release as well, but nothing like the bugs that occured in Warhammer.
I probably meant a different game than Aion when I was typing (I often type fast and don’t recheck my posts), but at this point I have no idea which game I meant.
Regardless, a lot of people left Aion very quickly due to lack of content, one of the things on my list of deficiencies in a new game. Basically you can’t have it all…you have to skimp somewhere and hope to catch up after launch. That’s what I’m saying.
Edit: I think I was probably going to type AoC not Aion. Sorry for that.
I left Aion quickly not because of the lack of quests but for the same reason why I can’t complete the world exploration achievement in this game. Forced PVP. When we make the argument that the statement “play the way you want” is false, this is one of the pieces of the puzzle that makes that statement false.
If it were truly that way then a typically PVE only process, exploration, would be PVE only.
Also just like Aion this game seems to be waiting for an expansion before it’s releasing something essential to all games, a kitchen sink ui update to bring it up to date with modern times. Are they waiting for Wildstar to be released or something before we see dual spec, outfitter, lfg, guild perks etc etc?

I do believe he’s talking PVE and I wholeheartedly agree.
Not only are they weak and the crit doesn’t do much with the dmg output but they also aren’t equal. my zerker crit build thief does significantly more per bleed damage then my condition engineer.
Remember when poisoning used to actually matter and when it was deadly?
The current RNG system is from 1999, the problems we’re seeing are at least a decade old in mmo terms and these very same problems are the key reason why other mmo’s got rid of these systems a long long time ago so players could actually fulfill goals.
The guild system doesn’t work well in this game either, the currency for guild items should come from every activity not just those done with guildies unless Anet is going to start paying players to be online and available for guild events 24/7. It’s why guild currencies in other games comes from activities one can jump on do in a LFG setting and then jump off.
I’d like it to return as well.
What exactly is the criticism here? That ANet went overboard in their quest to make the interface easy to use?
Yeah we could be having autoloot, true autoloot.
also there’s a ton of elements left out like dual spec, outfitter, buttons for minis and boons foods, a LFG tool even for the open world event system, a map that shows us events in the zone we’re in without being 5 feet from those events.
Anyone notice this trend? Everytime there is a new piece of achievement to be had, it’s something like
“press F on X 100 times to win!”
or
“press F to win”
How about real gameplay design? Something more than press F to win?
Sometimes, not everything has to be earned through challenges but patience, endurance and hardship which are as equally important.
They nerfed endurance in the last patch and patience didn’t do enough PVE damage unless you are using it on the warrior class.
It’s not easier it’s just you’re compromising for the lack of UI options. This game needs a dual spec/Outfitter interface badly.
O.o 0 comments on engineer? the most gimpt class in the PVE game right now? seriously. Sure they’ve had some buffs and trait fixes but absolutely nothing on the scale of what warriors/guardians/or even elementalists find. There’s not fluidity when it comes to boons and boon building is limited to two types of cookie cutter builds (Elixir/FT) Nothing like my thief, and that’s another thing can we get a clear answer on just what the engineer is, is it an adventurer class (which is not evidently according to how it’s traits are laid out) or is it a soldier class? Please I’d like a response.
Spot on on the rest of the stuff tho. Especially the part about bosses/champions and how they make CC/condi worthless. One thing missing tho. The support classes. There’s no direct healing to speak of. There’s AOE’s that drop on the ground but here’s the problem with that. the AI of the bosses/champs know exactly where that is the instant it happens and about 85% of the time drop their own AOE damage zones right on top of it immediately. I’ve personally witnessed this in dungeons. If support is to be viable they need a direct heal or this AI needs to change so they don’t make those AOE zones useless immediately after dropping one.
Crossover between the Engi balance problems and support problems, we need fewer regens I’d suggest returning the AOE healing zone to EG in kit refinement and/or adding a direct heal to fumigate.
I think mine pretty much does. The classes I’ve chosen in all games have either been support or tricksters. It’s how I played ADnD when I was in high school and college. My priests were always some combination of both. I even had what we’d call a monk at one point however this guy swore, got drunk all the time, and had thief like skills (hide in shadows, move silently) even tho he was a holy man in the Asian campaign.
