Well, the like/dislike of TD is more or less determine by people’s navigation habit.

If you are the kind who like to use map/GPS, TD is arguable one of the most miserable map in the game, as mini-map is fairly useless on this map.

If you are the kind just “improvise”, then TD is one of those more “interesting” map. Until you realize everything is connected to ley-line WP, which can be fairly far from the entrance of map without burrow mastery.

First off, no RNG ever made can be truly random. To ask for true randomness will be like asking roll a zero or seven(or any number that’s not 1~6) with a standard six face dice, which you know it’s impossible due to limitation of the tool/device.

Second, “someone I know is luckier than me”, well, guess what? That’s exactly how randomness work, do you honestly think randomness distribute reward evenly or base on probability of any sort?

Not saying randomness is a good way to distribute reward, but I just find it funny every time people made the argument that RNG is flawed because it is not truly random, while what they actually ask for is to have less randomness rather than more.

I just want the shoulder attached to this year’s meta-achievement chest instead of the collection.

It actually makes very little difference, I am at 16/18, and 3 achievements left are 2500 candy, 10k drink, and 3x JP.

2 of them require you to open 10k+ gifts, so all it does just let people skip JP.

The repeatable ones count towards the meta aswell.

I wish, well, actually I don’t know, but pretty sure repeat for Toypocalypse and bell choir doesn’t, unless you mean I have to max them?

1st Wintersday is pretty disastrous in its own way.

2nd is arguable the best, it actually feels like a holiday, despite the lack of reward.

3rd Anet just push it into a corner of DR, because LA(after Scarlet attack), for some odd reason, has the fund for Halloween but not Wintersday.

This year….can’t say Anet is even trying anymore.

Guardian VS Warrior solo PvE...

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

LastShot.4762

Well I am currently leveling a Guardian and I am having a blast doing so. I have been using great sword/mace torch. I am currently level 23 and I have been searching and searching for a leveling build and or a open world solo build for pve and I have found nothing at all.

Does anyone have one willing to share or know of a link that is a good guide. Thanks in advance.

Unfortunately, ever since NPE, most vet no longer level their character the old fashion way(unless it’s for funs and giggles, which is not very efficient), and most old guides are outdated due to new specialization.

As for OP, since we are talking solo pve here….which I can’t think of anything other than PS and map exploration, I’d say warrior is hands down better, simply because wh4+signet of rage is better at maintain swiftness than retreat+staff3.

…also, why the mention of shield in solo pve, just pick up a greatsword(for both war and guard).

What's the most exciting thing ingame?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

The exciting content is the content you haven’t done for the 100th times, which is kind of hard for an MMO consider the entire genre is designed to make player sink 1000s hours on ~100 hour worth of content.

If reward is good, people will farm it, master it, then it becomes boring.

Honestly, without new content to explore, you just have to make your own fun, and knowing you will get nothing/trash or even a net loss with the time invested. (or just play another game til new content come out)

If you have good APM and good understanding on combo, go elementalist, ice bow/FGS, fire+blast for might stack, water+blast for heal, you can also aoe cleansing quite often when trait water.

If you want lazy support, go warrior, banner(s)empower alliesphalanx, just equip greatsword and have enough precision to proc phalanx.

Ranger is more along the same line as warrior, with a bit better on cleansing/heal(use healing spring, don’t use water spirit), but weaker on dps boost department.

Depend on how broken this so call bug is.
If it’s at the scale as recent symbolic avenger, then Anet will disable and fix it asap.
If it’s for trolol/non-meta builds, then Anet will put it in backburner….and when they finally fix it, everyone will go OMFG STEALTH NERF.

Also, if it’s vital to a profession, everyone main it probably already know, just because people don’t say it out loud doesn’t mean nobody knows.

Funny enough, most f2p give out their xpac for free, while sub base ones are the ones charging for it, generally it’s down to how much the community willing to pay.

Not quite sure what you mean to by “reversible”(you explanation of the term is equally confusing), but f2p cash shop generally are much more pay to win compare to p2p(if have one).

Lots f2p offer no more, if not less, content than p2p, they just gate their content with higher xp/gear curves, so you need to grind for quite a while before experiencing the actual content.

