That’s not agreeing with you. Yes, it’s meant to be hard to get; that’s clear from the stuff you need to make it. No, it’s not meant to be rare; it’s an goal open to every player in the game. Clearly, Anet make the methods to get the mats available to everyone to create it. It’s presence in the game is only limited by people’s willingness to make one. If everyone wanted it, then there is no reason that everyone can’t eventually get it on equal grounds.

I don’t believe there needs to be a mechanic ingame to increase the difficulty of getting one. The premise that one is needed to make current owners feel ‘special’ and maintain it’s rarity is rather stupid.

Absolutely. They never said, these will be rare items. What they did say is these are for everyone who wants to get one if you are willing to put in the time, effort and money. That’s why they are thinking about the scavenger hunt to get a precursor, to make getting one easier. It’s never been “you are a special, little snowflake”. If you ever thought that, you are living in a fantasy world and haven’t been paying attention to the actual game.

I am not saying that EVERYONE will do EVERYTHING. First and foremost, Bosses will need to be increased in their difficulty (by adding more damage from their attacks rather than giving them more heatlh) to make it impossible to bring the exact same ZerkerFTW team to every battle. Second, there needs to be a clear split between how skills are effective in WvW and PvE just as there are PvP versions of PvE skills. This will allow for skills to be buffed without worry about their overpowered nature in WvW. And third, boons, conditions, cc’s, etc need to become much more effective so that they make actually be used to turn the tide of battle. However, I do think there will need to be a great deal of specialization. With my first example, I am saying that people in the group will need to be dedicated to snaring and no one else in the group at that time will be snaring. There will also need to be 2 people giving out swiftness, and no one else at that time. I am not saying everyone needs to be snaring and giving swiftness and all that. Roles will apply situationally. This is the best this game can do given the Developers’ vision and without returning to the problems of having a trinity.

Right now Knight gear it’s good only for…cleaning my butt in all honesty lol, doesn’t matter if i have 3k tough or 900 tough i still get 2 shot from bosses.

Why do people in this thread keep assuming that grinding or rng are the only way to put out “exclusive” items? They could put out some hard content for people that want it and want exclusive rewards that aren’t based on ridiculous RNG or easy party favors.

Someone who has the “Dungeon Master” title, for example, has put in their time doing some of the more challenging content of the game without necessarily grinding at all. What if you actually got an item for challenges like that? What if, for the Southsun cove events, there were a few easy to get event items (like the Censer?) and there were also a handful of difficult bosses or event instances that dropped mystic forge parts for those who wanted hard mode and better reward?

Seriously, everybody would’ve got it anyways. It’s fine the way it is now, there isn’t much to discuss about.

I just find ridiculous that in a game where everybody can be everything warriors can’t be tanky for nothing.

i have nearly 3k toughness yet i still get 2shotted by dungeon bosses or by vets and champs. It’s ridiculous.

We have no protection and our defensive traits are laughable, not to mention our only defensive skill with a shield lasts barely 3 seconds and takes over 20 seconds to recharge :\

Don’t be obtuse. I’m not going to get on LFG looking for a 4W1M group and do 1 run, 2 runs. I’m getting on to do an hour minimum. Maybe take a short break, then swap characters and do another hour minimum. Every day. For weeks on end. The time, and gold, adds up.

Also, if 6 minute runs is the way I want to play, who are you to tell me I’m not allowed to? There are plenty of people forming up mixed class groups to do COF, if you want one of those, go find one. Don’t try to intrude on my team and our gameplay just because you’re too lazy/selfish to do what’s needed to fit into a speedfarm group.

The best bet for fixing a lot of the crycry about COF groups would be if the LFG site had an entirely different section for speedfarms and casual groups.

You’re free to play the way you want obviously, no mistake there, too bad lots of people don’t see it your way.
I’ve had people joining a party via gw2lfg, an obviously non tryhard party, and starting to moan around and even trying to kick people if it didn’t fit their way of playing, so yeah i’m starting to get the idea that speedrunners are the elitist jerks of the game.

And yeah the lfg site needs a section for that i guess.

lets put it this way. If you get a group of 4 zerker warriors and 1 mesmer (could be zerker if ur really picking, but i personally don’t care) you can finish a run in 6 minutes easily. That 1 run should give you around 90s – 1g 10s
So without a doubt running a zerker warrior and mes group will yield the highest return using the minimum amount of time

Considering that without zerk warriors you can do it in 8 minutes easy, this elitism around “OMG WE NEED ZERK WARRIORS OR GFTO” could even end right now lol.