I play an engineer, a thief and I would have played a mesmer if their spells weren’t so weird and loud. I like the spells they have later on just hate having a limited run speed boon and having to wait thru all of those levels to get to the good spells.
I would try to guardian but like that’s the second most played PVE class in the game I think behind warriors so. I prefer underdogs or things most people don’t like to play.
I understand why they get frustrated when people start fighting the grub instead of the real enemy. Especially when invaders are putting the pressure on and find yourself on the defensive. There is a time to fool around with the Champs, just not while you are outnumbered and losing ground, or trying to take SM. I don’t agree with a Commander putting down people because they are wasting time on a PvE Champ. It is not a good way to earn the respect of your troops, there are ways to let people know that it is not the time to PvE Champs without putting them down.
That’s the real problem with commander status really, no one earns that the honest way they get it thru money.
As we can see, about everyone is tired of the kitten temp content just so they can profit off of rng from cash shop. You notice how there is always a new set of rng box release along set with temp content.

Those threads could use your input.
Yep, threads all over the place about these subjects which already have devs answers in them. I don’t go to reddit and even I can see the responses they’ve given about the changes they are making to the game one of which is including the dungeons for the LS content into Fractals so that anyone can go back and experience the content again.
What I like about Rift is slightly different then what you like altho events were one of them:
- I do however love the AA system they expanded upon it when I left.
- Saboteur class can throw AOE bombs and doesn’t have to press the same button more than three times for a setup BOOM! (ahem Engineer Grenade kit could learn from this example)
- Mobile Apps
- Lottery Mobile apps that give gear currency and end game crafting currency as rewards.
- Fishing (with everything)
- Trinity (definitely the best healing classes even ones that heal while attacking and doing damage)
- The autogroup event feature. (no more clicking on someone and trying to party up in Orr)
- Planar Attunement (post max level advancement)
- The amount of choices per class. (Every class can truly perform every role in that game. Rogue Tanks anyone?)
- the NonFreemium model of shops. (requiring a sub for anything)
- Advanced Housing (also another I agree with you on)
And finally one of the best things is the closeness of the Devs to the customers asking them what they want in the game and delivering it ever single time, they’ve shown that delay tactics, low quantity content, extreme content bulge when it comes to the economy doesn’t have to belong in the games anymore. I feel they are truly keeping up with the times.’
What I like about GW2 (Oops)
- The landscape is beautiful, the most beautiful game I’ve seen actually complete with atmospherics.
- Karma for armor sets
- Speedy Crafting of refined materials the more you make
- Armor and Weapons look great
- Cities
- downscaling
- Combat Zone combos
- Hybrid Targeting (i hate NW for this right now, no mouse just a target circle in the middle)
- Race Lore
- The unique combat between the classes (one of the ways Rift has made a deal with the devil so to speak to make their class system work is to make certain class roles act the same in certain ways, you can go thru and see this in their setup, GW2 not so much the only similarity I’ve see is how they use the #1 skills too much with bows and shortbow. My combat on my engi is nothing like it is on my thief.)

Trust me I am the loudest and most annoying person posting on these forums when I see an injustice about something but I really don’t see this being a problem. Sure some items drop 0 I’ve not had huge numbers of salvages drop nothing out of 20 I only had 2 drops of 0 recently and I’ve got the single worst luck then the lot of you on anything lootwise.
It’s true that Anet probably doesn’t control their economy but I’m resolved to wait until they do their rewards revamp patch to pass judgement. It could be that we’ll see some great solutions to our problems coming up. I’m stuggling with waiting too believe me but we do have to wait and see, don’t we?
Anyone else scared of the new updates? And by that I mean the new skins/armor that gets pinged in LA. I’m afraid that anet will lock them up into more RNG boxes only available @ the gem store =/ I don’t mind though if it’ll be like the rox stuff where you can buy it on the fly. but I’m getting really tired with the RNG boxes, so much so that I do NOT want any more new skins coz I’ll just get disappointed with either
1.) so few people getting them
2.) me not getting themWhen I saw the chest burster sclerite weap, I knew I just had to have it. Then when I saw the abysmal droprate of the skin, I resigned myself into not getting it. Now that the steampunk weaps/armor are gonna be here soon, I’m afraid I’m setting myself up for more disappointment =/
I’m kind of scared about what they plan on doing with the new steampunk skins.