I would rather say gw2 is a bit…unique(not necessarily better) in its industry. If this is any other mmo, we will most likely need to be 90 to do southsun and 100 to DT/SW, and we will still be busy grinding to level/gear instead of complaining done the content for the 100th times.

Content need healer = content where people can’t keep themselves alive
Content need tank = content where people can’t kill mobs fast enough before mobs kill them

Anet makes all classes to be self sufficient and favor open world over instance, so this kind of content will be extremely hard to implement(if it’s even possible).

Are you even sure you were kicked because of necro? Maybe you were kicked because low AP, not being 80, or play/act like a noob, and you just happen to be a necro.

I honestly have not seen any necro being kicked just for being necro, exclude those with obvious bad builds for dungeon(hint: MM necro).

AP points are NOT a way to judge skill and frankly I laugh at that.

I think a friend uses it purely to guess how long they’ve been playing. :P

First off, I know AP is not a way to indicate skill, however, OP seem to believe he was kicked for being a necro, which I don’t believe that was the case.

If he was instantly kicked, the chance are, the group is measuring its member by either AP or level, and has nothing to do with his class.

…in dungeons..yes..dungeons got really much more difficult..but what is so good about killing every monster in the normal map in 1 hit?

(and i just wanted to help u for a happier life bcs beeing friendly brings more than beeing agressive…but ok i will not say anything anymore^^)

Actually, 50 zone is not the best example, as 50~60 area is where the scaling seem to break even with the old system, 60+ area onward I actually feel stronger than before.(so essentially you are saying the old scaling was fine.)

Tried out some of the newbie zones, and you will notice where the super downscaling has the most impact.

•New damage over time: 2 + (0.25 * Level) + (0.06 * Condition Damage)

Well, for $50, I’d expect HOT double the size of existing game world, but ANet hardly reveal anything content wise, so it’s hard to tell it’s worth or not.

I think a lot of people have the impression HOT is just an open up version of demo map ANet used for beta, which is ~$20 worth at best, and couple with the newbie package, people think ANet is trying to double dip vets with very few additional content.

Actually, water arcane ele with mist form is super good at survival, even in zerker gear.

Since we are talking about open world here, there is really no reason to go crazy on dps with squishy builds.

ps. OP, no, gear is not your problem here, if you stick with current setup, you will die just as often as you do in exotic as in rare. For zerker gear, upgrade to exotic just makes you hit harder, you are still as squishy as ever.

GW2 leveling is way too fast.

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: LastShot.4762

LastShot.4762

and I know it isn’t this way now, and I think it might be a mistake on Anets part, but when the game first came out, for a long time, people WERE doing dungeons of the appropriate level. that “80+ only” junk has only developed once people got to that level and made their legendaries and junk and now they feel like they’re superior and don’t want to waste time with the likes of a *gasp/ newww playerrr

That makes new players like me very sad. I can’t even find players to run dungeon at my level with me through LFG. I only ran AC twice, once with some very helpful players, who kept telling me I am doing great while I kept dying, and once with my guild mates.

Actually, that’s not the reason 80 only party exist, dungeon has very little change since launch, so some people just see it as a chore and want to get it over asap.

Dungeon in this game is so easy, it can be carried by 1~3 people, so you are more likely bump into “nicer” people(they are being nice because they know they can do it without you) than most MMO.

1. The final finishing precursor (of the existing/preHoT) is TRADEABLE

It specifically says the new precursors won’t be tradeable though.

The problem of new ones is Anet can totally RNG us on components other than precursor, they may not even follow the same formula as the existing ones.

At least for the existing ones, I know what I expect now.(And don’t get me wrong, I actually think those are good things, for me at least.)

I read through the whole article and here is what I gather:

Step1 : you need to train mastery then speak to NPC to unlock 3 collections.
Step2: in example of moot:
collection 1 involve getting specific drops from killing mobs, finish this collection give you a receipt, allow you to craft an untrabeable weapon.
collection 2 seem to just talk to some npcs, again give you a receipt, which let you craft an upgrade to the first weapon.
collection 3 require you preform certain actions, attend events and/or activities, and final give you a receipt to upgrade 2nd weapon into precursor.
