I love some of the new faces. I haven’t had a go yet but one of my Acura might score a facelift.
The second one of yours looks very lifelike Naus, the art team has done wonders!

You might want to go through them and write it all down. A notebook can be pretty handy in this game.

Then you aren’t going to the right places. Have you been to Lions Arch yet?
Would you like some hard cheeze with your sad whine?
What Fernling said. I’ve been meeting new players over the last week or so, so some people are coming in. Obviously other people will drop out for whatever reason. I feel that the game is just chugging along.

Are you sure you solved all the puzzles non-violently? I ask because a lot of people on map chat were saying the same thing but had missed one – usually the clockwork one it seemed.
Yep, you’re on the money. I was doing the same thing over and over again thinking it was correct. Watchknights, still causing trouble!

Nice answers so far.
I do know most ppl will be biased towards their mains but what I want is more like a number comparison.
As it stands it also seems that there are quite a lot of rangers and most are playing their class narrow-mindedly, wich imo may make other players question themselves wether they want a ranger or not in their dung…
Pet using classes, and anything called Ranger, seem to have a horrible reputation in just about any mmo I’ve ever played. Plus rangers who only use a longbow and use #4 on mobs while melees are beating on them don’t do much for the general reputation either.
Would you like some hard cheeze with your sad whine?
Ranger is fine for open world pve. People seem to forget that the pet is a weapon. Pets can be fiddley though in a dungeon situation and in heavy aoe they don’t last long unfortunately.
Engineers are a different fun. They can be pretty decent for crowd control and the kits are good for area damage. Turrets are good for attracting the attention of mobs but, like ranger pets, they won’t stand up very well in a dungeon against a mass of mobs. From memory anyway since I haven’t taken an engineer into a dungeon since February.
Both classes are great underwater.

I’ve had to use lowest settings since the Tower of Nightmares update finished. I was crashing left, right and centre until I did it. I’ve also got an ATI card. I might get myself an Invidia card for Christmas.
Would you like some hard cheeze with your sad whine?
Same thing for me. I wrecked it the first time I did it by leaving the wrong way so I was thinking that was my problem but maybe not now.
Would you like some hard cheeze with your sad whine?
Grats!
I’ve been doing these since the beginning of the Living Stories and I still don’t know what Scarlet’s deal is. Only a few to go so hopefully we’ll learn something soonish. If you’re still playing next year then you’ll be on top of the next series of Stories.
And, yeah, it is a nice cutscene.
Would you like some hard cheeze with your sad whine?
Yes, you’re supposed to be there. The NPCs are ongoing through a few Living Stories now so if you’re new then you wont know them. Doesn’t matter, now you do.
Were you able to figure out the instance in the end?

Cya Galtrix, happy travels.
If you tack on the other months you haven’t played how long will it really be?
It would probably be about 2 years and 4-5 months. But then again, a lot of stuff can be added in a couple years that I might really enjoy doing. I hope that’s the case.
In which case, I hope its permanent content so you have a chance to enjoy it!

Wow really people lol. I make a point about me and this game and you all act like stuck up kitten holes. I asked a legit question. So bite me.
It’s less that you asked a ‘legit question’ and more the way you put it.
Nobody is saying you should drop your life, your savings or anything else for this game or any other.
The fact that you used hyperbole like that to suggest that such a thing would be at all necessary, opened the door for the following comments, regardless if they were warranted or not.(Now, for some amusement, what voice do you suppose would fit with my above statement? I honestly hear it in the voice of Tuvok from Star Trek: Voyager.
Anyone else with something different?)
Eir, I reckon.

The only collectibles that ever go above 250 for me would be bloodstone and empyreal. So to me this is pretty much equivalent to saving 2 bank spaces for 800 gems. I’mma have to pass.
Do people really stack that many materials?
Yes.
Would you like some hard cheeze with your sad whine?
LOL!
Well, that solves that.