Seriously. And this is besides the point of making the leather ones look awful compared to the heavy armor version.
For real real. Engis would like to be made heavy armor if for no other purpose then getting what we deserve by default, the better looking steampunk armor. kay kay?!
LOL
I have 5 different toons and WvW regularly, both roaming and zerging … there is not a single toon I have where I cannot keep at least 25% movement speed up (and with many, perma-swiftness at +33% speed). The only thing my suggestion would provide is my NOT having to (for example) endlessly switch kits on my engineer to achieve it, or the constant weapon flipping on my warrior, or the … ect. The suggestion of an OUT-of-combat speed booster option provides ONLY convenience, and zero in-combat advantage.
If they picked a utility like say Rocket Boots or Slick Shoes we’d finally be able to get rid of that madatory speedy kit requirement just to move around the world.
Nope they just need to make a compromise for the no mounts thing and make it a skill for every class pick a utility and put it on there it’s ridiculous not to at this point honestly.
They did it for rangers they might as well do it for us all.
Race Change please!
Please make a way to mute, ignore, or block the people that stand around at spam the 1 button one their new horn or bell. There are very few options to get rid of that annoying sound. You could move, but if you are by the bank, that requires going to another town. You could turn your sound down, but then you cant hear anything else. If you put them on the block list, it does nothing. So pretty much, there is no easy way to make the noise go away.
There’s actually alot of spells and abilities that are WAY too loud on this game. I refuse to play a mesmer or a necro for just this reason, they are loud coming off of the necro mobs in Orr even. I can understand giving them a unique sound but much like the gun shot sound in WoW on Hunters this is fast becoming one of the legendary joke moments of GW2.
Completely ignoring the fact that you’re a p/d thief asking for gear that suits your condi build better…..
I.E. I would love to drop the power stat as it is pretty awful as condi spec and replace it with toughness.
You realize power increases your condition damage as well, right?
Are you sure about the power thing? Because my Thief’s bleeds do about 30 more hitpoints per second than my engineer does and my thief has zerker gear my engi uses rampager so there’s something not right here in the numbers. Both sets have power precision but my engi’s armor has power precision condi damage.
Actually until they add some function for guild leaders and guild officers to have an icon similar to that for when they are doing guild events and or handling explorations of the maps for new players, they need to leave this on there.
We need a solution before they take this out of the PVE zones.
Even if they instanced them it would be a huge improvement. NCsoft should send them the money they need for this right away.
It’s weird to me that they don’t have certain things available for dyes.
like backpacks, engineer kit packs, weapons, tattoos it’s all very odd.
Mounts would be such a great thing, I think tho as a compromise they should give players of each class 1 type of utility skill that allows players to run at 25% run speed when out of combat that way players won’t have to use quickness in their builds to move around the map normally.
It would solve alot of problems especially with their current design for champion/veteran events some people just don’t make it there in time to even get copper completion.
Out of 700,000 players, I am the only one that wants this?
Sad
No, of course not. this has been asked for repeatedly for a very long time, just go through suggestion history. I myself have posted about it twice I think. Never hurts to remind them of it though, so here is my support for a small consumables/mini action bar either off to the side somewhere or moveable around the screen. Please and TY.
Yep It’s been part of my suggestions too, long ago They really just need one big Kitchen Sink UI patch one of these months to improve the overall gameplay of the game. I’ve been waiting for one for some time now, most MMOs have theirs out before their 1 yr anniversary.
Oddly hardly anyone’s posted on my post to keep the thread alive even tho people that I’ve disagreed with in the past have even said they liked what I proposed.
I run and jump and try to do some weird body position before slowly fading.
RNG boxes aren’t going anywhere folks, all of the nonsub games are doing those now and yes they will improve slightly the drops from the ones you can get in the game but they will never go away because all of the nonsub games are doing it and it’s a proven method of making money.
the real concern comes from whether they’ll pour that money back into this game instead of the others under NCsoft’s belt.