The tickets aren’t in the Black Lion Chest this time. There’s a new limited time RNG chest called the Consortium Supply Crate. It can (rarely) drop from mobs on Southsun Cove as well as being a cash shop item. This would be a perfectly fine solution if the drop rate of the ticket inside the chest wasn’t so ridiculously low.

Item collectors into an online game, they could easily decide to wipe out all those skins from one day to another, amazing collection you got there.

I’m running axe shield with high toughness…and i gotta say it’s much more fun than the old one. High toughness while still having 2k power and 60% crit, hitting autoattack for 1.5-2k constantly.

That said, i really wish that dual axe was viable >_>

Make weapon skins like they made it with Braham and Rox

Off hand weapons – 300 or 500 Gems
Main hand weapons – 600 or 800 Gems
Two handed weapons – 1200 or 1500 Gems

BUT ! Make it soulbound, not accountbound which means that Anet can make more money if someone wants another pair of skin on some other char. Like the pick axe thing. Isn;t that win-win ? Gaaaah, I must quit that forum cause I won’t stop bothering you and myself.

So, i’m currently running a critboon build ( http://www.guildwars2guru.com/topic/74697-build-sonic-boon-shout-greatsword/ ) and i’m having a ton of fun with it.
Sure i don’t crit 40k like zerk, i can get up to 20k at most, but at least i don’t go down with a fart and i can support a bit with shouts.

But i’ve been thinking of switching. Greatsword’s getting boring, i would love to find some Axe / Axe or Axe / Shield (i love axes yes, especially spinning axes ) oriented build (focus on pve atm), still focusing on dealing damage while not being a total squishy. Even mace would be good.

Has any of you got any suggestion to make?

Also if anything, i’m wearing 3 knight and 3 zerk pieces, so if you think i should adjust my equipment just tell me that as well ^^

Difficulty is fine for me, i lag so hard with 30+ people doing them that if they were a bit more demanding i wouldn’t even be able to get close to them :\

There isnt much difference between SFR and ER , SFR isnt a T2 Server. They just let themself down and refused to play WvW. At the Moment they are at least as dominant as ER was. And judging from ERs T1 PErformance, Sfr just had the Weapons to fight and stay in T1, but didnt do that.

Because at the moment whenever we dive with our town clothes we switch automatically to our armor, since going underwater involve equiping our breather and trident.

So unless they deactivate that or allow us to equip our town clothes on our armor instead of swapping, getting any kind of swimwear is unlikely and pointless… Except if you want to walk around in bikini on the beach/everywhere else without swimming.

I love how you assume people give a rat’s behind if they can swim in the skin or not. I’ll give you a hint: they don’t. Even if this game didn’t have water people would want a swimsuit skin.

Just keep at it, I’m sure you can. There are more than 25 total achievements, so you have options on what you plan on doing. Every achievement counts towards it, so go do a few of them and you’ll be there before you know it.

Im disappointed that i missed some parts of the game.

you did not muss just living story, you missed the karka event, the toy factory, the super adventure box, the halloween thingy…oh and the best dungeon in the game.

Yep, aside the “seasonal” stuff that hopefully gets repeated every year, yep, you lost quite a bit. Cheers for the extreme and empity proudness of this game about awarding unique stuff to players. Both with one time stuff tha gets removed after a while, literally blowing out any sense of change and “game growth” and making the “endgame” being a boring farmfest and fight against the strictest RNG i’ve ever seen in a mmorpg again.

It would be nice if they focused on long term, long lasting content that could actually enhance the experience of the game both for old players than for newcomers instead of this crazy research of uniqueness they’re having right now.
I like this game, it just feels like they’re smashing it to pieces instead of polishing it.

LoL, I got decked out in MF once and it felt like it took an hour to kill something. I’ll just stick with the food for my extra magic find. Gear never really got me anything except headache. Then again I’ve NEVER had any sort of good fortune with rng in my MMO days.

If you never had fortune in any mmo, go figures with this incredibly stupid RNG they’re using.
In a month of pandaria i dropped at least 3-4 epix from mobs, in guild wars after 8 months i still have to drop an exotic.