I have played most MMO’s since EQ and the last time I had this kind of fun was back in DAoC – although GW2 would win for me even if DAoC was technically up to date. This is the best MMO I have ever played and also the best game in general I have ever played. In daoc I got one toon to max level but it took me a while. Since then GW2 is the first game where I have reached max level before being bored silly. I have always wanted to enjoy MMO’s as the concept is amazing. In GW2 I have 2 lvl 80, two lvl 70+ and a few alts between 20 and 30. GW2 is the first MMO where I actually enjoy the game itself and not just play for the next little virtual reward until I can’t be kitten d.
You clearly never played DAOC… I mean, would really compare wuvwuv Player vs Door to Realm vs Realm?
I compare wvw more the Daoc battlefields. Its not a patch on the Frontier.
Its still fun though.

But are you going to continue to defend this flaw by saying “oh but other games have that same issue as well!”
Come on. Just because other MMOs do this same bad design, doesnt mean it cant be fixed and improved to get rid of that flaw.
Yes other games have Level grinds, but I dont like it there either. Think I only complained about boring leveling in GW2? When something like leveling is boring and grindy for the sake of being a grind, I call it out in any MMO I play. Including this game, because I want more fun, not more non fun.
So you’re likely to whine about every game? Maybe you should look into other forms of entertainment.
Complain about flaw design? Yes. Because its flawed. even others that defended this dont seem to realize they are admitting this flaw exist both in this game and others.
why hold on to flaws instead of trying to rid them?
Why play something that frustrates you so much?

The issue isn’t so much the armor itself, but the rating of the game and the armor’s place in that said rating.
As in, that armor could sear the eyeballs of some poor innocent chile and forever scar their psyche?
I guess it could happen. Can’t let them chilluns be harmed you know with a underboob flashing them.
Ah, sweet memories of my three year old daughter getting me to run around my female Norn guardian (I think of the character as hers now) without any armour on at all. “Siffi’s nudie! Can we get some bad guys now?”
Would you like some hard cheeze with your sad whine?
I start another couple of alts and go again.
Would you like some hard cheeze with your sad whine?
Duuuuude, Norn are not overweight, big boned or whatever label you want to give them. Neither does this armour make them look so – it’s all that extra padding to help keep out the cold, they do live in the cold areas after all!
Extra padding is for weak humans. A real Norn can sleep naked in the snow in the middle of a blizzard and he won’t catch a cold !
A REAL norn will catch a cold.
With his bear hands.
Then unleash it on his enemies, drive them sneezing before him, and add to his legend.
LOL!
I have two Norn who would try and do just that.

I wouldn’t say the acquisition is bad, just not exciting. It might be nice to do a series of events to unlock new skills, similar to personal story maybe (without the cut scenes), but I don’t know.
I’ll probably just buy any that look interesting with my massive bag of skill points and move on.
(edit for spelling)
There’s a reason why acquiring skills via quests got mostly tossed out the door with Factions. Because it was a terrible mechanic. I’m glad they didn’t bring that nonsense back.
I wouldn’t know since I didn’t play GW1. I can see how it could be done well or poorly, or even just done. Glad it’s not my job.
Would you like some hard cheeze with your sad whine?
Umm…that’s pretty much what I said. We do agree on this, you and I.
Would you like some hard cheeze with your sad whine?
Wait what? Op your suggesting we be disallowed from using skill points to purchase skills?? Isn’t that what skill points are for?
So what has changed that your complaining about the method now, with the new skills, and never complained about the system before?
I think its more about reaching an access point for purchasing the new skills and not just going to your nearest capital city and talking to a trainer as soon as the skills are implemented. At least, that’s why I joined the conversation.

As i suspected its ArenaNet being extremely lazy once again.
snip
Extremely lazy is someone lying on the couch all day, living off dole money when there’s nothing wrong them that they can’t work for money, and letting the housework pile up. I doubt anyone at Anet is doing this.
Though, I could be wrong…

Hi, I got Guild Wars 2 at Christmas in 2012 and played until March, but now I have come back. But I have missed a lot of things, so is now a good time to come back? Because I feel like I have missed lots, like this Scarlet Briar event and Flame and Frost. Or I haven’t missed anything life changing? I’m not sure how else to say this. In short, what has changed since March?
Best not to dwell on what’s happened in game since you last played. You can’t miss what you never knew. None of it was life changing anyway.