I’m not talking about wrongfully casting a skill out of reflex… I’m talking about a dev SPAMMING (this is an important piece of my point) a poison field on a gate. By that I mean he repeatedly used the skill and targetted it at the gate using ground targetting. I don’t see why you’re not getting how depressing that behavior is.
Also, he wasn’t dead tired or on meds, he was streaming a live dev stream and talking about how they were doing.
There’s also a video of a group of 5 devs doing the molten facility dungeon and killing trash mobs slower than Wethospu, who solo’ed them. While saying “we’re doing quite well”. Do you know which devs were in the team? The guys that designed the dungeon. Yes, the guys that spent probably a couple of weeks designing a dungeon were outdone by a guy who had his hands on it for a couple of days.
I’m not asking that every dev is able to solo lupi or know all the traits or something unrealistic… But it would be nice if they weren’t so depressingly terrible at their own game.
Uhm do you have links to this because now I’m curious!
This weapon does need improvement all around.
The speed is as slow as the rifle.
Both weapons don’t fire in sequence just 1 at a time when you are using P/P
And the #2 Poison Dart Volley has been a thorn in my side for almost a year now where shots just inexplicably miss at level 80 in full gear.
I personally would love an explanation on this from the balance team. Why is our Poison Dart Volley not like the Warrior Rifle Skill Volley where every shot hits?
In fact I’d like to know why there’s a ton of skills that just don’t function away the other classes function.
FT Napalm =/= Ele Flame Wall
FT Smoke Vent =/= Black Powder
I could go on. Is it me or does it seem like there’s a lack of focus on this class when it comes to skills? Too much RNG not enough direct things to count on. It’s like the acidic elixirs why not make them act similarly to the Skelk Acid AOE zone? And tossing elixirs why not make the ones that do boons do 1 boon every time and the rest of them be optional? Like Elixir B why not make it do Retaliation as a constant and the rest of the boons as optional?
I just wonder sometimes why certain things weren’t done.
(edited by tigirius.9014)
Well I was told it was 0-3 per item last time I checked. If that’s true then we’re bound to have some items drop nothing. My other thought was does mf help this in any way?
I don’t play engineer but I see the problem. All the kits and stuff engineers have should be different when you equip a legendary weapon. Maybe some are already?
Also I personally wouldn’t even make a legendary for an engineer because:
The Predator – clearly made for warriors, it has a scope, engineers shoot from hip
The Flameseeker Prophecies – cool shield, but whoever made this had a guardian in mind
Quip – a joke^This.
I’m going for a legendary now to just because i like the looks of the predator (+i want a completed login screen..)
only thin i realy hate is that the only full ranged thing engineers have are grenades and pistol (and not pistol/pistol).
And don’t tell us that the rifle is long range cause realy… 4/5 are close ranged. This is the “shotgun way” of using a rifle.Cmon… Why give engineers a shotgun play style while giving warriors a sniper way of living? Warriors are Heavy armor, highest HP. And what do they get : Bam! Long ranged sniper setup and kiting possibility (knock back on 5, and cripple)
You would expect a warrior to go shotgun playstyle…
Only reason i hate going for the predator is that i’m using a sniper rifle as a shotgun. And only my 1 skill has the animation on it.
For the time i’m in my Rifle… Cause i tend to be a kit using engineer and i discuss, realy, i hate grenades. Used it for a long time and the only thing i can say is that the 1 button on my razer naga has weared of and my thumb has some weird looking button mark in it….
Agree totally. We should have the sniper style weapon. We should also have a much longer range with our gun and if they aren’t planning on fixing the jumpshot they should just remove it entirely so we can have a big shot that works well in a pinch.
And while they have engis under the knife, how about giving us back our heavy armor because they sure aren’t changing our traits to match those of our brother classes (adventurer classes ranger/thief) which are built for burst DPS unlike the engineer hybrid without a burst option in traits.
As a long time WoW player I can say that no you are wrong on many levels.
Altho Blizzard didn’t listen to what we wanted on the Engineer profession for years (until most recently in their previous expansion) and they didn’t listen to us on how to handle the balance thing so it wouldn’t affect PVE, they did a TON of stuff that we did request over the years.
Transmog, pet redesign for hunters, currency for dungeons, less speshal crafting items from dungeons, raid finder, the list is long for things we did want and didn’t want to hassle with.
GW2 isn’t living up to it’s prelaunch promises so far. (I say so far because they haven’t done a kitchen sink or rewards revamp update yet so I’m waiting to see what that is exactly) it’s not just the manifesto we’re talking about when we say that, we’re talking about 7 years of game design and content patch promises here.
For one thing, originally all gear was supposed to be cosmetic only. no stats of any kind, no power creep of any kind. They changed that months before getting to the closed beta stage. That’s an example of what we’re talking about. What happened?
More importantly what happened in November? It’s no secret that they suddenly became dungeon focused about that time and abandoned the open world until enough of us complained long enough they decided to do LS, and some of us rightly believe to this day that LS was just an appeasement.
One of the videos talks about how our actions matter, they don’t they are just all on timers. Another talks about how we swing our sword and we swing it again how boring is that well, #1 skills seem to be the most important skills the rest of the skills don’t do enough damage to compensate and often don’t matter so we use the #1 skills the most. Or sometimes the #1 skills are weak and the rest of the skills in that same weapon don’t do much of any damage at all or have a tremendous cooldown on them so we’re stuck with a gimpt system of fighting (like the longbow on the ranger only useful for the AOE attack and nothing else).
Anyways all we want is for them to do what they said they’d do in the countless footage of prelaunch videos when they talked about how open world PVE content was fast easy cheaper than any dungeon design so why haven’t we seen more than the LS content? you have to wonder that yourself don’t you?
They are also using the same tactics that Sub only games have used for years, progress delays. It’s definitely not Alt friendly at ALL. The same exact cost per toon for gear, the laurel daily being 1 per account, no options for runes/sigils from Karma, no heirloom gear to help people level alts faster.
The gear grind is alive and well trust me.
(edited by tigirius.9014)
Nope even when the engi class was extremely bad I was still playing it 28 grenades per mob and all.
Not one to bounce around.
Yea I’ve seen Anet logos on people’s nametags running thru LA at times so I know they definitely play on live.
I do however agree that there’s not enough playing to see the real results of their work. There’s certainly not enough to see the lopsided loot problem. And all one has to do is head on over the Engineer forums to see that there’s definitely not enough advocates for the Engineer on the PVE side of things. So they are missing a couple of things when they check out the live game I’m sure.
Sub basement storage outside of normal storage for items that were never meant to clutter the bank or regular bags
Reusable Mini pet food leashes treats and cleaning supplies
Gold Nugget (wear as an accessory to gain more silver from mobs)
Watering Can (earn more plants from plant nodes)
Endless wood axe
Fishing poles and accessories (when added) (like the picnic basket, parasol, overall outfit, typically sea/pirate pets)
the Loot-a-rang (or something similar) I miss mine soooo much!
Race Change
Racial Main City Teleport Device
Guild Pet (vendor for karma items/tools/and salvage kits)
Multiple Armor/Weapon direct sets from the previous game
Moods (emotes that express moods when people enter the area or interact with you.)
The rifle is definitely not complete LOL that thing looked all weird and wonky.
I do like the pistols and the shield tho, the shield is a nice change from the norm. It’s not quite a giant gear but it’s mechanical enough.
Yeah I agree there’s a problem with dual pistols too, no option of offhand from what I can tell (as someone who switches from P/P to P/S often on his engineer for MF armor).
- Male norns are way too fat, their shoulders are much wider than their legs are long — as far as I’m concerned, they’re ogres, not norn! (Nothing against fat people, but this is a fantasy game hero… they shouldn’t be 900 lbs obese. A few extra pounds, sure, but obese beyond obese? )
Norns are anything but obese.
You can fool yourself all you want.
You should learn to make the difference between physically strong and a fat person.
You can be both strong and obese: sumo wrestlers. Doesn’t mean they’re not obese.
Are you sayng that norns look like sumo wrestlers?
Norns are muscular, not fat, not obese.