@Morrigan
If I was level appropriate to Kessex hills, I wouldn’t even go in there now. Way to many red mobs there now, too many that are too strong, too many elites. Too many that bring more to them if you manage to down them. For low level people, it’s like being in Orr before they nerfed it.If I were your friend Morrigan, I would pass up Kessex right now and do another zone of the same level. Wait till the Living Story has moved out of that area. Then try it when it’s normal difficulty again.
Yes never mind the champs- she was level 15 when she went in there.
Naturally she wandered in right by Fort Salma- I remember doing that on my first character and was eaten by the first critter I came across- but at least it was a normal critter :0Luckily she managed to complete Kessex with my help- I basically took one of my higher level characters I was leveling and protected her.
She has moved on to Gendarren now- but of course they are there too- and in Queensdale, Caledon, Brisban…
Direct your friend to the snow. Too cold for Scarlet (for now)

Ah, fair enough then. I see that excuse given a bit as well in game.
it annoys me quite a bit. I’m a person who liked a challenging event, not like EQ hard mind you, but teq is right up my alley now, and im glad they buffed him. I would LIKE to do teq without having to join a specific guild. But of course, all the casual, lazy players who want everything handed to them dont want to do it, so by consequence i cant do it either.
I’m not even sure my server does it. Unless its just after reset. I’ve been wanting to try it so i might look into guesting sometime.
Until this thread I hadn’t given it much thought for quite a while.

Well from what ive heard, people are saying “It’s too ahrd and takes too long for the reward to be worth it.” and to me, if thats the reason, its kinda ridiculous. a 10 minute, 15 min max event is too long for a guaranteed 2 rares? Seems like everyone in this game just wants everything handed to them. I understand the desire to have fun, but the general GW2 population doesnt wanna work for anything it seems like. This is why GW2 has been losing a lot of the hardcore MMO players to other MMO’s; cuz the gen pop comes across as casual and lazy, doesnt wanna actually work for anything. Excuse my rant. Just saying what ive been seeing lately.
You’ve been seeing this lately but haven’t been on for months? Was this thread just an excuse for this particular rant?
Would you like some hard cheeze with your sad whine?
I hardly do any world bosses at all anymore let alone just the dragons. Unless I’m on the map already. Why? I did the daily chest train for ages before realising that sort of play really wasn’t what I was looking for as entertainment. Same reason I don’t go on champ trains.

Zero chance i would ever buy an npc action figure. Very high i would buy a figure of my character with their armor/dye/weapons matching what i have. There was a company that would do this for your WoW characters.
I would buy action figures of all 33 of my characters if this ever became something.

This game has worked flawlessly on my system for months now, and ever since the last 2 updates I get serious lag and then get booted every few minutes. Anyone know what might be wrong?
Been getting something similar since right after the Tower of Nightmares update. Last week I put my graphics down to the lowest option and I haven’t had a crash. Game related crash anyway since I suspect I have some piece of hardware starting to go senile.
Would you like some hard cheeze with your sad whine?
Leveling is totally useless imo. People who seek lore will discover them no matter questing exist or not. People who desire end-game will rush through low level content. So what is the point of leveling? To force player spend more time in game.
I can quite honestly say that I’ve never played any sort of RPG that did not involve some sort of leveling. What should they do instead? I’m pretty satisfied by the concept of levels and leveling.
Would you like some hard cheeze with your sad whine?
I don’t play any other mmos anymore so I can’t comment on them but, in this particular game, I find leveling is a bit speedier than I’d like. I’ve slowed myself down by rotating through a roster of alts at different levels (6 at the moment). Grind is different for each individual and I’m finding, for me, that the six characters are feeling like a grind. Only a mild one but still grindy. I’m enjoying it though. When I get them to 80 I’ll start on four more and see if that feels any different.
Can you find your answers in this?