For what it’s worth Funset I know exactly what you mean. In my subsection of RL society we call these guys bears and generally they are muscular with some of what we call beer fat on them, and they have the thickness thing going without trying and most of it is muscle. That’s how Norn are imo. Obese is like those people who need a crane or surgery to be removed from their home when they have a stroke, there’s a very clear difference. Now, having body fat on a thick frame doesn’t mean someone’s unhealthy either that’s why they decided to forego the old system of simple weight measurements and use the Body Index values instead because frames are important and muscle weighs more then fat does.
Based on responses I’m not sure some of you read my post past the first paragraph….I’m agreeing with you, thus the:
“The one thing that’s really missing is the rewards to help make playing in these locations more even exciting and rewarding than they are now.”
And no, we’re not putting in a new currency, we have plenty of those
Well I definitely read it and find it full of hope. If indeed we receive relevant rewards for our time killing champions and veterans in the 30+ areas and you guys are making the blue and green items we find in the open world have new value (which I assume means a change in salvaging) that would certainly be a welcome change as most people don’t bother to salvage greens and the salvages from blue items even with the BLTC kits don’t offer anything better.
I hope salvaging blues and greens improves, it would make sense. I’d also love to see the chests from Champs to not be the kind that shows up on the ground but are more like the ones that popup from daily completion, or boss kills on the right side of the ui. That to me would be an improvement because I generally get the best loot from those with this persistant DR problem I keep having with the standard loot tables.
@Marcus Greythorne
Their direction actually hasn’t changed in the rewards it’s changing in where to get those rewards. It appears they are doing what we thought they’d do from the beginning and focus the most on open world rather then dungeons and that’s a great sign imo! It will take the focus off of the things that some of us feel should have never been placed in the game in the first place.
I only hope that while making these changes they find a way of fixing whatever is wrong with the algorithm because I’d hate to see these changes come about and then suddenly the drop rates of greens and blues fall into this pit of permaDR or whatever is happening with some of our accounts where we have to have 300% or higher MF just to get something to drop.

I think it’s premature to worry about ascended weapons/armor. I predict that’s something they’ll release in another year (if they release it at all. I’m not holding my breath though. I’d rather they release new armor skins).
The devs already said that the full ascended set, including full armor and weapons, will be introduced before the end of this year.
The devs also said there wouldn’t be vertical progression in this game. Why are you believing them now. lol
They said that at launch, but in November they also said that content would be gated only for those with agony resistance. That’s vertical progression if I’ve ever seen it, and I have.
According to one of my friends that played GW1 avidly and is also a ST fan, not having Cantha in this game would be the equivalent of not having the Klingon Faction in ST. It’s unforgivable in his opinion.
RNG everything is pretty much a thing of the past like from 1999 past yeah know doing that in the early development of the mmo’s was fine because no one found another way of controlling loot progression.
Now it’s a seriously ancient in terms of mmo’s and gaming. (not talking the boxes, I’m talking about the loot problems.)
None of them because as an engineer I rarely use my main weapons and the one pistol they have is horrible looking imo, a plant like toy ray gun that shoots red ray beam bullets not my idea of the best weapon for my armor set but than again it might just match my hobo packs.
I simply stopped playing except to log in and do seasonal events. I just want to play, but unfortunately the only rewarding activity left is standing afk for 20 minutes, fight a meta event for 1 minute and repeat. The only farming the devs seem to encourage is where you literally do nothing 90% of the time.
Every area that you run around, constantly fight and have fun has been crushed beneath reduced loot enemies and super buffs that are just stupid.
My afk standing pattern is usually alot longer, this waiting for a dragon to show thing is for the birds imo!
The recent ones haven’t done much to me since I am on the low end of receiving anything all the time anyways. So I just log in to do my daily for the point and the jar of karma juice waiting for the rewards rework patch to see what they do next. If it’s hoaky and it’s evidence that they didn’t really learn anything then I’ll be gone much to so many forum poster’s delight I’m sure.
It all depends on what they do next. I’ve also been waiting to see if they are going to do a kitchen sink update to their UI using many of the posts I and others like me posted in the suggestions forum a long long time ago. Maybe they’ll combine them but if they just let it all go and not do a thing there’s no reason for people like us to stay hoping they’ll do something so….
